Wave scattering in frequency domain
Abstract: This report shows formulation of wave scattering in frequency domain. The formulation provides an understanding of S-matrix solver which is named as Scattering Matrix Analyzer (SMatrAn). The S-matrix has the whole of amplitude and phase information for reflected and transmitted waves from a complicated scatterer. Accurate S-matrix leads to quantitative evaluation of scattering wave. We can und… ▽ More

A new search for the $K_{L} \to π^0 ν\overlineν$ and $K_{L} \to π^{0} X^{0}$ decays
Abstract: We searched for the $CP$-violating rare decay of neutral kaon, $K_{L} \to π^0 ν\overlineν$, in data from the first 100 hours of physics running in 2013 of the J-PARC KOTO experiment. One candidate event was observed while $0.34\pm0.16$ background events were expected. We set an upper limit of $5.1\times10^{-8}$ for the branching fraction at the 90\% confidence level (C.L.). An upper limit of… ▽ More

Numerical formulation of three-dimensional scattering problems for optical structures
Abstract: This paper describes a numerical formulation for calculating wave propagation with high precision in a three-dimensional system. Yee's discretization scheme is used to formulate a frequency domain method that is compatible with the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) procedure. When the S-matrix satisfies a unitarity (power flow conservation) condition, the method enables arbitrary S-matrix eleme… ▽ More

Few-electron molecular states and their transitions in a single InAs quantum dot molecule
Abstract: We study electronic configurations in a single pair of vertically coupled self-assembled InAs quantum dots, holding just a few electrons. By comparing the experimental data of non-linear single-electron transport spectra in a magnetic field with many-body calculations, we identify the spin and orbital configurations to confirm the formation of molecular states by filling both the quantum mechani… ▽ More

Polarization-dependent shift in excitonic Zeeman splitting of self-assembled InAlAs quantum dots
Abstract: We report the optical spectroscopic results of a single self-assembled InAlAs/Al GaAs quantum dot. The polarization-dependent shift of the Zeeman splitting in a single InAlAs QD has been observed. The induced Overhauser field is estimated to be 0.16 T in this InAlAs QD and the magnitude is shown to be controllable by the degree of circular polarization of excitation light.
