We study multifractal properties in time evolution of a single particle subject to repeated measurements. For quantum systems, we consider circuit models consisting of local unitary gates and local projective measurements. For classical systems, we consider models for estimating the trajectory of a particle evolved under local transition processes by partially measuring particle occupations. In both cases, multifractal behaviors appear in the ensemble of wave functions or probability distributions conditioned on measurement outcomes after a sufficiently long time. While the nature of particle transport (diffusive or ballistic) qualitatively affects the multifractal properties, they are even quantitatively robust to the measurement rate or specific protocols. On the other hand, multifractality is generically lost by generalized measurements allowing erroneous outcomes or by postselection of the outcomes with no particle detection. We demonstrate these properties by numerical simulations and also propose several simplified models, which allow us to analytically obtain multifractal properties in the monitored single-particle systems.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are increasingly being combined with machine learning (ML) to predict material properties. The molecular configurations obtained from MD are represented by multiple features, such as thermodynamic properties, and are used as the ML input. However, to accurately find the input--output patterns, ML requires a sufficiently sized dataset that depends on the complexity of the ML model. Generating such a large dataset from MD simulations is not ideal because of their high computation cost. In this study, we present a simple supervised ML method to predict the transport properties of materials. To simplify the model, an unsupervised ML method obtains an efficient representation of molecular movements. This method was applied to predict the viscosity of lubricant molecules in confinement with shear flow. Furthermore, simplicity facilitates the interpretation of the model to understand the molecular mechanics of viscosity. We revealed two types of molecular mechanisms that contribute to low viscosity.

We prove in this case that they are unbounded in $L^p(\R^4)$ for $4<p<\infty$ unless the latter condition is satisfied. It is long known that the high energy parts are bounded in $L^p(\R^4)$ for all $1\leq p\leq \infty$ and that the same holds for $W_\pm$ if $H$ has no eigenfunctions nor resonances at the threshold.

The initial value problem is explicitly solvable in terms of Bessel functions. Using the explicit solutions we show that the adiabatic theorem breaks down as $\varepsilon\to 0$.
For the case $L=0$ complete results are obtained. The survival probability of the ground state $π^{-1/4}\exp(-x^2/2)$ at microscopic time $t=1/\varepsilon$ is $1/\sqrt{2}+O(\varepsilon)$. For $L>0$ the framework for further computations and preliminary results are given.

The vertex coloring problem is a well-known NP-hard problem and has many applications in operations research and in scheduling. A conventional approach to the problem solves the k-colorability problem iteratively, decreasing k one by one. Whether a heuristic algorithm finds a legal k-coloring quickly or not is largely affected by an initial solution. We highlight a simple initial solution generator, which we call the recycle method, which makes use of the legal (k+1)-coloring that has been found. An initial solution generated by the method is expected to guide a heuristic algorithm to find a legal k-coloring more quickly than conventional methods, as demonstrated by experimental studies. The results suggest that the recycle method should be used as the standard initial solution generator for both local search algorithms and modern hybrid methods.

We study the threshold behaviour of two dimensional Schr{\" o}dinger operators with finitely many local point interactions. We show that the resolvent can either be continuously extended up to the threshold, in which case we say that the operator is of regular type, or it has singularities associated with $s$ or p-wave resonances or even with an embedded eigenvalue at zero, for whose existence we give necessary and sufficient conditions. An embedded eigenvalue at zero may appear only if we have at least three centres.
When the operator is of regular type we prove that the wave operators are bounded in $L^p(\R^2)$ for all $1<p<\infty$. With a single center we always are in the regular type case.

We address the question of how one can modify the inflationary tensor spectrum without changing at all the successful predictions on the curvature perturbation. We show that this is indeed possible, and determine the two quadratic curvature corrections that are free from instabilities and affect only the tensor sector at the level of linear cosmological perturbations. Both of the two corrections can reduce the tensor amplitude, though one of them generates large non-Gaussianity of the curvature perturbation. It turns out that the other one corresponds to so-called Lorentz-violating Weyl gravity. In this latter case one can obtain as small as 65% of the standard tensor amplitude. Utilizing this effect we demonstrate that even power-law inflation can be within the 2$σ$ contour of the Planck results.

It is shown that they are continuous in $W^{k,p}({\bf R}^m)$, $0\leq k \leq 2$, for $1<p<3$ but not for $p>3$ if $m=3$ and, for $1<p<m/2$ but not for $p>m/2$ if $m\geq 5$. This extends the previously known interval of $p$ for the continuity, $3/2<p<3$ for $m=3$ and $m/(m-2)<p<m/2$ for $m\geq 5$. The formula which represents the integral kernel of the resolvent of the even dimensional free Schödinger operator as the superposition of exponential-polynomial like functions substantially simplifies the proof of the previous paper when $m \geq 6$ is even.

We prove that the Schrödinger equation for N number of particles in the time dependent electro-magnetic field generates a unique unitary propagator on the state space under the condition that the field is smooth and moderately but almost critically increases at the spatial infinity such that propagator for every single particle in the field enjoys the time local Strichartz estimates and that the time dependent inter-particle potentials are almost critically singular for Hamiltonians to have a unique selfadjoint realization at every fixed time. We also show that the domain of definition of the quantum harmonic oscillator is invariant under the propagator and, for initial states in that space, solutions are continuously differentiable function of time variable with values in the state space under the additional assumption that the time derivative of inter-particle potentials exists almost everywhere and it increases the spatial singularities by at most the inverse power of the inter-particle distances. New estimates of Strichartz type for the propagator for N independent particles in the field are proved and used for the proof.

We consider d-dimensional time dependent Schrödinger equations on the Hilbert space of square integrable functions. We assume magnetic and scalar potentials are almost critically singular with respect to spatial variables both locally and at infinity for the fixed time Schrödinger operator H(t) to be essentially self-adjoint on the compactly supported smooth functions. In particular, if magnetic field B(t,x) is very strong at infinity, the scalar potential can explode to negative infinity faster than quadratic functions. We show that equations uniquely generate unitary propagators under suitable conditions on the size and singularities of time derivatives of potentials. Basic tools are Kato's abstract theory for evolution equations, Iwatsuka's identity which rewrites H(t) to an elliptic differential operator in which B(t,x) appears explicitly, and a new diamagnetic like inequality.

For the last decade, the gravitational lensing in the strong gravitational field has been studied eagerly. It is well known that, for the lensing by a black hole, infinite number of Einstein rings are formed by the light rays which wind around the black hole nearly on the photon sphere, which are called relativistic Einstein rings. This is also the case for the lensing by a wormhole. In this paper, we study the Einstein ring and relativistic Einstein rings for the Schwarzschild black hole and the Ellis wormhole, the latter of which is an example of traversable wormholes of the Morris-Thorne class. Given the configuration of the gravitational lensing and the radii of the Einstein ring and relativistic Einstein rings, we can distinguish between a black hole and a wormhole in principle. We conclude that we can detect the relativistic Einstein rings by wormholes which have the radii of the throat $a\simeq 0.5$pc at a galactic center with the distance 10Mpc and which have $a\simeq 10$AU in our galaxy using by the most powerful modern instruments which have the resolution of $10^{-2}$arcsecond such as a 10-meter optical-infrared telescope. The black holes which make the Einstein rings of the same size as the ones by the wormholes are galactic supermassive black holes and the relativistic Einstein rings by the black holes are too small to measure at this moment. We may test some hypotheses of astrophysical wormholes by using the Einstein ring and relativistic Einstein rings in the future.

The primary advantage of the diamond detector can reduce the photoelectric effect in the low energy range, which is background noise for tracking of the Compton recoil electron. A concept of the Diamond Compton Telescope (DCT) consists of position sensitive layers of diamond-striped detector and calorimeter layer of CdTe detector. The key part of the DCT is diamond-striped detectors with a higher positional resolution and a wider energy range from 10 keV to 10 MeV. However, the diamond-striped detector is under development.
