Magnetic skyrmions are promising candidates for future information storing and processing devices. There are different routes for stabilizing the skyrmions. Understanding the interplay mechanism between different scenarios of skyrmion formation is one key factor that can reveal new paths for controlling skyrmion phases. Inspired by the flexibility of two-dimensional materials that offer an exciting playground for manipulating spin textures, we conducted \textit{ab initio} simulations and utilized four-state spin framework to determine magnetic parameters of lateral heterostructure formed by NiBr2 and NiCl2 Monolayers. The obtained spin interaction parameters are utilized to determine the skyrmionic phases via Monte Carlo simulation. Monte Carlo simulation results suggest three distinct phase transition mechanisms exist in the present system. Namely, examination of heat capacity versus temperature curve obtained from average anisotropic exchange energy yields a phase transition between paramagnetic and spin-spiral states at $5$K for pristine NiBr2, a paramagnetic-mixed skyrmion state transition occurs at 17 K for pristine NiCl2, and a high-temperature ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition at T=80 K is observed for the heterostructure region, indicating that some kind of intrinsic ferromagnetism may originate at the interface of pristine Janus structures.

We present a comprehensive study on the electronic and magnetic properties of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer using first-principles calculations. By taking into account the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and the Hubbard effects, we elucidate the influence of these interactions on the structural properties of EuCl$_3$ monolayer. Comparing the lattice parameters obtained with the PBE+SOC and PBE+SOC+Hubbard effects reveals an increase in the lattice parameters when including the Hubbard effect. In the absence of the Hubbard interaction, the magnetic ground state of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer exhibits a preference for a ferromagnetic (FM) configuration as determined by the PBE+SOC calculations. However, the introduction of the Hubbard parameter leads to a shift in the magnetic ground state preference towards an antiferromagnetic (AFM) Néel state. Based on the calculated energy values, Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to determine the Néel temperature $(T_N)$. Our simulations yield a Néel temperature of \SI{390}{\kelvin} for the EuCl$_3$ monolayer, indicating the temperature at which the transition from a paramagnetic phase to an antiferromagnetic phase occurs. These results highlight the importance of incorporating the SOC and the Hubbard effect in accurately describing the electronic and magnetic properties of the EuCl$_3$ monolayer. Our results contribute to a deeper understanding of the fundamental physics underlying the behavior of this intriguing two-dimensional material and provide insights into its potential applications in spintronics and magnetic devices.

Many MX$_3$ materials have layered structures in their bulk phases, while RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$ have one-dimensional chains in plane. In this paper, we show that these metal halogens can also form two-dimensional layered structures in the bulk phase similar to other metal halogens, and cleavage energy values confirm that the monolayers of RuX$_3$ can be possible to be synthesised. We also find that monolayers of RuX$_3$ prefer ferromagnetic spin orientation in the plane for Ru atoms. Their ferromagnetic ground state, however, changes to antiferromagnetic zigzag state after U is included. Calculations using PBE+U with SOC predict indirect band gap of 0.70 eV and 0.32 eV for the optimized structure of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$, respectively. Calculation based on the Monte Carlo simulations reveal interesting magnetic properties of RuBr$_3$, such as large Curie temperature against RuI$_3$, both in bulk and monolayer cases. Moreover, as a result of varying exchange couplings between neighboring magnetic moments, magnetic properties of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$ can undergo drastic changes from bulk to monolayer. We hope our findings can be useful to attempt to fabricate the bulk and monolayer of RuBr$_3$ and RuI$_3$.

Recent experiments revealed that monolayer $α$-RuCl$_3$ can be obtain by chemical exfoliation method and exfoliation or restacking of nanosheets can manipulate the magnetic properties of the materials. In this present paper, the electronic and magnetic properties of $α$-RuCl$_3$ monolayer are investigated by combining first-principles calculations and Monte Carlo simulations. From first-principles calculations, we found that the spin configuration FM corresponds to the ground state for $α$-RuCl$_3$, however, the other excited zigzag oriented spin configuration has energy of 5 meV/atom higher than the ground state. Energy band gap has been obtained as $3$ meV using PBE functionals. When spin-orbit coupling effect is taken into account, corresponding energy gap is determined to be as $57$ meV. We also investigate the effect of Hubbard U energy terms on the electronic band structure of $α$-RuCl$_3$ monolayer and revealed band gap increases approximately linear with increasing U value. Moreover, spin-spin coupling terms ($J_1$, $J_2$, $J_3$) have been obtained using first principles calculations. By benefiting from these terms, Monte Carlo simulations with single site update Metropolis algorithm have been implemented to elucidate magnetic properties of the considered system. Thermal variations of magnetization, susceptibility and also specific heat curves indicate that monolayer $α$-RuCl$_3$ exhibits a phase transition between ordered and disordered phases at the Curie temperature $14.21$ K. We believe that this study can be utilized to improve two-dimensional magnet materials.

We elucidate the finite temperature entanglement properties of $N=9$ qubits Heisenberg $XX$ and $XXZ$ models under the presence of a polarized magnetic field in $xz$ plane by means of concurrence concept. We perform a systematic analysis for a wide range of the system parameters. Our results suggest that the global phase regions which separate the entangled and non-entangled regions sensitively depend upon the spin-spin interaction term of the $z-$ component of two neighboring spins $J_{z}/J_{x}$, temperature as well as polarized magnetic field components. Thereby, we think that polarized magnetic field can be used a control parameter to determine the amount of thermal entanglement between pair of qubits for different temperatures and spin-spin interaction terms. Moreover, it has been found that the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits does not point out a re-entrant type entanglement character when one only deals with the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits. However, as one considers next-nearest neighbor pair of qubits, it is possible to see the evidences of re-entrant type entanglement behaviors.

Critical phenomena and universality behavior of ferromagnetic thin films described by a spin-1 Blume-Capel Hamiltonian has been examined for various thickness values ranging from 3 to 40 layers. Using effective field theory, we have found that crystal field interactions significantly affects the critical value of surface to bulk ratio of exchange interactions $R_{c}$ at which the critical temperature becomes independent of film thickness $L$. Moreover, we have extracted the shift exponent $λ$ from computed data. Based on the results, we have shown that in the presence of surface exchange enhancement, the system may exhibit a dimensional crossover. We have also found that presence of crystal field interactions does not affect the value of $λ$. Hence, a ferromagnetic spin-1/2 thin film is in the same universality class with its spin-1 counterpart.

In order to elucidate the important characteristics of hysteretic response, such as types of the frequency dispersion curves, the decay of hysteresis loop area, the mechanism of domain nucleation and/or growth in the dynamic process, etc., a followup examination after the original work has been presented. The additive complementary treatment is essentially based on the results of recent preprint arXiv:1302.2727 concerning the effect of oscillatory perturbation on the surface enhancement phenomenon in magnetic thin films. Throughout the analysis, the best appropriate parameter values have been chosen since they would allow us to achieve striking results. The topology of the response for different layer indices in two regimes of modified surface exchange has been particularly emphasized.

Nonequilibrium phase transition properties of the $\pm J$ Ising model under a time dependent oscillating perturbation are investigated within the framework of effective field theory for a two-dimensional square lattice. After a detailed analysis, it is found that the studied system exhibits unusual and interesting behaviors such as reentrant phenomena, and the competition between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions gives rise to destruct the dynamic first order phase transitions as well as dynamic tricritical points. Furthermore, according to Néel nomenclature, the magnetization profiles have been found to obey Q-type, L-type and P-type classification schemes under certain conditions. Finally, it is observed that the treatment of critical percolation with applied field amplitude strongly depends upon the frequency of time varying external field.

The stationary state solutions of the Ising-type thin films with different layers in the presence of an external oscillatory field have been examined within the effective field theory. The exhibition focuses on understanding of the external field frequency and amplitude effect on the overall behavior of system for several powerful treatments. The particular attention has been paid on the dynamical parametric evolution of the special point at which the critical temperature of the three-dimensional infinite bulk system, where the surface and the modified exchange parameter are of no importance. Important characteristics of the films, such as surface enhancement phenomenon, effect of thickness on the dynamic process etc. have been introduced together with well known other characteristics. An attempt has been made to explain the relations between the competing time scales (intrinsic microscopic relaxation time of the system and the time period of the external oscillatory field) and frequency dispersion of the critical temperature coordinate of the special point.

Effect of Gaussian random magnetic field distribution which is centered at zero on the phase transition properties of isotropic quantum Heisenberg model has been investigated on two (2D) and three dimensional (3D) lattices within the framework of effective field theory (EFT) for a two spin cluster (which is abbreviated as EFT-2). Beside the phase diagrams and the evolution of the magnetization versus temperature curves with the Gaussian magnetic field distribution width, critical Gaussian distribution width values, which make the critical temperature zero, have been obtained for several lattices. Moreover, it has been concluded that all critical temperatures are of the second order and reentrant behavior does not exist in the phase diagrams.

The kinetic equation describing the time dependence of the magnetization is derived by means of effective-field theory with single-site correlations. It is found that the frequency dispersions of hysteresis loop area, remanence and coercivity strongly depend on the quenched bond randomness, as well as applied field amplitude and oscillation frequency. In addition, the shape of the hysteresis curves for a wide variety of Hamiltonian parameters is studied and some interesting behaviors are found. A cylindrical magnetic nanowire system composed of ferromagnetic core and shell layers has been investigated by using effective field theory with correlations. Both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange couplings at the core-shell interface have been considered. Main attention has been focused on the effects of the quenched disordered shell bonds, as well as interface bonds on the magnetic properties of the system. A complete picture of the phase diagrams and magnetization profiles has been represented. It has been shown that for the antiferromagnetic nanowire system, the magnetization curves can be classified according to Néel theory of ferrimagnetism and it has been found that under certain conditions, the magnetization profiles may exhibit Q-type, P-type, N-type and L-type behaviors. The observed L-type behavior has not been reported in the literature before for the equilibrium properties of nanoscaled magnets. As another interesting feature of the system, it has been found that a compensation point can be induced by a bond dilution process in the surface. Furthermore, we have not found any evidence of neither the first order phase transition characteristics, nor the reentrance phenomena.

Nonequilibrium behavior and dynamic phase transition properties of a kinetic Ising model under the influence of periodically oscillating random-fields have been analyzed within the framework of effective field theory (EFT) based on a decoupling approximation (DA). Dynamic equation of motion has been solved for a simple cubic lattice ($q=6$) by utilizing a Glauber type stochastic process. Amplitude of the sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field is randomly distributed on the lattice sites according to bimodal and trimodal distribution functions. For a bimodal type of amplitude distribution, it is found in the high frequency regime that the dynamic phase diagrams of the system in temperature versus field amplitude plane resemble the corresponding phase diagrams of pure kinetic Ising model. Our numerical results indicate that for a bimodal distribution, both in the low and high frequency regimes, the dynamic phase diagrams always exhibit a coexistence region in which the stationary state (ferro or para) of the system is completely dependent on the initial conditions whereas for a trimodal distribution, coexistence region disappears depending on the values of system parameters.

We have examined the stationary state solutions of a bond diluted kinetic Ising model under a time dependent oscillating magnetic field within the effective-field theory (EFT) for a honeycomb lattice $(q=3)$. Time evolution of the system has been modeled with a formalism of master equation. The effects of the bond dilution, as well as the frequency $(ω)$ and amplitude $(h/J)$ of the external field on the dynamic phase diagrams have been discussed in detail. We have found that the system exhibits the first order phase transition with a dynamic tricritical point (DTCP) at low temperature and high amplitude regions, in contrast to the previously published results for the pure case \cite{Ling}. Bond dilution process on the kinetic Ising model gives rise to a number of interesting and unusual phenomena such as reentrant phenomena and has a tendency to destruct the first-order transitions and the DTCP. Site diluted spin-1/2 Ising and spin-1 Blume Capel (BC) models in the presence of transverse field interactions are examined by introducing an effective-field approximation that takes into account the multi-site correlations in the cluster of a considered lattice with an improved configurational averaging technique. The critical concentration below which the transition temperature reduces to zero is determined for both models, and the estimated values are compared with those obtained by the other methods in the literature. It is found that diluting the lattice sites by non magnetic atoms may cause some drastic changes on some of the characteristic features of the model. Particular attention has been paid on the global phase diagrams of a spin-1 BC model, and it has also been shown that the conditions for the occurrence of a second order reentrance in the system is rather complicated, since the existence or extinction of reentrance is rather sensitive to the competing effects between D/J, Ω/J and c.
