Velocity Statistics in Holographic Fluids: Magnetized Quark-Gluon Plasma and Superfluid Flow
Abstract: We study the velocity statistics distribution of an external heavy particle in holographic fluids. We argue that when the dual supergravity background has a finite temperature horizon the velocity statistics goes generically as $1/v$, compatible with the jet-quenching intuition from the quark-gluon plasma. A careful analysis of the behavior of the classical string whose apparent worldsheet horizon… ▽ More

Structure of the Chiral Scalar Superfield in Ten Dimensions
Abstract: We describe the tensors and spinor-tensors included in the $θ$-expansion of the ten-dimensional chiral scalar superfield. The product decompositions of all the irreducible structures with $θ$ and the $θ^2$ tensor are provided as a first step towards the obtention of a full tensor calculus for the superfield.

Five-Brane Effective Field Theory on Calabi-Yau Threefolds
Abstract: We consider the compactification of the dual form of $N=1$ $D=10$ supergravity on a six-dimensional Calabi-Yau manifold. An $N=1$ off-shell supergravity effective Lagrangian in four dimensions can be constructed in a dual version of the gravitational sector (new-minimal supergravity form). Superspace duality has a simple interpretation in terms of Poincaré duality of two-form cohomology. The res… ▽ More
