Effect of neutron irradiation on the properties of FeSe compound in superconducting and normal states
Abstract: Effect of atomic disordering induced by irradiation with fast neutrons on the properties of the normal and superconducting states of polycrystalline samples FeSe has been studied. The irradiation with fast neutrons of fluencies up to 1.25\cdot10^20 cm^-2 at the irradiation temperature Tirr ~ 50 \degree C results in relatively small changes in the temperature of the superconducting transition T_c a… ▽ More

An improved $\eps$ expansion for three-dimensional turbulence: two-loop renormalization near two dimensions
Abstract: An improved $\eps$ expansion in the $d$-dimensional ($d > 2$) stochastic theory of turbulence is constructed at two-loop order which incorporates the effect of pole singularities at $d \to 2$ in coefficients of the $\eps$ expansion of universal quantities. For a proper account of the effect of these singularities two different approaches to the renormalization of the powerlike correlation functi… ▽ More

Shape memory ferromagnets
Abstract: In ferromagnetic alloys with shape memory large reversible strains can be obtained by rearranging the martensitic domain structure by a magnetic field. Magnetization through displacement of domain walls is possible in the presence of high magnetocrystalline anisotropy, when martensitic structure rearrangement is energetically favorable compared to the reorientation of magnetic moments. In ferrom… ▽ More

The enhancement of phase separation aspect in electron doped manganite Ca0.8Sm0.16Nd0.04MnO3
Abstract: The complex lanthanide do** of electron manganites results in enhancement of various phase separation effects in physical properties of these compounds. Selecting Ca0.8Sm0.16Nd0.04MnO3 as a model case we show that the first order structural phase transition from paramagnetic semi-metallic phase into anti-ferromagnetic semi-metallic phase at TS ~ 158 +- 4 K is marked by an abrupt decrease in ma… ▽ More

An improved $\eps$ expansion for three-dimensional turbulence: summation of nearest dimensional singularities
Abstract: An improved $\eps$ expansion in the $d$-dimensional ($d > 2$) stochastic theory of turbulence is constructed by taking into account pole singularities at $d \to 2$ in coefficients of the $\eps$ expansion of universal quantities. Effectiveness of the method is illustrated by a two-loop calculation of the Kolmogorov constant in three dimensions.

On Order-Disorder ($L2_1 \to B2^\prime$) Phase Transition in Ni$_{2+x}Mn_{1-x}$Ga Heusler Alloys
Abstract: Order-disorder phase transition in Ni$_{2+x}Mn_{1-x}$Ga Heusler alloys has been studied. It was found that the $L2_1 \to B2^{\prime}$ phase transition in Ni2+xMn1-xGa (x = 0.16 - 0.20) Heusler alloys is of second order and the temperature of this transition decreases with Ni excess.

Dilatometric study of Ni2+xMn1-xGa under magnetic field
Abstract: A study of polycrystalline and single crystalline Ni$_{2+x}$Mn$_{1-x}$Ga alloys by means of dilatometric and strain gage techniques shows that large strain can be induced in the temperature range of the martensitic transformation by application of an external magnetic field. The biggest strain induced by magnetic field was observed in the samples of chemical compositions where the structural and… ▽ More

These data were analyzed together with literature data concerning specific heat, magnetic losses and ultrasonic velocity. First evidence for charge ordering in NaV$_2$O$_5$ from Raman spectroscopy
Abstract: We argue on the basis of symmetry selection rules and Raman scattering spectra that NaV$_2$O$_5$ undergoes a charge ordering phase transition at T$_c$=34 K. Such a transition is characterized by the redistribution of the charges at the phase transition and corresponds to the change of the vanadium ions, from uniform V$^{4.5+}$ to two different V$^{4+}$ and V$^{5+}$ states. High frequency dielectric and magnetic anomaly at the phase transition in NaV2O5

Anomalous thermal conductivity of NaV2O5 as compared to conventional spin-Peierls system CuGeO3
Abstract: A huge increase of thermal conductivity k is observed at the phase transition in stoichiometric NaV2O5. This anomaly decreases and gradually disappears with deviation from stoichiometry in Na(1-x}V2O5 (x = 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, and 0.04). This behavior is compared with that of pure and Zn-doped CuGeO3 where only modest kinks in the k(T) curves are observed at the spin-Peierls transition. The change… ▽ More
