This paper reports on students' readiness for using Metaverse for education in a university in a develo** country facing infrastructure and poverty challenges. Covid-19 forced many universities to adopt a hybrid approach to teaching and supervision. While online meeting technologies have become commonplace, there is a lack of the connectedness of face-to-face meetings, for which Metaverse is promoted as a solution. We pose the question as to the level of readiness of students to use Metaverse technologies. Thematic analysis of students' self-reflections on their experience of supervision in a 2D virtual world revealed the usefulness of the technology readiness index model, from which an extension to the model was proposed to include facilitators for the application of the technology that may mediate the motivators and inhibitors when assessing readiness to use Metaverse in education settings.

Localisation can be defined as estimating or finding a position of the node. There are two techniques in localisation, which are range-based and range-free techniques. This paper focusses on the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) localisation method, which is categorised in a range-based technique along with the time of arrival, time difference of arrival and angle of arrival. Therefore, this study aims to compare the trilateration and multilateration method for RSSI-based technique for localising the transmitted (Tx) node. The wireless sensor module in the work used LOng-RAnge radio (LoRa) with 868MHz frequency. Nowadays, wireless networks have been a key technology for smart environments, monitoring, and object tracking due to low power consumption with long-range connectivity. The number of received (Rx) nodes are three and four for trilateration and multilateration methods, respectively. The transmitted node is placed at 32 different coordinates within the 10x10 meter outdoor area. The results show that error localisation obtained for General Error Localisation (GER) for multilateration and trilateration is 1.83m and 2.30m, respectively. An additional, the maximum and minimum error for multilateration and trilateration from 1.00 to 5.28m and 0.5 to 3.61m. The study concludes that the multilateration method more accurate than trilateration. Therefore, with the increasing number of Rx node, the accuracy of localisation of the Tx node increases.

Text categorization (TC) is the task of automatically organizing a set of documents into a set of pre-defined categories. Over the last few years, increased attention has been paid to the use of documents in digital form and this makes text categorization becomes a challenging issue. The most significant problem of text categorization is its huge number of features. Most of these features are redundant, noisy and irrelevant that cause over fitting with most of the classifiers. Hence, feature extraction is an important step to improve the overall accuracy and the performance of the text classifiers. In this paper, we will provide an overview of using principle component analysis (PCA) as a feature extraction with various classifiers. It was observed that the performance rate of the classifiers after using PCA to reduce the dimension of data improved. Experiments are conducted on three UCI data sets, Classic03, CNAE-9 and DBWorld e-mails. We compare the classification performance results of using PCA with popular and well-known text classifiers. Results show that using PCA encouragingly enhances classification performance on most of the classifiers.

Clustering is an important data mining technique that groups similar data records, recently categorical transaction clustering is received more attention. In this research, we study the problem of categorical data clustering for transactional data characterized with high dimensionality and large volume. We propose a novel algorithm for clustering transactional data called F-Tree, which is based on the idea of the frequent pattern algorithm FP-tree; the fastest approaches to the frequent item set mining. And the simple idea behind the F-Tree is to generate small high pure clusters, and then merge them. That makes it fast, and dynamic in clustering large transactional datasets with high dimensions. We also present a new solution to solve the overlap** problem between clusters, by defining a new criterion function, which is based on the probability of overlap** between weighted items. Our experimental evaluation on real datasets shows that: Firstly, F-Tree is effective in finding interesting clusters. Secondly, the usage of the tree structure reduces the clustering process time of the large data set with high attributes. Thirdly, the proposed evaluation metric used efficiently to solve the overlap** of transaction items generates high-quality clustering results. Finally, we have concluded that the process of merging pure and small clusters increases the purity of resulted clusters as well as it reduces the time of clustering better than the process of generating clusters directly from dataset then refine clusters.

Information fusion is an advanced research area which can assist decision makers in enhancing their decisions. This paper aims at designing a new multi-layer framework that can support the process of performing decisions from the obtained beliefs using information fusion. Since it is not an easy task to cross the gap between computed beliefs of certain hypothesis and decisions, the proposed framework consists of the following layers in order to provide a suitable architecture (ordered bottom up): 1. A layer for combination of basic belief assignments using an information fusion approach. Such approach exploits Dezert-Smarandache Theory, DSmT, and proportional conflict redistribution to provide more realistic final beliefs. 2. A layer for computation of pignistic probability of the underlying propositions from the corresponding final beliefs. 3. A layer for performing probabilistic reasoning using a Bayesian network that can obtain the probable reason of a proposition from its pignistic probability. 4. Ranking the system decisions is ultimately used to support decision making. A case study has been accomplished at various operational conditions in order to prove the concept, in addition it pointed out that: 1. The use of DSmT for information fusion yields not only more realistic beliefs but also reliable pignistic probabilities for the underlying propositions. 2. Exploiting the pignistic probability for the integration of the information fusion with the Bayesian network provides probabilistic inference and enable decision making on the basis of both belief based probabilities for the underlying propositions and Bayesian based probabilities for the corresponding reasons. A comparative study of the proposed framework with respect to other information fusion systems confirms its superiority to support decision making.

This paper present a novel off-line signature recognition method based on multi scale Fourier Descriptor and wavelet transform . The main steps of constructing a signature recognition system are discussed and experiments on real data sets show that the average error rate can reach 1%. Finally we compare 8 distance measures between feature vectors with respect to the recognition performance.
