Tilted disk precession exists in different objects. Negative superhumps (NSHs) in cataclysmic variable stars (CVs) are hypothesized to arise from the interaction between the reverse precession of a tilted disk and the streams from the secondary star. Utilizing TESS photometry, we present a comprehensive investigation into the tilted disk precession and NSHs in the dwarf nova (DN) HS 2325+8205, employing eclipse minima, eclipse depths, NSH frequencies, and NSH amplitudes and the correlation between them as the windows. We report the discovery of NSHs in HS 2325+8205 with a period of 0.185671(17) d. The NSH frequency was found to vary with a period of 3.943(9) d, similar to the tilted disk precession period validated in novae-like star (NL, SDSS J0812) and intermediate polar (IP, TV Col). The eclipsing minima of O-C were similarly found to vary cyclically in period 4.135(5) d, showing faster rise than fall. Furthermore, NSH amplitude varies parabolically, linearly increasing with periodic variations, potentially linked to changes in disk radius, mass transfer rate, and apparent area of the hot spot. Additionally, for the first time in DNe, we observe bi-periodic variations in eclipse depth (P1= 4.131(4) d and P2= 2.065(2) d ~ Pprec/2), resembling those seen in IPs, suggesting that variations with P2 are not attributable to the accretion curtain. Moreover, NSH amplitude and eclipse depth decrease with increasing NSH frequency, while NSH amplitude correlates positively with eclipse depth. These complex variations observed across multiple observational windows provide substantial evidence for understanding of tilted disk precession and NSHs.

We reported a cyclic variation of $O-C$ diagram with a semi-amplitude of 0.0033 days and a period of 1.05 years for the pulsating eclipsing binary HZ Dra. The cyclic variation can be explained by the light travel-time effect via the presence of a close-in third body orbiting around HZ Dra in an elliptical orbit with a maximum semi-major axis of 0.92 au. Based on the W-D code, the contribution of the third light to the total system is determined to be 29 $\%$, which is in agreement with the estimated value. Our light curve modelling indicates an evolving hot and cool spot on the surface of the primary and secondary components, respectively. Their positions are roughly symmetrical to the inner Lagrangian point L1, which could be used to explain the variation in the O$^{'}$Connell effect. Our frequency analysis detects 1 radial p-mode, 7 non-radial p-modes and 1 non-radial g-mode. In addition, a total of 6 multiplets are identified, spaced by the orbital frequency, which can be explained as a tidally split mode caused by the equilibrium tides of the close binary system with a circular orbit. These pulsating features suggest that the primary of HZ Dra is a $δ$ Scuti star, pulsating in both p- and g-mode and influenced by tidal forces.

Asteroseismology offers a profound window into stellar interiors and has emerged as a pivotal technique in exoplanetary research. This study harnesses the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) observations to reveal, for the first time, the asteroseismic oscillations of four exoplanet-hosting stars. Through meticulous analysis, we extracted their asteroseismic signatures, enabling the precise determination of stellar masses, radii, luminosities, and surface gravities. These parameters exhibit markedly reduced uncertainties compared to those derived from spectroscopic methods. Crucially, the exoplanets orbiting these stars were initially identified via radial velocity measurements. The refinement of host stellar masses necessitates a corresponding adjustment in planetary characteristics. Employing asteroseismology, we recalibrated the exoplanets' minimum masses and semi-major axes - a novel approach in the field. For instance, the exoplanet HD 5608 b's minimum mass, denoted as Msini, was ascertained to be 1.421 +/- 0.091 M_J through the integration of asteroseismic and radial velocity data. Similarly, two planets within the 7 CMa system yielded Msini values of 1.940 +/- 0.064 MJ and 0.912 +/- 0.067 M_J, respectively. Two planets in HD 33844 system presented Msini figures of 1.726 +/- 0.145 M_J and 1.541 +/- 0.182 M_J, while the HIP 67851 system's planets registered Msini at 1.243 +/- 0.139 M_J and a notably higher 5.387 +/- 0.699 M_J. This investigation extends beyond mere parameter refinement; it underscores the synergy between asteroseismology and exoplanetology, yielding unprecedented precision in system metrics. Focusing on quartet of K-type giants in advanced evolutionary phases, our work positions these systems as invaluable astrophysical laboratories, offering insights into the potential trajectory of our own solar system's fate.

Superhumps are seen during superoutbursts of SU UMa-type dwarf novae. The month-long data sets of TESS are well suited for studying the variation of superhumps. We selected seven non-eclipsing SU UMa-type dwarf novae with superhumps in which TESS light curves are available and have not yet been studied. The stages A, B, and C of superhumps in superoutbursts were determined by O-C method. The results indicate that not all complete superoutbursts show obvious three stages, such as DT Oct and the second superoutburst of J1730+6247. We calculated the superhump periods for each stage and the mean periods for whole superoutbursts. Taking the stage A superhump method, the mass ratios (M2/M1) were estimated. According to the results, the seven stars are pre-bounce systems with mass ratios ranging from 0.1 to 0.2. By combining the orbital periods and the mean superhump periods, the precession periods were calculated. The results show that the precession periods of the seven SU UMa stars are about 2 days.

We present the eclipsing Heartbeat Star KIC 9704906 with tidally excited oscillations (TEOs) and gamma Doradus/delta Scuti hybrid pulsations. The derived parameters show that it has an orbital period of $P$=8.7529108(1) days, a high eccentricity of $e$=0.467(3), and a high inclination of $i$=78$^{\circ}$.81(6). The mass ratio $q$=0.981(5), the relative radii (radius divided by semi-major axis) $r_1$=0.0639(2), and $r_2$=0.0715(4) indicate that the secondary component has a less mass and a larger radius, and may have evolved off the main sequence. The eight derived TEO candidates, $n$ = 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 40, and 44 harmonics, are consistent with or close to the dominant spherical harmonic $l=2$, $m=0$, or $\pm2$, assuming that the spin and orbital axes are aligned, and the pulsations are adiabatic and standing waves. We also identify ten independent frequency candidates, but one of them, $\mathit{f_{7}}$, is more like a modulation of a quasi-periodic signal and the orbits. According to the g-mode frequencies, we find that the rotation period of one component is 11.52(29) days. Although the masses and radii cannot be further constrained due to the lack of sufficient high-precision spectra, the fascinating phenomena in the Fourier spectra are evident and valuable in this system.

V583 Lyr is an extremely low mass ratio Algol-type binary with an orbital period of 11.2580 days. We determined an effective temperature of T_{eff1} = 9000 \pm 350 K from newly observed spectra, which might be an underestimate due to binary mass transfer. The binary mass ratio q = 0.1 \pm 0.004 and the orbital inclination i = 85.5° are determined based on the assumption that the secondary fills its Roche lobe and rotates synchronously. The radial velocity curve is obtained from time series spectra, allowing for improved estimation of stellar masses and radii: M1 = 3.56 \pm 0.5 Msun, R1 = 2.4 \pm 0.2 Rsun; and M2 = 0.36 \pm 0.02 Msun, R2= 6.9 \pm 0.4 Rsun. The variations in the double-peaked H_α emission indicate the formation of a stable disk during mass transfer. V583 Lyr appears to be a post-mass-reversal system, according to the estimated mass transfer using O-C period analysis. Its orbital period is slowly increasing, from which the rate of mass accretion by the primary star is estimated to be dM1/dt = 3.384 \times10^{-8} Msun/yr. The pulsation analysis was conducted on the residuals of the light curve. The primary component was found to be a g-mode pulsating star with 26 frequencies extracted lower than 9 d^{-1}. The frequency groups and rotational splitting properties of the g-mode were studied in detail. This study provides compelling evidence for an accretion disk surrounding the g-mode pulsating primary.

Noticing the potential relationship between the pulsation amplitude of fundamental mode RR Lyrae stars and their average effective temperatures, we derived the relation between them from observational data. Using these relationships, we present the zero-age horizontal branch lines and corresponding evolutionary tracks in the Bailey diagrams. We first find that the trends of zero-age horizontal branch lines are consistent with the distributions of Oosterhoff I RR Lyrae stars, and there is a period shift effect in relatively metal-rich samples ([Fe/H] > -1). Main results show that evolutionary effects are the direct cause of the Oosterhoff dichotomy. The vast majority of Oosterhoff I RR Lyrae stars are in the early stage of horizontal branch evolution, while most of the Oosterhoff II stars are near the end of the horizontal branch phase. Our Bailey diagrams can intuitively explain some Oosterhoff phenomena (e.g., long-period RR Lyrae stars in the metal-rich globular clusters NGC 6388 and NGC 6441), and also have the potential to become an important tool for in-depth study of RR Lyrae stars. Further research is needed on the Oosterhoff dichotomy to explore the formations and evolutionary processes of the Milky Way and its substructures.

The kinematics and flux evolution of the superluminal knots in blazar 3C345 were interpreted in the framework of the precessing jet-nozzle scenario with a precessing common helical trajectory-pattern. We show that the jet in 3C345 precesses with a period of 7.3yr and the superluminal knots move consistently along a precessing common helical trajectory-pattern in their inner jet regions, which can extend to core distances of about 1.2mas or traveled distances of about 300pc (for knots C4 and C9). Through model-fitting of the observed kinematic behavior of the superluminal knots, their bulk Lorentz factor and Doppler factor were derived as continuous functions of time, which were used to investigate their flux evolution. We found that the light curves measured at 15, 22 and 43GHz can be well model-fitted in terms of their Doppler boosting profiles associated with their superluminal motion. Flux fluctuations on shorter time scales also exist due to knots' intrinsic variations in flux density and spectral index. The close association of the flux evolution with the Doppler boosting effect is important, firmly vadidating the precessing jet-nozzle scenario being fully appropriate to explain both the kinematics and emission properties of the superluminal knots in 3C345. We have proposed both the precessing jet-nozzle scenarios with a single jet and double jets (this paper and Qian[2022b]) to understand the VLBI phenomena in 3C345. VLBI-observations with higher resolutions deep into the core regions (core distances less than 0.1mas) are required to test them.

Tidally excited oscillations (TEOs) in Heartbeat Stars (HBSs) are an essential probe of the internal properties of the systems, but their potential has yet to be fully exploited. Based on the orbital parameters of TEO candidates from our previous works, we identify the pulsation phases and amplitudes of TEOs in fourteen Kepler HBSs. Most pulsation phases of most systems can be explained by the dominant being $l=2$, $m=0$, or $\pm2$ spherical harmonic, assuming that the spin and orbital axes are aligned, and the pulsations are adiabatic and standing waves. The largest deviation ($>6σ$) occurs in KIC 8459354, which can be explained by the spin-orbit misalignment, and KIC 5877364 has a similar scenario. For KIC 11122789, almost half of the harmonics show large deviations; we cautiously suggest that these harmonics may not be considered TEO candidates. A similar scenario also exists in KIC 6290740. This phases and mode identification approach can also be used inversely to verify the TEO candidates derived by the Fourier analysis. Furthermore, the harmonics with large deviations ($>2σ$) in KIC 4377638, KIC 5090937, and KIC 11403032 can be expected to be travelling waves rather than standing waves. In addition, we also suggest that the apsidal motion could cause large deviations in TEO phases from theoretical values.

We investigate the eclipse minima, eclipse depth, and NSH amplitude based on TESS photometry. The periodic variation of the NSH amplitude of TV Col confirms that periodic NSH amplitude changes in response to the tilted disk precession may be universal, which is another evidence that the origin of the NSHs is related to the tilted disk precession. We suggest that the NSH amplitude variation may be similar to the superorbital signal, coming from the periodic change in visual brightness of the energy released by streams touching the tilted disk with tilted disk precession. Finally, we find for the first time that the eclipse depth exhibits bi-periodic variations with periods of P1 = 3.905(11) d and P2 = 1.953(4) d, respectively. P2 is about half of P1 and the disk precession period (P1~ Pprec ~ 2 * P2). We suggest that P1 may come from the periodic change in the brightness of the eclipse center due to tilted disk precession, while P2 may come from two accretion curtains precessing together with the tilted disk, but more verification and discussion are necessary. The discovery of bi-periodic variations in eclipse depth provides a new window for studying IPs and tilted disk precession.

The spectral line identifications, evolution of line velocities and pseudo equivalent widths, as well as correlations between some important spectral parameters are presented. Our sample displays a large range in expansion velocities. For instance, the Fe~{\sc ii} $5169$ velocities measured from spectra at $t\sim 50$ days after the explosion vary from ${\rm 2000\ km\ s^{-1}}$ to ${\rm 5500\ km\ s^{-1}}$, with an average value of ${\rm 3872 \pm 949\ km\ s^{-1}}$. Power-law functions can be used to fit the velocity evolution, with the power-law exponent quantifying the velocity decline rate. We found an anticorrelation existing between H$β$ velocity at mid-plateau phase and its velocity decay exponent, SNe II with higher velocities tending to have smaller velocity decay rate. Moreover, we noticed that the velocity decay rate inferred from the Balmer lines (i.e., H$α$ and H$β$) have moderate correlations with the ratio of absorption to emission for H$α$ (a/e). In our sample, two objects show possibly flash-ionized features at early phases. Besides, we noticed that multiple high-velocity components may exist on the blue side of hydrogen lines of SN 2013ab, possibly suggesting that these features arise from complex line forming region. All our spectra can be found in WISeREP and Zenodo.

Negative superhumps (NSHs) are signals a few percent shorter than the orbital period of a binary star and are considered to originate from the reverse precession of the tilted disk. Based on TESS photometry, we find nine new cataclysmic variable stars (CVs) with NSHs. Three (ASAS J1420, TZ Per, and V392 Hya) of these stars similar to AH Her still have NSHs during dwarf nova outbursts, and the NSH amplitude varies with the outburst. The variation in the radius of the accretion disk partially explains this phenomenon. However, it does not explain the rebound of the NSH amplitude after the peak of the outburst and the fact that the NSH amplitude of the quiescence is sometimes not the largest, and it is necessary to combine the disk instability model (DIM) and add other ingredients. Therefore, we suggest that the variation of NSH amplitude with outburst can be an essential basis for studying the origin of NSHs and improving the DIM. The six ( ASASSN-V J1137, ASASSN-V J0611, 2MASS J0715, LAMOST J0925, ASASSN-17qj, and ZTF18acakuxo) remaining stars have been poorly studied, and for the first time we determine their orbital periods, NSHs and Superorbital signal (SOR) periods. The NSH periods and amplitudes of ASASSN-V J1137 and ASASSN-17qj vary with the SOR, and based on the comparison of the observations with the theory, we suggest that a single change in tilted disk angle does not explain the observations of the SOR and that other ingredients need to be considered as well.

The core-collapse supernova (CCSN) is considered one of the most energetic astrophysical events in the universe. The early and prompt detection of neutrinos before (pre-SN) and during the supernova (SN) burst presents a unique opportunity for multi-messenger observations of CCSN events. In this study, we describe the monitoring concept and present the sensitivity of the system to pre-SN and SN neutrinos at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 kton liquid scintillator detector currently under construction in South China. The real-time monitoring system is designed to ensure both prompt alert speed and comprehensive coverage of progenitor stars. It incorporates prompt monitors on the electronic board as well as online monitors at the data acquisition stage. Assuming a false alert rate of 1 per year, this monitoring system exhibits sensitivity to pre-SN neutrinos up to a distance of approximately 1.6 (0.9) kiloparsecs and SN neutrinos up to about 370 (360) kiloparsecs for a progenitor mass of 30 solar masses, considering both normal and inverted mass ordering scenarios. The pointing ability of the CCSN is evaluated by analyzing the accumulated event anisotropy of inverse beta decay interactions from pre-SN or SN neutrinos. This, along with the early alert, can play a crucial role in facilitating follow-up multi-messenger observations of the next galactic or nearby extragalactic CCSN.

We find for the first time the NSHs with a period of 0.24497(1) d in AH Her, and trace the variation of the amplitude and period of NSHs with the outburst. The amplitude of the NSHs is most significant at quiescence, weakening as the outburst rises, becoming undetectable at the top, rebounding and weakening at the plateau, and strengthening again as the outburst declines. The variation of the accretion disk radius can explain the NSHs amplitude variation except for the plateau, so we suggest that the relationship between NSHs amplitude and outburst can be used as a window to study the accretion disk instability and the origin of NSHs. In addition, we find the periodic variations in the amplitude, maxima, and shape of the NSHs ranging from 2.33(2) d to 2.68(5) d, which may be related to the precession of the tilted disk. Finally, we find QPOs at the top of AH Her's long outburst with ~ 2800 s similar to HS 2325+8205, suggesting that the presence of QPOs at the top of Z Cam's long outburst may be a general phenomenon

Heartbeat stars (HBSs) with tidally excited oscillations (TEOs) are ideal laboratories for studying the effect of equilibrium and dynamical tides. However, studies of TEOs in Kepler HBSs are rare due to the need for better modeling of the equilibrium tide in light curves. We revisit the HBSs in our previous work and study the TEOs in these HBSs based on the derived orbital parameters that could express the equilibrium tide. We also compile a set of analytic procedures to examine the harmonic and anharmonic TEOs in their Fourier spectra. The TEOs of 21 HBSs have been newly analyzed and presented. Twelve of these HBSs show prominent TEOs (signal-to-noise ratio of the harmonics $S/N \ge 10$). The relation between the orbital eccentricities and the harmonic number of the TEOs shows a positive correlation. The relation between the orbital periods and the harmonic number also shows a positive correlation. Furthermore, the distribution of HBSs with TEOs in the Hertzsprung-Russell (H-R) diagram shows that TEOs are more visible in hot stars with surface effective temperatures $T$ $\gtrsim$ 6500 K. These samples may also be valuable targets for future studies of the effect of tidal action in eccentric orbits.

The precessing jet-nozzle scenario previously proposed was applied to model-fit the kinematics of five superluminal components (C19,C20,C21,B5 and B7) of jet-B in blazar 3C345. Based on a specific pattern for the the precessing common trajectory of jet-B, the kinematic properties (including trajectory, coordinates, core separation and apparent velocity) were model-fitted and their flux evolution could be studied. Through model-simulation of their kinematic behavior, the bulk Lorentz factor, viewing angle and Doppler factor were derived as continuous functions of time and the association of their flux evolution with their Doppler-boosting effect was investigated. The 43GHz light-curves of the five superluminal components can be well interpreted in terms of their Doppler effect. The close association of their flux evolution with the Doppler-boosting effect firmly validates our precessing nozzle scenario and supports the traditional point-view that superluminal components are physical entities (traveling shocks or plasmoids) participating relativistic motion toward us at small angles. The model-simulation of kinematic behavior of superluminal components by using our precessing nozzle scenario with specific patterns (helical or ballistic) assumed for the precessing common trajectories yields the model-derived bulk Lorentz factor, apparent velocity, viewing angle and Doppler factor as continuous functions of time, which are most applicable to study the connection of flux evolution with Doppler boosting effect for the superluminal components.

We collected a total of 4,058 X-ray binary stars, out of which 339 stars had three atmospheric parameters for optical companions from Gaia and LAMOST, while 264 stars had masses and radii of optical companions determined using stellar evolution models. We conducted a thorough discussion on the reliability of each parameter. The statistical analysis revealed a noticeable bimodal distribution in the mass, radius, and age of the optical components. Our findings led to the proposal of a new quantitative classification criterion for X-ray binary stars. In this classification, one type is categorized as high-mass, high-temperature, and young, while the other type is classified as low-mass, low-temperature, and old, corresponding to High-Mass X-Ray Binaries (HMXBs) and Low-Mass X-Ray Binaries (LMXBs), respectively. The dividing lines were established at 11,500 K, 1.7 $M_{\odot}$, and 0.14 Gyr. The classification results of the three parameters showed consistency with one another in 90\% of the cases and were in agreement with previous classifications in 80\% of the cases. We found that the parameters of the two types had well-defined boundaries and distinct patterns. Based on our findings, we suggest that temperature is the best parameter for classification. Therefore, we propose that X-ray binary stars should be classified into high-temperature X-ray binaries (HTXBs) and low-temperature X-ray binaries (LTXBs). We believe that this classification is more convenient in practice and aligns well with physics.

We discuss JUNO sensitivity to the annihilation of MeV dark matter in the galactic halo via detecting inverse beta decay reactions of electron anti-neutrinos resulting from the annihilation. We study possible backgrounds to the signature, including the reactor neutrinos, diffuse supernova neutrino background, charged- and neutral-current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos, backgrounds from muon-induced fast neutrons and cosmogenic isotopes. A fiducial volume cut, as well as the pulse shape discrimination and the muon veto are applied to suppress the above backgrounds. It is shown that JUNO sensitivity to the thermally averaged dark matter annihilation rate in 10 years of exposure would be significantly better than the present-day best limit set by Super-Kamiokande and would be comparable to that expected by Hyper-Kamiokande.

The kinematic behavior of superluminal components observed at 43 GHz in blazar 3C454.3 were model-fitted with their light curves interpreted in terms of their Doppler-boosting effect. The relation between the flux evolution of superluminal components and their accelerated/decelerated motion or the increase/decrease in their Lorentz/Doppler factor was investigated. The precessing jet-nozzle scenario previously proposed by Qian et al. (1991, 2018a, 2021) and Qian (2018b, 2022a, 2022b) was applied to consistently model-fit the kinematic behavior and light curves for two superluminal components (B4 and B6) measured by Jorstad et al. (2005). For both B4 and B6 which were ascribed respectively to the jet-A and jet-B of the double-jet structure assumed for 3C454.3, their kinematic features were well model-fitted with their bulk Lorentz factor and Doppler factor (as function of time) convincingly derived. It is shown that the light curves of the radio bursts associated with knot B4 and knot B6 can be well explained in terms of their Doppler boosting effect. Similarly, for the knot R3 observed at 15GHz (Qian et al. 2014, Britzen et al. 2013) the interpretation of its kinematic behavior and light curve is presented in the Appendix. We emphisize that the interpretation of the flux evolution of superluminal components combined with the model-fit of their kinematics is important and fruitful. This kind of combined investigation not only can greatly improve the model-simulation of their kinematics with properly selecting the model parameters (especially the bulk Lorentz factor and Doppler factor as function of time), but also their light curves can be well interpreted in terms of their Doppler-boosting effect. Therefore, we can almost completely (or perfectly) understand the physical nature of these components: their kinematic/dynamic characteristics and emission properties.

Search for Doppler-boosting effect in flux evolution of superluminal components in blazars has been an important subject, which can help clarify their kinematic and emission properties. The kinematics and flux evolution observed at 15GHz for the three superluminal components (knot-c, -i and -k) in QSO B1308+326 (z=0.997) were investigated in detail. It is shown that the precessing jet nozzle model previously proposed by Qian et al. (1991, 2014, 2017, 2022a, 2022b) can be used to fully simulate their kinematics on pc-scales with a nozzle precession period of 16.9 yr. With the acceleration/deceleration in their motion found in the model-simulation of their kinematics we can derive their bulk Lorentz factor and Doppler factor as function of time and predict their Doppler-boosting effect. Interestingly, the flux evolution of the three superluminal components can be well interpreted in terms of their Doppler-boosting effect. The full explanation of both their kinematic behavior and flux evolution validates our precessing nozzle model and confirms that superluminal components are physical entities moving relativistically toward us at small viewing angles.

High-precision light curves were extracted from TESScut images. Together with APOGEE and LAMOST medium resolution spectra, a joint study was made for six early K-type contact binary candidates selected unbiasedly with orbital periods around 0.268 days. It is found that all of them (RV CVn, EK Com, V384 Ser, V1038 Her, EH CVn, and CSS$\_$J125403.7+503945) are W-subtype shallow contact systems though with different mass ratios ($1/q$ = 0.27--0.62). The effective temperature differences between binary components are around a few hundred Kelvins. The original definition of A- and W-subtypes were compared with the customarily used methods which rely on the shape or on the photometric solutions of light curves. The latter two methods are not always reliable and therefore the radial velocity analysis is strongly recommended. Through a collection of all available K-type contact binaries with both photometric and spectroscopic measurements, it is found that almost all of them are W-subtype systems, except a few objects which have nearly identical temperatures for binary components. This W-subtype phenomenon for K-type contact binaries should be further checked with more samples in the future. Finally, the physical parameters of the targets were determined with joint data analysis and the multiplicity is discussed for these targets. V384 Ser and RV CVn are confirmed very likely to be triple systems from comprehensive analysis, while V1038 Her is a candidate of a triple system based on photometric and spectroscopic solutions.

V606 Centauri (V606 Cen) is an early B-type close binary with an orbital period of 1.4950935\,d and the complete light curves are very difficult to be observed on the ground. By analyzing the unbroken and continuous light curve obtained by TESS, we found that it is a marginal contact binary with a very low fill-out factor of about 2\%. The O-C diagram of V606 Cen is constructed for the first time based on the 118.8-years eclipse times. It is found that the O-C diagram shows a downward parabolic change together with a cyclic oscillation with an amplitude of 0.0544\, d and a period of 88.8\, yr. The downward parabolic variation reveals a linear period decrease at a rate of $dP/dt = -2.06 \times{10^{-7}} d \cdot yr^{-1}$ that can be explained by the mass transfer from the more massive component to the less massive one. Both the marginal contact configuration and the continuous period decrease suggest that V606 Cen is a newly formed contact binary via Case A mass transfer. Meanwhile, the cyclic change in the O-C diagram can be explained by the Light-Travel Time Effect via the presence of a third body. The lowest mass of the tertiary companion is determined as M$_{3}$ = 4.51($\pm0.38$)M$_{\odot}$ that is orbiting around the central eclipsing binary in a nearly circular orbit (e=0.32). All the results indicate that V606 Cen is a newly formed massive contact binary and just reaches the contact configuration during the mass transfer in a hierarchical triple system.

Super-orbital signals and negative superhumps are thought to be related to the reverse precession of the nodal line in a tilted disk, but the evidence is lacking. Our results provide new evidence for the precession of the tilted disk. Based on the TESS and K2 photometry, we investigate the super-orbital signals, negative superhumps, positive superhumps, and eclipse characteristics of the long-period eclipsing cataclysmic variable star SDSS J0812. We find super-orbital signals, negative superhumps, and positive superhumps with periods of 3.0451(5) d, 0.152047(2) d, and 0.174686(7) d, respectively, in the K2 photometry, but all disappear in the TESS photometry, where the positive superhumps are present only in the first half of the same campaign, confirming that none of them is permanently present in SDSS J0812. In addition, we find for the first time a cyclic variation of the O-C of minima, eclipse depth, and negative superhumps amplitudes for 3.045(8) d, 3.040(6) d, and 3.053(8) d in SDSS J0812, respectively, and all reach the maximum at ~ 0.75 precession phases of the tilted disk, which provides new evidence for the precession of the tilted disk. We suggest that the O-C and eclipse depth variations may come from a shift of the brightness center of the precession tilted disk. Our first finding on the periodic variation of negative superhumps amplitude with the super-orbital signals is significant evidence that the origin of negative superhumps is related to the precession of the tilted disk.

We propose a new method to detect low-energy neutrinos and low-mass dark matter at or below the MeV scale, through their coherent scatterings from freely falling heavy atoms and the resulting kinematic shifts. We start with a simple calculation for illustration: for $10^7$ heavy atoms of a mass number around 100 with a small recoil energy of 1 meV, the corresponding velocities can reach $0.01, {\rm m/s}$ and produce significant kinematic shifts that can be detected. We then show that the proposed device should be able to probe vast low-energy regions of neutrinos from meV to MeV and can surpass previous limits on sub-MeV dark matter by several orders of magnitude. Such a proposal can be useful to (1) detect sub-MeV-scale dark matter: with $10^2$ atom guns shooting downwards, for example, CsI or lead clusters consisting of $10^{7}$ atoms with a frequency around $10^3$ Hz, it can already be sensitive to scattering cross-sections at the level of $10^{-33 (-34)}\rm{cm}^{2}$ for 1 (0.1) MeV dark matter and surpass current limits. Technological challenges include high-quality atom cluster production and injections. (2) Measure coherent neutrino-nuclei scatterings at the 0.1-1 MeV region for the first time: with $10^4$ atom guns shooting downwards CsI clusters consisting of $10^{11}$ atoms and a frequency of $10^{6}$ Hz. One can expect 10 events from MeV solar neutrinos to be observed per year. Furthermore, (3) this method can be extended to probe very low-energy neutrinos down to the eV-KeV region and may be able to detect the cosmic neutrino background, although it remains challenging.

Noting the weakest modulation and relatively high metal abundance of the ab-type RR Lyrae star V838 Cyg, we collected the photometric data of this star from several sky surveys to carry out an in-depth analysis. The O-C diagram shows that the pulsation period of V838 Cyg increases linearly over a long timescale. In a reanalysis of the high-precision Kepler data, we confirmed the modulation with a period of 59.45\pm0.07 days found by Benko et al., (2014), and also found an additional weak modulation with a longer period (840\pm21 days). After a series of analyses, we incline to the view that the mechanisms causing the two modulations are different: the former is more similar to the typical Blazhko effect, while the mechanism leading to the latter may be an extrinsic factor. We also collected and compared the modulation and physical parameters of other Blazhko RR Lyrae stars from several works in the literature, and find that there is a potential negative correlation between the modulation amplitude (or upper limit of amplitude) and the metal abundance. We infer that the relatively high metal abundance will promote convection in the outer stellar atmosphere, and then inhibit those factors (turbulence, shock wave, etc.) that may cause Blazhko modulation. Future observations and research work can be carried out with reference to this viewpoint. We also introduce the moire effects that appear in the Kepler long-cadence light curves and their possible interference in the previous analyses.

The physics potential of detecting $^8$B solar neutrinos will be exploited at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), in a model independent manner by using three distinct channels of the charged-current (CC), neutral-current (NC) and elastic scattering (ES) interactions. Due to the largest-ever mass of $^{13}$C nuclei in the liquid-scintillator detectors and the {expected} low background level, $^8$B solar neutrinos would be observable in the CC and NC interactions on $^{13}$C for the first time. By virtue of optimized event selections and muon veto strategies, backgrounds from the accidental coincidence, muon-induced isotopes, and external backgrounds can be greatly suppressed. Excellent signal-to-background ratios can be achieved in the CC, NC and ES channels to guarantee the $^8$B solar neutrino observation. From the sensitivity studies performed in this work, we show that JUNO, with ten years of data, can reach the {1$σ$} precision levels of 5%, 8% and 20% for the $^8$B neutrino flux, $\sin^2θ_{12}$, and $Δm^2_{21}$, respectively. It would be unique and helpful to probe the details of both solar physics and neutrino physics. In addition, when combined with SNO, the world-best precision of 3% is expected for the $^8$B neutrino flux measurement.

The precessing jet-nozzle scenario previously proposed was applied to interpret the VLBI-measured kinematics of five superluminal components (C4,C5,C9,C10 and C22) and their flux density evolution in blazar 3C345. It is shown that in the inner-trajectory sections their kinematic properties, including trajectory, coordinates, core separation and apparent velocity can be well model-simulated by using the scenario with a precession period of 7.30yr (4.58yr in the source frame) and a precessing common trajectory, which produces the individual knot-trajectories at their corresponding precession phases. Through the model-simulation of their kinematic behavior their bulk Lorentz factor ,viewing angle and Doppler factor were derived as functions of time. These anticipatively-determined Lorentz/Doppler factors were used to investigate the knots' Doppler-boosting effect and interpret their flux evolution. It was found that the light-curves of the five superluminal components observed at 15, 22 and 43GHz were extraordinarily well coincident with their Doppler boosting profiles. Additionally, some flux fluctuations on shorter time-scales could be due to variations in knots' intrinsic flux and spectral index. The close relation between the flux evolution and the Doppler boosting effect not only firmly validates the precessing jet-nozzle scenario being fully appropriate to explain the kinematic and emission properties of superluminal components in QSO 3C345, but also strongly supports the traditioal common point-view: superluminal components are physical entities (shocks or plasmoids) participating relativistic motion toward us with acceleration/deceleration along helical trajectories.

We present the detection potential for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB) at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), using the inverse-beta-decay (IBD) detection channel on free protons. We employ the latest information on the DSNB flux predictions, and investigate in detail the background and its reduction for the DSNB search at JUNO. The atmospheric neutrino induced neutral current (NC) background turns out to be the most critical background, whose uncertainty is carefully evaluated from both the spread of model predictions and an envisaged \textit{in situ} measurement. We also make a careful study on the background suppression with the pulse shape discrimination (PSD) and triple coincidence (TC) cuts. With latest DSNB signal predictions, more realistic background evaluation and PSD efficiency optimization, and additional TC cut, JUNO can reach the significance of 3$σ$ for 3 years of data taking, and achieve better than 5$σ$ after 10 years for a reference DSNB model. In the pessimistic scenario of non-observation, JUNO would strongly improve the limits and exclude a significant region of the model parameter space.

The precessing jet-nozzle scenario has been applied to interpret the VLBI-kinematics of twenty-seven superluminal components in blazar 3C345 measured during an about 38-yr period. The superluminal knots could be ejected from a double jet-nozzle system forming a double-jet structure. Both nozzles could precess with a period of about 7.30yr and in the same direction. For both jets a steady precessing common trajectory could exist, along which different knots moved according to their precession phases. Most knots were model-simulated to be accelerated with their bulk Lorentz factor in the range of about 4 to 30 and their Lorentz/Doppler factor profiles were derived. The radio light-curves of knot C9 were well coincident with its Doppler boosting profile. The double precessing nozzle scenario has been applied to interpret the VLBI-kinematics for four blazars (3C279, OJ287, 3C454.3 and 3C345). The charateristic parameters of the four putative supermassive black hole binaries (including hole masses, orbital separation and gravitational radiation lifetime, etc.) were derived and compared, showing that they are in physically reasonable ranges, and well consistent with some theoretical arguments for close black hole binaries.

Anomalies from the LHCb lepton flavour universality and Fermilab muon anomalous magnetic momentum, show tantalizing hints of possible new physics from the lepton sectors. Due to its large mass and shorter lifetime than muon, the tau lepton is believed to couple more to possible new physics beyond the standard model. Traditionally, tau leptons are probed through the decay products due to tau's short life time. On the other hand, at a high energy scale, a large fraction of tau leptons could be boosted to a much longer life time and fly a visible distance from several centimetres up to kilometer length scale, yet very informative to new physics beyond the standard model or high energy cosmic rays. In this article, we show unique yet promising tau physics by exploiting long-lived taus as a microscope or macroscope, to measure tau's anomalous magnetic momentum to an unprecedented level of accuracy and detect high energy cosmic neutrinos at the 1 TeV to 1 PeV scale, respectively.

As the only eclipsing asynchronous polar, V1432 Aql provides an excellent laboratory to study the interaction between the accreted matter and the magnetic field. Here, we report an analysis of the X-ray data from the contemporaneous \nustar\ and \xrt\ observations. The X-ray data present a profile with a low-intensity state for almost half an orbital period, a dip at 0.6 phase, and a peak at 0.75 phase, which suggests that there was only one accretion region during the observation and the claim is supported by the spectral analysis. The comparison with the previous data indicates that the X-ray data have an orbital modulation, as the case in \sax, rather than a spin one observed in \rosat. We attribute the orbit and spin modulations to the different accretion geometries at work. The spectral analysis of the wide-band data presents a significant reflection effect, a commonly observed soft X-ray temperature, and the energy balance in V1432 Aql . Additionally, we obtained a low total accretion rate of 1.3 $\times$ 10$^{-10}$ M$_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$ and a high specific accretion rate of 3.8 g cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ which explains the strong reflection from the surface of the white dwarf. However, due to its complex emission, a more physical understanding of its accretion geometry is still outstanding.

The photometric data of several sky surveys (DASCH, MACHO, OGLE, ASAS-SN, and TESS) were used for analyses. The O-C diagram and pulsation period obtained from Fourier analysis show significant period modulations in BE Dor. However, different from the previous viewpoint, the changes are quasi-periodic and abrupt. Therefore, the light-travel time effect caused by the companion motion cannot explain the changes. Noting a same subtype star KIC 9453114 with similar phenomena has a high macroturbulent velocity, and the degree of O-C changes seem to be positively correlated with these velocities, we consider that the mechanism leading to period modulation should be caused by the interaction between turbulent convection and magnetic field activity in the ionization zone, i.e., the viewpoint of Stothers. It may not explain the general Blazhko effect but should explain such period modulations in BE Dor and those other c-type RR Lyrae stars. We hope our discoveries and viewpoints can provide some information and inspiration for relevant research.

We improved the discless accretion models of Wynn \& King, considering the effects of the changing aspect due to the white dwarf spin and the variable feeding intensity caused by the asynchronism, and set up a more general spot model which is not sensitive to the different forms of these effects and can be applied for the period analysis of the optical and X-ray light curve. The spot model can produce the power spectra compatible with the observations, and its simulations limit the ratio $P_{spin}/P_{orb}<2$ between the powers at the white dwarf spin and the binary orbital frequencies, which is a strong criterion for identification of periods. Then we recognize the periods for CD Ind, BY Cam and 1RXS J083842.1-282723. The spot model reveals a complex accretion geometry in the asynchronous polars, which may indicate that the complex magnetic field causes their asynchronism. We think 1RXS J083842.1-282723 is a pre-polars because of its highest asynchronism and stable light curve. Giving the unstable accretion process in asynchronous polars, the period analysis of the long-term light curve will make the orbital signal prominent.

As the only eclipsing asynchronous polar (AP), V1432 Aql provides an excellent laboratory to study the interaction between the accreted matter and the magnetic field. However, due to its complex emission, a more physical understanding of its accretion geometry is still outstanding. Here, we report an X-ray spectral study using contemporaneous observations from \nustar\ and \swift. We detect significant Compton reflection and confirm earlier reports of a high soft X-ray temperature $\sim52$ keV. We suggest that the multi-temperature emission is due to a distribution of the specific accretion rate over the accretion region, which leads to a continuous temperature distribution over the heated area and explains the high temperature of the soft X-rays. We interpret these characteristics as the results of the inefficient accretion in APs. Thus the accretion stream can punch deeply into the magnetosphere and feed the white dwarf (WD) over a much narrower accretion region near its equator. Additionally, the broad-band X-rays provide details of the accretion; the low total accretion rate of $\sim 1 \times 10^{-10} ~M_{\odot} ~yr^{-1}$ contradicts the speculation that V1432 Aql was a recent nova, while the high specific accretion rate of $\sim 5.6 ~g ~cm^{-2} ~s^{-1}$ explains the significant reflection from the surface of the WD.

Then, the phased light curves are calculated with the new period and the Wilson-Devinney program is applied to model the light curves, which reveal that OW Leo is a W-subtype shallow contact binary system ($q = 3.05$, $f = 12.8\,\%$). The absolute physical parameters of the two component stars are estimated to be $M_{1} = 0.31(1)M_\odot$, $M_{2} = 0.95(3)M_\odot$, $R_{1} = 0.63(1)R_\odot$, $R_{2} = 1.04(1)R_\odot$, $L_{1} = 0.43(1)L_\odot$ and $L_{2} = 1.01(2)L_\odot$. The evolutionary status show that the more massive star is less evolved than the less massive star. OW Leo has very low metal abundance, which means its formation and evolution are hardly influenced by any additional component. It is formed from an initially detached binary systems through nuclear evolution and angular momentum loss via magnetic braking, and have passed a very long time of main sequence evolution.

The results of solution show that V344 Lac is an A-subtype contact binary, with a mediate photometric mass ratio of 0.387(0.003) and a mediate contact factor of 44.6(3.0)%. Based on the parallax given by Gaia, the parameters of the components are estimated as: M1 = 1.16 Ms, M2 = 0.45 Ms, R1 = 1.31 Rs, R2 = 0.88 Rs, L1 = 2.512 Ls, L2 = 1.057 Ls. The period investigation indicates that V344 Lac may have an eccentric orbital oscillation, with P3 = 12.4(0.5) yr, A3 = 0.0020(0.0002) d, and e = 0.38(0.16). Analysis shows such oscillation would be caused by a magnetic activity which can be explained by the Applegate mechanism. Meanwhile, according to the value of l3 and the estimated physical parameters of V344 Lac, the mass of the third companion may be 0.79 Ms. This third body could be a wide company.

As a characteristic feature of generic blazars the polarization behavior of the quasi-periodic optical outbursts observed in OJ287 is investigated. The optical light-curves of the December/2015 outburst are also simulated in terms of the precessing jet nozzle model previously proposed. The polarization behavior of three primary quasi-periodic optical outbursts peaking in 1983.0, 2007.8 and 2015.8 are analyzed in order to understand the nature of their optical radiation. A two-component model has been applied, showing that the variations in flux density, polarization degree and polarization position angle can be consistently interpreted with two polarized components: one steady-component with constant polarization and one burst-component with varying polarization (e.g., relativistic shock propagating along the jet-beam axis). The flux light curves of the December/2015 outburst (including its first flare and second flare) are well model-simulated in terms of 14 elementary synchrotron sub-flares, each having a symmetric profile. The model simulations of polarization behavior for the three major outbursts (in 1983.0, 2007.8 and 2015.8) demonstrate that they all exhibit rapid and large rotations in polarization position angle, implying that they are synchrotron flares produced in the jet. Combining with the results previously obtained for interpreting the optical light curves in terms of lighthouse effect for both quasi-periodic and non-periodic outbursts, we suggest that relativistic jet models may be the most appropriate models for understanding the nature of the optical flaring radiation in blazar OJ287: its optical outbursts may comprise a number of blended "elementary synchrotron flares" , each produced by the helical motion of individual superluminal optical knots via lighhouse effect.

However, the LAMOST stellar parameters reveal that it is far beyond the red edge of pulsational instability strip on the $\log g-T$ diagram of $δ$ Scuti pulsating stars. To understand the physical properties of the variable star, we observed it by the 1.0-m Cassegrain reflecting telescope at Yunnan Observatories. Multi-color light curves in B, V, R$_{c}$ and I$_{c}$ bands were obtained and are analyzed by using the W-D program. It is found that this variable star is a shallow-contact binary with an EB-type light curve and an orbital period of 0.3781\,days rather than a $δ$ Scuti star. It is a W-subtype contact binary with a mass ratio of $1.135(\pm0.019)$ and a fill-out factor of $10.4(\pm5.6)\,\%$. The situation of ASAS J174406+2446.8 resembles those of other EB-type marginal-contact binaries such as UU Lyn, II Per and GW Tau. All of them are at a key evolutionary phase from a semi-detached configuration to a contact system predicted by the thermal relaxation oscillation theory. The linear ephemeris was corrected by using 303 new determined times of light minimum. It is detected that the O - C curve shows a sinusoidal variationthat could be explained by the light-travel-time effect via the presence of a cool red dwarf. The present investigation reveals that some of the $δ$ Scuti-type stars beyond the red edge of pulsating instability strip on the $\log g-T$ diagram are misclassified eclipsing binaries. To understand their structures and evolutionary states, more studies are required in the future.

It contains a W-subtype totally eclipsing binary, and its mass ratio and fill-out factor are $q = 3.35(1)$ and $f = 29(2)\,\%$. The absolute elements of its two component stars were determined to be $M_{1} = 0.39(2)M_\odot$, $M_{2} = 1.31(7)M_\odot$, $R_{1} = 0.77(1)R_\odot$, $R_{2} = 1.30(2)R_\odot$, $L_{1} = 0.75(3)L_\odot$ and $L_{2} = 2.00(7)L_\odot$. The period of V752 Cen is 0.37023198 day. The 0.37-d period remained constant from its first measurement in 1971 until the year 2000. However, it changed suddenly around the year 2000 and has been increasing continuously at a rate of $dP/dt=+5.05\times{10^{-7}}day\cdot year^{-1}$ since then, which can be explained by mass transfer from the less massive component star to the more massive one with a rate of $\frac{dM_{2}}{dt}=2.52\times{10^{-7}}M_\odot/year$. The period variation of V752 Cen over the 48 years in which the period has been monitored is really unusual, and is potentially related to effects from the possible presence of a nearby third star or of a pair of stars in a second binary.

Blazar OJ287 is a unique source in which optical outbursts with double-peak structure have been observed quasi-periodically with a cycle of 12yr. It may be one of the best candidates for searching supermassive black hole binaries. We investigate the connection between its optical and radio/millimeter variations and interpret the emissions in terms of relativistic jet models. Specifically, we make a detailed analysis and model simulation of the optical and radio/mm light curves for the outburst during the period of 1995.8--1996.1. It is shown that the multi-wavelength light curves at optical V-band and radio/mm wavelengths (37, 22, 14.5 and 8 GHz) can be decomposed into 36 individual elementary flares, each of which has a symmetric profile. The elementary flares can be understood to be produced through lighthouse effect due to the helical motion of corresponding superluminal optical/radio knots. Helical motion of superluminal knots should be prevailing in the inner regions of its relativistic jet formed in the magnetosphere of the putative supermassive black hole/accretion disk system. A comprehensive and compatible framework for understanding the entire phenomena in OJ287 is described.

Six mid-eclipse times of the eclipsing binary XZ And are obtained, which are analysed together with others collected from the literature. Two sets of cyclic variations with periods of 33.43 and 100.4 yr are found if a double-Keplerian model is used to fit the data. The 1:3 ratio of the periods suggests that both cyclic variations arise from dynamic motions of two companions rather than magnetic activity of the eclipsing pair. According to the double-Keplerian model, the companions have the masses of about 1.32 Msun and 1.33 Msun, respectively. Comparing the total masses of the eclipsing pair of 3.12 Msun, it is obvious that XZ And is a general N-body system. The strong gravitational perturbation between two companions invalidates the double-Keplerian model. It is strange that two Keplerian periods with a 1:3 ratio are derived from the best fits with the inappropriate model. The illogical, but interesting phenomena also appear in other two Algol systems, suggesting that our discoveries deserve attention from astronomers.

We present the complete light curves in $VRI$ bands, which photometric data were obtained with the 0.61-m telescope of PROMPT-8 at CTIO in Chile during June to October 2016 and August 2017. The photometric solutions were determined by using the W-D method and the results reveal that YZ Phe is a W-subtype shallow contact binary ($f\sim$ 10%, $q$ = 2.635 or $1/q$ = 0.379 for W subtype) with rotational motion of a large hot spot on the more massive component, showing a strong O'Connell effect with variation of maxima in photometric time series at period of 4.20 yr and stellar cycle at period of 1.28 yr. By compiling all available eclipse times, the result shows a long-term period decrease at a rate of $\mathrm{d}P/\mathrm{d}t = -2.64(\pm 0.02)\times 10^{-8}$ d $yr^{-1}$, superimposed on a cyclic variation ($A_3$ = 0.0081 days and $P_3$ = 40.76 years). This variation cannot be explained by Applegate mechanism. Thus, the cyclic change may be interpreted as light-travel time effect via the presence of a cool third body. Based on photometric solutions, the third light was detected with 2% contribution of total light in $V$ and $I$ bands. Those support the existence of a third body. For the long-term period decrease, it can be explained by mass transfer from the more massive component ($M_2 \sim 0.74 M_{\odot}$) to the less massive one ($M_1 \sim 0.28 M_{\odot}$) or plus AML via magnetic braking. With $1/q$ $<$ 0.4 and long-term period decrease, all suggest that YZ Phe is on the AML-controlled state and its fill-out factor will increase, as well as the system will evolve into a deeper normal contact binary.

The mass of its two component stars are estimated to be $M_1 = 0.45M_\odot$, $M_2 = 1.05M_\odot$. The O'Connell effect was reported to be negative on the light curves observed in 2005. However, it changed to a positive one on the light curves observed from 2011 to 2012. The mean surface temperatures of star 2 ($T_2$) determined by the two sets of light curves were different, which may result from stellar activities. The O - C diagram shows that the period of GU Ori is decreasing at a rate of $dP/dt=-6.24\times{10^{-8}}day\cdot year^{-1}$, which may be caused by mass transfer from star 2 to star 1 with a rate of $\frac{dM_{2}}{dt}= - 2.98\times{10^{-8}}M_\odot/year$. GU Ori is a contact binary with quite high metallicity.

We try to propose a tentative relativistic jet model for explaining the entire radio-optical phenomena observed in blazar OJ287, which has been observed quasi-periodically with a cycle of about 12yr in its optical light curve. We investigate the currently available theoretical and observational studies on the phenomena observed in OJ287 and try to find clues to its double-jet structure. It is found that the kinematic features of its superluminal components observed at 43GHz and 15GHz could be well interpreted in terms of a precessing double-jet nozzle model. And the light curves of a few optical double-peaked outbursts could be interpreted in terms of relativistic jet models. Both jets precess with the same period of 12yr, equal to the optical period and the precession of the jets could be originated from the orbital motion of the binary. Thus the masses of the binary black holes could be estimated. We also tentatively suggest a comprehensive framework for understanding the entire phenomena in OJ287 in terms of relativistic jet models.

Abstract:
We present a timing analysis of the eclipsing post-common envelope binary (PCEB) DE CVn. We present a timing analysis of the eclipsing post-common envelope binary (PCEB) DE CVn. Based on new CCD photometric observations and the published data, we found that the orbital period in DE CVn has a cyclic period oscillation with an amplitude of $28.08$ s and a period of $11.22$ years plus a rapid period decrease at a rate of $\dot{P}=-3.35\times10^{-11}ss^{-1}$. According to the evolutionary theory, secular period decreases in PCEBs arise from angular momentum losses (AMLs) driven by gravitational radiation (GR) and magnetic braking (MB). However, the observed orbital decay is too fast to be produced by AMLs via GR and MB, indicating that there could be other AML mechanism. We suggest that a circumbinary disk around DE CVn may be responsible for the additional AML. The disk mass was derived as a few$\times$$10^{-4}$-$10^{-3}$$M_{\odot}$ , which is in agreement with that inferred from previous studies in the order of magnitude. The cyclic change is most likely result of the gravitational perturbation by a circumbinary object due to the Applegate's mechanism fails to explain such a large period oscillation. The mass of the potential third body is calculated as $M_{3}\sin{i'}=0.011(\pm0.003)M_{\odot}$. Supposing the circumbinary companion and the eclipsing binary is coplanar, its mass would correspond to a giant planet. This hypothetical giant planet is moving in a circular orbit of radius $\sim5.75(\pm2.02)$ AU around its host star.

Four-color charge-coupled device (CCD) light curves in $B$, $V$, $Rc$ and $Ic$ bands of the total-eclipsing binary system, V1853 Ori, are presented. By comparing our light curves with those published by previous investigators, it is detected that the O'Connell effect on the light curves is disappeared. By analyzing those multi-color light curves with the Wilson-Devinney code (W-D code), it is discovered that V1853 Ori is an A-type intermediate-contact binary with a degree of contact factor of $f=33.3\%(3.7\%)$ and a mass ratio of $q=0.1896(0.0013)$. Combining our 10 new determined times of light minima together with the others published in the literature, the period changes of the system is investigated. We found that the general trend of the observed-calculated $(O-C)$ curve shows a downward parabolic variation that corresponds to a long-term decrease in the orbital period with a rate of $dP/dt=-1.96(0.46)\times{10^{-7}}$ d yr$^{-1}$. The long-term period decrease could be explained by mass transfer from the more-massive component to the less-massive one. By combining our photometric solutions with the Gaia DR 2 data, absolute parameters were derived as $M_{1}$ = 1.20 M$_{\odot}$, $M_{2}$ = 0.23 M$_{\odot}$, $R_{1}$ = 1.36 R$_{\odot}$, and $R_{2}$ = 0.66 R$_{\odot}$. The long-term period decrease and the intermediate-contact configuration suggest that V1853 Ori will evolve into a high fill-out overcontact binary.

TY Pup is a well-known bright eclipsing binary in southern hemisphere with an orbital period of 0.8192 days. New light curves in $B, V, (RI)_C$ bands were obtained with the 0.61-m reflector robotic telescope (PROMPT-8) at CTIO in Chile from January to February 2015 and from March to April 2017. By analyzing those photometric data with the W-D method, it is found that TY Pup is a low-mass-ratio ($q \sim$ 0.184) and deep contact binary with a high fill-out factor ($84.3\,\%$). An investigation of all available times of minimum light including three new ones obtained with the 60-cm and the 1.0-m telescopes at Yunnan Observatories in China indicates that the period change of TY Pup is complex. An upward parabolic variation in the $O-C$ diagram is detected to be superimposed on a cyclic oscillation. The upward parabolic change reveals a long-term continuous increase in the orbital period at a rate of $\mathrm{d}P/\mathrm{d}t = 5.57(\pm 0.08)\times10^{-8}$ d $\textrm{yr}^{-1}$. The period increase can be explained by mass transfer from the less massive component ($M_2 \sim 0.3 M_{\odot}$) to the more massive one ($M_1 \sim 1.65 M_{\odot}$) and the mass ratio of the binary system will become more smaller. In this way, the binary will be merging when it meets the criterion that the orbital angular momentum is less than 3 times the total spin angular momentum, i.e., $J_{orb} < 3J_{rot}$. This suggests that the system will finally merge into a rapid-rotating single star and may produce a luminous red nova. The cyclic oscillation in the $O-C$ diagram can be interpreted by the light-travel time effect (LITE) via the presence of an additional companion.

New photometric observations of NSVS 01286630 were performed and two sets of four-color (B, V , Rc, Ic) light curves (LCs) were obtained. Using the 2013 version of the Wilson-Devinney (W-D) code, we analyzed these data. The photometric solutions reveal that NSVS 01286630 is an active detached eclipsing binary (EB) with a high orbit inclination. Remarkably, the temperature of the primary component (the hotter star) is higher than the secondary one, but, the value of mass ratio q(M2/M1) for NSVS 0128663 is more than 1, which can be explained that the surface of the secondary component of NSVS 01286630 is covered with big cool-star-spots. Based on our new CCD mid-eclipse times and the data published until now, the variations of the mid-eclipse times were reanalyzed in detail using a weighted least-squares method. It is discovered that the (O-C) diagram of the system shows a cyclic oscillation with a period of 3.61 yr and an amplitude of 0.001 days. The cyclic variation may be caused by the light travel time effect (LTTE) due to the presence of a third companion, whose mass we calculated is about 0.11 solar mass. The third body may affect the orbital evolution of the central binary system by transferring the angular momentum.
