Generalized super-resolution 4D Flow MRI $\unicode{x2013}$ using ensemble learning to extend across the cardiovascular system
Abstract: 4D Flow Magnetic Resonance Imaging (4D Flow MRI) is a non-invasive measurement technique capable of quantifying blood flow across the cardiovascular system. While practical use is limited by spatial resolution and image noise, incorporation of trained super-resolution (SR) networks has potential to enhance image quality post-scan. However, these efforts have predominantly been restricted to narrow… ▽ More

Minimal codewords in Norm-Trace codes
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the affine variety codes obtained evaluating the polynomials $by=a_kx^k+\dots+a_1x+a_0$, $b,a_i\in\mathbb{F}_{q^r}$, at the affine $\F_{q^r}$-rational points of the Norm-Trace curve. In particular, we investigate the weight distribution and the set of minimal codewords. Our approach, which uses tools of algebraic geometry, is based on the study of the absolutely irreduci… ▽ More

Saturating systems and the rank covering radius
Abstract: We introduce the concept of a rank saturating system and outline its correspondence to a rank-metric code with a given covering radius. We consider the problem of finding the value of $s_{q^m/q}(k,ρ)$, which is the minimum $\mathbb{F}_q$-dimension of a $q$-system in $\mathbb{F}_{q^m}^k$ which is rank $ρ$-saturating. This is equivalent to the covering problem in the rank metric. We obtain upper and… ▽ More

Rational points on cubic surfaces and AG codes from the Norm-Trace curve
Abstract: In this paper we give a complete characterization of the intersections between the Norm-Trace curve over $\mathbb{F}_{q^3}$ and the curves of the form $y=ax^3+bx^2+cx+d$, generalizing a previous result by Bonini and Sala, providing more detailed information about the weight spectrum of one-point AG codes arising from such curve. We also derive, with explicit computations, some general bounds for t… ▽ More

On the weight distribution of some minimal codes
Abstract: Minimal codes are a class of linear codes which gained interest in the last years, thanks to their connections to secret sharing schemes. In this paper we provide the weight distribution and the parameters of families of minimal codes recently introduced by C. Tang, Y. Qiu, Q. Liao, Z. Zhou, answering some open questions.

On the weights of dual codes arising from the GK curve
Abstract: In this paper we investigate some dual algebraic-geometric codes associated with the Giulietti-Korchmáros maximal curve. We compute the minimum distance and the minimum weight codewords of such codes and we investigate the generalized hamming weights of such codes.

Minimal linear codes arising from blocking sets
Abstract: Minimal linear codes are algebraic objects which gained interest in the last twenty years, due to their link with Massey's secret sharing schemes. In this context, Ashikhmin and Barg provided a useful and a quite easy to handle sufficient condition for a linear code to be minimal, which has been applied in the construction of many minimal linear codes. In this paper, we generalize some recent cons… ▽ More

Planar Polynomials arising from Linearized polynomials
Abstract: In this paper we construct planar polynomials of the type $f_{A,B}(x)=x(x^{q^2}+Ax^{q}+Bx)\in \mathbb{F}_{q^3}[x]$, with $A,B \in \mathbb{F}_{q}$. In particular we completely classify the pairs $(A,B)\in \mathbb{F}_{q}^2$ such that $f_{A,B}(x)$ is planar using connections with algebraic curves over finite fields.

Abstract: In this paper we analyze the intersection between the norm-trace curve over $\mathbb{F}_{q^3}$ and the curves of the form $y=ax^3+bx^2+cx+d$, giving a complete characterization of the intersection between the curve and the parabolas, as well as sharp bounds for the other cases.
