We derive the asymptotic expansion formula of its distribution based on the theory of expansion of Skorohod integrals by Nualart and Yoshida. The formula includes the rate of convergence as a corollary. To facilitate the application of the general expansion theory, we employ the theory of exponents from arXiv:2407.02254 to obtain estimates of functionals.

We study the asymptotic properties of an estimator of Hurst parameter of a stochastic differential equation driven by a fractional Brownian motion with $H > 1/2$. Utilizing the theory of asymptotic expansion of Skorohod integrals introduced by Nualart and Yoshida [NY19], we derive an asymptotic expansion formula of the distribution of the estimator. As an corollary, we also obtain a mixed central limit theorem for the statistic, indicating that the rate of convergence is $n^{-\frac12}$, which improves the results in the previous literature. To handle second-order quadratic variations appearing in the estimator, a theory of exponent has been developed based on weighted graphs to estimate asymptotic orders of norms of functionals involved.

We derive an asymptotic expansion for the quadratic variation of a stochastic process satisfying a stochastic differential equation driven by a fractional Brownian motion, based on the theory of asymptotic expansion of Skorohod integrals converging to a mixed normal limit. In order to apply the general theory, it is necessary to estimate functionals that are a randomly weighted sum of products of multiple integrals of the fractional Brownian motion, in expanding the quadratic variation and identifying the limit random symbols. To overcome the difficulty, we introduce two types of exponents by means of the "weighted graphs" capturing the structure of the sum in the functional, and investigate how the exponents change by the action of the Malliavin derivative and its projection.

In recent years, several studies on neural machine translation (NMT) have attempted to use document-level context by using a multi-encoder and two attention mechanisms to read the current and previous sentences to incorporate the context of the previous sentences. These studies concluded that the target-side context is less useful than the source-side context. However, we considered that the reason why the target-side context is less useful lies in the architecture used to model these contexts.
Therefore, in this study, we investigate how the target-side context can improve context-aware neural machine translation. We propose a weight sharing method wherein NMT saves decoder states and calculates an attention vector using the saved states when translating a current sentence. Our experiments show that the target-side context is also useful if we plug it into NMT as the decoder state when translating a previous sentence.

Multimodal machine translation is an attractive application of neural machine translation (NMT). It helps computers to deeply understand visual objects and their relations with natural languages. However, multimodal NMT systems suffer from a shortage of available training data, resulting in poor performance for translating rare words. In NMT, pretrained word embeddings have been shown to improve NMT of low-resource domains, and a search-based approach is proposed to address the rare word problem. In this study, we effectively combine these two approaches in the context of multimodal NMT and explore how we can take full advantage of pretrained word embeddings to better translate rare words. We report overall performance improvements of 1.24 METEOR and 2.49 BLEU and achieve an improvement of 7.67 F-score for rare word translation.

However, this vocabulary set may still include words that interfere with learning in encoder-decoder models. This paper proposes a method for selecting more suitable words for learning encoders by utilizing not only frequency, but also co-occurrence information, which we capture using the HITS algorithm. We apply our proposed method to two tasks: machine translation and grammatical error correction. For Japanese-to-English translation, this method achieves a BLEU score that is 0.56 points more than that of a baseline. It also outperforms the baseline method for English grammatical error correction, with an F0.5-measure that is 1.48 points higher.

Neural machine translation (NMT) has a drawback in that can generate only high-frequency words owing to the computational costs of the softmax function in the output layer.
In Japanese-English NMT, Japanese predicate conjugation causes an increase in vocabulary size. For example, one verb can have as many as 19 surface varieties. In this research, we focus on predicate conjugation for compressing the vocabulary size in Japanese. The vocabulary list is filled with the various forms of verbs. We propose methods using predicate conjugation information without discarding linguistic information. The proposed methods can generate low-frequency words and deal with unknown words. Two methods were considered to introduce conjugation information: the first considers it as a token (conjugation token) and the second considers it as an embedded vector (conjugation feature).
The results using these methods demonstrate that the vocabulary size can be compressed by approximately 86.1% (Tanaka corpus) and the NMT models can output the words not in the training data set. Furthermore, BLEU scores improved by 0.91 points in Japanese-to-English translation, and 0.32 points in English-to-Japanese translation with ASPEC.

The observation was carried out for 13 days at an average altitude of 35 km in January 2004. The detector is an imaging calorimeter composed of scintillating-fiber belts and plastic scintillators inserted between lead plates with 9 radiation lengths. The performance of the detector has been confirmed by the CERN-SPS beam test and also investigated by Monte-Carlo simulations. New telemetry system using a commercial satellite of Iridium, power supply by solar batteries, and automatic level control using CPU have successfully been developed and operated during the flight. From the long duration balloon observations, we derived the energy spectrum of cosmic-ray electrons in the energy range from 100 GeV to 800 GeV. In addition, for the first time we derived the electron arrival directions above 100 GeV, which is consistent with the isotropic distribution.

Aims. Understand the shape and implications of the multiband light curve of GRB 050408, an X-ray rich (XRR) burst. Methods. We present a multiband optical light curve, covering the time from the onset of the gamma-ray event to several months after, when we only detect the host galaxy. Together with X-ray, millimetre and radio observations we compile what, to our knowledge, is the most complete multiband coverage of an XRR burst afterglow to date. Results. The optical and X-ray light curve is characterised by an early flattening and an intense bump peaking around 6 days after the burst onset. We explain the former by an off-axis viewed jet, in agreement with the predictions made for XRR by some models, and the latter with an energy injection equivalent in intensity to the initial shock. The analysis of the spectral flux distribution reveals an extinction compatible with a low chemical enrichment surrounding the burst. Together with the detection of an underlying starburst host galaxy we can strengthen the link between XRR and classical long-duration bursts.

Using a fire-ball, we compare our results to the low and intermediate mass dilepton data available from CERN. Our results suggest that a baryon free hadronic gas does not account for the excess of low mass dielectrons observed at CERES but do well in accounting for the intermediate dimuons at HELIOS. A general formula for $ππ$ scattering and a new one loop effective action are obtained. The new effective action reproduces the KSFR relation, and yields specific estimates for the pion polarisabilities. Abstract:
We argue that the description of meson-nucleon dynamics based on the boson-exchange approach, is compatible with the description of the nucleon as a soliton in the nonrelativistic limit. Our arguments are based on an analysis of the meson-soliton form factor and the exact meson-soliton and soliton-soliton scattering amplitudes in the Sine-Gordon model.
