We introduce the discrete Green's function to elucidate how resource fluctuations determine flow fluctuations in a network optimizing a global cost function. To enhance the robustness of the network against fluctuations, we develop the schemes of optimal bandwidth allocation in links and optimal resource adjustment in nodes. With the total bandwidth of the network fixed, the approach of optimal bandwidth allocation is to increase the bandwidth in links such that the number of overloaded links or the amount of excess flows in networks under fluctuations can be minimized. Similarly, the approach of optimal resource adjustment is to minimize the number of overloaded links in networks under fluctuations with the total resource change in the network fixed. Compared with the conventional approach of proportionate bandwidth assignment or resource reduction, it is found that the optimized bandwidth allocation or resource adjustment can highly enhance the stability of the networks against fluctuations. The changes of loads and currents prescribed by the optimal bandwidth allocation and resource adjustment schemes are correlated with each other, except for some nodes that exhibit relay effects.

Halide perovskites have indisputably exceptional optical and electronic properties, which are attractive for next-generation optoelectronic device technologies. We report on a reversible photoluminescence (PL) peak in iodide-based organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite materials under a two-photon absorption (TPA) process, while tuning the excitation wavelength. This phenomenon occurs when the incoming femtosecond (fs) laser photon energy is higher than a threshold energy. Intriguingly, this phenomenon also occurs in other kinds of iodide perovskite materials. Moreover, two more shorter wavelength peaks exhibit and become prominent when the excitation photon energy is being tuned in the high energy wavelength spectrum, while laser power is remained constant. However, the spectral PL energy window between the original material peak and the first high energy peak can vary based on the optoelectronic properties of the prepared films. The same phenomenon of reversible PL peak is also observed in various iodide based organic-inorganic halides as well as all-inorganic perovskite single crystals and polycrystals. We attribute to the reversible PL peak to the photoinduced structural deformation and the associated change in optical bandgap of iodide perovskites under the femtosecond laser excitation. Our findings will introduce a new degree of freedom in future research as well as adding new functionalities to optoelectronic applications in these emerging perovskite materials.

Abstract:
We show theoretically that, in the limit of weak dispersion, one-dimensional (1D) binary centrosymmetric photonic crystals can support topological edge modes in all photonic band gaps. By analyzing their bulk band topology, these "harmonic" topological edge modes can be designed in a way that they exist at all photonic band gaps opened at the center of the Brillouin Zone, or at all gaps opened at…

We show theoretically that, in the limit of weak dispersion, one-dimensional (1D) binary centrosymmetric photonic crystals can support topological edge modes in all photonic band gaps. By analyzing their bulk band topology, these "harmonic" topological edge modes can be designed in a way that they exist at all photonic band gaps opened at the center of the Brillouin Zone, or at all gaps opened at the zone boundaries, or both. The results may suggest a new approach to achieve robust multi-frequency coupled modes for applications in nonlinear photonics, such as frequency up-conversion.
