CIZA J1358.9-4750 is a nearby galaxy cluster in the early phase of a major merger. The two-dimensional temperature map using XMM-Newton EPIC-PN observation confirms the existence of a high temperature region, which we call the "hot region", in the "bridge region" connecting the two clusters. The ~ 500 kpc wide region between the southeast and northwest boundaries also has higher pseudo pressure compared to the unshocked regions, suggesting the existence of two shocks. The southern shock front is clearly visible in the X-ray surface brightness image and has already been reported by Kato et al. (2015). The northern one, on the other hand, is newly discovered. To evaluate their Mach number, we constructed a three-dimensional toy merger model with overlap** shocked and unshocked components in line of sight. The unshocked and preshock ICM conditions are estimated based on those outside the interacting bridge region assuming point symmetry. The hot region spectra are modeled with two-temperature thermal components, assuming that the shocked condition follows the Rankin-Hugoniot relation with the preshock condition. As a result, the shocked region is estimated to have a line-of-sight depth of ~ 1 Mpc with a Mach number of ~ 1.3 in the southeast shock and ~ 1.7 in the northwest shock. The age of the shock waves is estimated to be ~ 260 Myr. This three dimensional merger model is consistent with the Sunyaev-Zeldovich signal obtained using the Planck observation within the CMB fluctuations. The total flow of the kinetic energy of the ICM through the southeast shock was estimated to be ~ 2.2 x $10^{42}$ erg/s. Assuming that 10 % of this energy is converted into ICM turbulence, the line-of-sight velocity dispersion is calculated to be ~ 200 km/s, which is basically resolvable via coming high spectral resolution observations.

Asteroid 162173 Ryugu has numerous craters. The initial measurement of impact craters on Ryugu, by Sugita et al. (2019), is based on Hayabusa2 ONC images obtained during the first month after the arrival of Hayabusa2 in June 2018. Utilizing new images taken until February 2019, we constructed a global impact crater catalogue of Ryugu, which includes all craters larger than 20 m in diameter on the surface of Ryugu. As a result, we identified 77 craters on the surface of Ryugu. Ryugu shows variation in crater density which cannot be explained by the randomness of cratering; there are more craters at lower latitudes and fewer at higher latitudes, and fewer craters in the western bulge (160 E - 290 E) than in the region around the meridian (300 E - 30 E). This variation implies a complicated geologic history for Ryugu. It seems that the longitudinal variation in crater density simply indicates variation in the crater ages; the cratered terrain around the meridian seems to be geologically old while the western bulge is relatively young. The latitudinal variation in crater density suggests that the equatorial ridge of Ryugu is a geologically old structure; however, this could be alternatively explained by a collision with many fission fragments during a short rotational period of Ryugu in the past.

The Rare-RI Ring (R3) is a recently commissioned cyclotron-like storage ring mass spectrometer dedicated to mass measurements of exotic nuclei far from stability at Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory (RIBF) in RIKEN. The first application of mass measurement using the R3 mass spectrometer at RIBF is reported. Rare isotopes produced at RIBF, $^{127}$Sn, $^{126}$In, $^{125}$Cd, $^{124}$Ag, $^{123}$Pd, were injected in R3. Masses of $^{126}$In, $^{125}$Cd, and $^{123}$Pd were measured whereby the mass uncertainty of $^{123}$Pd was improved. This is the first reported measurement with a new storage ring mass spectrometery technique realized at a heavy-ion cyclotron and employing individual injection of the pre-identified rare nuclei. The latter is essential for the future mass measurements of the rarest isotopes produced at RIBF. The impact of the new $^{123}$Pd result on the solar $r$-process abundances in a neutron star merger event is investigated by performing reaction network calculations of 20 trajectories with varying electron fraction $Y_e$. It is found that the neutron capture cross section on $^{123}$Pd increases by a factor of 2.2 and $β$-delayed neutron emission probability, $P_\mathrm{1n}$, of $^{123}$Rh increases by 14\%. The neutron capture cross section on $^{122}$Pd decreases by a factor of 2.6 leading to pileup of material at $A=122$, thus reproducing the trend of the solar $r$-process abundances. The trend of the two-neutron separation energies (S$_\mathrm{2n}$) was investigated for the Pd isotopic chain. The new mass measurement with improved uncertainty excludes large changes of the S$_\mathrm{2n}$ value at $N=77$. Such large increase of the S$_\mathrm{2n}$ values before $N=82$ was proposed as an alternative to the quenching of the $N=82$ shell gap to reproduce $r$-process abundances in the mass region of $A=112-124$.

Using isochronous mass spectrometry at the experimental storage ring CSRe in Lanzhou, the masses of $^{82}$Zr and $^{84}$Nb were measured for the first time with an uncertainty of $\sim 10$ keV, and the masses of $^{79}$Y, $^{81}$Zr, and $^{83}$Nb were re-determined with a higher precision. %The latter differ significantly from their literature values. The latter are significantly less bound than their literature values. Our new and accurate masses remove the irregularities of the mass surface in this region of the nuclear chart. Our results do not support the predicted island of pronounced low $α$ separation energies for neutron-deficient Mo and Tc isotopes, making the formation of Zr-Nb cycle in the $rp$-process unlikely. The new proton separation energy of $^{83}$Nb was determined to be 490(400)~keV smaller than that in the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2012. This partly removes the overproduction of the $p$-nucleus $^{84}$Sr relative to the neutron-deficient molybdenum isotopes in the previous $νp$-process simulations.

We performed the first spectral-line survey at 82--106 GHz and 335--355 GHz toward the outflow-shocked region, OMC 2-FIR 4, the outflow driving source, FIR 3, and the northern outflow lobe, FIR 3N. We detected 120 lines of 20 molecular species. The line profiles are found to be classifiable into two types: one is a single Gaussian component with a narrow ($<$ 3 km s$^{-1}$) width and another is two Gaussian components with narrow and wide ($>$ 3km s$^{-1}$) widths. The narrow components for the most of the lines are detected at all positions, suggesting that they trace the ambient dense gas. For CO, CS, HCN, and HCO$^{+}$, the wide components are detected at all positions, suggesting the outflow origin. The wide components of C$^{34}$S, SO, SiO, H$^{13}$CN, HC$^{15}$N, H$_2^{13}$CO, H$_2$CS, HC$_3$N, and CH$_3$OH are detected only at FIR 4, suggesting the outflow-shocked gas origin. The rotation diagram analysis revealed that the narrow components of C$_2$H and H$^{13}$CO$^+$ show low temperatures of 12.5$\pm$1.4 K, while the wide components show high temperatures of 20--70 K. This supports our interpretation that the wide components trace the outflow and/or outflow-shocked gas. We compared observed molecular abundances relative to H$^{13}$CO$^+$ with those of the outflow-shocked region, L1157 B1, and the hot corino, IRAS 16293-2422. Although we cannot exclude a possibility that the chemical enrichment in FIR 4 is caused by the hot core chemistry, the chemical compositions in FIR 4 are more similar to those in L1157 B1 than those in IRAS 16293-2422.

A $^{238}$U projectile beam was used to create cadmium isotopes via abrasion-fission at 410 MeV/u in a beryllium target at the entrance of the in-flight separator FRS at GSI. The fission fragments were separated with the FRS and injected into the isochronous storage ring ESR for mass measurements. The Isochronous Mass Spectrometry (IMS) was performed under two different experimental conditions, with and without B$ρ$-tagging at the dispersive central focal plane of the FRS. In the experiment with B$ρ$-tagging the magnetic rigidity of the injected fragments was determined by an accuracy of $2\times 10^{-4}$. A new method of data analysis, using a correlation matrix for the combined data set from both experiments, has provided mass values for 25 different isotopes for the first time. The high selectivity and sensitivity of the experiment and analysis has given access even to rare isotopes detected with a few atoms per week. In this letter we present for the $^{129,130,131}$Cd isotopes mass values directly measured for the first time. The Cd results clearly show a very pronounced shell effect at $N=82$ which is in agreement with the conclusion from $γ$-ray spectroscopy of $^{130}$Cd and confirms the assumptions of modern shell-model calculations.

Hayabusa asteroid explorer successfully released the sample capsule to Australia on June 13, 2010. Since the Earth reentry phase of sample return was critical, many backup plans for predicting the landing location were prepared. This paper investigates the reentry dispersion using ground based optical observation as a backup observation for radiometric observation. Several scenarios are calculated and compared for the reentry phase of the Hayabusa to evaluate the navigation accuracy of the ground-based observation. The optical observation doesn't require any active reaction from a spacecraft, thus these results show that optical observations could be a steady backup strategy even if a spacecraft had some trouble. We also evaluate the landing dispersion of the Hayabusa only with the optical observation.

Large organic molecules and carbon clusters are basic building blocks of life, but their existence in the universe has not been confirmed beyond doubt. A number of unidentified absorption features (arising in the diffuse inter-stellar medium), usually called ``Diffuse Inter-stellar Bands (DIBs)'', are hypothesized to be produced by large molecules. Among these, buckminsterfullerene C_60 has gained much attention as a candidate for DIB absorbers because of its high stability in space. Two DIBs at ~9577A and 9632A have been reported as possible features of C_60^+. However, it is still not clear how their existence depends on their environment. We obtained high-resolution spectra of three stars in/around the Orion Nebula, to search for any correlations of the DIB strength with carrier's physical conditions, such as dust-abundance and UV radiation field. We find three DIBs at ~9017A, 9210A, and 9258A as additional C_60^+ feature candidates, which could support this identification. These DIBs have asymmetric profiles similar to the longer wavelength features. However, we also find that the relative strengths of DIBs are close to unity and differ from laboratory measurements, a similar trend as noticed for the 9577/9632 DIBs.

The observed electrons are likely to be dominated by a primary population esca** from an acceleration region in the clouds.
