Improved measurements of the Dalitz decays $η/η'\rightarrowγe^{+}e^{-}$

Abstract: Based on a data sample of 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, improved measurements of the Dalitz decays $η/η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are performed, where the $η$ and $η'$ are produced through the radiative decays $J/ψ\rightarrowγη/η'$. The branching fractions of $η\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ and $η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are measured to be $(7.07 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.23)\times10^{-3}$ and… ▽ More Based on a data sample of 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, improved measurements of the Dalitz decays $η/η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are performed, where the $η$ and $η'$ are produced through the radiative decays $J/ψ\rightarrowγη/η'$. The branching fractions of $η\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ and $η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are measured to be $(7.07 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.23)\times10^{-3}$ and $(4.83\pm0.07\pm0.14)\times10^{-4}$, respectively. Within the single pole model, the parameter of electromagnetic transition form factor for $η\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ is determined to be $Λ_η=(0.749 \pm 0.027 \pm 0.007)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$. Within the multi-pole model, we extract the electromagnetic transition form factors for $η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ to be $Λ_{η'} = (0.802 \pm 0.007\pm 0.008)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$ and $γ_{η'} = (0.113\pm0.010\pm0.002)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$. The results are consistent with both theoretical predictions and previous measurements. The characteristic sizes of the interaction regions for the $η$ and $η'$ are calculated to be $(0.645 \pm 0.023 \pm 0.007 )~ {\rm fm}$ and $(0.596 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.006)~ {\rm fm}$, respectively. In addition, we search for the dark photon in $η/η^\prime\rightarrowγe^{+}e^{-}$, and the upper limits of the branching fractions as a function of the dark photon are given at 90\% confidence level. △ Less

First study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$ and measurement of $Λp\rightarrowΛp$ cross section

Abstract: Using $(10.087\pm0.044)\times10^{9}$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the processes $Λp\rightarrowΛp$ and $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$ are studied, where the $Λ/\barΛ$ baryons are produced in the process $J/ψ\rightarrowΛ\barΛ$ and the protons are the hydrogen nuclei in the cooling oil of the beam pipe. Clear signals are observed for the two reactions. The cross sections in $-0.9\leq\rm{cos}θ_{Λ/\barΛ}\leq0.9$ are measured to be $σ(Λp\rightarrowΛp)=(12.2\pm1.6_{\rm{stat}}\pm1.1_{\rm{sys}})$ mb and $σ(\barΛ p\rightarrow\barΛ p)=(17.5\pm2.1_{\rm{stat}}\pm1.6_{\rm{sys}})$ mb at the $Λ/\barΛ$ momentum of $1.074$ GeV/$c$ within a range of $\pm0.017$ GeV/$c$, where the $θ_{Λ/\barΛ}$ are the scattering angles of the $Λ/\barΛ$ in the $Λp/\barΛp$ rest frames. Furthermore, the differential cross sections of the two reactions are also measured, where there is a slight tendency of forward scattering for $Λp\rightarrowΛp$, and a strong forward peak for $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$. We present an approach to extract the total elastic cross sections by extrapolation. The study of $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$ represents the first study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering, and these new measurements will serve as important inputs for the theoretical understanding of the (anti)hyperon-nucleon interaction. △ Less

First observation of the decay $Λ^+_c\to nK^{0}_{S}π^+π^0$

Abstract: Based on 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data accumulated at center-of-mass energies between $4599.53$ MeV and $4698.82$ MeV with the BESIII detector, the decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to nK_{S}^{0}π^+π^0$ is observed for the first time with a significance of $9.2σ$. Observation of $\mathcal R(3810)$ in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {\rm hadrons}$ and Improved Measurements of the Resonance Parameters of $\mathcal R(3760)$ and $\mathcal R(3780)$

Abstract: We report the measurement of the cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow {\rm hadrons}$ at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe a new resonance $\mathcal R(3810)$ in the cross sections for the first time, and observe the $\mathcal R(3760)$ resonance with high significance in the cross sections. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ has a mass of $(3804.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.9)$ ~MeV/$c^2$,… ▽ More We report the measurement of the cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow {\rm hadrons}$ at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe a new resonance $\mathcal R(3810)$ in the cross sections for the first time, and observe the $\mathcal R(3760)$ resonance with high significance in the cross sections. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ has a mass of $(3804.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.9)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, a total width of $(5.4 \pm 3.5 \pm 3.2)$~MeV, and an electronic partial width of $(19.4 \pm 7.4 \pm 12.1)$~eV. Its significance is $7.7σ$. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ could be interpreted as a hadro-charmonium resonance predicted by Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). In addition, we measure the mass $(3751.9\pm 3.8\pm 2.8)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, the total width $(32.8 \pm 5.8 \pm 8.7)$~MeV, and the electronic partial width $(184\pm 75\pm 86)$~eV with improved precision for the $\mathcal R(3760)$. Furthermore, for the $\mathcal R(3780)$ we measure the mass $(3778.7\pm 0.5\pm 0.3)$ ~MeV/$c^2$ and total width $(20.3 \pm 0.8 \pm 1.7)$~MeV with improved precision, and the electronic partial width $(265\pm 69\pm 83)$~eV. The $\mathcal R(3780)$ can be interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state of charmonium. Its mass and total width differ significantly from the corresponding fitted values given by the Particle Data Group in 2022 by 7.1 and 3.2 times the uncertainties for $ψ(3770)$, respectively. $ψ(3770)$ has been interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state for 45 years. △ Less

Search for the decay $χ_{c1}(3872)\toπ^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}$

Abstract: Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 10.9 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.16 to 4.34 GeV with the BESIII detector, we search for the decay $χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}$ in the radiative production $e^{+}e^{-} \to γχ_{c1}(3872)$. No significant signal is observed, and the ratio for the branching fraction of $χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}$… ▽ More Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 10.9 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.16 to 4.34 GeV with the BESIII detector, we search for the decay $χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}$ in the radiative production $e^{+}e^{-} \to γχ_{c1}(3872)$. No significant signal is observed, and the ratio for the branching fraction of $χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}$ to $χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$ is measured as $\mathcal{R}\equiv\frac{\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}]}{\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872) \to π^{+}π^{-} J/ψ]}<0.18$ at 90$\%$ confidence level. The upper limit on the product of the cross section $σ[e^{+}e^{-}\toγχ_{c1}(3872)]$ and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872)\toπ^{+}π^{-}χ_{c1}]$ at each center-of-mass energy is also given. The ratio of neutral-to-charged kaon form factors at large momentum transfers ($12~{\rm GeV}^2<Q^2<25~{\rm GeV}^2$) is determined to be $0.21\pm 0.01$, which indicates a small but significant effect of flavor-SU(3) breaking in the kaon wave function, and consequently excludes the possibility that flavor-SU(3) breaking is the primary reason for the strong experimental violation of the pQCD prediction $|F(π^{\pm})|/|F(K^{\pm})|=f^2_π/f^2_{K}$, where $F(π^{\pm})$ and $F(K^{\pm})$ are the form factors, and $f_π$ and $f_{K}$ are the decay constants of charged pions and kaons, respectively. We also observe a significant signal for the charmless decay $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ for the first time. Within a $1σ$ contour of the likelihood value, the the branching fraction for $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ is determined to be ${\cal B}=(2.63_{-1.59}^{+1.40})\times 10^{-5}$, and the relative phase between the continuum and $ψ(3770)$ amplitudes is $φ=(-0.39_{-0.10}^{+0.05})π$. The branching fraction is in good agreement with the $\mathcal{S}$- and $\mathcal{D}$-wave charmonia mixing scheme proposed in the interpretation of the "$ρπ$ puzzle" between $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays. △ Less

The Born cross sections are $15.6\pm3.1\pm0.9$ pb and $29.4\pm3.7\pm2.7$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$, and are $43.4\pm4.0\pm4.1$ pb and $76.8\pm6.5\pm4.2$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- +\rm{c.c.}$ at $\sqrt s=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV, respectively. Based on the polar angle distributions of the $\barΛ_{c}(2625)^-$ and $Λ_{c}(2625)^+$, the form-factor ratios $\sqrt{|G_{E}|^2 + 3|G_{M}|^2}/|G_{C}|$ are determined for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ for the first time, which are $5.95\pm4.07\pm0.15$ and $0.94\pm0.32\pm0.02$ at $\sqrt s=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV, respectively. Abstract: Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 $\rm fb^{-1}$ taken at the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$~GeV with the BESIII detector, a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^+π^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$(non-$η$). With the obtained amplitude model, the $CP$-even fractions of $D^0\to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$(non-$η$) are determined to be $(75.2\pm1.1_{\rm stat.}\pm1.5_{\rm syst.})\%$ and $(68.9\pm1.5_{\rm stat.}\pm 2.4_{\rm syst.})\%$, respectively. The branching fractions of $D^0\to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$(non-$η$) are measured to be $(0.688\pm0.010_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.010_{\rm syst.})\%$ and $(0.951\pm0.025_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.021_{\rm syst.})\%$, respectively. The amplitude analysis provides an important model for binning strategy in the measurements of the strong phase parameters of $D^0 \to 4π$ when used to determine the CKM angle $γ(φ_{3})$ via the $B^{-}\to D K^{-}$ decay. △ Less

Signatures of Majorana Bound States in the Diffraction Patterns of Extended Superconductor-Topological Insulator-Superconductor Josephson Junctions

Abstract: In an extended superconductor-topological insulator-superconductor (S-TI-S) Josephson junction in a magnetic field, localized Majorana bound states (MBS) are predicted to exist at the cores of Josephson vortices where the local phase difference across the junction is an odd-multiple of $π$. These states contribute a supercurrent with a $4π$-periodic current-phase relation (CPR) that adds to the co… ▽ More In an extended superconductor-topological insulator-superconductor (S-TI-S) Josephson junction in a magnetic field, localized Majorana bound states (MBS) are predicted to exist at the cores of Josephson vortices where the local phase difference across the junction is an odd-multiple of $π$. These states contribute a supercurrent with a $4π$-periodic current-phase relation (CPR) that adds to the conventional $2π$-periodic sinusoidal CPR. In this work, we present a comprehensive experimental study of the critical current vs. applied magnetic field diffraction patterns of lateral Nb-Bi$_2$Se$_3$-Nb Josephson junctions. We compare our observations to a model of the Josephson dynamics in the S-TI-S junction system to explore what feature of MBS are, or are not, exhibited in these junctions. Consistent with the model, we find several distinct deviations from a Fraunhofer diffraction pattern that is expected for a uniform sin$(φ)$ CPR. In particular, we observe abrupt changes in the diffraction pattern at applied magnetic fields in which the current-carrying localized MBS are expected to enter the junction, and a lifting of the odd-numbered nodes consistent with a $4π$-periodic sin$(φ/2)$-component in the CPR. We also see that although the even-numbered nodes often remain fully-formed, we sometimes see deviations that are consistent with quasiparticle-induced fluctuations in the parity of the MBS pairs that encodes quantum information. △ Less

We determine the branching fractions of $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^0$ and $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^+π^-$ relative to their Cabibbo-favored counterparts to be $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^0)}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow Λπ^+π^0)} = (2.09\pm0.39_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.07_{\mathrm{syst.}}) \times 10^{-2}$ and $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^+π^-)}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow Λπ^+π^+π^-)} = (1.13\pm0.41_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.06_{\mathrm{syst.}}) \times 10^{-2}$, respectively. Moreover, by combining our measured result with the world average of $\mathcal{B}(Λ^+_c\to Λπ^+π^0)$, we obtain the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to ΛK^+π^0) = (1.49\pm0.27_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.05_{\mathrm{syst.}}\pm0.08_{\mathrm{ref.}}) \times 10^{-3}$. This result significantly departs from theoretical predictions based on quark $SU(3)$ flavor symmetry, which is underpinned by the presumption of meson pair $S$-wave amplitude dominance. △ Less

We observe for the first time two new structures on the $φη$ invariant mass distribution, with statistical significances of $24.0σ$ and $16.9σ$; the first with $J^{\rm PC}$ = $1^{+-}$, mass M = (1911 $\pm$ 6 (stat.) $\pm$ 14 (sys.))~MeV/$c^{2}$, and width $Γ= $ (149 $\pm$ 12 (stat.) $\pm$ 23 (sys.))~MeV, the second with $J^{\rm PC}$ = $1^{--}$, mass M = (1996 $\pm$ 11 (stat.) $\pm$ 30 (sys.))~MeV/$c^{2}$, and width $Γ$ = (148 $\pm$ 16 (stat.) $\pm$ 66 (sys.))~MeV. These measurements provide important input for the strangeonium spectrum. Evidence of the Singly Cabibbo Suppressed decay $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$

Combining with the branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$, $(6.6\pm1.3)\times10^{-4}$, the ratio of the branching fractions of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$ and $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$ is calculated to be $3.2^{+2.2}_{-1.2}$. As an important input for the theoretical models describing the decay mechanisms of charmed baryons, our result indicates that the non-factorizable contributions play an essential role and their interference with the factorizable contributions should not be significant. Towards Anytime Fine-tuning: Continually Pre-trained Language Models with Hypernetwork Prompt

In practice, a continually pre-trained model is expected to demonstrate not only greater capacity when fine-tuned on pre-trained domains but also a non-decreasing performance on unseen ones. In this work, we first investigate such anytime fine-tuning effectiveness… ▽ More Continual pre-training has been urgent for adapting a pre-trained model to a multitude of domains and tasks in the fast-evolving world. In practice, a continually pre-trained model is expected to demonstrate not only greater capacity when fine-tuned on pre-trained domains but also a non-decreasing performance on unseen ones. In this work, we first investigate such anytime fine-tuning effectiveness of existing continual pre-training approaches, concluding with unanimously decreased performance on unseen domains. To this end, we propose a prompt-guided continual pre-training method, where we train a hypernetwork to generate domain-specific prompts by both agreement and disagreement losses. The agreement loss maximally preserves the generalization of a pre-trained model to new domains, and the disagreement one guards the exclusiveness of the generated hidden states for each domain. Remarkably, prompts by the hypernetwork alleviate the domain identity when fine-tuning and promote knowledge transfer across domains. Our method achieved improvements of 3.57% and 3.4% on two real-world datasets (including domain shift and temporal shift), respectively, demonstrating its efficacy. △ Less

Measurement of the cross sections for $e^+e^-\toηπ^+π^-$ at center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV

In addition to the dominant $e^+e^-\toρη$ component, the $e^+e^-\to a_2(1320)π$ process is also sizeable, contributing up to 24% of the total reaction. In real-world applications, event data is typically received in a \emph{streaming} manner, where the distribution of patterns may shift over time. Additionally, \emph{privacy and memory constraints} are commonly observed in p… ▽ More Neural Temporal Point Processes (TPPs) are the prevalent paradigm for modeling continuous-time event sequences, such as user activities on the web and financial transactions. In real-world applications, event data is typically received in a \emph{streaming} manner, where the distribution of patterns may shift over time. Additionally, \emph{privacy and memory constraints} are commonly observed in practical scenarios, further compounding the challenges. Therefore, the continuous monitoring of a TPP to learn the streaming event sequence is an important yet under-explored problem. Our work paper addresses this challenge by adopting Continual Learning (CL), which makes the model capable of continuously learning a sequence of tasks without catastrophic forgetting under realistic constraints. Correspondingly, we propose a simple yet effective framework, PromptTPP\footnote{Our code is available at {\small \url{ https://github.com/yanyanSann/PromptTPP}}}, by integrating the base TPP with a continuous-time retrieval prompt pool. Abstract: Using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 22.42 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\etaJ/ψ$ process at center-of-mass energies from 3.808 to 4.951 GeV. Three structures are observed in the line shape of the measured cross sections. A maximum-likelihood fit with $ψ(4040)$, two additional resonances, and a non-resonant component is performed. The mass and width of the first additional state are $(4219.7\pm2.5\pm4.5) \rm{MeV}/\rm{c}^2$ and $(80.7\pm4.4\pm1.4) \rm{MeV}$, respectively, consistent with the $ψ(4230)$. For the second state, the mass and width are $(4386\pm13\pm17) \rm{MeV}/\rm{c}^2$ and $(177\pm32\pm13) \rm{MeV}$, respectively, consistent with the $ψ(4360)$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The statistical significance of $ψ(4040)$ is $8.0σ$ and those for $ψ(4230)$ and $ψ(4360)$ are more than $10.0σ$. △ Less

Time-LLM: Time Series Forecasting by Reprogramming Large Language Models

Unlike natural language process (NLP) and computer vision (CV), where a single large model can tackle multiple tasks, models for time series forecasting are often specialized, necessitating distinct designs for different tasks and applications. While pre-trained foundation models have made impressive strides in NLP and CV, their development in time series domains has been constrained by data sparsity. Recent studies have revealed that large language models (LLMs) possess robust pattern recognition and reasoning abilities over complex sequences of tokens. However, the challenge remains in effectively aligning the modalities of time series data and natural language to leverage these capabilities. In this work, we present Time-LLM, a reprogramming framework to repurpose LLMs for general time series forecasting with the backbone language models kept intact. We begin by reprogramming the input time series with text prototypes before feeding it into the frozen LLM to align the two modalities. To augment the LLM's ability to reason with time series data, we propose Prompt-as-Prefix (PaP), which enriches the input context and directs the transformation of reprogrammed input patches. The transformed time series patches from the LLM are finally projected to obtain the forecasts. Our comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that Time-LLM is a powerful time series learner that outperforms state-of-the-art, specialized forecasting models. Abstract: We perform for the first time an amplitude analysis of the decay $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}π^+η$ and report the observation of the decay $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+}$ using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. As the only W-annihilation free decay among $D$ to $a_{0}(980)$-pseudoscalar, $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+}$ is… ▽ More We perform for the first time an amplitude analysis of the decay $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}π^+η$ and report the observation of the decay $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+}$ using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. As the only W-annihilation free decay among $D$ to $a_{0}(980)$-pseudoscalar, $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+}$ is the ideal decay to extract the contributions of the external and internal $W$-emission amplitudes involving $a_{0}(980)$ and study the final-state interactions. The absolute branching fraction of $D^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}π^+η$ is measured to be $(1.27\pm0.04_{\rm stat.}\pm0.03_{\rm syst.})\%$. Observation of the Singly Cabibbo-Suppressed Decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$

Abstract: The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.4σ$ by using 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The absolute branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ is measured to be… ▽ More The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.4σ$ by using 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The absolute branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ is measured to be $(3.8\pm1.3_{\rm stat}\pm0.2_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-4}$ in a model-independent approach. This is the first observation of a Cabibbo-suppressed $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decay involving $Σ^-$ in the final state. The ratio of branching fractions between $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ and the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^- π^+π^+$ is calculated to be $(0.4 \pm 0.1)s_{c}^{2}$, where $s_{c} \equiv \sinθ_c = 0.2248$ with $θ_c$ the Cabibbo mixing angle. This ratio significantly deviates from $1.0s_{c}^{2}$ and provides important information for the understanding of nonfactorization contributions in $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decays. △ Less

Novel method to extract the femtometer structure of strange baryons using the vacuum polarization effect

Electromagnetic form factors quantify the structure of hadrons in terms of charge and magnetization distributions. It has recently been demonstrated that electron-positron annihilations into hyperon-antihyperon pairs provide a powerful tools to investigate their inner structure. We present a novel method useful for hyperon-antihyperon pairs of different types which exploits the cross section enhancement due to the vacuum polarization effect at the $J/ψ$ resonance. Using the 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, this allows a thorough determination of the hyperon structure . The result is essentially a precise snapshot of a $\barΛΣ^0$~($Λ\barΣ^0$) pair in the making, encoded in the form factor ratio and the phase. Their values are measured to be $R = 0.860\pm0.029({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.})$, $ΔΦ_1=(1.011\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $\barΛΣ^0$ and $ΔΦ_2=(2.128\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $Λ\barΣ^0$, respectively. Search for the semileptonic decays $D^+_s \to K_1(1270)^0 e^+ν_e$ and $D^+_s \to b_1(1235)^0 e^+ν_e$

Enhancing Asynchronous Time Series Forecasting with Contrastive Relational Inference

Temporal point processes(TPPs) are the standard method for modeling such data. Existing TPP models have focused on parameterizing the conditional distribution of future events instead of explicitly modeling event interactions, imposing challenges for event predictions. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that leverages Neural Relational Inference (NRI) to learn a relation graph that infers interactions while simultaneously learning the dynamics patterns from observational data. Our approach, the Contrastive Relational Inference-based Hawkes Process (CRIHP), reasons about event interactions under a variational inference framework. It utilizes intensity-based learning to search for prototype paths to contrast relationship constraints. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our model in capturing event interactions for event sequence modeling tasks. A coupled-channel analysis of the $X(3872)$ lineshape with BESIII data

Abstract: We perform a study of the $X(3872)$ lineshape using the data samples of $e^+e^-\toγX(3872)$, $X(3872)\to D^0\bar{D}^0 π^0$ and $π^+π^- J/ψ$ collected with the BESIII detector. The effects of the coupled-channels and the off-shell $D^{*0}$ are included in the parameterization of the lineshape. The lineshape mass parameter is obtained to be $M_{X}=(3871.63\pm 0.13^{+0.06}_{-0.05})$ MeV. Abstract: Using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 5.85~fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.61 to 4.95 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the cross section for the process $e^+e^-\to K^+K^-J/ψ$. A new resonance with a mass of $M = 4708_{-15}^{+17}\pm21$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and a width of $Γ= 126_{-23}^{+27}\pm30$ MeV is observed in the energy-d… ▽ More Using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 5.85~fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.61 to 4.95 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the cross section for the process $e^+e^-\to K^+K^-J/ψ$. The $K^{+}J/ψ$ system is also investigated to search for charged charmoniumlike states, but no significant $Z_{cs}^+$ states are observed. Upper limits on the Born cross sections for $e^+e^-\to K^{-} Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}/K^{-} Z_{cs}(4000)^{+} + c.c.$ with $Z_{cs}(3985)^{\pm}/Z_{cs}(4000)^{\pm}\to K^{\pm} J/ψ$ are reported at 90\% confidence levels. The ratio of branching fractions $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}\to K^+ J/ψ)}{\mathcal{B}(Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}\to (\bar{D}^{0}D_s^{*+} + \bar{D}^{*0}D_s^+))}$ is measured to be less than 0.03 at 90\% confidence level. △ Less

By normalizing to the $χ_{c1}(3872)\toπ^+π^- J/ψ$ decay channel, a 90\% confidence level upper limit for the branching fraction ratio $\mathcal{R}=\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872) \rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}η]/\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872) \rightarrow π^{+}π^{-} J/ψ] < 0.12$ is given. Improved measurement of the branching fractions for $J/ψ\toγπ^0$, $γη$ and $γη^\prime$
