The atmosphere of Triton was probed directly by observing a ground-based stellar occultation on 6 October 2022. This rare event yielded 23 positive light curves collected from 13 separate observation stations contributing to our campaign. The significance of this event lies in its potential to directly validate the modest pressure fluctuation on Triton, a phenomenon not definitively verified by previous observations, including only five stellar occultations, and the Voyager 2 radio occultation in 1989. Using an approach consistent with a comparable study, we precisely determined a surface pressure of $14.07_{-0.13}^{+0.21}~\mathrm{μbar}$ in 2022. This new pressure rules out any significant monotonic variation in pressure between 2017 and 2022 through direct observations, as it is in alignment with the 2017 value. Additionally, both the pressures in 2017 and 2022 align with the 1989 value. This provides further support for the conclusion drawn from the previous volatile transport model simulation, which is consistent with the observed alignment between the pressures in 1989 and 2017; that is to say, the pressure fluctuation is modest. Moreover, this conclusion suggests the existence of a northern polar cap extended down to at least $45^\circ$N$-60^\circ$N and the presence of nitrogen between $30^\circ$S and $0^\circ$.

Here we present well sampled $R$-band lightcurves of both the 2013 and 2023 eruptions of this system. The photometric evolution of each eruption was quite similar as expected for the same progenitor system. The 2013 and 2023 eruptions each reached peak magnitudes just brighter than $R\sim16$, with fits to the declining branches of the eruptions yielding times to decline by two magnitudes of $t_2(R)=5.5\pm1.7$ and $t_2(R)=3.4\pm1.5$ days, respectively. M31N 2013-10c has an absolute magnitude at peak, $M_R=-8.8\pm0.2$, making it the most luminous known recurrent nova in M31.

In this paper, a total of approximately 2.6 million dwarfs were constructed as standard stars, with an accuracy of about 0.01-0.02 mag for each band, by combining spectroscopic data from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope Data Release 7, photometric data from the corrected Gaia Early Data Release 3, and photometric metallicities. Using the spectroscopy based stellar color regression method (SCR method) and the photometric-based SCR method (SCR' method), we performed the relative calibration of the Nanshan One-meter Wide-field Telescope imaging data. Based on the corrected Pan-STARRS DR1 photometry, the absolute calibration was also performed. In the photometric calibration process, we analyzed the dependence of the calibration zero points on different images (observation time), different gates of the CCD detector, and different CCD positions. We found that the stellar flat and the relative gain between different gates depend on time. The amplitude of gain variation in three channels is approximately 0.5%-0.7% relative to the other channel, with a maximum value of 4%. In addition, significant spatial variations of the stellar flat fitting residual are found and corrected. Using repeated sources in the adjacent images, we checked and discovered internal consistency of about 1-2 mmag in all the filters. Using the PS1 magnitudes synthesized by Gaia DR3 BP/RP spectra by the synthetic photometry method, we found that the photometric calibration uniformity is about 1-2 mmag for all the bands, at a spatial resolution of 1.3 degree. A detailed comparison between the spectroscopy-based SCR and photometric-based SCR method magnitude offsets was performed, and we achieved an internal consistency precision of about 2 mmag or better with resolutions of 1.3 degree for all the filters. Which is mainly from the position-dependent errors of the E(B-V) used in SCR' method.

The Stellar Abundances and Galactic Evolution Survey (SAGES) of the northern sky is a specifically-designed multi-band photometric survey aiming to provide reliable stellar parameters with accuracy comparable to those from low-resolution optical spectra. It was carried out with the 2.3-m Bok telescope of Steward Observatory and three other telescopes. The observations in the $u_s$ and $v_s$ passband produced over 36,092 frames of images in total, covering a sky area of $\sim9960$ degree$^2$. The median survey completeness of all observing fields for the two bands are of $u_{\rm s}=20.4$ mag and $v_s=20.3$ mag, respectively, while the limiting magnitudes with signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of 100 are $u_s\sim17$ mag and $v_s\sim18$ mag, correspondingly. We combined our catalog with the data release 1 (DR1) of the first of Panoramic Survey Telescope And Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS1, PS1) catalog, and obtained a total of 48,553,987 sources which have at least one photometric measurement in each of the SAGES $u_s$ and $v_s$ and PS1 $grizy$ passbands, which is the DR1 of SAGES and it will be released in our paper. We compare our $gri$ point-source photometry with those of PS1 and found an RMS scatter of $\sim2$% in difference of PS1 and SAGES for the same band. We estimated an internal photometric precision of SAGES to be on the order of $\sim1$%. Astrometric precision is better than $0^{\prime\prime}.2$ based on comparison with the DR1 of Gaia mission. In this paper, we also describe the final end-user database, and provide some science applications.

The clarity of nights is the major factor that should be carefully considered for optical/infrared astronomical observatories in site-testing campaigns. Cloud coverage is directly related to the amount of time available for scientific observations at observatories. In this article, we report on the results of detailed night-time cloud statistics and continuous observing me derived from ground-based all-sky cameras at the Muztagh-ata site from 2017 to 2021. Results obtained from acquisition data show that the proportion of the annual observing me at the Muztagh-ata site is 65%, and the best period with the least cloud coverage and longer continuous observing time is from September to February. We made a comparison of the monthly mean observing nights obtained from our all-sky cameras and CLARA dataset, results show that the discrepancy between them may depend on the cloud top heights. On average, this site can provide 175 clear nights and 169 nights with at least 4 hours of continuous observing time per year.

KIC 10417986 is a short orbital period (0.0737 d) ellipsoidal variable star with a δ Scuti and γ Doradus hybrid pulsations component discovered by Kepler. The ground-based spectroscopic observations were carried out in the winters of 2020 and 2021 to investigate the binary nature of this star. We derive the orbital parameters using the rvfit code with a result of K1 = 29.7 $\pm$ 1.5 km/s, γ = -18.7 $\pm$ 1.7 km/s, and confirm an orbital period of 0.84495 d instead of the result given by Kepler. The atmospheric parameters of the primary are determined by the synthetic spectra fitting technique with the estimated values of Teff = 7411 $\pm$ 187 K, log g = 4.2 $\pm$ 0.3 dex, [M/H] = 0.08 $\pm$ 0.09 dex and vsini = 52 $\pm$ 11 km/s. KIC 10417986 is a circular orbit binary system. From the single-lined nature and mass function of the star, the derived orbital inclination is 26 $\pm$ 6°, and the mass of the secondary is from 0.43 to 0.7 M_sun, which should be a late-K to early-M type star. Fourteen frequencies are extracted from Kepler light curves, of which six independent frequencies in the high-frequency region are identified as the p-mode pulsations of δ Scuti star, and one independent frequency in the low-frequency region (f2 = 1.3033 c/d) is probably the rotational frequency due to the starspots rather than the ellipsoidal effect or g-mode of γ Doradus.

The measurement was obtained with Differential Image Motion Monitor (DIMM) from April 2017 to November 2018 at different heights during different periods. The median seeing at 11 meters and 6 meters are very close but different significantly from that on the ground. We mainly analyzed the seeing at 11 meters monthly and hourly, having found that the best season for observing was from late autumn to early winter and seeing tended to improve during the night only in autumn. The analysis of the dependence on temperature inversion, wind speed, direction also was made and the best meteorological conditions for seeing is given.

We present the revised and high quality CCD time series observations in 2017 and 2018 of the W UMa-type contact binary BH~Cas. The combination of our new determinations of minimum times and those collected from the literatures reveal a long-term period increase with a rate of $\textit{dP/dt}\,=\,+3.27 \times 10^{-7} \textrm{d}\,\textrm{yr}^{-1}$, which can be accounted for by angular momentum transfer as the less-massive component loses its mass to the more massive one. One cyclical oscillation ($A'=0.00300$~days and $P'=20.09$~yrs) superimposed on the long-term period increase tendency is attributed to one additional object that orbits BH Cas. The low-resolution spectra of this source are observed at phase $\sim$0.0 and $\sim$0.5 in 2018 and 2019, and the spectral types are identified as K3V$\,\pm\,$1 and G8V$\,\pm\,$2. According to the luminosity contributions and spectra at these phases, the spectral type of the primary star is close to K3V$\,\pm\,$1. We infer a cool spot on the hotter and less-massive component to fit the asymmetry of light curves. In addition, changes in the location, temperature, and area of spots on the secondary star in different observations may indicate that the magnetic field activity of the secondary is more active than that of the primary. Such strong spot activities and optical flare are both detected at the same time from a W UMa-type star for the first time. With the \emph{XMM-Newton} observations taken in 2003 and 2012, the X-ray light curve is obtained and the X-ray spectra can be well described with a black-body or a bremsstrahlung model. The soft X-ray luminosity of BH Cas is estimated as 8.8\,--\,9.7$\,\times\,10^{30}$\,erg\,s$^{-1}$.

We carried out photometric observations of the SX Phe star BL Cam in 2014, 2017 and 2018 using Nanshan 1-m telescope. In addition to the dominated frequency of 25.5790(3) cd$^{-1}$ and its two harmonics, an independent frequency of 25.247 (2) cd$^{-1}$, which is a nonradial mode frequency, was detected from the data in 2014. A total of 123 new times of light maxima were determined from our light curves in the three years, which, together with that published in the literature, were used to analyze the $O$$-$$C$ diagram. The change rate of the main period was derived as (1/P)(dP/dt) = -2.39 (8)$\times$10$^{-8}$ yr$^{-1}$, which is lower than that published in previous literature. A periodical change with a period of 14.01 (9) yr was found in the residuals of the $O$$-$$C$ curve fitting. If it was caused by the light-time effect, BL Cam should be a binary system. The mass of the companion was restricted as low as that of a brown dwarf. No evidence of the triple system suggested by previous authors was shown in our analysis.

Understanding the sources of lunar water is crucial for studying the history of lunar evolution, and also the solar wind interaction with the Moon and other airless bodies. Recent observations revealed lunar hydration is very likely a surficial dynamic process driven by solar wind. Solar wind is shielded over a period of 3-5 days as the Moon passes through the Earth's magnetosphere, during which a significant loss of hydration is expected from previous works. Here we study lunar hydration inside the magnetosphere using orbital spectral data, which unexpectedly found that the polar surficial OH/H2O abundance remains at the same level when in the solar wind and in the magnetosphere. We suggest that particles from the magnetosphere (Earth wind, naturally different from solar wind) contribute to lunar hydration. From lunar orbital plasma observations, we find the existence of optimal energy ranges, other than 1 keV as previously thought, for surface hydration formation. These optimal energy ranges deduced from space observations may provide strong implications for laboratory experiments simulating lunar hydration processes.
