From classical to modern central limit theorems
Abstract: De Moivre (1733), investigating the limit distribution of the binomial distribution, was the first to discover the existence of the normal distribution and the central limit theorem. In this review article, we briefly recall the history of classical central limit theorem and martingale central limit theorem, and introduce a new direction of central limit theorem, namely nonlinear central limit the… ▽ More

On Log-Concave-Tailed Chaoses and the Restricted Isometry Property
Abstract: In this paper, we obtain a $p$-th moment bound for the suprema of a log-concave-tailed nonhomogeneous chaos process, which is optimal in some special cases. A crucial ingredient of the proof is a novel decoupling inequality, which may be of independent interest. With this $p$-th moment bound, we show two uniform Hanson-Wright type deviation inequalities for $α$-subexponential entries (… ▽ More

Quantum Algorithmic Gate-Based Computing: Grover Quantum Search Algorithm Design in Quantum Software Engineering
Abstract: The difference between classical and quantum algorithms (QA) is following: problem solved by QA is coded in the structure of the quantum operators. Input to QA in this case is always the same. Output of QA says which problem coded. In some sense, give a function to QA to analyze and QA returns its property as an answer without quantitative computing. QA studies qualitative properties of the functi… ▽ More

Approximation of Sums of Locally Dependent Random Variables via Perturbation of Stein Operator
Abstract: Let $(X_{i}, i\in J)$ be a family of locally dependent nonnegative integer-valued random variables, and consider the sum $W=\sum\nolimits_{i\in J}X_i$. We first establish a general error upper bound for $d_{TV}(W, M)$ using Stein's method, where the target variable $M$ is either the mixture of Poisson distribution and binomial or negative binomial distribution. De la Peña \cite{d} establishes a nice exponential inequality for discrete time locally square integrable martingale . Inference via Randomized Test Statistics
Abstract: We show that external randomization may enforce the convergence of test statistics to their limiting distributions in particular cases. This results in a sharper inference. Our approach is based on a central limit theorem for weighted sums. A multivariate CLT for <<typical>> weighted sums with rate of convergence of order O(1/n)
Abstract: The "typical" asymptotic behavior of the weighted sums of independent random vectors in $k$-dimensional space is considered. It is shown that in this case the rate of convergence in the multivariate central limit theorem is of order $O(1/n)$. This extends the one-dimensional Klartag and Sodin (2011) result.

The weights are assumed to be independent identically distributed random variables which have a power-law distribution. The proof is based on the Chen--Stein approach an… ▽ More

Calculating entropy by Ma's method for a system of $k$-mers on a square lattice
Abstract: Boltzmann's entropy is an important feature of any dynamic system. Calculating Boltzmann's entropy directly as the logarithm of the total number of microstates for a current macrostate is difficult for large systems. In the case of studying the diffusion of $k$-mers (linear segments of $k$ adjacent cells) on a lattice, the complexity of counting the possible microstates grows exponentially with th… ▽ More

Characterisation of diffusion-driven self-organisation of rodlike particles by means of entropy of generalised two-dimensional words

Large ball probability, Gaussian comparison and anti-concentration
Abstract: We derive tight non-asymptotic bounds for the Kolmogorov distance between the probabilities of two Gaussian elements to hit a ball in a Hilbert space. The key property of these bounds is that they are dimension-free and depend on the nuclear (Schatten-one) norm of the difference between the covariance operators of the elements and on the norm of the mean shift. The obtained bounds significantly im… ▽ More
