On the stability of covariant BSSN formulation
Abstract: In this study, we investigate the numerical stability of the covariant BSSN (cBSSN) formulation proposed by Brown. We calculate the constraint amplification factor (CAF), which is an eigenvalue of the coefficient matrix of the evolution equations of the constraints on the cBSSN formulation and on some adjusted formulations with constraints added to the evolution equations. The adjusted formulation… ▽ More

Stable numerical simulation of Einstein equations in gravitational collapse space--time
Abstract: We perform simulations in a gravitational collapsing model using the Einstein equations. In this paper, we review the equations for constructing the initial values and the evolution form of the Einstein equations called the BSSN formulation. In addition, since we treat a nonvacuum case, we review the evolution equations of the matter fields of a perfect fluid. To make the simulations stable, we pr… ▽ More

Constructing of constraint preserving scheme for Einstein equations
Abstract: We propose a new numerical scheme of evolution for the Einstein equations using the discrete variational derivative method (DVDM). We derive the discrete evolution equation of the constraint using this scheme and show the constraint preserves in the discrete level. In addition, to confirm the numerical stability using this scheme, we perform some numerical simulations by discretized equations with… ▽ More

Constraint-Preserving Scheme for Maxwell's Equations
Abstract: We derive the discretized Maxwell's equations using the discrete variational derivative method (DVDM), calculate the evolution equation of the constraint, and confirm that the equation is satisfied at the discrete level. Numerical simulations showed that the results obtained by the DVDM are superior to those obtained by the Crank-Nicolson scheme. In addition, we study the two types of the discreti… ▽ More

Free path groupoid grading on Leavitt path algebras
Abstract: In this work we realize Leavitt path algebras as partial skew groupoid rings. This yields a free path groupoid grading on Leavitt path algebras. Using this grading we characterize free path groupoid graded isomorphisms of Leavitt path algebras that preserves generators.

Constraint Propagation of $C^2$-adjusted Formulation II --- Another Recipe for Robust Baumgarte-Shapiro-Shibata-Nakamura Evolution System ---
Abstract: In order to obtain an evolution system which is robust against the violation of constraints, we present a new set of evolution systems based on the so-called Baumgarte-Shapiro-Shibata-Nakamura (BSSN) equations. The idea is to add functional derivatives of the norm of constraints, $C^2$, to the evolution equations, which was proposed by Fiske (2004) and was applied to the ADM formulation in our prev… ▽ More

Constraint Propagation of $C^2$-adjusted Formulation - Another Recipe for Robust ADM Evolution System
Abstract: With a purpose of constructing a robust evolution system against numerical instability for integrating the Einstein equations, we propose a new formulation by adjusting the ADM evolution equations with constraints. We apply an adjusting method proposed by Fiske (2004) which uses the norm of the constraints, C2. One of the advantages of this method is that the effective signature of adjusted terms… ▽ More

Constraint propagation in N+1-dimensional space-time
Abstract: Higher dimensional space-time models provide us an alternative interpretation of nature, and give us different dynamical aspects than the traditional four-dimensional space-time models. Motivated by such recent interests, especially for future numerical research of higher-dimensional space-time, we study the dimensional dependence of constraint propagation behavior. Re-formulating the Einstein equations for stable numerical simulations: Formulation Problem in Numerical Relativity
Abstract: We review recent efforts to re-formulate the Einstein equations for fully relativistic numerical simulations. Diagonalizability of Constraint Propagation Matrices
Abstract: In order to obtain stable and accurate general relativistic simulations, re-formulations of the Einstein equations are necessary. Advantages of modified ADM formulation: constraint propagation analysis of Baumgarte-Shapiro-Shibata-Nakamura system
Abstract: Several numerical relativity groups are using a modified ADM formulation for their simulations, which was developed by Nakamura et al (and widely cited as Baumgarte-Shapiro-Shibata-Nakamura system). This so-called BSSN formulation is shown to be more stable than the standard ADM formulation in many cases, and there have been many attempts to explain why this re-formulation has such an advantage.… ▽ More

No-interaction theorem without Hamiltonian and Lagrangian formalism: invariant momentum on null cones
Abstract: In a previous paper (G.Yoneda, Proc.R.Soc.London, A445,(1994),221), we proved the no-interaction theorem for four particles with the assumption that the (linear and angular) momentum on space-like planes is invariant. In this paper, we assume that the momentum on null cones is invariant and prove that there is no interaction for four particles.

Asymptotically constrained and real-valued system based on Ashtekar's variables
