This paper discusses our vision of multirole-capable decision-making systems across a broad range of Data Science (DS) workflows working on graphs through disaggregated data centres. Our vision is that an alternative is possible to work on a disaggregated solution for the provision of computational services under the notion of a disaggregated data centre. We define this alternative as a virtual entity that dynamically provides resources crosscutting the layers of edge, fog and data centre according to the workloads submitted by the workflows and their Service Level Objectives.

Authors:

Abstract:
A vertex subset $S$ of a graph $G=(V,E)$ is a $[1,2]$-dominating set if each vertex of $V\backslash S$ is adjacent to either one or two vertices in $S$. The minimum cardinality of a $[1,2]$-dominating set of $G$, denoted by $γ_{[1,2]}(G)$, is called the $[1,2]$-domination number of $G$. In this paper the $[1,2]$-domination and the $[1,2]$-total domination numbers of the generalized Petersen graphs…

We study the eternal dominating number and the m-eternal dominating number on digraphs. We generalize known results on graphs to digraphs. We also consider the problem "oriented (m-)eternal domination", consisting in finding an orientation of a graph that minimizes its eternal dominating number. We prove that computing the oriented eternal dominating number is NP-hard and characterize the graphs for which the oriented m-eternal dominating number is 2. We also study these two parameters on trees, cycles, complete graphs, complete bipartite graphs, trivially perfect graphs and different kinds of grids and products of graphs.

Labeled Packing of Cycles and Circuits

Abstract:
In 2013, Duch{ê}ne, Kheddouci, Nowakowski and Tahraoui [4, 9] introduced a labeled version of the graph packing problem. In 2013, Duch{ê}ne, Kheddouci, Nowakowski and Tahraoui [4, 9] introduced a labeled version of the graph packing problem. It led to the introduction of a new parameter for graphs, the k-labeled packing number $λ$ k. This parameter corresponds to the maximum number of labels we can assign to the vertices of the graph, such that we will be able to create a packing of k copies of the graph, while conserving the labels of the vertices. The authors intensively studied the labeled packing of cycles, and, among other results, they conjectured that for every cycle C n of order n = 2k + x, with k $\ge$ 2 and 1 $\le$ x $\le$ 2k -- 1, the value of $λ$ k (C n) was 2 if x was 1 and k was even, and x + 2 otherwise. In this paper, we disprove this conjecture by giving a counter example. We however prove that it gives a valid lower bound, and we give sufficient conditions for the upper bound to hold. We then give some similar results for the labeled packing of circuits.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study the complexity of the edge monitoring problem. A vertex $v$ monitors an edge $e$ if both extremities together with $v$ form a triangle in the graph. Given a graph $G=(V,E)$ and a weight function on edges $c$ where $c(e)$ is the number of monitors that needs the edge $e$, the problem is to seek a minimum subset of monitors $S$ such that every edge $e$ in the graph is monitor…

Given a graph $G=(V,E)$ and a weight function on edges $c$ where $c(e)$ is the number of monitors that needs the edge $e$, the problem is to seek a minimum subset of monitors $S$ such that every edge $e$ in the graph is monitored by at least $c(e)$ vertices in $S$. In this paper, we study the edge monitoring problem on several graph classes such as complete graphs, block graphs, cographs, split graphs, interval graphs and planar graphs. We also generalize the problem by adding weights on vertices.

We introduce a variant of the vertex-distinguishing edge coloring problem, where each edge is assigned a subset of colors. The label of a vertex is the union of the sets of colors on edges incident to it. We introduce a variant of the vertex-distinguishing edge coloring problem, where each edge is assigned a subset of colors. The label of a vertex is the union of the sets of colors on edges incident to it. In this paper we investigate the problem of finding a coloring with the minimum number of colors where every vertex receives a distinct label. Finding such a coloring generalizes several other well-known problems of vertex-distinguishing colorings in graphs. We show that for any graph (without connected component reduced to an edge or a single vertex), the minimum number of colors for which such a coloring exists can only take 3possible values depending on the order of the graph. Moreover, we provide the exact value for paths, cycles and complete binary trees.

Subdivision into i-packings and S-packing chromatic number of some lattices

Abstract:
An $i$-packing in a graph $G$ is a set of vertices at pairwise distance greater than $i$. For a nondecreasing sequence of integers $S=(s\_{1},s\_{2},\ldots)$, the $S$-packing chromatic number of a graph $G$ is the least integer $k$ such that there exists a coloring of $G$ into $k$ colors where each set of vertices colored $i$, $i=1,\ldots, k$, is an $s\_i$-packing.

This paper describes various subdivisions of an $i$-packing into $j$-packings ($j\textgreater{}i$) for the hexagonal, square and triangular lattices. These results allow us to bound the $S$-packing chromatic number for these graphs, with more precise bounds and exact values for sequences $S=(s\_{i}, i\in\mathbb{N}^{*})$, $s\_{i}=d+ \lfloor (i-1)/n \rfloor$.

The Grundy number of a graph $G$, denoted by $Γ(G)$, is the largest $k$ such that there exists a partition of $V(G)$, into $k$ independent sets $V_1,\ldots, V_k$ and every vertex of $V_i$ is adjacent to at least one vertex in $V_j$, for every $j < i$. The objects which are studied in this article are families of $r$-regular graphs such that $Γ(G) = r + 1$. Using the notion of independent module, a characterization of this family is given for $r=3$. Moreover, we determine classes of graphs in this family, in particular the class of $r$-regular graphs without induced $C_4$, for $r \le 4$. Furthermore, our propositions imply results on partial Grundy number.
