Magnetic skyrmions are promising candidates for future information storing and processing devices. There are different routes for stabilizing the skyrmions. Understanding the interplay mechanism between different scenarios of skyrmion formation is one key factor that can reveal new paths for controlling skyrmion phases. Inspired by the flexibility of two-dimensional materials that offer an exciting playground for manipulating spin textures, we conducted \textit{ab initio} simulations and utilized four-state spin framework to determine magnetic parameters of lateral heterostructure formed by NiBr2 and NiCl2 Monolayers. The obtained spin interaction parameters are utilized to determine the skyrmionic phases via Monte Carlo simulation. Monte Carlo simulation results suggest three distinct phase transition mechanisms exist in the present system. Namely, examination of heat capacity versus temperature curve obtained from average anisotropic exchange energy yields a phase transition between paramagnetic and spin-spiral states at $5$K for pristine NiBr2, a paramagnetic-mixed skyrmion state transition occurs at 17 K for pristine NiCl2, and a high-temperature ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition at T=80 K is observed for the heterostructure region, indicating that some kind of intrinsic ferromagnetism may originate at the interface of pristine Janus structures.

We present a comprehensive study on the electronic and magnetic properties of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer using first-principles calculations. By taking into account the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and the Hubbard effects, we elucidate the influence of these interactions on the structural properties of EuCl$_3$ monolayer. Comparing the lattice parameters obtained with the PBE+SOC and PBE+SOC+Hubbard effects reveals an increase in the lattice parameters when including the Hubbard effect. In the absence of the Hubbard interaction, the magnetic ground state of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer exhibits a preference for a ferromagnetic (FM) configuration as determined by the PBE+SOC calculations. However, the introduction of the Hubbard parameter leads to a shift in the magnetic ground state preference towards an antiferromagnetic (AFM) Néel state. Based on the calculated energy values, Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to determine the Néel temperature $(T_N)$. Our simulations yield a Néel temperature of \SI{390}{\kelvin} for the EuCl$_3$ monolayer, indicating the temperature at which the transition from a paramagnetic phase to an antiferromagnetic phase occurs. These results highlight the importance of incorporating the SOC and the Hubbard effect in accurately describing the electronic and magnetic properties of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer. Our results contribute to a deeper understanding of the fundamental physics underlying the behavior of this intriguing two-dimensional material and provide insights into its potential applications in spintronics and magnetic devices.

We study the equilibrium and dynamic phase transition properties of two-dimensional Ising model on a decorated triangular lattice under the influence of a time-dependent magnetic field composed of a periodic square wave part plus a time independent bias term. Using Monte Carlo simulations with standard Metropolis algorithm, we determine the equilibrium critical behavior in zero field. At a fixed temperature corresponding to the multidroplet regime, we locate the relaxation time and the dynamic critical half-period at which a dynamic phase transition takes place between ferromagnetic and paramagnetic states. Benefiting from finite-size scaling theory, we estimate the dynamic critical exponent ratios for the dynamic order parameter and its scaled variance, respectively. The response function of the average energy is found to follow a logarithmic scaling as a function of lattice size. At the critical half-period and in the vicinity of small bias field regime, average of the dynamic order parameter obeys a scaling relation with a dynamic scaling exponent which is very close to the equilibrium critical isotherm value. Finally, in the slow critical dynamics regime, investigation of metamagnetic fluctuations in the presence of bias field revels a symmetric double-peak behavior for the scaled variance contours of dynamic order parameter and average energy. Our results strongly resemble those previously reported for kinetic Ising models.

Using Monte Carlo simulations based on the Metropolis algorithm, we investigate the dynamic phase transition properties of kinetic Ising model driven by a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field in the presence of additive white noise. We calculate equilibrium and dynamic properties such as the temperature dependence of average magnetization and magnetic specific heat, as well as the period dependence of dynamic order parameter and scaled variance. After determining the critical period at which order-disorder transition takes place, we perform finite size scaling analysis to extract the exponent ratios, and discuss the variation of these properties in the presence of noisy magnetic field. As a general result, we show that for a noisy system, DPT does not fall into a universality class of the conventional dynamic (and also equilibrium) universality class of the Ising model.

Magnetic properties of an Ising bilayer system defined on a honeycomb lattice with non-magnetic interlayers which interact via an indirect exchange coupling have been investigated by Monte Carlo simulation technique. Equilibrium properties of the system exhibit ferrimagnetism with $P$-, $N$- and $Q$- type behaviors. Compensation phenomenon suddenly disappears with decreasing strength of indirect ferrimagnetic interlayer exchange coupling. Qualitative properties are in a good agreement with those obtained by effective field theory. In order to investigate the stochastic dynamics of kinetic Ising bilayer, we have introduced two different types of dynamic magnetic fields, namely a square wave, and a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field form. For both field types, compensation point and critical temperature decrease with increasing amplitude and field period. Dynamic ferromagnetic region in the presence of square wave magnetic field is narrower than that obtained for sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field when the amplitude and the field period are the same for each type of dynamic magnetic fields.

Many MX$_3$ materials have layered structures in their bulk phases, while RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$ have one-dimensional chains in plane. In this paper, we show that these metal halogens can also form two-dimensional layered structures in the bulk phase similar to other metal halogens, and cleavage energy values confirm that the monolayers of RuX$_3$ can be possible to be synthesised. We also find that monolayers of RuX$_3$ prefer ferromagnetic spin orientation in the plane for Ru atoms. Their ferromagnetic ground state, however, changes to antiferromagnetic zigzag state after U is included. Calculations using PBE+U with SOC predict indirect band gap of 0.70 eV and 0.32 eV for the optimized structure of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$, respectively. Calculation based on the Monte Carlo simulations reveal interesting magnetic properties of RuBr$_3$, such as large Curie temperature against RuI$_3$, both in bulk and monolayer cases. Moreover, as a result of varying exchange couplings between neighboring magnetic moments, magnetic properties of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$ can undergo drastic changes from bulk to monolayer. We hope our findings can be useful to attempt to fabricate the bulk and monolayer of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$.

The particle core is composed of ferromagnetic spins, and it is surrounded by a ferromagnetic shell. By means of Monte Carlo simulation based on an improved Metropolis algorithm, we implement the nanoparticles using classical Heisenberg Hamiltonians. Particular attention has also been devoted to elucidate the effects of the particle size on the thermal and magnetic phase transition features of these systems. For nanoparticles with imperfect surface layers, it is found that bigger particles exhibit lower compensation point which decreases gradually with increasing amount of vacancies, and vanishes at a critical value. In view of nanoparticles with diluted interface, our Monte Carlo simulation results suggest that there exists a region in the disorder spectrum where compensation temperature linearly decreases with decreasing dilution parameter. For nanoparticles with roughened interface, it is observed that the degree of roughness does not play any significant role on the variation of both the compensation point and critical temperature. However, the low temperature saturation magnetizations of the core and shell interface regions sensitively depend on the roughness parameter.

We elucidate the finite temperature entanglement properties of $N=9$ qubits Heisenberg $XX$ and $XXZ$ models under the presence of a polarized magnetic field in $xz$ plane by means of concurrence concept. We perform a systematic analysis for a wide range of the system parameters. Our results suggest that the global phase regions which separate the entangled and non-entangled regions sensitively depend upon the spin-spin interaction term of the $z-$ component of two neighboring spins $J_{z}/J_{x}$, temperature as well as polarized magnetic field components. Thereby, we think that polarized magnetic field can be used a control parameter to determine the amount of thermal entanglement between pair of qubits for different temperatures and spin-spin interaction terms. Moreover, it has been found that the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits does not point out a re-entrant type entanglement character when one only deals with the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits. However, as one considers next-nearest neighbor pair of qubits, it is possible to see the evidences of re-entrant type entanglement behaviors.

Variation of the Curie temperature as a function of film thickness has been examined. The relative shift of the Curie temperature from the corresponding bulk value has been investigated in terms of the shift exponent $λ$. We have found that shift exponent $λ$ clearly depends on the strength of the ferromagnetic exchange coupling of the surface. Moreover, we have not observed any significant difference between classical and quantum exponents for a particular model.

Critical phenomena in uniaxial ferromagnetic thin films in the presence of random magnetic fields have been studied within the framework of effective field theory. When the type of the random field distribution is bimodal, the system exhibits tricritical behavior. Furthermore, the critical value of surface to bulk ratio of exchange interactions at which the transition temperature becomes independent of film thickness is insensitive to the presence of disorder whether the distribution is bimodal or trimodal. Regarding the universality properties, neither $p$, nor $h$ variations in the system can affect the value of the shift exponent $λ$. In this regard, it can be concluded that pure ferromagnetic thin films are in the same universality class with those under the influence of random discrete magnetic fields.

Critical phenomena and universality behavior of ferromagnetic thin films described by a spin-1 Blume-Capel Hamiltonian has been examined for various thickness values ranging from 3 to 40 layers. Using effective field theory, we have found that crystal field interactions significantly affects the critical value of surface to bulk ratio of exchange interactions $R_{c}$ at which the critical temperature becomes independent of film thickness $L$. Moreover, we have extracted the shift exponent $λ$ from computed data. Based on the results, we have shown that in the presence of surface exchange enhancement, the system may exhibit a dimensional crossover. We have also found that presence of crystal field interactions does not affect the value of $λ$. Hence, a ferromagnetic spin-1/2 thin film is in the same universality class with its spin-1 counterpart.

By means of detailed Monte Carlo simulations, a complete picture of the phase diagrams and magnetization profiles have been presented and the conditions for the occurrence of a compensation point $T_{comp}$ in the system have been investigated. According to Néel nomenclature, the magnetization curves of the particle have been found to obey P-type, N-type and Q-type classification schemes under certain conditions. Much effort has been devoted to investigation of hysteretic response of the particle and we observed the existence of triple hysteresis loop behavior which originates from the existence of a weak ferromagnetic core coupling $J_{c}/J_{sh}$, as well as a strong antiferromagnetic interface exchange interaction $J_{int}/J_{sh}$. Most of the calculations have been performed for a particle in the presence of oscillating fields of very high frequencies and high amplitudes in comparison with exchange interactions which resembles a magnetic system under the influence of ultrafast switching fields. Particular attention has also been paid on the influence of the particle size on the thermal and magnetic properties, as well as magnetic features such as coercivity, remanence and compensation temperature of the particle. Nonequilibrium behavior and dynamic phase transition properties of a kinetic Ising model under the influence of periodically oscillating random-fields have been analyzed within the framework of effective field theory (EFT) based on a decoupling approximation (DA). Dynamic equation of motion has been solved for a simple cubic lattice ($q=6$) by utilizing a Glauber type stochastic process. Amplitude of the sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field is randomly distributed on the lattice sites according to bimodal and trimodal distribution functions. For a bimodal type of amplitude distribution, it is found in the high frequency regime that the dynamic phase diagrams of the system in temperature versus field amplitude plane resemble the corresponding phase diagrams of pure kinetic Ising model. Our numerical results indicate that for a bimodal distribution, both in the low and high frequency regimes, the dynamic phase diagrams always exhibit a coexistence region in which the stationary state (ferro or para) of the system is completely dependent on the initial conditions whereas for a trimodal distribution, coexistence region disappears depending on the values of system parameters.

Site diluted spin-1/2 Ising and spin-1 Blume Capel (BC) models in the presence of transverse field interactions are examined by introducing an effective-field approximation that takes into account the multi-site correlations in the cluster of a considered lattice with an improved configurational averaging technique. The critical concentration below which the transition temperature reduces to zero is determined for both models, and the estimated values are compared with those obtained by the other methods in the literature. It is found that diluting the lattice sites by non magnetic atoms may cause some drastic changes on some of the characteristic features of the model. Particular attention has been paid on the global phase diagrams of a spin-1 BC model, and it has also been shown that the conditions for the occurrence of a second order reentrance in the system is rather complicated, since the existence or extinction of reentrance is rather sensitive to the competing effects between D/J, Ω/J and c.

Ising model with quenched random magnetic fields is examined for single Gaussian, bimodal and double Gaussian random field distributions by introducing an effective field approximation that takes into account the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. Random field distribution shape dependencies of the phase diagrams and magnetization curves are investigated for simple cubic, body centered and face centered cubic lattices. The conditions for the occurrence of reentrant behavior and tricritical points on the system are also discussed in detail.

Abstract:
A spin-1 transverse Ising model with longitudinal crystal field in a longitudinal magnetic field is examined by introducing an effective field approximation (IEFT) which includes the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. The effects of the crystal field as well as the transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields on the thermal and magnetic properties of t…

A spin-1 transverse Ising model with longitudinal crystal field in a longitudinal magnetic field is examined by introducing an effective field approximation (IEFT) which includes the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. The effects of the crystal field as well as the transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields on the thermal and magnetic properties of the spin system are discussed in detail. The order parameters, Helmholtz free energy and entropy curves are calculated numerically as functions of the temperature and Hamiltonian parameters. A number of interesting phenomena such as reentrant phenomena originating from the temperature, crystal field, transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields have been found.

In this study, dependence on site dilution of critical and compensation temperatures of a two dimensional mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 system has been investigated with Monte Carlo simulation. The dependence of the thermal and magnetic behaviors on dilution of mixed spin system have been discussed. We have shown that the critical and compensation temperatures of diluted mixed spin system linearly decrease with increasing number of diluted sites.
