Improved polynomial decay for unbounded semigroups
Abstract: We obtain polynomial decay rates for $C_{0}$-semigroups, assuming that the resolvent grows polynomially at infinity in the complex right half-plane. Our results do not require the semigroup to be uniformly bounded, and for unbounded semigroups we improve upon previous results by, for example, removing a logarithmic loss on non-Hilbertian Banach spaces.

Functional calculus on weighted Sobolev spaces for the Laplacian on the half-space
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the Laplace operator on the half-space with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions. We prove that this operator admits a bounded $H^\infty$-calculus on Sobolev spaces with power weights measuring the distance to the boundary. These weights do not necessarily belong to the class of Muckenhoupt $A_p$ weights. We additionally study the corresponding Dirichlet and Neumann… ▽ More

Counterexamples to maximal regularity for operators in divergence form
Abstract: In this paper, we present counterexamples to maximal $L^p$-regularity for a parabolic PDE. The example is a second-order operator in divergence form with space and time-dependent coefficients. It is well-known from Lions' theory that such operators admit maximal $L^2$-regularity on $H^{-1}$ under a coercivity condition on the coefficients, and without any regularity conditions in time and space. Strongly Kreiss Bounded Operators in UMD Banach Spaces
Abstract: In this paper we give growth estimates for $\|T^n\|$ for $n\to \infty$ in the case $T$ is a strongly Kreiss bounded operator on a UMD Banach space $X$. In several special cases we provide explicit growth rates. This includes known cases such as Hilbert and $L^p$-spaces, but also intermediate UMD spaces such as non-commutative $L^p$-spaces and variable Lebesgue spaces.

An extrapolation result in the variational setting: improved regularity, compactness, and applications to quasilinear systems
Abstract: In this paper we consider the variational setting for SPDE on a Gelfand triple $(V, H, V^*)$. Under the standard conditions on a linear coercive pair $(A,B)$, and a symmetry condition on $A$ we manage to extrapolate the classical $L^2$-estimates in time to $L^p$-estimates for some $p>2$ without any further conditions on $(A,B)$. Regularity of stochastic Volterra equations by functional calculus methods
Abstract: We establish pathwise continuity properties of solutions to a stochastic Volterra equation with an additive noise term given by a local martingale. The deterministic part is governed by an operator with an $H^\infty$-calculus and a scalar kernel. The proof relies on the dilation theorem for positive definite operator families on a Hilbert space.

Evolution families and maximal regularity for systems of parabolic equations
Abstract: In this paper we prove maximal $L^p$-regularity for a system of parabolic PDEs, where the elliptic operator $A$ has coefficients which depend on time in a measurable way and are continuous in the space variable. The proof is based on operator-theoretic methods and one of the main ingredients in the proof is the construction of an evolution family on weighted $L^q$-spaces.

Estimates for vector-valued holomorphic functions and Littlewood-Paley-Stein theory
Abstract: In this paper we consider generalized square function norms of holomorphic functions with values in a Banach space. One of the main results is a characterization of embeddings of the form \[L^p(X)\subseteq γ(X) \subseteq L^q(X),\] in terms of the type $p$ and cotype $q$ for the Banach space $X$. As an application we prove $L^p$-estimates for vector-valued Littlewood-Paley-Stein $g$-functions and d… ▽ More

On the $\ell^s$-boundedness of a family of integral operators
Abstract: In this paper we prove an $\ell^s$-boundedness result for integral operators with operator-valued kernels. The proofs are based on extrapolation techniques with weights due to Rubio de Francia. The results will be applied by the first and third author in a subsequent paper where a new approach to maximal $L^p$-regularity for parabolic problems with time-dependent generator is developed.

Maximal regularity for non-autonomous equations with measurable dependence on time
Abstract: In this paper we study maximal $L^p$-regularity for evolution equations with time-dependent operators $A$. We merely assume a measurable dependence on time. In the first part of the paper we present a new sufficient condition for the $L^p$-boundedness of a class of vector-valued singular integrals which does not rely on Hörmander conditions in the time variable. This is then used to develop an abs… ▽ More

Characterization of a class of embeddings for function spaces with Muckenhoupt weights
Abstract: For function spaces equipped with Muckenhoupt weights, the validity of continuous Sobolev embeddings in case $p_0\leq p_1$ is characterized. Extensions to Jawerth-Franke embeddings, vector-valued spaces and examples involving some prominent weights are also provided.

$R$-boundedness versus $γ$-boundedness
Abstract: It is well-known that in Banach spaces with finite cotype, the $R$-bounded and $γ$-bounded families of operators coincide. If in addition $X$ is a Banach lattice, then these notions can be expressed as square function estimates. It is also clear that $R$-boundedness implies $γ$-boundedness. In this note we show that all other possible inclusions fail. Furthermore, we will prove that $R$-boundednes… ▽ More

On the R-boundedness of stochastic convolution operators
Abstract: The $R$-boundedness of certain families of vector-valued stochastic convolution operators with scalar-valued square integrable kernels is the key ingredient in the recent proof of stochastic maximal $L^p$-regularity, $2<p<\infty$, for certain classes of sectorial operators acting on spaces $X=L^q(μ)$, $2\le q<\infty$. This paper presents a systematic study of $R$-boundedness of such families. Our… ▽ More

A new approach to stochastic evolution equations with adapted drift
Abstract: In this paper we develop a new approach to stochastic evolution equations with an unbounded drift $A$ which is dependent on time and the underlying probability space in an adapted way. It is well-known that the semigroup approach to equations with random drift leads to adaptedness problems for the stochastic convolution term. In this paper we give a new representation formula for the stochastic co… ▽ More

Pointwise multiplication on vector-valued function spaces with power weights
Abstract: We investigate pointwise multipliers on vector-valued function spaces over $\mathbb{R}^d$, equipped with Muckenhoupt weights. The main result is that in the natural parameter range, the characteristic function of the half-space is a pointwise multiplier on Bessel-potential spaces with values in a UMD Banach space. This is proved for a class of power weights, including the unweighted case, and exte… ▽ More

Stochastic integration in Banach spaces - a survey
Abstract: This paper presents a brief survey of the theory of stochastic integration in Banach spaces. Expositions of the stochastic integrals in martingale type 2 spaces and UMD spaces are presented, as well as some applications of the latter to vector-valued Malliavin calculus and the stochastic maximal regularity problem. A new proof of the stochastic maximal regularity theorem is included.

Maximal gamma-regularity
Abstract: In this paper we prove maximal regularity estimates in "square function spaces" which are commonly used in harmonic analysis, spectral theory, and stochastic analysis. In particular, they lead to a new class of maximal regularity results for both deterministic and stochastic equations in $L^p$-spaces with $1<p<\infty$. For stochastic equations, the case $1<p<2$ was not covered in the literature so… ▽ More

Traces and embeddings of anisotropic function spaces
Abstract: In this paper we characterize the trace spaces of a class of weighted function spaces of intersection type with mixed regularities. To a large extent we can overcome the difficulty of mixed scales by employing a microscopic improvement in Sobolev and mixed derivative embeddings with fixed integrability. We apply the general results to prove maximal $L^p$-$L^q$-regularity for the linearized, fully… ▽ More
