The Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg (EEH) black hole model is an extension of classical black hole solutions in general relativity, incorporating quantum electrodynamics (QED) effects via the Euler-Heisenberg Lagrangian. The Euler-Heisenberg Lagrangian describes the nonlinear corrections to Maxwell's equations due to virtual electron-positron pair production in a strong electromagnetic field. When this Lagrangian is coupled with Einstein's field equations, it leads to modified black hole solutions that took into account these quantum corrections. In this paper, we investigate the impact of the screening parameter, acting as an effective dielectric constant endowed in a vacuum due to such QED effects, on the properties of the rotating and electrically charged Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg black holes (EEH). To this aim, we analyzed and discussed findings as to how the screening parameter, being positive or negative, affects certain black hole properties such as null regions, shadow cast and its observables, and quasinormal modes (QNMs) relative to the Kerr and Kerr-Newman cases. We find that the presence of a screened charge due to the associated QED effects in this screened Maxwell theory might noticeably alter the properties of black holes, offering insights into the interplay between gravity and quantum field effects.

We study the phase separation kinetics of miktoarm star polymer (MSP) melts and blends with diverse architectures using dissipative particle dynamics simulations. Our study focuses on symmetric and asymmetric miktoarm star polymer (SMSP/AMSP) mixtures based on arm composition and number. For a fixed MSP chain size, the characteristic microphase-separated domains initially show diffusive growth with a growth exponent $φ\sim 1/3$ for both melts that gradually crossover to saturation at late times. The simulation results demonstrate that the evolution morphology of SMSP melts exhibits perfect dynamic scaling with varying arm numbers; the time scale follows a power-law decay with an exponent $θ\simeq 1$ as the number of arms increases. The structural constraints on AMSP melts cause the domain growth rate to decrease as the number of one type of arms increases while their length remains fixed. This increase in the number of arms for AMSP corresponds to increased off-criticality. The saturation length in AMSP follows a power law increase with an exponent $λ\simeq 2/3$ as off-criticality decreases. Additionally, macrophase separation kinetics in SMSP/AMSP blends show a transition from viscous ($φ\sim 1$) to inertial ($φ\sim 2/3$) hydrodynamic growth regimes at late times; this exhibits the same dynamical universality class as linear polymer blends, with slight deviations at early stages.

It is found that the presence of Lorentz symmetry breaking due to the Bumblebee field favours Hod's conjecture. But in the case of the Gauss-Bonnet term, an increase in the coupling parameter increases the chances of violation of Hod's conjecture. We further investigated the optical properties of the black hole {\it viz.}, shadow and emission rate. It is found that a black hole with a lower lifetime favours Hod's conjecture.

We examine the behavior of non-commutative Schwarzschild black holes in the context of massive gravity. According to the investigation, corresponding to a minimal mass, the black hole can have two horizons, one horizon, or no horizon at all. Our results imply the existence of a stable black hole remnant, whose mass can be uniquely calculated in terms of the non-commutative parameter $θ$ and gravity mass $m$. Thermodynamic features such as heat capacity and Hawking temperature are studied. We also examine a scalar linear perturbation on the black hole. Quasinormal frequencies are computed via Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin(WKB) method with Pade improvement. All quasinormal frequencies considered in this work have a negative imaginary part. In the eikonal limit, we investigate the angular velocity and the Lyapunov exponent as a function of $M/\sqrtθ$. Additionally, we explore the black hole's shadow across various model parameters. Our findings indicate that non-commutativity leads to a reduction in the black hole's shadow, with this effect exhibiting a nonlinear relationship. Furthermore, we observe that the inclusion of a massive graviton in the theory results in an increase in the black hole's shadow radius, particularly at greater observer distances.

This research paper presents a black hole solution with a rational non-linear electrodynamics source in the Rastall gravity framework. The paper analyzes the thermodynamic properties of the solution in normal phase space and explores its critical behavior. The phase structure is examined using the extended first law of thermodynamics, with the cosmological constant $Λ$ serving as pressure $P$. The isotherms exhibit van der Waals behavior at small values of horizon $r_+$. The paper also investigates the Gibbs free energy behavior and finds two critical points with two pressures where the reentrant phase transition occurs and disappears. On the other hand, we explore the prevalent microstructure of black holes in Ruppeiner geometry, uncovering significant deviations in the nature of particle interactions from conventional practice. Moreover, the thermodynamic geometry is analyzed using the Ruppeiner formalism, with the normalized Ricci scalar indicating possible point-phase transitions of the heat capacity, and the normalized extrinsic curvature having the same sign as the normalized Ricci scalar. The three-phase transitions of the heat capacity are those that we find for the normalized Ruppeiner curvatures. Thus, there is an absolute correspondence.

To validate the results of quasinormal modes, time domain profiles are also investigated. We found that with an increase in the magnetic charge of the black hole, the ring-down gravitational wave increases non-linearly and dam** rate decreases non-linearly. The presence of magnetic charge also results in a decrease in the black hole shadow non-linearly. It is found that for large values of the coupling parameter, the black hole changes to a solitonic solution and the corresponding ring-down gravitational wave frequency increases slowly with a decrease in the dam** rate. For the solitonic solutions, the shadow is also smaller. The constraints on the model parameters calculated using shadow observations of M87* and Sgr A* and an approximate analytic relation between quasinormal modes and shadow at the eikonal limit is discussed.

We present a stable model for quark stars in Rastall-Rainbow (R-R) gravity. The structure of this configuration is obtained by utilizing an interacting quark matter equation of state. The R-R gravity theory is developed as a combination of two distinct theories, namely, the Rastall theory and the gravity's rainbow formalism. Depending on the model parameters ($\barλ, η, Σ$), the mass-radius relations are numerically computed for modified Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equations with proper boundary conditions. The stability of equilibrium configuration has been checked through the static stability criterion, adiabatic index and the sound velocity. Our calculations predict larger maximum masses for quark stars, and the obtained results are compatible with accepted masses and radii values, including constraints from GW190814 and GW170817 events in all the studied cases.

By considering the concept of the modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) as a single fluid model unifying dark energy and dark matter, we construct a static, spherically charged black hole (BH) solution in the framework of General Relativity. The $P-V$ criticality of the charged anti-de Sitter (AdS) BH with a surrounding MCG is explored in the context of the extended phase space, where the negative cosmological constant operates as a thermodynamical pressure. This critical behavior shows that the small/large BH phase transition is analogous to the van der Waals liquid/gas phase transition. Accordingly, along the $P-V$ phase spaces, we derive the BH equations of state and then numerically evaluate the corresponding critical quantities. Similarly, critical exponents are identified, along with outcomes demonstrating the scaling behavior of thermodynamic quantities near criticality into a universal class. The use of \emph{geometrothermodynamic} (GT) tools finally offers a new perspective on discovering the critical phase transition point. At this stage, we apply a class of GT tools, such as Weinhold, Ruppeiner, HPEM, and Quevedo classes I and II. The findings are therefore non-trivial, as each GT class metric captures at least either the physical limitation point or the phase transition critical point. Overall, this paper provides a detailed study of the critical behavior of the charged AdS BH with surrounding MCG.

In this work, we present a thermodynamical study of a Rindler modified Schwarzschild black hole under the consideration of small thermal fluctuations. In particular, we compute various stable macroscopic thermodynamic variables such as Hawking temperature, entropy, Helmholtz free energy, internal energy, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy. To explore the effects of small statistical thermal fluctuations on stable thermodynamical parameters, we estimated the corrections to the various thermodynamical potentials of Rindler modified Schwarzschild black hole up to the first (leading) order and do a comparative study for the different values of correction parameter and Rindler acceleration parameter for fixed values of a cosmological constant. In this study, we examine the stability of black holes in the presence of thermal fluctuations. We find that when the correction parameter is positive, small-sized black holes remain stable, while large-sized ones become unstable. Conversely, when the correction parameter is negative, both small and large black holes exhibit instability. Additionally, we demonstrate that the first law of thermodynamics remains valid even in the presence of thermal fluctuations.

In this work, we have studied the quasinormal mode, greybody factors, and absorption cross section of de Sitter Reissner-Nordström black hole surrounded by quintessence field in Rastall gravity. The violation of energy-momentum conservation has a non-linear effect on the quasinormal modes. With an increase in the black hole charge, both real parts of quasinormal modes i.e. oscillation frequency of ring-down Gravitational Waves (GWs) and dam** or decay rate of GWs increase non-linearly. A similar observation is made for the black hole structural parameter also, however in this case the variation is almost linear. The remnant mass of a black hole depends on different physical parameters of a black hole. In the case of greybody factors also, we observed that both parameters have similar impacts. With an increase in these parameters, greybody factors decrease. Moreover, the null geodesics and the impact of Rastall gravity on the light trajectory are also investigated. Our study suggests that the presence of a surrounding quintessence field may shadow the existence of black hole charges in such black hole configurations.

By using observational data from Hubble, Pantheon, and Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) dataset, we investigate the constraints on the proposed quadratic Hubble parameter $H(z)$. This proposal caused the Universe to transition from its decelerated phase to its accelerated phase. Further, the current constrained value of the deceleration parameter from the combined Hubble+Pantheon+BAO dataset is $q_{0}=-0.285\pm 0.021$, which indicates that the Universe is accelerating. We also analyze the evolution of energy density, pressure, and EoS parameters to infer the Universe's accelerating behavior. Finally, we use a stability analysis with linear perturbations to assure the model's stability.

Symmergent gravity is an emergent gravity framework in which gravity emerges guided by gauge invariance, accompanied by new particles, and reconciled with quantum fields. In this paper, we perform a detailed study of the quasinormal modes and greybody factors of the black holes in symmergent gravity. Its relevant parameters are the quadratic curvature term $c_{\rm O}$ and the vacuum energy parameter $α$. In our analyses, effects of the both parameters are investigated. Our findings suggest that, in both positive and negative direction, large $|c_{\rm O}|$ values of the parameter on the quasinormal modes parallel the Schwarzschild black hole. Moreover, the quasinormal model spectrum is found to be sensitive to the symmergent parameter $α$. We contrast the asymptotic iteration and WKB methods in regard to their predictions for the quasinormal frequencies, and find that they differ (agree) slightly at small (large) multipole moments. We analyze time-domain profiles of the perturbations, and determine the greybody factor of the symmergent black hole in the WKB regime. The symmergent parameter $α$ and the quadratic curvature term $c_{\rm O}$ are shown to impact the greybody factors significantly. We provide also rigorous limits on greybody factors for scalar perturbations, and reaffirm the impact of model parameters.

Borrowing ideas from quasitopological gravities provide a matter source of dyonic fields, in which the black hole solution carries two charges, electric and magnetic, in the context of the EGB gravity. However, due to several limitations of the EGB gravity in $D \rightarrow 4$, we consider a Horndeski gravity theory which can mimic EGB gravity in $D \rightarrow 4$. The essential practice used in this paper is the electromagnetic quasinormal modes process, with the goal of discovering the spectrum of such an electromagnetic perturbation over the black hole spacetime. This paper deals with the thermodynamics, Joule-Thomson expansion and optical behaviour of a Reissner-Nordström-anti-de Sitter black hole in Rastall gravity surrounded by a quintessence field. The black hole solution obtained in this framework is different from a corresponding black hole in General Relativity. The black hole metric function, as well as the Hawking temperature, is affected by the presence of energy-momentum conservation violation. The presence of energy-momentum conservation violation also affects the isenthalpic and inversion temperature curves, and with an increase in the Rastall parameter, the inversion temperature rises slowly. The impacts of other parameters, such as charge, structural constant etc., are investigated and compared. The black hole shadow, as well as the energy emission rate of the black hole, decreases with an increase in the Rastall parameter. Hence, the black holes evaporate slowly in presence of energy-momentum conservation violation.

This work investigates the impacts of energy-momentum conservation violation on the configuration of strange stars constraint with gravitational wave (GW) event GW190814 as well as eight recent observations of compact objects. The GW echoes from these interesting classes of compact objects are also calculated. To describe the matter of strange stars, we have used two different equations of state (EoSs): first an ad-hoc exotic EoS, the stiffer MIT Bag model and next realistic CFL phase of quark matter EoS. We choose Rastall gravity as a simple model with energy-momentum conservation violation with a set of model parameter values. Our results show that this gravity theory permits stable solutions of strange stars and the resulting structures can foster GW echoes. We illustrate the implication of the gravity theory and found that the negative values of the Rastall parameter result in more compact stellar configurations and lower GW echo frequency. With an increase in the Rastall parameter, both the compactness of the stellar configurations and echo time decrease. It is worth mentioning here that with the chosen set of some probable strange star candidates from observational data and also in light of GW 190814, we have evaluated the radii of stellar models. Also, the GW echo frequencies associated with strange stars are found to be in the range of {$\approx 9-27$ kHz} for both cases. {From this work, it is also inferred that the assumption regarding the equivalence of Rastall's theory to Einstein's theory is refuted as we have noticed many deviations in the physical properties of the considered compact stars.

We utilize the Ishihara \etal method to derive the deflection angle of light for an observer and source located at finite distances from a lens object in an asymptotically flat spacetime, using the Gauss-Bonnet theorem. The deflection angle exhibits an increasing trend up to a certain point, followed by a decrease as a function of the impact parameter, with the presence of the axion matter field causing the observed increase. Additionally, we calculate the Einstein ring radius as a direct application of the weak deflection angle. We also investigate the effect of the axion matter field on the time delay of light and analyze its impact on the shadow cast by slowly rotating black holes. On the basis of homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) geometry, solutions to the issues of cosmic acceleration and dark energy are being put forth within the context of $f\left( Q\right)$ gravity. We take into account a power law $f(Q)$ model using $f\left( Q\right) =αQ^{n}$, where $α$ and $n$ are free model parameters. In the current scenario, we may establish the energy density and pressure for our $f(Q)$ cosmic model by applying the constant sound speed parameterizations, i.e., $\vartheta_{s}^{2}=β$, where a barotropic cosmic fluid is described in terms of $β$. The field equations are then derived, and their precise solutions are established. We obtain the constraints on the model parameters using the updated Hubble (Hz) data sets consisting of 31 data points, the recently published Pantheon samples (SNe) with 1048 points, and Baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) data sets. We also examine the physical behaviour of the deceleration parameter, the equation of state (EoS) parameter, the statefinder diagnostic, and the Om diagnostic. We conclude that our $f\left( Q\right) $\ cosmic model predicts a transition in the universe from deceleration to acceleration. In this work, we have studied the quasinormal modes of a black hole in a model of the type $f(Q)=\underset{n}{\sum}a_{n}\left(Q-Q_{0}\right)^{n} $ in $f(Q)$ gravity by using a recently introduced method known as Bernstein spectral method and confirmed the validity of the method with the help of well known Padé averaged higher order WKB approximation method. Here we have considered scalar perturbation and electromagnetic perturbation in the black hole spacetime and obtained the corresponding quasinormal modes. We see that for a non-vanishing nonmetricity scalar $Q_0$, quasinormal frequencies in scalar perturbation are greater than those in electromagnetic perturbation scenarios. On the other hand, the dam** rate of gravitational waves is higher for electromagnetic perturbation. To confirm the quasinormal mode behaviour, we have also investigated the time domain profiles for both types of perturbations.

In this work we investigate a Schwarzschild-type black hole that is corrected by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) and possesses topological defects within the framework of Bumblebee gravity. Our focus is on the thermodynamic characteristics of the black hole, such as temperature, entropy and heat capacity, which vary as functions of the horizon radius, and also on shadow as an optical feature. Our investigation reveals significant changes in the thermodynamic behavior of the black hole due to violations of Lorentz symmetry, GUP corrections, and the presence of monopoles. However, the shadow of the black hole is unaffected by violations of Lorentz symmetry. In addition, we provide a limit on the parameters of Lorentz symmetry violation, GUP and topological defects based on a classical test involving the precession of planetary orbits and the advancement of perihelion in the solar system.

The current study aims to examine the impact of the boundary term on the bending angle of light for a static spherically symmetric black hole in the modified gravity described by the $f(\mathcal{T}, \mathcal{B})$ function. To accomplish this objective, we employ the Ishihara \textit{et al.}~method, which enables us to compute the deflection angle of light for a receiver and source situated at finite distances from a lens object in a non-asymptotically flat spacetime. This method considers the receiver's viewpoint, and the resulting deflection angle diverges as the distance from the lens object increases, owing to the non-asymptotically flat spacetime. Nevertheless, the divergence can be regulated by the boundary term parameter $c_0$. For lower values of the parameter $c_0$, the divergence can be minimized within the finite range of the observer and source. Furthermore, we calculate the quasinormal modes of massless scalar perturbations in the black hole's background using the asymptotic iteration method (AIM) and Padé averaged sixth-order Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation method. Our findings indicate that the real quasinormal modes and dam** rates are significantly impacted by the model parameter $c_0$. Subsequently, we investigate two optical characteristics of the black hole, namely the shadow and the emission rate. Our results show that with an increase in the boundary term parameter $c_0$, the shadow's size increases, and the evaporation rate decreases.

We study the tideless traversable wormholes in the $f(R)$ gravity metric formalism. First we consider three shape functions of wormholes and study their viabilities and structures. The connection between the $f(R)$ gravity model and wormhole shape function has been studied and the dependency of the $f(R)$ gravity model with the shape function is shown. We also obtain a wormhole solution in the $f(R)$ gravity Starobinsky model surrounded by a cloud of strings. In this case, the wormhole shape function depends on both the Starobinsky model parameter and the cloud of strings parameter. The structure and height of the wormhole is highly affected by the cloud of strings parameter, while it is less sensitive to the Starobinsky model parameter. The energy conditions have been studied and we found the ranges of the null energy condition violation for all wormhole structures. The quasinormal modes from these wormhole structures for the scalar and Dirac perturbations are studied using higher order WKB approximation methods. The quasinormal modes for the toy shape functions depend highly on the model parameters. In case of the Starobinsky model's wormhole the quasinormal frequencies and the dam** rate increase with an increase in the Starobinsky model parameter in scalar perturbation. Whereas in Dirac perturbation, with an increase in the Starobinsky model parameter the quasinormal frequencies decrease and the dam** rate increases. The cloud of strings parameter also impacts prominently and differently the quasinormal modes from the wormhole in the Starobinsky model.

We study the Quasinormal Modes (QNMs) of the Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a quintessence field after implementing the quantum corrections to its solution as required by the Generalised Uncertainty Principle (GUP). We analyse the dependence of the QNMs on the deformation parameters of GUP as well as on the quintessence parameter. In most cases the QNMs show the appreciable dependency on these parameters. For a better idea of the accuracy of calculations of QNMs, we compare the results of the QNMs obtained via Mashhoon method with the 6th order WKB method. A good agreement between these two methods of QNM calculations is seen depending on the different factors. Further, we study the thermodynamic properties of the GUP-corrected Schwarzschild black hole and check for any dependence with the deformation parameters and the quintessence parameter. In particular, we compute the Hawking temperature, heat capacity and entropy for the black hole and analyse the results graphically to show the dependency of the thermodynamic properties on the said parameters. We have seen that the thermodynamic properties of black holes also depend noticeably on the model parameters in most cases. Black hole remnants have been studied and it is shown that the possible existence of remnant radius as well as remnant temperature depends on the deformations introduced. However, it is observed that the GUP-corrected black hole constructed here can not become a remnant.

The compact stars are promising candidates associated with the generation of gravitational waves (GWs). In this work, we study a special type of compact stars known as strange stars in the $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity Palatini formalism. Here we consider three promising $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity models viz., Starobinsky, Hu-Sawicki and Gogoi-Goswami models in the domain of MIT Bag model and linear equations of state (EoSs). We compute the stellar structures numerically and constrained the $f(\mathcal{R})$ model parameters with a set of probable strange star candidates. The study shows that the consideration of stiffer MIT Bag model and linear EoSs within a favourable set of $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity model parameters may result in strange stars with sufficient compactness to produce echoes of GWs. Thus, we have computed the GWs echo frequencies and characteristic echo times for such stars. It is found that in compliance with the experimentally obtained possible strange star candidates, the obtained GW echo frequencies for all the models are in the range of $65 - 85$ kHz.

We have obtained the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) corrected de Sitter and anti-de Sitter black hole solutions in bumblebee gravity with a topological defect. We have calculated the scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational quasinormal modes for the both vanishing and non-vanishing effective cosmological constant using Padé averaged sixth order WKB approximation method. Apart from this, the time evolutions for all three perturbations are studied, and quasinormal modes are calculated using the time domain profile. We found that the first order and second order GUP parameters $α$ and $β$, respectively have opposite impacts on the quasinormal modes. The study also finds that the presence of a global monopole can decrease the quasinormal frequencies and the decay rate significantly. On the other hand, Lorentz symmetry violation has noticeable impacts on the quasinormal frequencies and the decay rate. We have studied the greybody factors, power spectrum and sparsity of the black hole with the vanishing effective cosmological constant for all the three perturbations. The presence of Lorentz symmetry breaking and the GUP parameter $α$ decrease, while other GUP parameter $β$ and the presence of global monopole increase the probability of Hawking radiation to reach the spatial infinity. The presence of Lorentz violation can make the black holes less sparse, while the presence of a global monopole can increase the sparsity of the black holes. Moreover, we have seen that the black hole area quantization rule is modified by the presence of Lorentz symmetry breaking.

We obtain the black hole solution for the Ayón - Beato - García (ABG) type black hole surrounded by a cloud of strings in Rastall gravity and calculate the scalar quasinormal modes of it for a massless scalar field. To have a better visualization of the results, we also introduce a new non-linear electrodynamic source and obtain a black hole solution surrounded by a cloud of strings in the Rastall gravity. We see that the quasinormal modes are affected by the type of non-linear electrodynamic sources in case of higher magnitudes of charge $q$. With increase in the magnitude of charge $q$, gravitational waves decay rapidly for the new black hole solution, while for the ABG black hole, the decay rate increases initially and finally starts to decrease near to $q=1$. We also study the impact of the cloud of strings and other model parameters, including the Rastall parameter on the quasinormal modes for both of the black holes. The gravitational waves decay slowly with increase in the cloud of strings parameter for both of the black holes. Dependency of quasinormal modes on the Rastall parameter is different from a surrounding dark energy field and the decay of gravitational waves may be slow or rapid depending on the value of this parameter.

One of the most favourable extensions of General Relativity is the $f(R)$ gravity. $f(R)$ gravity in Palatini formalism can be a realistic alternative to the dark energy problem. In this work we study a recently introduced dark energy $f(R)$ gravity model along with two other models in cosmological perspectives under the Palatini formalism. First, we study the cosmic expansion history of these models with the help of the important cosmographic parameters, such as the Hubble parameter, luminosity distance, effective equation of state etc. This study shows that the new model behaves similarly with the other two models as well as with the $Λ$CDM model in some respects in the early or very early phases of the universe. It could predict the present accelerated expansion of the universe somewhat differently from the other models with a peculiar future history of the universe. Within a constrained range of parameters all models show a good agreement with the Union2.1 luminosity distance data. However, the new model shows a quite satisfactory agreement in the whole range of its allowed parameters than that of the other two models. We also obtain cosmological constraints on these models from the Observed Hubble Data. Further, models have been tested by using $Om(z)$ test and statefinder diagnostics. These diagnostics especially, the statefinder diagnostic shows that the evolutionary differences between these models are distinct. The evolutionary trajectories of the new model are completely different from the other two models we have considered.

It is found that at a very far distance away from the source of GWs, Rastall gravity behaves identically to GR. That is, we get only two massless tensor polarization modes of GWs in the theory. Afterwards, we have extended our study to quasinormal modes of black holes in Rastall gravity in presence of non-linear electrodynamic sources. Here the impacts of cosmological field, dust field, phantom field, quintessence field and radiation field on the quasinormal modes in presence of electrodynamic sources have been investigated. Apart from this, we have also checked the dependency of quasinormal modes with the Rastall parameter $λ$, black hole structural constant $N_s$ and charge of the black hole $Q$. The study shows that the quasinormal modes corresponding to the black hole with non-linear electrodynamic sources show significant deviations from a general charged black hole in Rastall gravity under certain conditions. Further, the behaviour of black holes and hence the quasinormal modes depend on the type of surrounding field considered.

In this paper, we have introduced a new $f(R)$ gravity model as an attempt to have a model with more parametric control, so that the model can be used to explain the existing problems as well as to explore new directions in physics of gravity, by properly constraining it with recent observational data. Here basic aim is to study the properties of Gravitational Waves (GWs) in this new model. In $f(R)$ gravity metric formalism, the model shows the existence of scalar degree of freedom as like other $f(R)$ gravity models. Due to this reason, there is a scalar mode of polarization of GWs present in the theory. This polarization mode exists in a mixed state, of which one is transverse massless breathing mode with non-vanishing trace and the other is massive longitudinal mode. The longitudinal mode being massive, travels at speed less than the usual tensor modes found in General Relativity (GR). Moreover, for a better understanding of the model, we have studied the potential and mass of scalar graviton in both Jordan frame and Einstein frame. This model can pass the solar system tests and can explain primordial and present dark energy. Also, we have put constraints on the model. It is found that the correlation function for the third mode of polarization under certain mass scale predicted by the model agrees well with the recent data of Pulsar Timing Arrays. It seems that this new model would be useful in dealing with different existing issues in the areas of astrophysics and cosmology.
