While the coronavirus has been around for a significant period of time, people and authorities still feel the need for awareness due to the mutating nature of the virus and therefore varying symptoms and prevention strategies. People and authorities resort to social media platforms the most to share awareness information and voice out their opinions due to their massive outreach in spreading the word in practically no time. People use a number of languages to communicate over social media platforms based on their familiarity, language outreach, and availability on social media platforms. The entire world has been hit by the coronavirus and India is the second worst-hit country in terms of the number of active coronavirus cases. India, being a multilingual country, offers a great opportunity to study the outreach of various languages that have been actively used across social media platforms. In this study, we aim to study the dataset related to COVID-19 collected in the period between February 2020 to July 2020 specifically for regional languages in India. This could be helpful for the Government of India, various state governments, NGOs, researchers, and policymakers in studying different issues related to the pandemic. We found that English has been the mode of communication in over 64% of tweets while as many as twelve regional languages in India account for approximately 4.77% of tweets.

People might not be close-at-hand but they still are - by virtue of the social network. The social network has transformed lives in many ways. People can express their views, opinions and life experiences on various platforms be it Twitter, Facebook or any other medium there is. Such events constitute of reviewing a product or service, conveying views on political banters, predicting share prices or giving feedback on the government policies like Demonetization or GST. These social platforms can be used to investigate the insights of the emotional curve that the general public is generating. This kind of analysis can help make a product better, predict the future prospects and also to implement the public policies in a better way. Such kind of research on sentiment analysis is increasing rapidly. In this research paper, we have performed temporal analysis and spatial analysis on 1,42,508 and 58,613 tweets respectively and these tweets were posted during the post-GST implementation period from July 04, 2017 to July 25, 2017. The tweets were collected using the Twitter streaming API. A well-known lexicon, National Research Council Canada (NRC) emotion Lexicon is used for opinion mining that exhibits a blend of eight basic emotions i.e. joy, trust, anticipation, surprise, fear sadness, anger, disgust and two sentiments i.e. positive and negative for 6,554 words.

Pervasive healthcare is an emerging technology that aims to provide round-the-clock monitoring of several vital signs of patients using various health sensors, specialized communication protocols, and intelligent context-aware applications. Pervasive healthcare applications proactively contact the caregiver provided any abnormality arises in the health condition of a monitored patient. It has been a boon to the patients suffering from different diseases and requiring continuous monitoring and care, such as, disabled individuals, elderly and weak persons living alone, children of different ages, and adults who are susceptible to near-fatal falls or sudden increases in blood pressure, heart rates, stress level, etc. Existing surveys on pervasive healthcare cover generic techniques or a particular application, like fall detection. In this paper, we carry out a comprehensive coverage of several common disorders addressed by pervasive healthcare in recent years. We roughly classify different diseases by age groups of patients and then discuss various hardware and software tools and techniques to detect or treat them. We have also included detailed tabular classification of a large selection of significant research articles in pervasive healthcare.
