Noise characterization for co-propagation of classical and CV-QKD signals over fiber and free-space link
Abstract: Real-time CV-QKD receiver achieves peak 2.9 Mbit/s secret-key-rates over 12.8 km of fiber, while co-propagating 15 classical channels, separated 1 nm from the quantum signal. Performance degrades at higher launch powers due to crosstalk.

Co-propagation of Classical and Continuous-variable QKD Signals over a Turbulent Optical Channel with a Real-time QKD Receiver
Abstract: We demonstrate classical and quantum signal co-propagation over a turbulent free-space channel with 3 Tbit/s throughput and record 2.7 Mbit/s secret-key rate. Our real-time GPU-based receiver assessed quantum signal integrity under different turbulence scenarios for the first time.

Adaptive Reconciliation for Experimental Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution Over a Turbulent Free-Space Optical Channel
Abstract: We experimentally demonstrate adaptive reconciliation for continuous-variable quantum key distribution over a turbulent free-space optical channel. Additionally, we propose a method for optimising the reconciliation efficiency, increasing secret key rates by up to 8.1%.

Alignment of Free-Space Coupling of Few-Mode Fibre to Multi-Mode Fibre using Digital Holography
Abstract: Off-axis digital holography is used to align a few-mode fiber to a multi-mode fiber in a free-space optical setup. Alignment based on power coupling measurements alone cannot guarantee low mode-dependent loss. The proposed alignment method enables reliable fiber coupling with low mode-dependent loss and crosstalk.

Kramers-Kronig Receiver Combined With Digital Resolution Enhancer
Abstract: A Kramers-Kronig receiver with a continuous wave tone added digitally at the transmitter is combined with a digital resolution enhancer to limit the increase in transmitter quantization noise. 1 Tbit/s/$λ$ Transmission Over a 130 km Link Consisting of Graded-Index 50 $μ$m Core Multi-Mode Fiber and 6LP Few-Mode Fiber
Abstract: We demonstrate 1 Tbit/s/$λ$ single-span transmission over a heterogeneous link consisting of graded-index 50 $μ$m core multi-mode fiber and 6LP few-mode fiber using a Kramers-Kronig receiver structure. Furthermore, the link budget increase by transmitting only three modes while employing more than three receivers is investigated.

Experimental validation of MDL emulation and estimation techniques for SDM transmission systems
Abstract: We experimentally validate a mode-dependent loss (MDL) estimation technique employing acorrection factor to remove the MDL estimation dependence on the SNR when using a minimum meansquare error (MMSE) equalizer. A reduction of the MDL estimation error is observed for both transmitter-side and in-span MDL emulation.

Exploiting Angular Multiplexing for Polarization-diversity in Off-axis Digital Holography
Abstract: Digital holography measures the complex optical field and transfer matrix of a device, polarization-diversity is often achieved through spatial multiplexing. We introduce angular multiplexing, to increase flexibility in the optical setup. Comparatively, similar values for cross-talk and mode-dependent loss are measured for a photonic lantern.

Real-time, Software-Defined, GPU-Based Receiver Field Trial
Abstract: We demonstrate stable real-time operation of a software-defined, GPU-based receiver over a metropolitan network. Massive parallelization is exploited for implementing direct-detection and coherent Kramers-Kronig detection in real time at 2 and 1 GBaud, respectively.

First Transmission of a 12D Format Across 3 Coupled Spatial Modes of a 3-Core Coupled-Core Fiber at a Spectral Efficiency of 4 bits/s/Hz
Abstract: We demonstrate the first transmission of a new twelve-dimensional modulation format over a three-core coupled-core multicore fiber. The format occupies a single time slot spread across all three linearly-coupled spatial modes and shows improved MI and GMI after transmission compared to PDM-QPSK.

First Experimental Demonstration of Probabilistic Enumerative Sphere Sha** in Optical Fiber Communications

Experimental Demonstration of Eight-dimensional Modulation Formats for Long-haul Optical Transmission
Abstract: Two novel 5.5 bit/4D modulation formats are experimentally demonstrated to transmit over 9680 km of SSMF. A reach increase of 29.4% over the 6 bit/4D PM-8QAM is shown. Furthermore, increased nonlinear tolerance with respect to PM-8QAM is shown.

11,700 km Transmission at 4.8 bit/4D-sym via Four-dimensional Geometrically-shaped Polarization-Ring-Switching Modulation
Abstract: Using a novel geometrically-shaped four-dimensional modulation format, we transmitted 11x200 Gbit/s DWDM at 4.8 bit/4D-sym over 7,925 km and 11,700 km using EDFA-only and hybrid amplification, respectively. A reach increase of 16% is achieved over PM-8QAM.
