Amenable actions of real and $p$-adic algebraic groups
Abstract: Let $K$ be a locally compact field of characteristic 0. Let $G$ be a linear algebraic group defined over $K$, acting algebraically on an algebraic variety $V$. We prove that the action of $G(K)$ (the group of $K$-rational points of $G$) on $V(K)$ is topologically amenable, if and only if all points stabilizers in $G(K)$ are solvable-by-compact. The linear $\SL_2(\Z)$-action on $\T^n$: ergodic and von Neumann algebraic aspects
Abstract: The unique irreducible representation of $\SL_2(\R)$ on $\R^n$ induces an action, called the \textit{linear action}, of $\SL_2(\Z)$ on the torus $\T^n$ for every $n\geq 2$. For $n$ odd, it factors through $\PSL_2(\Z)$, so we denote by $G_n$ the group $\SL_2(\Z)$ for $n$ even, and $\PSL_2(\Z)$ for $n$ odd. Uniform Poincaré inequality in o-minimal structures
Abstract: We first define the trace on a domain $Ω$ which is definable in an o-minimal structure. We then show that every function $u\in W^{1,p}(Ω)$ vanishing on the boundary in the trace sense satisfies Poincaré inequality. We finally show, given a definable family of domains $(Ω_t)_{t\in \mathbb{R}^k}$, that the constant of this inequality remains bounded, if so does the volume of $Ω_t$.

Abstract: We prove that the properties of acting metrically properly on some space with walls or some CAT(0) cube complex are closed by taking the wreath product with \Z. We also give a lower bound for the (equivariant) Hilbert space compression of H\wr\Z in terms of the (equivariant) Hilbert space compression of H.

Isometric group actions on Hilbert spaces: growth of cocycles
Abstract: We study growth of 1-cocycles of locally compact groups, with values in unitary representations. Discussing the existence of 1-cocycles with linear growth, we obtain the following alternative for a class of amenable groups G containing polycyclic groups and connected amenable Lie groups: either G has no quasi-isometric embedding into Hilbert space, or G admits a proper cocompact action on some E… ▽ More

Unbounded symmetric operators in $K$-homology and the Baum-Connes Conjecture
Abstract: Using the unbounded picture of analytical K-homology, we associate a well-defined K-homology class to an unbounded symmetric operator satisfying certain mild technical conditions. We also establish an ``addition formula'' for the Dirac operator on the circle and for the Dolbeault operator on closed surfaces. Two proofs are provided, one using topology and the other one, surprisingly involved, st… ▽ More
