In this work, we have reconstructed the extended $f(\mathcal{P})$ cubic gravity and symmetric $f(\mathcal{Q})$ teleparallel gravity from $(m,n)$-type Barrow Holographic Dark Energy (BHDE) and find the unknown functions $f(\mathcal{P})$ and $f(\mathcal{Q})$ in terms of $\mathcal{P}$ and $\mathcal{Q}$ by taking the universe to be flat, homogeneous and isotropic. We then analyzed the behavior and stability of each model for the entire stages of the evolution of the universe by studying several important parameters such as the deceleration parameter, equation of state (EoS) parameter $ω_{DE}$, square of the speed of sound $v_s^2$. Apart from this, we have studied the cosmographic behavior by plotting the jerk parameter, snap parameter, and lerk parameter against the redshift. We have also examined the $ω'_{DE}-ω_{DE}$ phase plane and $(r,s^*)$, $(r,q)$ statefinder parameters that provide valuable insights into the dynamics of the universe and the distinctive features of the dark energy. All these analyses pointed out that our model can produce a universe going through an accelerated expansion with the quintessence type dark energy.

Our aim is to constrain essential cosmological parameters, such as the Hubble Parameter ($H_{0}$) and Sound Horizon ($r_{d}$). We utilize late-time datasets: 17 Baryon Acoustic Oscillation observations, 33 Cosmic Chronometer measurements, 40 Type Ia Supernovae data points, 24 quasar Hubble diagram data points, and 162 Gamma Ray Bursts data points, along with the latest determination of the Hubble constant (R22). Treating $r_{d}$ as a free parameter offers several advantages, including mitigating bias, enhancing precision, and improving compatibility with various datasets. By introducing random correlations in the covariance matrix during simulation, errors are effectively reduced. Our estimated values of the Hubble constant ($H_0$) and $r_{d}$ consistently align with measurements from both the Planck and SDSS experiments. Cosmographic tests provide valuable insights into the dynamics of various cosmological models, enriching our understanding of cosmic evolution. Statefinder diagnostics offer deeper insights into cosmic expansion dynamics, aiding in distinguishing between cosmological frameworks. Furthermore, the $o_{m}$ diagnostic test reveals that at late times, VMMG falls into the phantom region, while GCCM falls into the quintessence region. The Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) support all models, indicating plausible explanations. Notably, the $Λ$CDM model emerges with the lowest AIC score, suggesting its relatively superior fit. Validation via the reduced $χ_{\text{red}}^{2}$ statistic confirms satisfactory fits across all models, reinforcing their credibility.

Polytropic stars are useful tools to learn about stellar structure without the complexity of comprehensive stellar models. These models rely on a certain power-law correlation between the star's pressure and density. This paper proposes a polytropic star model to investigate some new features in the context of $5\mathcal{D}$ Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) gravity using the Finch-Skea {\em ansatz} [{\em M. R. Finch and J. E. Skea, Classical and Quantum Gravity 6, 467 (1989)}]. Analytical results are better described by graphical representations of the physical parameters for various values of Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant $α$. The solution for a specific compact object, EXO 1785 - 248, with radius $\mathfrak{R} = 8.849_{-0.04}^{+0.04}$ km and mass $\mathcal{M} = 1.3 \pm 0.02~\mathcal{M}_{\odot}$, is shown here. We analyze the essential physical attributes of the star, which reveal the influence of the coupling parameter $α$ on the values of the parameters. Ultimately, we have concluded that our current model is realistic because it satisfies all the physical criteria for an acceptable model.

We treat $r_{d}$ as a free parameter, aiming to extract $H_{0}$ and $r_{d}$ using late-time datasets and obtain optimal fitting values for each parameter in every model. The benefits of treating $r_{d}$ as a free parameter include reduced bias, improved precision, and enhanced dataset compatibility. The resulting values of $H_{0}$ and $r_{d}$ are relative to the $Λ$CDM model, showcasing alignment with early Planck and SDSS estimations. We additionally minimize errors by simulating random correlations in the covariance matrix. Furthermore, the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) support all models, with the $Λ$CDM model exhibiting the lowest AIC. Evaluation via reduced chi-square statistic confirms reasonable fits for all models. While $Λ$CDM remains favored, extensions warrant further investigation. This study underscores the importance of exploring alternative cosmological models to deepen our understanding of the universe's fundamental properties and evolution. Continued refinement of models is essential for advancing cosmological research.

We investigate the strong gravitational lensing phenomena caused by a black hole with a dark matter halo. In this study, we examine strong gravitational lensing with two significant dark matter models: the universal rotation curve model and the cold dark matter model. To do this, we first numerically estimate the strong lensing coefficients and strong deflection angles for both the universal rotation curve and cold dark matter models. It is observed that the deflection angle, denoted as $α_D$, increases with the parameter $α$ while holding the value of $γ\cdot 2M$ constant. Additionally, it increases with the parameter $γ\cdot 2M$ while kee** the value of $α$ constant. The strong deflection angle, $α_D$, for the black hole with a dark matter halo, with parameters $α=0$ and $γ\cdot 2M$, greatly enhances the gravitational bending effect and surpasses the corresponding case of the standard Schwarzschild black hole ($A=0, B=0, α=0, γ\cdot 2M=0$). Furthermore, we investigate the astrophysical consequences through strong gravitational lensing observations, using examples of various supermassive black holes such as $M87^{*}$ and $SgrA^{*}$ located at the centers of several galaxies. It is observed that black holes with dark matter halos can be quantitatively distinguished and characterized from the standard Schwarzschild black hole ($A=0, B=0, α=0, γ\cdot 2M=0$). The findings in our analysis suggest that observational tests for black holes influenced by dark matter halos are indeed feasible and viable.

In our study, we have adopted the framework of Horava-Lifshitz gravity to model the Universe's dark matter and dark energy components. Specifically, we have considered two recent parametrizations for dark energy models: the CBDRM-type and CADMM-type parameterizations. In our analysis, we have explicitly expressed the Hubble parameter, denoted as $H(z)$, for these two distinct dark energy models. By doing so, we have aimed to investigate and quantify the accelerated cosmic expansion rate characterizing the late-time Universe. Our study uses a wide range of datasets. This dataset consists of recent measurements of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) collected over a period of twenty years with the Cosmic Chronometers (CC) dataset, Type Ia supernovae (SNIa) dataset, the Hubble diagram of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), quasars (Q), and the latest measurement of the Hubble constant (R22). Consequently, we present a crucial aspect of our study by plotting the $r_{d}$ vs. $H_{0}$ plane. In the context of the $Λ$CDM model, after incorporating all the datasets, including the R22 prior, we obtain the following results: $H_{0}$ = $71.674089 \pm 0.734089$ $km s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}$ and $r_d = 143.050380 Mpc \pm 3.702038$. For the CBDRM model, we find $H_{0}$ = $72.355058 \pm 1.004604$ $km s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}$ and $r_d = 144.835069 Mpc \pm 2.378848$. In the case of the CADMM model, our analysis yields $H_{0}$ = $72.347804 \pm 0.923328$ $km s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}$ and $r_d = 144.466836 Mpc \pm 4.288758$. We have conducted cosmographic analyses for both of the proposed parameterizations in comparison to the $Λ$CDM paradigm. Additionally, we have applied Diagnostic tests to investigate the evolution of both models. Finally, the Information Criteria test demonstrates that the $Λ$CDM model emerges as the preferred choice among the models we have considered.

Influence of the modified Bardeen black hole parameters q, g, and the parameter $μ$ on the shadow radius of the black hole have been investigated numerically and graphically. Recently, EHT collaboration observed the image and shadow of supermassive black holes $M87^*$ and $SgrA^*$ where the shadow angular diameter $θ_d=42\pm3$ for $M87^*$ and $θ_d=51.8\pm2.3$ for $SgrA^*$. The modified black hole parameters q and $μ$ for the fixed value of g have been constrained by the EHT collaboration data for the angular shadow diameter of $M87^*$ and $SgrA^*$. It has been observed that the constrain ranges of the parameters $μ$ and $q$ of modified Bardeen black hole as $-0.89\leq μ/8M^2 \leq 0.4$ and $0\leq |q|\leq 0.185$ for $M87^*$; and $-1.38\leq μ/8M^2 \leq 0.1$ and $0\leq |q|\leq 0.058$ for $SgrA^*$, kee** the fixed value $g/2M=0.2$. In this paper, we first analyze the horizon structure of the Van der Waals(VdW) black hole and then investigate its shadow in the absence of a plasma medium as well as the presence of a homogeneous plasma medium. We find that both the Van der Waals parameters $a$ and $b$ have a significant effect on the shadow of the black hole. We also observe that the radius of the shadow in a homogeneous plasma medium decreases while parameter $σ=\frac{ω_p}{ω_{\infty}}$ ( the ratio of plasma frequency and photon frequency) increases and the radius of the shadow inhomogeneous plasma medium is larger than the vacuum medium. We also discuss the strong gravitational lensing in a homogeneous plasma medium. We observe that the photon sphere radius, deflection limit coefficients and deflection angle in the strong field are highly affected by the presence of a homogeneous plasma medium. We also find that the deflection angle in the strong field limit by the Van der Waals black hole with the homogeneous plasma is greater than that of the Vacuum medium. Further, we discuss the observables quantities angular position $θ_{\infty}$, separation $S$ and magnification $r_{mag}$ by taking the example of a supermassive black hole in the strong field limit with the effects of homogeneous plasma. It is concluded that the Van der Waals parameters $a$, $b$ and homogeneous plasma medium have a significant effect on both the shadows and strong gravitational lensing.

Associated with the scalar field model, we have determined the Hubble parameter as a generating function in terms of the scalar field. Instead of hyperbolic function, we have taken Jacobi elliptic function and Abel function in the generating function and obtained modified Chaplygin-Jacobi gas (MCJG) and modified Chaplygin-Abel gas (MCAG) equation of states, respectively. Next, we have assumed that the universe filled in dark matter, radiation, and dark energy. The sources of dark energy candidates are assumed as MCJG and MCAG. We have constrained the model parameters by recent observational data analysis. Using $χ^{2}$ minimum test (maximum likelihood estimation), we have determined the best fit values of the model parameters by OHD+CMB+BAO+SNIa joint data analysis. To examine the viability of the MCJG and MCAG models, we have determined the values of the deviations of information criteria like $\triangle$AIC, $\triangle$BIC and $\triangle$DIC. The evolutions of cosmological and cosmographical parameters (like equation of state, deceleration, jerk, snap, lerk, statefinder, Om diagnostic) have been studied for our best fit values of model parameters. To check the classical stability of the models, we have examined the values of square speed of sound $v_{s}^{2}$ in the interval $(0,1)$ for expansion of the universe.

From Stern data set (12 points)\& SNe Type Ia 292 data (from \cite{Riess1,Riess2,Astier}) we have obtained the bounds of the arbitrary parameters by minimizing the $χ^{2}$ test. The best-fit values of the parameters are obtained by 66\%, 90\% and 99\% confidence levels. Next due to joint analysis with Stern+BAO and Stern+BAO+CMB observations, we have also obtained the bounds of the parameters ($A,B$) by fixing some other parameters $α$, $w_{m}$ and $ω$. The mass of the BTZ BH has been calculated and we have observed that the mass of the BTZ BH is related with square root of the energy density of dark energy which accretes onto BH in our accelerating FRW universe. We have assumed modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) as a candidate of dark energy which accretes onto BH and we have found the expression of BTZ BH mass. Since in our solution of MCG, this model generates only quintessence dark energy (not phantom) and so BTZ BH mass increases during the whole evolution of the accelerating universe. Next we have assumed 5 kinds of parametrizations of well known dark energy models. These models generate both quintessence and phantom scenarios i.e., phantom crossing models. So if these dark energies accrete onto the BTZ BH, then in quintessence stage, BH mass increases upto a certain value (finite value) and then decreases to a certain finite value for phantom stage during whole evolution of the universe. We have shown these results graphically.

We find the modified Friedmann equations and then from the equations we find the effective density and pressure for Einstein-Aether gravity sector. These can be treated as dark energy provided some restrictions on the free function $F(K)$, where $K$ is proportional to $H^{2}$. Assuming two types of the power law solutions of the scale factor, we have reconstructed the unknown function $F(K)$ from HDE and NADE and their entropy-corrected versions (ECHDE and ECNADE). We also obtain the EoS parameter for Einstein-Aether gravity dark energy. For HDE and NADE, we have shown that the type I scale factor generates the quintessence scenario only and type II scale factor generates phantom scenario. But for ECHDE and ECNADE, the both types of scale factors can accommodate the transition from quintessence to phantom stages i.e., phantom crossing is possible for entropy corrected terms of HDE and NADE models. We have shown that the Einstein's field equations can be obtained from Unified first law i.e., field equations and unified first law are equivalent. The first law of thermodynamics has also been constructed by Unified first law. From this, the variation of entropy function has been derived on the horizon. The variation of entropy function inside the horizon has been derived using Gibb's law of thermodynamics. So the total variation of entropy function has been constructed at apparent and event horizons both. If we do not assume the first law, then the entropy on the both horizons can be considered by area law and the variation of total entropy has been found at both the horizons. Also the validity of generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics has been examined at both apparent and event horizons by using the first law and the area law separately. When we use first law of thermodynamics and Bekenstein-Hawking area law of thermodynamics, the GSL for apparent horizon in any dimensions are satisfied, but the GSL for event horizon can not be satisfied in any dimensions.

We present the Hubble parameter in terms of the observable parameters $Ω_{m0}$, $Ω_{x0}$ and $H_{0}$ with the redshift $z$ and the other parameters like $A$, $B$, $C$ and $α$. From Stern data set (12 points), we have obtained the bounds of the arbitrary parameters by minimizing the $χ^{2}$ test. The best-fit values of the parameters are obtained by 66%, 90% and 99% confidence levels. Next due to joint analysis with BAO and CMB observations, we have also obtained the bounds of the parameters ($B,C$) by fixing some other parameters $α$ and $A$. From the best fit of distance modulus $μ(z)$ for our theoretical MCG model in LQC, we concluded that our model is in agreement with the union2 sample data.

In this work, we have considered interacting dynamical model taking variable modified Chaplygin gas which plays as dark energy coupled to cold dark matter in the flat FRW universe. Since the nature of dark energy and dark matter is still unknown, it is possible to have interaction between them and we choose the interaction term in phenomenologically. We have converted all the equations in the dynamical system of equations by considering the dimensionless parameters and seen the evolution of the corresponding autonomous system. The feasible critical point has been found and for the stability of the dynamical system about the critical point, we linearize the governing equation around the critical point. We found that there exists a stable scaling (attractor) solution at late times of the Universe and found some physical range of $n$ and the interaction parameter $c$. We have shown that for our calculated physical range of the parameters, the Universe explores upto quintessence stage. The deceleration parameter, statefinder parameters, Hubble parameter and the scale factor have been calculated around the critical point. Finally some consequences around the critical point i.e., the distance measurement of the Universe like lookback time, luminosity distance, proper distance, angular diameter distance, comoving volume, distance modulus and probability of intersecting objects have been analyzed before and after the present age of the Universe.

We have considered the universe filled with dark matter and dark energy. Also we have considered the equation of state parameters for open, closed and flat models. We have observed that in all cases the equation of state behaves like quintessence. The temperature and heat capacity of the universe are found to decrease with the expansion of the universe in all cases. In Brans-Dicke and $f(R)$ gravity theories the squared speed of sound is found to exhibit increasing behavior for open, closed and flat models and in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity theory it is found to exhibit decreasing behavior for open and closed models with the evolution of the universe. However, for flat universe, the squared speed of sound remains constant in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity.

In this work, we have assumed the generalized Vaidya solution in Lovelock theory of gravity in $(n+2)$-dimensions. It has been shown that Gauss-Bonnet gravity, dimensionally continued Lovelock gravity and pure Lovelock gravity can be constructed by suitable choice of parameters. We have investigated the occurrence of singularities formed by the gravitational collapse in above three particular forms of Lovelock theory of gravity. The dependence of the nature of singularity on the existence of radial null geodesic for Vaidya space-time has been specially considered. In all the three models, we have shown that the nature of singularities (naked singularity or black hole) completely depend on the parameters. Choices of various parameters are shown in tabular form. In Gauss-Bonnet gravity theory, it can be concluded that the possibility of naked singularity increases with increase in dimensions. In dimensionally continued Lovelock gravity, the naked singularity is possible for odd dimensions for several values of parameters. In pure Lovelock gravity, only black hole forms due to the gravitational collapse for any values of parameters. It has been shown that when accretion is taking place on a collapsing object, it is highly unlikely to get a black hole. Finally on considering the phantom era in the expanding universe it is observed that there is no possibility of formation of a black hole if we are in the Gauss-Bonnet gravity considering the accreting procedure upon a collapsing object.

We have considered that the universe is the inhomogeneous $(n+2)$ dimensional quasi-spherical Szekeres space-time model. We consider the universe as a thermodynamical system with the horizon surface as a boundary of the system. To study the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics through the universe, we have assumed the trapped surface is the apparent horizon. Next we have examined the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics (GSL) on the apparent horizon by two approaches: (i) using first law of thermodynamics on the apparent horizon and (ii) without using the first law. In the first approach, the horizon entropy have been calculated by the first law. In the second approach, first we have calculated the surface gravity and temperature on the apparent horizon and then horizon entropy have found from area formula. The variation of internal entropy have been found by Gibb's law. Using these two approaches separately, we find the conditions for validity of GSL in $(n+2)$ dimensional quasi-spherical Szekeres model.

In this work, we have described the Brans-Dicke theory of gravity and given a particular solution by choosing a power law form of scalar field $φ$ and constant $ω$. If we assume first law and entropy formula on apparent horizon then we recover Friedmann equations. Next, assuming first law of thermodynamics, the validity conditions of GSL on event horizon are presented. Also without use first law, if we impose the entropy relation on the horizon, then we also obtain the condition of validity of GSL on event horizon. The validity of GSL completely depends on the model of BD scalar field solutions. We have justified that on the apparent horizon the two process are equivalent, but on the event horizon they are not equivalent. If first law is valid on the event horizon then GSL may be satisfied in BD solution, but if first law is not satisfied then GSL is not satisfied in BD solution. So first law always favours GSL on event horizon. In our effective approach, the first law and GSL is always satisfied in apparent horizon, which do not depend on BD theory of gravity.

In this work, we have investigated the validity of GSL of thermodynamics in a universe (open, closed and flat) governed by Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity. If the universe contains barotropic fluid the corresponding solutions have been obtained. The validity of GSL have been examined by two approaches: (i) robust approach and (ii) effective approach. In robust approach, we have considered the universe contains only matter fluid and the effect of the gravitational sector of HL gravity was incorporated through the modified black hole entropy on the horizon. Effective approach is that all extra information of HL gravity into an effective dark energy fluid and so we consider the universe contains matter fluid plus this effective fluid. This approach is essentially same as the Einstein's gravity theory. The general prescription for validity of GSL have been discussed. Graphically we have shown that the GSL may be satisfied for open, closed and flat universe on the different horizons with different conditions.

We have considered a cosmological model of holographic dark energy interacting with dark matter and another unknown component of dark energy of the universe. We have assumed two interaction terms $Q$ and $Q'$ in order to include the scenario in which the mutual interaction between the two principal components (i.e., holographic dark energy and dark matter) of the universe leads to some loss in other forms of cosmic constituents. Our model is valid for any sign of $Q$ and $Q'$. If $Q<Q'$, then part of the dark energy density decays into dark matter and the rest in the other unknown energy density component. But if $Q>Q'$, then dark matter energy receives from dark energy and from the unknown component of dark energy. Observation suggests that dark energy decays into dark matter. Here we have presented a general prescription of a cosmological model of dark energy which imposes mutual interaction between holographic dark energy, dark matter and another fluid. We have obtained the equation of state for the holographic dark energy density which is interacting with dark matter and other unknown component of dark energy. Using first law of thermodynamics, we have obtained the entropies for holographic dark energy, dark matter and other component of dark energy, when holographic dark energy interacting with two fluids (i.e., dark matter and other component of dark energy). Also we have found the entropy at the horizon when the radius ($L$) of the event horizon measured on the sphere of the horizon. We have investigated the GSL of thermodynamics at the present time for the universe enveloped by this horizon. Finally, it has been obtained validity of GSL which implies some bounds on deceleration parameter $q$.

My research work can be classified into two parts namely, (i) Cosmological phenomena with varying speed of light and (ii) Gravitational collapse and black holes.
We have investigated several cosmological phenomena when velocity of light varies with time. We have considered the variation of light as power-law in time and have studied the Brans-Dicke cosmology, Quintessence problem and others. We have also examined whether some cosmological problems can be solved using it for anisotropic space-time model.
In brane scenario we have studied some cosmological implications namely, the Cosmic No-Hair Conjecture (CNHC) and variable gravity theory. In CNHC we have shown that in realistic situation no more extra conditions are needed in brane scenario.
In gravitational collapse, we have mainly concentrated to spherical collapse for dust distribution. We have considered both four and higher dimensional space-time and have examined the possibility for formation of black hole or naked singularity. In marginally bound case we have found naked singularity is possible only for four and five dimension, while for non-marginally bound case the possibility of black hole increases with the increase in the dimension of the space-time.
In quasi-spherical gravitational collapse for dust distribution, we have (n+2) dimensional Szekeres space-time and have examined the possibility for formation of black hole or naked singularity. In marginally bound case, we have found that possibility of naked singularity depends on dimension of the space-time.

It is well known that when a fermion propagates in curved space-time, its spin couples to the curvature of background space-time. We propose that this interaction for neutrinos propagating in early curved universe could give rise to a new set of dispersion relations and then neutrino asymmetry at equilibrium. We demonstrate this with the Bianchi models which describe the homogeneous but anisotropic and axially symmetric universe. If the lepton number violating processes freeze out at 10^{-37} second when temperature T ~ 10^{15} GeV, neutrino asymmetry of the order of 10^{-10} can be generated. A net baryon asymmetry of the same magnitude can thus be generated from this lepton asymmetry either by a GUT B-L symmetry or by the electro-week sphaleron processes which have B+L symmetry.
