Pfister's local-global principle for Azumaya algebras with involution
Abstract: We prove Pfister's local-global principle for hermitian forms over Azumaya algebras with involution over semilocal rings, and show in particular that the Witt group of nonsingular hermitian forms is $2$-primary torsion. Our proof relies on a hermitian version of Sylvester's law of inertia, which is obtained from an investigation of the connections between a pairing of hermitian forms extensively s… ▽ More

Unikernel Linux (UKL)
Abstract: This paper presents Unikernel Linux (UKL), a path toward integrating unikernel optimization techniques in Linux, a general purpose operating system. UKL adds a configuration option to Linux allowing for a single, optimized process to link with the kernel directly, and run at supervisor privilege. Slowing Down for Performance and Energy: An OS-Centric Study in Network Driven Workloads
Abstract: This paper studies three fundamental aspects of an OS that impact the performance and energy efficiency of network processing: 1) batching, 2) processor energy settings, and 3) the logic and instructions of the OS networking paths. Trichotomy for positive cones and a maximality counterexample
