Durable, ultrathin, and antifouling polymer brush coating for efficient condensation heat transfer
Abstract: Heat exchangers are made of metals because of their high heat conductivity and mechanical stability. Metal surfaces are inherently hydrophilic, leading to inefficient filmwise condensation. It is still a challenge to coat these metal surfaces with a durable, robust and thin hydrophobic layer, which is required for efficient dropwise condensation. Here, we report the non-structured and ultrathin (~… ▽ More

Aggregation and Closed-Form Results for Nonhomothetic CES Preferences
Abstract: We provide four novel results for nonhomothetic Constant Elasticity of Substitution preferences (Hanoch, 1975). First, we derive a closed-form representation of the expenditure function of nonhomothetic CES under relatively flexible distributional assumptions of demand and price distribution parameters. Second, we characterize aggregate demand from heterogeneous households in closed-form, assuming… ▽ More

Paired Image-to-Image Translation Quality Assessment Using Multi-Method Fusion
Abstract: How best to evaluate synthesized images has been a longstanding problem in image-to-image translation, and to date remains largely unresolved. This paper proposes a novel approach that combines signals of image quality between paired source and transformation to predict the latter's similarity with a hypothetical ground truth. We trained a Multi-Method Fusion (MMF) model via an ensemble of gradien… ▽ More

On the convergence of sequences in $\mathbb{R}^+$ through weighted geometric means via multiplicative calculus and application to intuitionistic fuzzy numbers
Abstract: We define weighted geometric mean method of convergence for sequences in $\mathbb{R}^+$ by using multiplicative calculus and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which convergence of sequences in $\mathbb{R}^+$ follows from convergence of their weighted geometric means. We also obtain multiplicative analogues of Schmidt type slow oscillation condition and Landau type two-sided conditio… ▽ More

Abstract: We provide an overview of the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) work on evolving the 5G wireless technology to support non-terrestrial satellite networks. Adapting 5G to support non-terrestrial networks entails a holistic design spanning across multiple areas from radio access network to services and system aspects to core and terminals. Basic trigonometric Korovkin approximation for fuzzy valued functions of two variables
Abstract: We prove the basic trigonometric Korovkin approximation theorem for fuzzy valued functions of two variables and verify the approximation by the help of fuzzy modulus of continuity. Also, we introduce double level Fourier series of fuzzy valued functions and investigate corresponding approximation through the use of Cesàro and Abel methods of summation of infinite series.

On the resummation of series of fuzzy numbers via generalized Dirichlet and generalized factorial series
Abstract: We introduce semicontinuous summation methods for series of fuzzy numbers and give Tauberian conditions under which summation of a series of fuzzy numbers via generalized Dirichlet series and via generalized factorial series implies its convergence. Besides, we define the concept of level Fourier series of fuzzy valued functions and obtain results concerning the summation of level Fourier series.

These networks are becoming more and more popular due to the ever-increasing need for ultra durable, in terms of battery lifetime, IoT networks. Abstract: We prove a Korovkin type approximation theorem via power series methods of summability for continuous $2π$-periodic functions of two variables and verify the convergence of approximating double sequences of positive linear operators by using modulus of continuity. An example concerning double Fourier series is also constructed to illustrate the obtained results.

The conservation of information, towards an axiomatized modular modeling approach to congestion control
Abstract: We derive a modular fluid-flow network congestion control model based on a law of fundamental nature in networks: the conservation of information. Network elements such as queues, users, and transmission channels and network performance indicators like sending/acknowledgement rates and delays are mathematically modelled by applying this law locally. Our contributions are twofold. First, we introdu… ▽ More
