Antidirected trees in dense digraphs
Abstract: We show that if $D$ is an $n$-vertex digraph with more than $(k-1)n$ arcs that does not contain any of three forbidden digraphs, then $D$ contains every antidirected tree on $k$ arcs. The forbidden digraphs are those orientations of $K_{2, \lceil k/12\rceil}$ where each of the vertices in the class of size two has either out-degree $0$ or in-degree $0$. This proves a conjecture of Addario-Berry et… ▽ More

On the Treewidth of Token and Johnson Graphs
Abstract: Let $G$ be a graph on $n$ vertices and $1 \le k \le n$ a fixed integer. The $k$-token graph of $G$ is the graph, $F_k(G)$, whose vertex set is equal to all the $k$-subsets of $V(G)$; where two of them are adjacent whenever their symmetric difference is an edge of $G$. In this paper we study the treewidth of $F_k(G)$, when $G$ is a star, path or a complete graph. We show that in the first two cases… ▽ More

On the Automorphism Group of Token Graphs of Complete Bipartite Graphs
Abstract: Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and let $k\in \{1,2,\ldots,n-1\}$. The $k$-token graph of $G$ is the graph, whose vertices are all the $k$-subsets of vertices of $G$, where two such $k$-sets are adjacent whenever their symmetric difference is an edge of $G$. In this paper, we determine the automorphism group of the $k$-token graph of the complete bipartite graph $K_{m,n}$.

Connected ($C_4$,Diamond)-free Graphs Are Uniquely Reconstructible from Their Token Graphs
Abstract: A diamond is the graph that is obtained from removing an edge from the complete graph on $4$ vertices. A ($C_4$,diamond)-free graph is a graph that does not contain a diamond or a cycle on four vertices as induced subgraphs. Let $G$ be a connected ($C_4$,diamond)-free graph on $n$ vertices. Let $1 \le k \le n-1$ be an integer. The $k$-token graph, $F_k(G)$, of $G$ is the graph whose vertices are a… ▽ More

Hamiltonicity of the Complete Double Vertex Graph of some Join Graphs
Abstract: The complete double vertex graph $M_2(G)$ of $G$ is defined as the graph whose vertices are the $2$-multisubsets of $V(G)$, and two of such vertices are adjacent in $M_2(G)$ if their symmetric difference (as multisets) is a pair of adjacent vertices in $G$. In this paper we exhibit an infinite family of graphs $G$ (containing Hamiltonian and non-Hamiltonian graphs) for which $M_2(G)$ are Hamiltoni… ▽ More

Hamiltonicity of Token Graphs of some Join Graphs
Abstract: Let $G$ be a simple graph of order $n$ and let $k$ be an integer such that $1\leq k\leq n-1$. The $k$-token graph $G^{\{k\}}$ of $G$ is the graph whose vertices are the $k$-subsets of $V(G)$, where two vertices are adjacent in $G^{\{k\}}$ whenever their symmetric difference is a pair of adjacent vertices in $G$. On the Laplacian spectra of token graphs
Abstract: We study the Laplacian spectrum of token graphs, also called symmetric powers of graphs. The $k$-token graph $F_k(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the graph whose vertices are the $k$-subsets of vertices from $G$, two of which being adjacent whenever their symmetric difference is a pair of adjacent vertices in $G$. In this paper, we give a relationship between the Laplacian spectra of any two token graphs of… ▽ More

On the dimension of the map** class groups of a non-orientable surface
Abstract: Let $\mathcal{N}_g$ be the map** class group of a non-orientable closed surface. We prove that the proper cohomological dimension, the proper geometric dimension, and the virtual cohomological dimension of $\mathcal{N}_g$ are equal whenever $g\neq 4,5$. In particular, there exists a model for the classifying space of $\mathcal{N}_g$ for proper actions of dimension… ▽ More

Empty Rainbow Triangles in $k$-colored Point Sets
Abstract: Let $S$ be a set of $n$ points in general position in the plane. Suppose that each point of $S$ has been assigned one of $k \ge 3$ possible colors and that there is the same number, $m$, of points of each color class. A polygon with vertices on $S$ is empty if it does not contain points of $S$ in its interior; and it is rainbow if all its vertices have different colors. Let $f(k,m)$ be the minimum… ▽ More

On the virtually-cyclic dimension of surface braid groups and right-angled Artin groups
Abstract: We give a bound for the virtually cyclic dimension of groups with a normal subgroup of finite index which satisfies that every infinite virtually-cyclic subgroup is contained in a unique maximal such subgroup. As an application we provide a bound for the virtually-cyclic dimension for the braid group of a closed surface with genus greater than 2 and for right-angled Artin groups.
