The Amati relation (the $E_{\rm p,i}$-$E_{\rm iso}$ correlation) are calibrated at $z<1.4$ by a Gaussian Process from the latest observational Hubble data (OHD) with the cosmic chronometers method to obtain GRBs at high-redshift $z\ge1.4$ which can be used to constrain cosmological models via the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method. From the cosmology-independent GRBs with the GOLD sample at $z\ge1.4$ and the Pantheon+ sample of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) at $0.01<z\leq2.3$, we obtain $Ω_{\rm m} = 0.354\pm0.018, H_0 = 73.05\pm0.2 \rm km/s/Mpc$ for the flat $Λ$CDM model; $w_0 = -1.22^{+0.18}_{-0.15}$ for the flat $w$CDM model; and $w_{a} = -1.12^{+0.45}_{-0.83}$ for the flat Chevallier-Polarski-Linder model at the 1$σ$ confidence level. Our results with the GOLD and FULL sample are almost identical, which are more stringent than the previous results with GRBs.

In this paper, we use quasars calibrated from type Ia supernova (SN Ia) to constrain cosmological models. We consider three different X-ray luminosity ($L_{X}$) - ultraviolet luminosity ($L_{UV}$) relations of quasars, i.e., the standard $L_{X}$-$L_{UV}$ relation and two redshift-evolutionary relations (Type I and Type II) respectively constructed from copula and considering a redshift correction to the luminosity of quasars. Only in the case of the Type I relation, quasars can always provide effective constraints on the $Λ$CDM model. Furthermore, we show that, when the observational Hubble data (OHD) are added, the constraints on the absolute magnitude $M$ of SN Ia and the Hubble constant $H_0$ can be obtained. In the $Λ$CDM model, the OHD measurements plus quasars with the Type I relation yields $M$ =$-19.321^{+0.085}_{-0.076}$, which is in good agreement with the measurement from SH0ES ($M=-19.253\pm{0.027}$), and $H_0$ = $70.80\pm3.6~\mathrm{km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}}$, falling between the measurements from SH0ES and the Planck cosmic microwave background radiation data.

In this work, we investigate the phenomenologically emergent dark energy (PEDE) model and its generalized form, namely the generalized emergent dark energy (GEDE) model, which introduces a free parameter \unboldmath {\( Δ\)} that can discriminate between the \unboldmath{$\mathrmΛ$}CDM model and the PEDE model. Fitting the emergent dark energy (EDE) models with the observational datasets including the cosmology-independent gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) at high-redshift and the observational Hubble data (OHD), we find a large value of $H_0$ which is close to the results of local measurement of $H_0$ from the SH0ES Collaboration in both EDE models. These results suggest that PEDE and GEDE models can %serve as an important supplement and be possible alternative to the standard cosmological model, pending further theoretical explorations and observational verifications.

In this paper, we calibrate the luminosity relation of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) with the machine learning (ML) methods for reconstructing distance-redshift relation from the Pantheon+ sample of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) in a cosmology-independent way. The A219 GRB data set at low redshift are used to calibrate the Amati relation ($E_{\rm p}$-$E_{\rm iso}$) relation by the ML methods selected with the best performance %and the calibrated results are extrapolated to the high redshift data to construct the Hubble diagram at high redshift. We constrain cosmological models via the Markov Chain Monte Carlo numerical method with the GRBs at high redshift and the latest observational Hubble data (OHD). By the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) methods, we obtain $Ω_{\rm m}$ = $0.29^{+0.09}_{-0.06}$, $h$ = $0.66^{+0.04}_{-0.07}$ , $w_0$ = $-0.83^{+0.66}_{-0.31}$, $w_a$ = $-0.91^{+0.87}_{-0.46}$ at 1-$σ$ confidence level for the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) model in a flat space, which favor the dark energy with a possible evolution ($w_a\neq0$) at 1-$σ$. The Akaike and Bayes information criterions indicate that the quasar data support strongly the three-dimensional $L_X-L_{UV}$ relation. Our results show that the quasars can be regarded as a reliable indicator of the cosmic distance if the $L_X-L_{UV}$ relation from copula is used to calibrate quasar data.

By using the Pantheon type Ia supernova sample to calibrate the latest A220 GRB data set, the GRB Hubble diagram is obtained model-independently. We find that at the high redshift region ($z>1.4$) the GRB distance modulus from the improved Amati correlation is larger apparently than that from the standard Amati one. The GRB data from the standard Amati correlation only give a lower bound limit on the present matter density parameter $Ω_{\mathrm{m0}}$, while the GRBs from the improved Amati correlation constrain the $Ω_{\mathrm{m0}}$ with the $68\%$ confidence level to be $0.308^{+0.066}_{-0.230}$ and $0.307^{+0.057}_{-0.290}$ in the $Λ$CDM and $w$CDM models, respectively, which are consistent very well with those given by other current popular observational data including BAO, CMB and so on. Once the $H(z)$ data are added in our analysis, the constraint on the Hubble constant $H_0$ can be achieved. We find that two different correlations provide slightly different $H_0$ results but the marginalized mean values seem to be close to that from the Planck 2018 CMB observations.

Applying these GRB data to constrain the $Λ$CDM model, we find that the improved Amati correlation from copula can give a result well consistent with $Ω_\mathrm{m0}=0.3$, while the standard Amati and extended Amati correlations do not. This results suggest that when the improved Amati correlation from copula is used in the low-redshift calibration method, the GRB data can be regarded as a viable cosmological explorer. However, the Bayesian information criterion indicates that the standard Amati correlation remains to be favored mildly since it has the least model parameters. Furthermore, once the simultaneous fitting method rather than the low-redshift calibration one is used, there is no apparent evidence that the improved Amati correlation is better than the standard one. Thus, more works need to be done in the future in order to compare different Amati correlations.

In order to test if there is energy transfer between dark energy and dark matter, we investigate cosmological constraints on two forms of nontrivial interaction between the dark matter sector and the sector responsible for the acceleration of the universe, in light of the newly revised observations including OHD, CMB, BAO and SNe Ia. More precisely, we find the same tendencies for both phenomenological forms of the interaction term $Q=3γHρ$, i.e., the parameter $γ$ to be a small number, $|γ|\approx 10^{-2}$. However, concerning the sign of the interaction parameter, we observe that $γ>0$ when the interaction between dark sectors is proportional to the energy density of dust matter, whereas the negative coupling ($γ<0$) is preferred by observations when the interaction term is proportional to dark energy density. We further discuss two possible explanations to this incompatibility and apply a quantitative criteria to judge the severity of the coincidence problem. Results suggest that the $γ_m$IDE model with a positive coupling may alleviate the coincidence problem, since its coincidence index $C$ is smaller than that for the $γ_d$IDE model, the interacting quintessence and phantom models by four orders of magnitude.

In order to avoid bias brought by redshift incoincidence between observational data and to consider redshift error bars of both clusters and SNe Ia in analysis, we carefully choose the SNe Ia points which have the minimum acceptable redshift difference of the galaxy cluster sample ($|Δz|_{\rm min} =σ_{z, \rm SN}+σ_{z, \rm cluster}$). By assuming $η$ a constant and functions of the redshift parameterized by six different expressions, we find that there exists no conceivable evidence for variations in the DD relation concerning with observational data, since it is well satisfied within $1σ$ confidence level for most cases. Further considering different values of $Δz$ in constraining, we also find that the choosing of $Δz$ may play an important role in this model-independent test of the distance-duality relation for the spherical sample of galaxy clusters.

By using the Markov chain Monte Carlo method, we constrain the phenomenological interacting dark energy model with the newly revised $H(z)$ data, as well as the cosmic microwave background (CMB) observation from the 7-year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP7) results, the baryonic acoustic oscillation (BAO) observation from the spectroscopic Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data release 7 (DR7) galaxy sample and the type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) from Union2 set. The best-fit values of the model parameters are $Ω_{m0}=0.27_{-0.02}^{+0.02}(1σ)_{-0.03}^{+0.04}(2σ)$, $ξ=3.15_{-0.50}^{+0.48}(1σ)_{-0.71}^{+0.72}(2σ)$, and $w_X=-1.05_{-0.14}^{+0.15}(1σ)_{-0.21}^{+0.21}(2σ)$, which are more stringent than previous results. These results show that the standard $Λ$CDM model without any interaction remains a good fit to the recent observational data; however, the interaction that the energy transferring from dark matter to dark energy is slightly favored over the interaction from dark energy to dark matter. It is also shown that the $H(z)$ data can give more stringent constraints on the phenomenological interacting scenario when combined to CMB and BAO observations, and the confidence regions of $H(z)$+BAO+CMB, SNe+BAO+CMB, and $H(z)$+SNe+BAO+CMB combinations are consistent with each other.

In this paper, we constrain the Cardassian expansion models from the latest observations including the updated Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which calibrated cosmology-independently from the Union2 compilation of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). By combining the GRB data to the joint observations with the Union2 SNe Ia set, along with the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation observation from the seven-year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe result, the baryonic acoustic oscillation observation from the spectroscopic Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release galaxy sample, we find significant constraints on model parameters of the original Cardassian model $Ω_{\rm M0}=0.282_{-0.014}^{+0.015}$, $n= 0.03_{-0.05}^{+0.05}$; and $n= -0.16_{-3.26}^{+0.25}$, $β=0.76_{-0.58}^{+0.34}$ of the modified polytropic Cardassian model, which are consistent with the $Λ$CDM model in 1-$σ$ confidence region. From the reconstruction of the deceleration parameter $q(z)$ in Cardassian models, we obtain the transition redshift $z_{\rm T}=0.73\pm{0.04}$ for the original Cardassian model, and $z_{\rm\rm T}=0.68\pm{0.04}$ for the modified polytropic Cardassian model.

For the use of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) to probe cosmology in a cosmology-independent way, a new method has been proposed to obtain luminosity distances of GRBs by interpolating directly from the Hubble diagram of SNe Ia, and then calibrating GRB relations at high redshift. In this paper, following the basic assumption in the interpolation method that objects at the same redshift should have the same luminosity distance, we propose another approach to calibrate GRB luminosity relations with cosmographic fitting directly from SN Ia data. In cosmography, there is a well-known fitting formula which can reflect the Hubble relation between luminosity distance and redshift with cosmographic parameters which can be fitted from observation data. Using the Cosmographic fitting results from the Union set of SNe Ia, we calibrate five GRB relations using GRB sample at $z\leq1.4$ and deduce distance moduli of GRBs at $1.4< z \leq 6.6$ by generalizing above calibrated relations at high redshift. Finally, we constrain the dark energy parameterization models of the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) model, the Jassal-Bagla-Padmanabhan (JBP) model and the Alam model with GRB data at high redshift, as well as with the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB) and the baryonic acoustic oscillation (BAO) observations, and we find the $Λ$CDM model is consistent with the current data in 1-$σ$ confidence region.

Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been regarded as standard candles at very high redshift for cosmology research. We have proposed a new method to calibrate GRB distance indicators with Type Ia supernova (SNe Ia) data in a completely cosmology-independent way to avoid the circularity problem that had limited the direct use of GRBs to probe cosmology [N. Liang, W. K. Xiao, Y. Liu, and S. N. Zhang, Astrophys. J. 685, 354 (2008).]. In this paper, a simple method is provided to combine GRB data into the joint observational data analysis to constrain cosmological models; in this method those SNe Ia data points used for calibrating the GRB data are not used to avoid any correlation between them. We find that the $Λ$CDM model is consistent with the joint data in the 1-$σ$ confidence region, using the GRB data at high redshift calibrated with the interpolating method, the Constitution set of SNe Ia, the cosmic microwave background radiation from Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe five year observation, the baryonic acoustic oscillation from the spectroscopic Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 galaxy sample, the x-ray baryon mass fraction in clusters of galaxies, and the observational Hubble parameter versus redshift data. Comparing to the joint constraints with GRBs and without GRBs, we find that the contribution of GRBs to the joint cosmological constraints is a slight shift in the confidence regions of cosmological parameters to better enclose the $Λ$CDM model. Finally, we reconstruct the acceleration history of the Universe up to $z>6$ with the distance moduli of SNe Ia and GRBs and find some features that deviate from the $Λ$CDM model and seem to favor oscillatory cosmology models; however further investigations are needed to better understand the situation.

The results show that GRBs can be an optional observation to constrain on the Cardassian models. Combining the GRBs data with the newly derived size of baryonic acoustic oscillation peak from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), and the position of first acoustic peak of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB) from Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), we find $Ω_{m0}=0.27_{-0.02}^{+0.02}, n=0.06_{-0.08}^{+0.07}$ ($1σ$) for the original Cardassian model, and $Ω_{m0}=0.27^{+0.03}_{-0.02}$, $n=-0.09_{-1.91}^{+0.23}, β=0.82_{-0.62}^{+2.10}$ ($1σ$) for the modified polytropic Cardassian model.

A phase-plane analysis shows that the phantom-dominated scaling solution is the stable late-time attractor of this type of models. We find that during the evolution of the universe, the equation of state $w$ changes from $w > -1$ to $w <-1$, which is consistent with the recent observations.

Since objects at the same redshift should have the same luminosity distance and the distance moduli of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) obtained directly from observations are completely cosmology independent, we obtain the distance modulus of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) at a given redshift by interpolating or iterating from the Hubble diagram of SNe Ia. Then we calibrate five GRB relations without assuming a particular cosmological model, from different regression methods, and construct the GRB Hubble diagram to constrain cosmological parameters. Based upon these relations we list the cosmology-independent distance moduli of 42 GRBs between redshift of 1.44 and 6.60, with the 1-$σ$ uncertainties of 1-3%.

An important concern in the application of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) to cosmology is that the calibration of GRB luminosity/energy relations depends on the cosmological model, due to the lack of a sufficient low-redshift GRB sample. In this paper, we present a new method to calibrate GRB relations in a cosmology-independent way. Since objects at the same redshift should have the same luminosity distance and since the distance moduli of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) obtained directly from observations are completely cosmology independent, we obtain the distance modulus of a GRB at a given redshift by interpolating from the Hubble diagram of SNe Ia. Then we calibrate seven GRB relations without assuming a particular cosmological model and construct a GRB Hubble diagram to constrain cosmological parameters. From the 42 GRBs at $1.4<z\le6.6$, we obtain $Ω_{\rm M}=0.25_{-0.05}^{+0.04}$, $Ω_Λ=0.75_{-0.04}^{+0.05}$ for the flat $Λ$CDM model, and for the dark energy model with a constant equation of state $w_0=-1.05_{-0.40}^{+0.27}$, which is consistent with the concordance model in a 1-$σ$ confidence region.
