Higgs boson pair production in the D=6 extension of the SM
Abstract: We derive the constraints that can be imposed on the dimension-6 effective theory extension of the Standard Model, using gluon fusion-initiated Higgs boson pair production at the LHC. We use a realistic analysis focussing on the $hh \rightarrow (b\bar{b}) ( τ^+ τ^- )$ final state, including initial-state radiation and non-perturbative effects. We include the statistical uncertainties on the signal… ▽ More

Compressed electroweakino spectra at the LHC
Abstract: In this work, we examine the sensitivity of monojet searches at the LHC to directly produced charginos and neutralinos (electroweakinos) in the limit of small mass splitting, where the traditional multilepton plus missing energy searches loose their sensitivity. We first recast the existing 8 TeV monojet search at CMS in terms of a SUSY simplified model with only light gauginos (winos and binos) o… ▽ More

Measuring the Higgs boson self-coupling at the LHC using ratios of cross sections
Abstract: We consider the ratio between the double and single Higgs production cross sections and examine the prospect of measuring the trilinear Higgs self-coupling using this observable. Such a ratio has a reduced theoretical (scale) uncertainty than the double Higgs cross section. We find that with 600/fb, the 14 TeV LHC can constraint the trilinear Higgs self coupling to be positive, and with 3000/fb on… ▽ More

Generating the Structure of a Fuzzy Rule under Uncertainty
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present a method for identifying the structure of a rule in a fuzzy model. For this purpose, an ATMS shall be used (Zurita 1994). An algorithm obtaining the identification of the structure will be suggested (Castro 1995). The minimal structure of the rule (with respect to the number of variables that must appear in the rule) will be found by this algorithm. Furthermo… ▽ More

Higgs Boson self-coupling measurements using ratios of cross sections
Abstract: We consider the ratio of cross sections of double-to-single Higgs boson production at the Large Hadron Collider at 14 TeV. Since both processes possess similar higher-order corrections, leading to a cancellation of uncertainties in the ratio, this observable is well-suited to constrain the trilinear Higgs boson self-coupling. We consider the scale variation, parton density function uncertainties a… ▽ More

SUSY confronts LHC data
Abstract: The current searches at the LHC have set strong bounds on the masses of gluinos and the squarks of the first and second generation. At the same time, the hints of a Higgs boson at 125 GeV imply some degree of fine-tuning from radiative corrections to the lightest Higgs mass. Moreover, the rate into photons seems to be enhanced with respect to the SM, while the ZZ channel is reduced (albeit the SM… ▽ More

Higgs boson pair production at the LHC in the $b \bar{b} W^+ W^-$ channel
Abstract: We consider Higgs boson pair production at the LHC in the $b \bar{b} W^+ W^-$ channel, with subsequent decay of the $W^+W^-$ pair into $\ell νj j$. Employing jet substructure and event reconstruction techniques, we show that strong evidence for this channel can be found at the 14 TeV LHC with 600 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, thus improving the current reach for the production of Higgs boson… ▽ More

BMSSM Higgs Bosons at the 7 TeV LHC
Abstract: We consider the Higgs sector in extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model by higher-dimension operators in the superpotential and the Kähler potential, in the context of Higgs searches at the LHC 7 TeV run. Such an effective field theory (EFT) approach, also referred to as BMSSM, allows for a model-independent description that may correspond to the combined effects of additional supe… ▽ More

Dark Higgs Models at the 7 TeV LHC
Abstract: We study how collider data and electroweak precision observables affect the parameter space of models including a new dark force mediated by a massive U(1) gauge boson. It acquires mass via a Higgs mechanism in the dark sector which is connected to the Standard Model through kinetic mixing of the two U(1) gauge bosons and the Higgs potential. We assess the impact of the 7 TeV LHC and show that mos… ▽ More

Collider Bounds on Lee-Wick Higgs Bosons
Abstract: We study the constraints on the Lee-Wick Higgs sector arising from direct collider searches. We work in an effective-field theory framework, where all of the Lee-Wick partners are integrated out, with the sole exception of the Lee-Wick Higgs bosons. The resulting theory is a two-Higgs doublet model where the second doublet has wrong-sign kinetic and mass terms. We include the bounds coming from di… ▽ More

SUSY Higgs bosons and beyond
Abstract: We consider extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) where the extra degrees of freedom interact weakly with the Higgs sector. These models allow to relax the tension between the lower bound on the lightest CP even Higgs mass from direct LEP searches and the theoretical upper bound of the MSSM. We study the beyond MSSM (BMSSM) effects via an effective field-theory approach, a… ▽ More

BMSSM Higgs Bosons at the Tevatron and the LHC
Abstract: We study extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with new degrees of freedom that couple sizably to the MSSM Higgs sector and lie in the TeV range. After integrating out the physics at the TeV scale, the resulting Higgs spectrum can significantly differ from typical supersymmetric scenarios, thereby providing a window Beyond the MSSM (BMSSM). Supersymmetric Higgs Bosons and Beyond
Abstract: We consider supersymmetric models that include particles beyond the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with masses in the TeV range, and that couple significantly to the MSSM Higgs sector. We perform a model-independent analysis of the spectrum and couplings of the MSSM Higgs fields, based on an effective theory of the MSSM degrees of freedom. The tree-level mass of the lightest CP-eve… ▽ More

Soft-gluon resummation for pseudoscalar Higgs boson production at hadron colliders
Abstract: We compute the threshold-resummed cross section for pseudo-scalar MSSM Higgs boson production by gluon fusion at hadron colliders. The calculation is performed at next-to-next-to leading logarithmic accuracy. We present results for both the LHC and Tevatron Run II. We analyze the factorization and renormalization scale dependence of the results, finding that after performing the resummation the… ▽ More

The last of the seven-parton tree amplitudes
Abstract: We compute the four-quark plus three-gluon and six-quark plus one-gluon tree level amplitudes using on-shell recursion relations. They are needed for the calculation of the 5-jet cross-section at the Born level, and constitute an essential ingredient for next-to-leading order 4-jet and next-to-next-to-leading order 3-jet production at hadronic colliders.
