This paper follows series of our works on the applicability of various machine learning methods to the morphological galaxy classification (Vavilova et al., 2021, 2022). We exploited the sample of 315776 SDSS DR9 galaxies with absolute stellar magnitudes of -24m<Mr<-19.4m at 0.003<z<0.1 as a target data set for the CNN classifier based on the DenseNet-201. Because it is tightly overlapped with the Galaxy Zoo 2 (GZ2) sample, we use these annotated data as the training data set to classify galaxies into 34 detailed features. In the presence of a pronounced difference of visual parameters between galaxies from the GZ2 training data set and galaxies without known morphological parameters, we applied novel procedures, which allowed us for the first time to get rid of this difference for smaller and fainter SDSS galaxies.
We describe in detail the adversarial validation technique as well as how we managed the optimal train-test split of galaxies from the training data set. We have also found optimal galaxy image transformations to increase the classifier generalization ability. It can be considered as another way to improve the human bias for those galaxy images that had a poor vote classification in the GZ project. Such an approach, likely auto-immunization, when the CNN classifier trained on very good images is able to retrain bad images from the same homogeneous sample, can be considered co-planar to other methods of combating the human bias.
The accuracy of CNN classifier is in the range of 83.3-99.4 percent depending on 32 features. As a result, for the first time, we assigned the detailed morphological classification for more than 140K low-redshift galaxies, especially at the fainter end. We accentuate on the typical problem points of galaxy CNN image classification from the astronomical point of view. The catalogs will be available through the VizieR.

We applied the image-based approach with a convolutional neural network model to the sample of low-redshifts galaxies with $-24^{m}<M_{r}<-19.4^{m}$ from the SDSS DR9. We divided it into two subsamples, SDSS DR9 galaxy dataset and Galaxy Zoo 2 (GZ2) dataset, considering them as the inference and training datasets, respectively. As a result, we created the morphological catalog of 315782 galaxies at 0.02<z<0.1, where morphological five classes and 34 detailed features (bar, rings, number of spiral arms, mergers, etc.) were first defined for 216148 galaxies (inference dataset) by the image-based CNN classifier. For the rest of galaxies the initial morphological classification was re-assigned as in the GZ2 project.
Our method shows the promising performance of morphological classification attaining more 93 % of accuracy for five classes morphology prediction except the cigar-shaped (75 %) and completely rounded (83 %) galaxies. Main results are presented in the catalog of 19468 completely rounded, 27321 rounded in-between, 3235 cigar-shaped, 4099 edge-on, 18615 spiral, and 72738 general low-redshift galaxies of the studied SDSS sample. As for the classification of galaxies by their detailed structural morphological features, our CNN model gives the accuracy in the range of 92-99 % depending on features, a number of galaxies with the given feature in the inference dataset, and the galaxy image quality. We demonstrate that implication of the CNN model with adversarial validation and adversarial image data augmentation improves classification of smaller and fainter SDSS galaxies with $m_{r}$ <17.7.

The Voronoi tessellation is a natural way of space segmentation, which has many applications in various fields of science and technology, as well as in social sciences and visual art. The varieties of the Voronoi tessellation methods are commonly used in computational fluid dynamics, computational geometry, geolocation and logistics, game dev programming, cartography, engineering, liquid crystal electronic technology, machine learning, etc. The very innovative results were obtained in astronomy, namely for a large-scale galaxy distribution and cosmic web pattern, for revealing the quasi-periodicity in a pencil-beam survey, for a description of constraints on the isotropic cosmic microwave background and the explosion scenario likely supernova events, for image processing, adaptive smoothing, segmentation, for signal-to-noise ratio balancing, for spectrography data analysis as well as in the moving-mesh cosmology simulation. We briefly describe these results, paying more attention to the practical application of the Voronoi tessellation related to the spatial large-scale galaxy distribution.

In this paper we report the current status of a new research program. The primary goal of the "Vanishing & Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations" (VASCO) project is to search for vanishing and appearing sources using existing survey data to find examples of exceptional astrophysical transients. The implications of finding such objects extend from traditional astrophysics fields to the more exotic searches for evidence of technologically advanced civilizations. In this first paper we present new, deeper observations of the tentative candidate discovered by Villarroel et al. (2016). We then perform the first searches for vanishing objects throughout the sky by comparing 600 million objects from the US Naval Observatory Catalogue (USNO) B1.0 down to a limiting magnitude of $\sim 20 - 21$ with the recent Pan-STARRS Data Release-1 (DR1) with a limiting magnitude of $\sim$ 23.4. We find about 150,000 preliminary candidates that do not have any Pan-STARRS counterpart within a 30 arcsec radius. We show that these objects are redder and have larger proper motions than typical USNO objects. We visually examine the images for a subset of about 24,000 candidates, superseding the 2016 study with a sample ten times larger. We find about $\sim$ 100 point sources visible in only one epoch in the red band of the USNO which may be of interest in searches for strong M dwarf flares, high-redshift supernovae or other catagories of unidentified red transients.

Quickly growing computing facilities and an increasing number of extragalactic observations encourage the application of data-driven approaches to uncover hidden relations from astronomical data. In this work we raise the problem of distance reconstruction for a large number of galaxies from available extensive observations. We propose a new data-driven approach for computing distance moduli for local galaxies based on the machine-learning regression as an alternative to physically oriented methods. We use key observable parameters for a large number of galaxies as input explanatory variables for training: magnitudes in U, B, I, and K bands, corresponding colour indices, surface brightness, angular size, radial velocity, and coordinates. We performed detailed tests of the five machine-learning regression techniques for inference of $m-M$: linear, polynomial, k-nearest neighbours, gradient boosting, and artificial neural network regression. As a test set we selected 91 760 galaxies at $z<0.2$ from the NASA/IPAC extragalactic database with distance moduli measured by different independent redshift methods. We find that the most effective and precise is the neural network regression model with two hidden layers. The obtained root-mean-square error of 0.35 mag, which corresponds to a relative error of 16\%, does not depend on the distance to galaxy and is comparable with methods based on the Tully-Fisher and Fundamental Plane relations. The proposed model shows a 0.44 mag (20\%) error in the case of spectroscopic redshift absence and is complementary to existing photometric redshift methodologies. Our approach has great potential for obtaining distance moduli for around 250 000 galaxies at $z<0.2$ for which the above-mentioned parameters are already observed.

Results. We present results of a binary automated morphological classification of galaxies conducted by human labeling, multiphotometry, and supervised Machine Learning methods. We applied its to the sample of galaxies from the SDSS DR9 with 0.02 < z < 0.1 and 24m < Mr < 19.4m. To study the classifier, we used absolute magnitudes: Mu, Mg, Mr , Mi, Mz, Mu-Mr , Mg-Mi, Mu-Mg, Mr-Mz, and inverse concentration index to the center R50/R90. Using the Support vector machine classifier and the data on color indices, absolute magnitudes, inverse concentration index of galaxies with visual morphological types, we were able to classify 316 031 galaxies from the SDSS DR9 with unknown morphological types. Conclusions. The methods of Support Vector Machine and Random Forest with Scikit-learn machine learning in Python provide the highest accuracy for the binary galaxy morphological classification: 96.4% correctly classified (96.1% early E and 96.9% late L types) and 95.5% correctly classified (96.7% early E and 92.8% late L types), respectively. Applying the Support Vector Machine for the sample of 316 031 galaxies from the SDSS DR9 at z < 0.1, we found 141 211 E and 174 820 L types among them.

The paper deals with a computational method for detection of the solar system minor bodies (SSOs), whose inter-frame shifts in series of CCD-frames during the observation are commensurate with the errors in measuring their positions. These objects have velocities of apparent motion between CCD-frames not exceeding three RMS errors ($3σ$) of measurements of their positions. About 15\% of objects have a near-zero apparent motion in CCD-frames, including the objects beyond the Jupiter's orbit as well as the asteroids heading straight to the Earth.
The proposed method for detection of the object's near-zero apparent motion in series of CCD-frames is based on the Fisher f-criterion instead of using the traditional decision rules that are based on the maximum likelihood criterion. We analyzed the quality indicators of detection of the object's near-zero apparent motion applying statistical and in situ modeling techniques in terms of the conditional probability of the true detection of objects with a near-zero apparent motion.
The efficiency of method being implemented as a plugin for the Collection Light Technology (CoLiTec) software for automated asteroids and comets detection has been demonstrated. Among the objects discovered with this plugin, there was the sungrazing comet C/2012 S1 (ISON). Within 26 minutes of the observation, the comet's image has been moved by three pixels in a series of four CCD-frames (the velocity of its apparent motion at the moment of discovery was equal to 0.8 pixels per CCD-frame; the image size on the frame was about five pixels). Next verification in observations of asteroids with a near-zero apparent motion conducted with small telescopes has confirmed an efficiency of the method even in bad conditions (strong backlight from the full Moon). So, we recommend applying the proposed method for series of observations with four or more frames.

We describe a new iteration method to estimate asteroid coordinates, which is based on the subpixel Gaussian model of a discrete object image. The method operates by continuous parameters (asteroid coordinates) in a discrete observational space (the set of pixels potential) of the CCD frame. In this model, a kind of the coordinate distribution of the photons hitting a pixel of the CCD frame is known a priori, while the associated parameters are determined from a real digital object image. The developed method, being more flexible in adapting to any form of the object image, has a high measurement accuracy along with a low calculating complexity due to a maximum likelihood procedure, which is implemented to obtain the best fit instead of a least-squares method and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm for the minimisation of the quadratic form.
Since 2010, the method was tested as the basis of our CoLiTec (Collection Light Technology) software, which has been installed at several observatories of the world with the aim of automatic discoveries of asteroids and comets on a set of CCD frames. As the result, four comets (C/2010 X1 (Elenin), P/2011 NO1(Elenin), C/2012 S1 (ISON), and P/2013 V3 (Nevski)) as well as more than 1500 small Solar System bodies (including five NEOs, 21 Trojan asteroids of Jupiter, and one Centaur object) were discovered. We discuss these results that allowed us to compare the accuracy parameters of a new method and confirm its efficiency.
In 2014, the CoLiTec software was recommended to all members of the Gaia-FUN-SSO network for analysing observations as a tool to detect faint moving objects in frames.

We analyzed the luminosity-temperature-mass of gas (L_{X} - T - M_{g}) relation for sample of galaxy clusters that have been observed by the Chandra satellite. We used 21 high-redshift clusters (0.4 < z < 1.4).
We assumed a power-law relation between the X-ray luminosity of galaxy clusters and its temperature and redshift L_{X} ~ (1+z)^{A_{L_{X}T}}T^{beta_{L_{X}T}}. We obtained that for an Omega_{m} = 0.27 and Lambda = 0.73 universe, A_{L_{X}T} = 1.50 +/- 0.23, beta_{L_{X}T} = 2.55 +/- 0.07 (for 68% confidence level).
Then, we found the evolution of M_{g} - T relation is small. We assumed a power-law relation in the form M_{g} ~ (1+z)^{A_{M_{g}T}}T^{beta_{M_{g}T}} also, and we obtained A_{M_{g}T} = -0.58 +/- 0.13 and beta_{M_{g}T} = 1.77 +/- 0.16. We also obtained the evolution in M_{g} - L_{X} relation, we can conclude that such relation has strong evolution for our cosmological parameters. We used M_{g} ~ (1+z)^{A_{M_{g}L_{X}}}L^{beta_{M_{g}L_{X}}} equation for assuming this relation and we found A_{M_{g}L_{X}} ~ -1.86 +/- 0.34 and beta_{M_{g}L_{X}} = 0.73 +/- 0.15 for Omega_{m} = 0.27 and Lambda = 0.73 universe.
In overal, the clusters on big redshifts have much stronger evolution between correlations of luminosity, temperature and mass, then such correlations for clusters at small redshifts. We can conclude that such strong evolution in L_{X} - T - M_{g} correlations indicate that in the past the clusters have bigger temperature and higher luminosity.

Fitting the mass profile with a generalized NFW model, we got the inner slope alpha, with alpha = 0.94 +/- 0.13. This approach allows to select small galaxy groups and isolated galaxies in different environment and find the isolated systems. The volume-limited sample of galaxies from the SDSS DR5 spectroscopic survey was used. We conclude that in such small groups as pairs and triplets the segregation by luminosity is clearly observed: galaxies in the isolated pairs and triplets are on average two times more luminous than isolated galaxies. We consider the dark matter content in different systems. The median values of mass-to-luminosity ratio are 12 M_sol/L_sol for the isolated pairs and 44 M_sol/L_sol for the isolated triplets; 7 (8) M_sol/L_sol for the most compact pairs (triplets). We found also that systems in the denser environment have greater rms velocity and mass-to-luminosity ratio.

Statistically significant excess of the hierarchical configurations for the galaxy triplets of the Local Supercluster (LS) is established. The samples of the Interacting, Northern and Southern galaxy triplets do not demonstrate the same excess. Our results testify that the model of the dark matter concentrated in the halo of individual galaxies is convenient for dynamically young systems to which the most of LS triplets belong, whereas the model of the dark matter concentrated in the triplet's volume is more convenient for the compact triplets.

3D Voronoi's tessellation method was first applied to identify groups of galaxies in the structure of a supercluster. The sample under consideration consists of more than 7000 galaxies of the Local Supercluster (LS) with radial velocities up to 3100 km/s. Because of an essential non-homogeneity of the LS catalogue, it was proposed to overscale distances in such an ''artificial'' way that the concentration of galaxies was varying as with increase of the distance a power-behaved function with the same exponent beta as for the full homogeneous catalogue. Various parameters of clustering were taking into account: alpha (0.01, 0.1, 1%) as the part of galaxies, which have the relative volume of a Voronoi's cell smaller than the critical one for the random distribution; beta = 0, which fits to the random galaxy distribution; beta = 0.7, which is close to the pancake galaxy distribution. It is revealed that Voronoi's tessellation method depends weakly on beta-parameter, and the number of galaxies in rich structures is growing rather than in poor ones with increase of alpha-parameter. The comparison of the groups derived with the groups obtained by Karachentsev's dynamical method shows that the number of groups, which coincides by all the components, is 22%. As a whole, the dynamical method is more preferred for identifying sparsely populated galaxy groups, whereas 3D Voronoi's tessellation method is preferred for more populated ones.

We considered kinematic and virial parameters of a sample of galaxy triplets from the Local Supercluster (LS). The galaxies were selected from the LEDA database, and their radial velocities are no more than 3100 km/s. The sample contains 176 systems selected according to the Karachentsev criterion. We calculated the following median parameters of the LS triplets: rms velocity of galaxies with respect to triplet center, Sv=30 km/s; harmonic mean radius, Rh=160 kpc; virial mass Mvir=3.6x10^11 Msun; and mass-to-light ratio, Mvir/L=35 Msun/Lsun. Although various investigators used different approaches to compile samples of triple systems, general properties of the triplets in all the samples we considered agree rather satisfactorily. The LS triplets have the least mass-to-light ratio as compared to other galaxy triplet samples.
