Measurement of $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c0,c1,c2}$ cross sections at center-of-mass energies between 3.77 and 4.60 GeV

Abstract: The $e^+e^-\toγχ_{cJ}$ ($J=0,1,2$) processes are studied at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.773 to 4.600 GeV, using a total integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb$^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ annihilation data accumulated with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. We observe for the first time $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1,c2}$ signals at $\sqrt{s}=$ 4.180 GeV with statistical significances of 7.6$σ$ and 6.0$σ$, respectively. Th… ▽ More The $e^+e^-\toγχ_{cJ}$ ($J=0,1,2$) processes are studied at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.773 to 4.600 GeV, using a total integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb$^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ annihilation data accumulated with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. We observe for the first time $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1,c2}$ signals at $\sqrt{s}=$ 4.180 GeV with statistical significances of 7.6$σ$ and 6.0$σ$, respectively. The production cross section of $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1,c2}$ at each center-of-mass energy is also measured. We find that the line shape of the $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1}$ cross section can be described with conventional charmonium states $ψ(3686)$, $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$. Compared with this, for the $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c2}$ channel, one more additional resonance is added to describe the cross section line shape. Its mass and width are measured to be $M=4371.7\pm7.5\pm1.8$ MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ^{tot}=51.1\pm17.6\pm1.9$ MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The significance of this resonance is estimated to be 5.8$σ$, and its parameters agree with the $Y(4360)$ resonance previously reported in $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-ψ(3686)$, and the $Y(4390)$ in $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-h_c$ within uncertainties. No significant signal for the $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c0}$ process is observed, and the upper limits of Born cross sections $σ_{B}(e^+e^-\toγχ_{c0})$ at 90\% confidence level are reported. △ Less

Measurement of Branching Fractions of $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays to $Σ^{+}$ and $\overlineΣ^-$

Abstract: Using $1310.6\times10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ and $448.1\times10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the branching fractions of $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays to $Σ^{+}\overlineΣ^{-}$ are measured to be $(10.61 \pm 0.04 \pm 0.36) \times 10^{-4}$ and $(2.52 \pm 0.04 \pm 0.09) \times 10^{-4}$, respectively. Abstract: The decay $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}η$ is observed for the first time, using $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The absolute branching fraction for this decay is measured to be… ▽ More The decay $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}η$ is observed for the first time, using $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The absolute branching fraction for this decay is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(D^+_s \to π^+ π^+ π^- η) = (3.12\pm0.13_{\rm stat.}\pm0.09_{\rm syst.})$%. The first amplitude analysis of this decay reveals the sub-structures in $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}η$ and determines the relative fractions and the phases among these sub-structures. The dominant intermediate process is $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow a_1(1260)^+ η, a_1(1260)^+ \rightarrow ρ(770)^0π^+$ with a branching fraction of $(1.73 \pm 0.14_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.08_{\rm syst.})$%. We also observe the W-annihilation process $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow a_0(980)^+ρ(770)^0$, $a_0(980)^+ \to π^+ η$ with a branching fraction of $(0.21\pm0.08_{\rm stat.}\pm0.05_{\rm syst.})$%, which is larger than the branching fractions of other measured pure W-annihilation decays by one order of magnitude. △ Less

Abstract: Using 5.9~pb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies from 3.640 to 3.701 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII Collider, we measure the observed cross sections of $e^+e^-\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} X$ (where $X= \text{anything}$). We obtain ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}=(1.35\pm0.09_{\rm stat}\pm0.09_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-3}$. Using the world… ▽ More By analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the $D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ$ decay for the first time. We obtain ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}=(1.35\pm0.09_{\rm stat}\pm0.09_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-3}$. Using the world average of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}$, we find a branching fraction ratio of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}=0.90\pm0.11$, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within the uncertainty. Combining the world average of ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}$ and the lifetimes of $D^{0(+)}$, we obtain a partial decay width ratio of $Γ_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ ν_μ}/(2Γ_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}) = 0.71\pm0.14$, which is consistent with the isospin symmetry expectation of one within $2.1σ$. For the reported values of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}$ and $Γ_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ ν_μ}/2Γ_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}$, the uncertainty is the quadratic sum of the statistical and systematic uncertainties. △ Less

Measurement of the Absolute Branching Fraction of $D_s^+ \to τ^+ ν_τ$ via $τ^+ \to e^+ ν_e \barν_τ$

The precision is improved by a factor of 2 compared to the previous best measurement. Combining with $f_{D_s^+}$ from Lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations or the $|V_{cs}|$ from the CKMfitter group, we extract $|V_{cs}|=0.978\pm0.009\pm0.012$ and $f_{D_s^+}= (251.1\pm2.4\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. Combining our result with the world averages of $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to τ^+ ν_τ}$ and $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to μ^+ ν_μ}$, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to τ^+ ν_τ} / \mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to μ^+ ν_μ} = 9.72\pm0.37$, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality. △ Less

Cross section measurement of $e^{+}e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0}K_{L}^{0}$ at $\sqrt{s}=2.00-3.08~{\rm GeV}$

Abstract: The cross sections of the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0}K_{L}^{0}$ are measured at fifteen center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ from $2.00$ to $3.08~{\rm GeV}$ with the BESIII detector at the Bei**g Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII). The results are found to be consistent with those obtained by BaBar. A new method, exploiting the fact that the $Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+$ pair is entangled and sequentially decaying, and where the complete decay chains are reconstructed, is applied for the first time. This enables precision measurements of the decay parameters for the $Ξ^-\toΛπ^-$ decay ($α_Ξ$, $φ_Ξ$) as well as the $\overlineΞ^+\to\overlineΛπ^+$ decay ($\overlineα_Ξ$, $\overlineφ_Ξ$). From the decay parameters, two independent CP tests were performed, quantified by the observables $A_{\rm CP}^Ξ$ and $Δφ_Ξ$. Our results, $A_{\rm CP}^Ξ$ = $(6.0\pm13.4\pm5.6)\times10^{-3}$ and $Δφ_Ξ= (-4.8\pm13.7\pm2.9)\times10^{-3}~{\rm rad}$, are consistent with CP symmetry. Furthermore, our method enables a separation of strong and weak $Ξ\toΛπ$ decay amplitudes. This results in the first direct measurement of the weak phase difference for any baryon decay. The result is found to be $(ξ_{P} - ξ_{S}) = (1.2\pm3.4\pm0.8)\times10^{-2}$ rad and is one of the most precise tests of CP symmetry for strange baryons. The strong phase difference is measured to be $(δ_P - δ_S) = (-4.0\pm3.3\pm1.7)\times10^{-2}$ rad. In addition, we provide an independent measurement of the recently debated $Λ$ decay parameter, $α_Λ = 0.757 \pm 0.011 \pm 0.008 $. The $Λ\overlineΛ$ asymmetry is measured to be $A_{\rm CP}^Λ = (-3.7\pm11.7\pm9.0)\times10^{-3}$. △ Less

Abstract: Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we measure the absolute branching fractions of the decays $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ to be $(3.567\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm 0.025_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(8.68\pm0.14_{\rm stat}\pm 0.16_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. Starting with the process… ▽ More Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we measure the absolute branching fractions of the decays $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ to be $(3.567\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm 0.025_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(8.68\pm0.14_{\rm stat}\pm 0.16_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. Starting with the process $e^+e^-\to D\bar{D}$, a new reconstruction method is employed to select events that contain candidates for both $D\to \bar Ke^+ν_e$ and $\bar D\to Ke^-\bar ν_e$ decays. The branching fractions reported in this work are consistent within uncertainties with previous BESIII measurements that selected events containing $D\to \bar Ke^+ν_e$ and hadronic $\bar D$ decays. Combining our results with the lifetimes of the $D^0$ and $D^+$ mesons and the previous BESIII measurements leads to a ratio of the two decay partial widths of $\frac{\bar Γ_{D^0\to K^{-}e^+ν_{e}}}{\bar Γ_{D^{+}\to \bar K^{0}e^+ν_{e}}}=1.039\pm0.021$. This ratio supports isospin symmetry in the $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ decays within $1.9σ$. △ Less

A double-tag technique is applied to $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected by the BESIII experiment at the BEPCII collider, operating in the center-of-mass energy range $4.178 - 4.230$ GeV. We select positrons from $D_s^+\rightarrow Xe^{+}ν_e$ with momenta greater than 200 MeV/$c$, and determine the laboratory momentum spectrum, accounting for the effects of detector efficiency and resolution. The total positron yield and semielectronic branching fraction are determined by extrapolating this spectrum below the momentum cutoff. We measure the $D_s^+$ semielectronic branching fraction to be $\mathcal{B}\left(D_s^+\rightarrow Xe^{+}ν_e\right)=\left(6.30\pm0.13\;(\text{stat.})\pm 0.10\;(\text{syst.})\right)\%$, showing no evidence for unobserved exclusive semielectronic modes. We combine this result with external data taken from literature to determine the ratio of the $D_s^+$ and $D^0$ semielectronic widths, $\frac{Γ(D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow Xe^+ν_e)}{Γ(D^0\rightarrow Xe^+ν_e)}=0.790\pm 0.016\;(\text{stat.})\pm0.020\;(\text{syst.})$. Abstract: Utilizing a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32~$\rm fb^{-1}$, recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226~GeV, we perform an amplitude analysis of the decay $D_{s}^{+} \to K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{0}$ and determine the relative fractions and phase differences of different intermediate processes, which include $K_{S}^{0}ρ(770)^{+}$,… ▽ More Utilizing a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32~$\rm fb^{-1}$, recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226~GeV, we perform an amplitude analysis of the decay $D_{s}^{+} \to K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{0}$ and determine the relative fractions and phase differences of different intermediate processes, which include $K_{S}^{0}ρ(770)^{+}$, $K_{S}^{0}ρ(1450)^{+}$, $K^{*}(892)^{0}π^{+}$, $K^{*}(892)^{+}π^{0}$, and $K^{*}(1410)^{0}π^{+}$. New Features in the Electromagnetic Structure of the Neutron

Abstract: Here we present new results for the Born cross section and the effective form factor of the neutron at the center-of-mass energies ${\bf \sqrt{s}}$ between 2.0 and 3.08 GeV, using 18 data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 647.9 pb${\bf ^{-1}}$ from e${\bf ^+}$e${\bf ^-}$ annihilation reactions collected at the BESIII experiment. The process $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is analyzed with… ▽ More Here we present new results for the Born cross section and the effective form factor of the neutron at the center-of-mass energies ${\bf \sqrt{s}}$ between 2.0 and 3.08 GeV, using 18 data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 647.9 pb${\bf ^{-1}}$ from e${\bf ^+}$e${\bf ^-}$ annihilation reactions collected at the BESIII experiment. The process $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is analyzed with three individual categories to improve the efficiency of $n\bar{n}$ reconstruction. The cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is measured at 18 c.m. energies where the best precision is 8.1\% at $\sqrt{s}=2.396$ GeV. The corresponding effective form factors are extracted under the assumption $|G_{E}|=|G_{M}|$. Our results improve the statistical precision on the neutron form factor by more than a factor of 60 over previous measurements from the FENICE and DM2 experiments and usher in a new era where neutron form factor data from annihilation in the time-like regime is on par with that from electron scattering experiments. In addition, an oscillatory behavior of the effective form factor observed for the proton is discussed for the neutron. △ Less

Abstract: The decays $D\to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ and $D \to K^-π^+π^0$ are studied in a sample of quantum-correlated $D\bar{D}$ pairs produced through the process $e^+e^- \to ψ(3770) \to D\bar{D}$, exploiting a data set collected by the BESIII experiment that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb$^{-1}$. Here $D$ indicates a quantum superposition of a $D^0$ and a $\bar{D}^0$ meson. By reconstructing one neutral charm meson in a signal decay, and the other in the same or a different final state, observables are measured that contain information on the coherence factors and average strong-phase differences of each of the signal modes. These parameters are critical inputs in the measurement of the angle $γ$ of the Unitarity Triangle in $B^- \to DK^-$ decays at the LHCb and Belle II experiments. The coherence factors are determined to be $R_{K3π}=0.52^{+0.12}_{-0.10}$ and $R_{Kππ^0}=0.78 \pm 0.04$, with values for the average strong-phase differences that are $δ_D^{K3π}=\left(167^{+31}_{-19}\right)^\circ$ and $δ_D^{Kππ^0}=\left(196^{+14}_{-15}\right)^\circ$, where the uncertainties include both statistical and systematic contributions. The analysis is re-performed in four bins of the phase-space of the $D \to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ to yield results that will allow for a more sensitive measurement of $γ$ with this mode, to which the BESIII inputs will contribute an uncertainty of around 6$^\circ$. △ Less

Simultaneously floating the $D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ$ and $D_s^+\toτ^+ν_τ$ components yields $\cal B(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ) = (5.21\pm0.25\pm0.17)\times10^{-2}$, $\cal B(D_s^+\to μ^+ν_μ) = (5.35\pm0.13\pm0.16)\times10^{-3}$, and the ratio of decay widths $R=\frac{Γ(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ)}{Γ(D_s^+\to μ^+ν_μ)} = 9.73^{+0.61}_{-0.58}\pm 0.36$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. No evidence of ${\it CP}$ asymmetry is observed in the decay rates $D_s^\pm\toμ^\pmν_μ$ and $D_s^\pm\toτ^\pmν_τ$: $A_{\it CP}(μ^\pmν) = (-1.2\pm2.5\pm1.0)\%$ and $A_{\it CP}(τ^\pmν) = (+2.9\pm4.8\pm1.0)\%$. Constraining our measurement to the Standard Model expectation of lepton universality ($R=9.75$), we find the more precise results $\cal B(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ) = (5.22\pm0.10\pm 0.14)\times10^{-2}$ and $A_{\it CP}(τ^\pmν_τ) = (-0.1\pm1.9\pm1.0)\%$. Combining our results with inputs external to our analysis, we determine the $c\to \bar{s}$ quark mixing matrix element, $D_s^+$ decay constant, and ratio of the decay constants to be $|V_{cs}| = 0.973\pm0.009\pm0.014$, $f_{D^+_s} = 249.9\pm2.4\pm3.5~\text{MeV}$, and $f_{D^+_s}/f_{D^+} = 1.232\pm0.035$, respectively. △ Less

The process $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1}$ is observed in a 9 fb$^{-1}$ data sample in the center-of-mass energy range 4.3 to 4.7 GeV, which confirms a previous observation but with a higher significance of $11.8σ$, and evidence for $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c2}$ is found with a significance of $3.2σ$ for the first time. The branching-fraction ratio $\frac{\mathcal{B}(ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c2})}{\mathcal{B}(ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1})}$ is determined. No significant $ψ_2(3823)$ signals are observed for any of the other decay channels. Upper limits of branching-fraction ratios for $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowπ^+π^-J/ψ, π^0π^0J/ψ, ηJ/ψ, π^0J/ψ, γχ_{c0}$ relative to $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1}$ are reported. The process $e^+e^-\rightarrowπ^0π^0ψ_2(3823)$ is also searched for, and we find evidence for the process with a significance of $4.3σ$. Abstract: During the 2016-17 and 2018-19 running periods, the BESIII experiment collected 7.5~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.13 to 4.44 GeV. These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states. Abstract: We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψ$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of… ▽ More We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψ$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of the expected decays $ψ(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ and $ψ(3770)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$. Instead it can be better described with three BW amplitudes of the decays $ψ(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$, $R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ and $R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ with two distinct structures referred to as $R(3760)$ and $R(3790)$. Under this assumption, we extracted their masses, total widths, and the product of the leptonic width and decay branching fractions to be $M_{R(3760)}= {3761.7\pm 2.2 \pm 1.2}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ^{\rm tot}_{R(3760)}= {6.7\pm 11.1 \pm 1.1}$ MeV, $Γ^{ee}_{R(3760)}\mathcal B[R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}]=(4.0\pm 4.3\pm 1.2)$ eV, $M_{R(3790)} = {3784.7\pm 5.7 \pm 1.6}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ^{\rm tot}_{R(3790)} = {31.6 \pm 11.9 \pm 3.2}$ MeV, $Γ^{ee}_{R(3790)}\mathcal B[R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}]=(18.1\pm 10.3\pm 4.7)$ eV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and second systematic. △ Less

Due to the inclusion of new data, this result supersedes the last BESIII result on this branching fracti… ▽ More The rare decay $η' \to π^+ π^- e^+ e^-$ is studied using a sample of $1.3 \times 10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII in 2009 and 2012. The branching fraction is measured with improved precision to be $\left( 2.42\pm0.05_{stat.}\pm0.08_{syst.} \right) \times 10^{-3}$. Due to the inclusion of new data, this result supersedes the last BESIII result on this branching fraction. In addition, the CP-violating asymmetry in the angle between the decay planes of the $π^+π^-$-pair and the $e^+e^-$-pair is investigated. A measurable value would indicate physics beyond the standard model; the result is $\mathcal{A}_{CP} = \left(2.9\pm3.7_{stat.}\pm1.1_{syst.} \right)\%$, which is consistent with the standard model expectation of no CP-violation. The precision is comparable to the asymmetry measurement in the $K^0_L\toπ^+π^-e^+e^-$ decay where the observed $(14\pm2)\%$ effect is driven by a standard model mechanism. △ Less

An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σ$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. We find significant $η_{\rm c}$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow η_{\rm c}π^+ π^-π^0$ at $\sqrt{s}$ of 4.23 GeV and 4.26 GeV and observe a significant energy-dependent Born cross section that we measure to be consistent with the production via the intermediate $Y(4260)$ resonance. In addition, we perform a search for a charmonium-like $Z_{\rm c}$ state close to the $D\bar{D}$ threshold that decays to $η_{\rm c}π$, involving ground state charmonium, and observe no signal. Corresponding upper limits on the cross section of $η_{\rm c}$ and $Z_{\rm c}$ production are provided, where the yields are not found to be significant. △ Less

The decay channel $h_c\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ is observed for the first time with a significance of $6.0 σ$. The corresponding branching fractions (and upper limits) are obtained to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow π^{+} π^{-} π^{0} η) =(7.2 \pm 1.8 \pm 1.3)\times 10^{-3}$ $(< 1.8 \times 10^{-2})$ and $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}π^{\mp}π^{+}π^{-}) =(2.8 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.5)\times 10^{-3}$ $(<4.7\times 10^{-3})$. Upper limits on the branching fractions for the final states $h_c \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}η$, $K^{+}K^{-}π^{+}π^{-}η$, $2(K^{+}K^{-})π^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}η$, $K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}π^{\mp}$, and $p\bar{p}π^{0}π^{0}$ are determined at a confidence level of 90\%. △ Less

Study of BESIII Trigger Efficiencies with the 2018 $J/ψ$ Data

Abstract: Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the $J/ψ$ peak, we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes, namely Bhabha-scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles.
