Abstract:
In the Metric Dimension problem, one asks for a minimum-size set R of vertices such that for any pair of vertices of the graph, there is a vertex from R whose two distances to the vertices of the pair are distinct. This problem has mainly been studied on undirected graphs and has gained a lot of attention in the recent years. We focus on directed graphs, and show how to solve the problem in linear…

We focus on directed graphs, and show how to solve the problem in linear-time on digraphs whose underlying undirected graph (ignoring multiple edges) is a tree. This (nontrivially) extends a previous algorithm for oriented trees. We then extend the method to unicyclic digraphs (understood as the digraphs whose underlying undirected multigraph has a unique cycle). We also give a fixed-parameter-tractable algorithm for digraphs when parameterized by the directed modular-width, extending a known result for undirected graphs. Finally, we show that Metric Dimension is NP-hard even on planar triangle-free acyclic digraphs of maximum degree 6.

Complexity and equivalency of multiset dimension and ID-colorings
Authors:

Abstract:
This investigation is firstly focused into showing that two metric parameters represent the same object in graph theory. That is, we prove that the multiset resolving sets and the ID-colorings of graphs are the same thing. We also consider some computational and combinatorial problems of the multiset dimension, or equivalently, the ID-number of graphs. We prove that the decision problem concerning…

We prove that the decision problem concerning finding the multiset dimension of graphs is NP-complete. We consider the multiset dimension of king grids and prove that it is bounded above by 4. We also give a characterization of the strong product graphs with one factor being a complete graph, and whose multiset dimension is not infinite.

Abstract:
We study upper bounds on the size of optimum locating-total dominating sets in graphs. A set $S$ of vertices of a graph $G$ is a locating-total dominating set if every vertex of $G$ has a neighbor in $S$, and if any two vertices outside $S$ have distinct neighborhoods within $S$. The smallest size of such a set is denoted by $γ^L_t(G)$. It has been conjectured that $γ^L_t(G)\leq\frac{2n}{3}$ holds…

It has been conjectured that $γ^L_t(G)\leq\frac{2n}{3}$ holds for every twin-free graph $G$ of order $n$ without isolated vertices. We prove that the conjecture holds for cobipartite graphs, split graphs, block graphs, subcubic graphs and outerplanar graphs.
