This work reports on a novel and simple synthetic route for the growth of metal-organic crystal [Cu(C2O4)(4-aminopyridine)2(H2O)]n of large size using the technique of liquid-liquid diffusion or layer diffusion. Single crystal X-ray diffraction measurements revealed a very good quality of the grown single crystals with a small value 1.101 of goodness of fit R. Rietveld refinement done on powder X-ray diffractogram obtained on few single crystals crushed together revealed a very small value of R as 3.45, indicating very good crystal quality in a batch of crystals. Density functional theory with three different basis sets generated the optimized geometry of a monomeric unit as well as its vibrational spectra. Comparison between experimentally obtained bond lengths, bond angles, IR frequencies etc. suggest (B3LYP/LanL2DZ, B3LYP/6-311++ G(d,p) basis set to describe the properties the best. Magnetic susceptibility measurements confirm the metal-organic crystal [Cu(C2O4)(4-aminopyridine)2(H2O)]n to be a very good representation of a spin 1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet.

Quantum entanglement is a quantum mechanical phenomenon where the quantum state of a many-body system with many degrees of freedom cannot be described independently of the state of each body with a given degree of freedom, no matter how far apart in space each body is. Entanglement is not only considered a resource in quantum information but also believed to affect complex condensed matter systems. Detecting and quantifying multi-particle entanglement in a many-body system is thus of fundamental significance for both quantum information science and condensed matter physics. Here, we detect and quantify multipartite entanglement in a spin 1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain in a bulk solid. Multipartite entanglement was detected using quantum Fisher information which was obtained using dynamic susceptibility measured via inelastic neutron scattering. The scaling behaviour of quantum Fisher information was found to identify the spin 1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain to belong to a class of strongly entangled quantum phase transitions with divergent multipartite entanglement.

We report a comprehensive investigation of La0.2Pr0.4Ca0.4MnO3 to clarify the micrometre scale phase separation phenomenon in the mixed valent manganite (La,Pr,Ca)MnO3. The compound shows multiple magnetic transitions, in which the charge-ordered state is converted into a ferromagnetic state in steps with the application of a magnetic field. The ac susceptibility measurements show that the glassy transition at low temperatures does not depend on the frequency, thus indicating the absence of any spin glass behaviour. Magnetization as well as heat capacity measurements indicate that this low temperature transition is magnetic field dependent. The field dependent resistivity at 2K shows a sharp drop indicating that the sample behaviour changes from a high resistive state to a low resistive state, corroborating the conversion of charge-ordered insulating (COI) phase to a ferromagnetic metallic (FMM) phase. Our results point towards the existence of phase separation, rigidity of the low temperature glassy-like phase as well as the conversion of COI phase to FMM phase by the application of magnetic fields.

The magnetic ground state of double perovskite Sr2DyRuO6 has been investigated using muon spin rotation and relaxation (muSR), neutron powder diffraction (NPD) and inelastic neutron scattering (INS), in addition to heat capacity and magnetic susceptibility (ac and dc) measurements. A clear signature of a long-range ordered magnetic ground state has been observed in the heat capacity data, which exhibit two sharp anomalies at 39.5 and 36 K found as well in the magnetic data. Further confirmation of long-range magnetic ordering comes from a sharp drop in the muon initial asymmetry and a peak in the relaxation rate at 40 K, along with a weak anomaly near 36 K. Based on temperature dependent NPD, the low temperature magnetic structure contains two interpenetrating lattices of Dy and Ru5, forming an antiferromagnetic ground state below 39.5 K with magnetic propagation vector k = (0,0,0). The magnetic moments of Dy and Ru at 3.5 K are pointing along the crystallographic b-axis with values of muDy = 4.92(10) muB and muRu = 1.94(7) muB, respectively. The temperature dependence of the Ru moments follows a mean field type behaviour, while that of the Dy moments exhibits a deviation indicating that the primary magnetic ordering is induced by the order of the 4d electrons of Ru rather than that of its proper 4f Dy electrons. The origin of the second anomaly observed in the heat capacity data at 36.5 K must be connected to a very small spin reorientation as the NPD studies do not reveal any clear change in the observed magnetic Bragg peaks positions or intensities between these two transitions. INS measurements reveal the presence of crystal field excitations (CEF) in the paramagnetic state with overall CEF splitting of 73.8 meV, in agreement with the point change model calculations.

For thin film of LCMBO (with x = 0.02), a significant increase in the magnetization and ferromagnetic ordering temperature (TC) are observed. Also, about 98% magnetoresistance (MR) and unusually large (~ 42%) anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) is observed at 50 K in the same LCMBO (for x = 0.02) thin film. This observed improvement in TC, MR and AMR in LCMBO (with x = 0.02) thin film may be attributed to the modulation of the trapped electrons through JT-distortions due to the replacement of Mn+3 ions by larger Bi+3 ions. With further increase in bismuth do** (for x = 0.05) at the B-site, a significant decrease in magnetization and TC have been observed.

In this paper, we report the epitaxial thin films growth of half-metallic CoFeMnGe Heusler alloy on MgO (001) substrate using pulsed laser deposition system, along with the study of structural, magnetic and transport properties. The magnetic property measurements of the thin film suggest a soft ferromagnetic state at room temperature with an in-plane magnetic anisotropy and a Curie temperature well above the room temperature. Anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) ratio and temperature dependent electrical resistivity measurements of the thin film indicate the compound to be half-metallic in nature and therefore suitable for the fabrications of spintronics devices.

We have successfully deposited the thin films of quaternary spin-gapless semiconductor CoFeMnSi Heusler alloy on MgO (001) substrates using a pulsed laser deposition system. These films show epitaxial growth along (001) direction and display uniform and smooth crystalline surface. The magnetic properties reveal that the film is ferromagnetically soft along the in-plane direction and its Curie temperature is well above 400 K. The electrical conductivity of the film is low and exhibits a nearly temperature independent semiconducting behaviour. The estimated temperature coefficient of resistivity for the film is -7x10^-10 Ohm.m/K, which is comparable to the values reported for spin-gapless semiconductors.

The electron-quasiparticle interaction (EQI) spectral function has been measured for $\rm DyNi_2B_2C$ in the normal state at low temperatures by means of point-contact spectroscopy (PCS). A low-frequency peak is found around $eV\sim 5\ meV$. It becomes measurable at $T_m^*\simeq 15\ K$ and grows in intensity with constant width as the temperature is lowered. We argue that this peak arises from the strong interaction of conduction electron with coupled crystal-electric-field-phonon excitations whose branches cross at low energy. The comparison with PC spectra for $\rm HoNi_2B_2C$ suggests that a similar peak also exists for this compound. The magnitude of the point-contact EQI parameter $λ_{PC}$ for $\rm DyNi_2B_2C$ is estimated. $©$2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

The superconducting energy gap in $\rm DyNi_2B_2C$ has been investigated using a point-contact technique based on the Andreev reflection from a normal (N)-superconductor (S) boundary, where N is Ag. The observed differential resistance $dV/dI$ is well described by the Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk (BTK) theory based on the BSC density of states with zero broadening parameter. Typically, the intensity of the gap structure amounts to several percentage of the normal state resistance, which is an order of magnitude less than predicted by the theory. For $\rm DyNi_2B_2C$ with $T_c<T_N$ (the Neel temperature), we found gap values satisfying the ratio of $2Δ_0/k_BT_c=3.63\pm 0.05$ similar to other superconducting nickel-borocarbides, both nonmagnetic and magnetic with $T_c\geq T_N$. The superconducting gap nonlinearity is superimposed on the antiferromagnetic structure in $dV/dI(V)$ which is suppressed at the magnetic field of the order of 3T applied nominally in the $ab$-plane and temperature $\geq 11~K$. The observed superconducting properties depend on the exact composition and structure at the surface of the crystal.

The transfer of spin angular momentum to a nanomagnet from a spin polarized current provides an efficient means of controlling the magnetization direction in nanomagnets. A unique consequence of this spin torque is that the spontaneous oscillations of the magnetization can be induced by applying a combination of a dc bias current and a magnetic field. Here we experimentally demonstrate a different effect, which can drive a nanomagnet into spontaneous oscillations without the need of external spin torque injection. For the demonstration of this effect, we use a nano-pillar of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) powered by a dc current and connected to a coplanar waveguide (CPW) lying above the free layer of the MTJ. Any fluctuation of the free layer magnetization is converted into oscillating voltage via the tunneling magneto-resistance effect and is fed back into the MTJ by the CPW through inductive coupling. As a result of this feedback, the magnetization of the free layer can be driven into a continual precession. The combination of MTJ and CPW behaves similar to a laser system and outputs a stable rf power with quality factor exceeding 10,000.

The thermal conductivity along the c-axis thermal conductivity parallel was found to smaller by a factor of 2 compared to the thermal conductivity along the direction perpendicular to the c-axis over the entire temperature range. In contrast, the Seebeck coefficient along the c-axis parallel was found to be higher than its value along the direction perpendicular to the c-axis. At room temperature, the figure of merit ZT parallel is found to be 4 times larger as compared to the figure of merit ZT perpendicular.

In this paper, we present the observation of the electric field control on the charge-ordering and metamagnetic transitions during the magnetization measurements in a single crystal of Pr0.6Ca0.4MnO3 (PCMO). We have demonstrated that the complete melting of charge ordering can be realized in a single crystal of PCMO by applying a voltage as small as 2.5 V, which otherwise needs magnetic fields in excess of 11 T. The maximum change in magnetization with applied voltage occurs across the charge-ordering transition temperature (TCO = 235 K). Even though the electric field does not seem to affect the magnetic ordering, we see a clear evidence at low temperatures for the occurrence of the metamagnetic transitions at higher fields with the application of electric field.

ZnO thin film of 300 nm was deposited by dielectric sputtering using a ZnO target on Si p-type conducting (.0001-0005 Ω cm) substrate. BDFO thin films of 300 nm were deposited on Si/ZnO using PLD (Pulsed laser deposition) technique. It is observed that BDFO thin films integrated with ZnO film shows the coexistence of ferromagnetic and ferroelectric ordering with significant coupling at room temperature. Integration of BDFO films with ZnO piezoelectric thin film shows the potential in MEMS applications as well as in Memory devices and strong history dependent systems.

We present here some striking discrepancies in the results of ac and dc magnetization measurements performed in a single crystal of low Tc superconductor, Yb3Rh4Sn13. Fingerprint of a transition from an ordered vortex lattice a la Bragg glass (BG) phase to a partially-disordered vortex glass (VG) like phase gets unearthed under the influence of an ac driving force present inevitably in the isothermal ac susceptibility measurements. In contrast to its well-known effect of improving the state of spatial order in the vortex matter, the ac drive is surprisingly found to promote disorder by assisting the BG to VG transition to occur at a lower field value in this compound. On the other hand, the isothermal dc magnetization (M-H) scans, devoid of such a driving force, do not reveal this transition; they instead yield signature of another order-disorder transition at elevated fields, viz., peak effect (PE), located substantially above the BG to VG transition observed in the isothermal ac susceptibility measurements. Further, the evolution of PE feature with increasing field as observed in isofield ac susceptibility plots indicates emergence of an ordered vortex configuration (BG) from a disordered phase above a certain field, H* (~ 4 kOe). Below H*, the vortex matter created via field-cooling (FC) is found to be better spatially ordered than that prepared in zero field-cooled (ZFC) mode. This is contrary to the usual behavior anticipated near the high-field order-disorder transition (PE) wherein a FC state is supposed to be a supercooled disordered phase and the ZFC state is comparatively better ordered.

We present here some newer characteristics pertaining to paramagnetic Meissner effect like response in a single crystal of the low Tc superconducting compound 2H-NbSe2 via a detailed study of effects of perturbation on the field-cooled magnetization response. In the temperature range, where an anomalous paramagnetic magnetization occurs, the field-cooled magnetization response is found to be highly metastable: it displays a curious tendency to switch randomly from a given paramagnetic value to a diamagnetic or to a different paramagnetic value, when the system is perturbed by an impulse of an externally applied ac field. The new facets revealed in a single crystal of 2H-NbSe2 surprisingly bear a marked resemblance with the characteristics of magnetization behaviour anticipated for the giant vortex states with multiple flux quanta predicted to occur in mesoscopic-sized superconducting specimen and possible transitions amongst such states.

Novel features emanating from the MFCC(T) response include an oscillatory magnetization behaviour below Tc and a rich multiplicity (non-uniqueness) in magnetization ranging from diamagnetism to paramagnetism at a given H, T value. The metastability in MFCC(T) has been ascribed to non-unique coexistence of multi-quanta vortex states and single quantum (Abrikosov) vortices. Additionally, the isothermal M(H) scans recorded across a short window of temperature just below Tc show evidence for only the multi-quanta vortex states in the domain of surface superconductivity, with no fingerprint(s) of pinned Abrikosov lattice.

We present distinct demarcation of the Bragg glass (BG) to multi-domain vortex glass (VG) transition line and the eventual amorphization of the VG phase in a weakly pinned single crystal of the superconducting compound Ca3Ir4Sn13 on the basis of comprehension of the different yields about the second magnetization peak (SMP) anomaly in the dc magnetization and the corresponding anomalous feature in the ac susceptibility measurements. The shaking by a small ac magnetic field, inevitably present in the ac susceptibility measurements, is seen to result in contrasting responses in two different portions of the field-temperature (H, T) phase space of the multi-domain VG. In one of the portions, embracing the BG to VG transition across the onset of the SMP anomaly, the ac drive is surprisingly seen to assist the transformation of the well ordered BG phase to a lesser ordered VG phase. The BG phase exists as a superheated state over a small portion of the VG space and this attests to the first order nature of the BG to VG transition.

We report the growth of Nb2Pd0.73S5.7 superconducting single crystal fibers via slow cooling solid state reaction method. Superconducting transition temperature (Tc ~ 6.5K) is confirmed from magnetization and transport measurements. A comparative study is performed for determination of superconducting anisotropy, Γ, via conventional method (by taking ration of two superconducting parameters) and scaling approach method. Scaling approach, defined within the framework of the Ginzburg-Landau theory is applied to the angular dependent resistivity measurements to estimate the anisotropy. The value of Γ close to Tc from scaling approach is found to be ~ 2.5 that is slight higher compare to conventional approach (~2.2). Further, variation of anisotropy with temperature suggests that it is a type of multi-band superconductor.

This in turn can amplify the magnetization fluctuations of the free layer. If the dc current passing through the MTJ is more than a critical value, continuous precessing states of the magnetization are possible.

We observed multiple charge density wave (CDW) transitions in all the measurements. A strong thermal hysteresis at these transitions suggests a possible first order CDW ordering. In addition, the first order nature is ascertained by a very narrow and a huge cusp (62 J/mol K) in the zero field specific heat data which also suggests a strong interchain coupling. By applying a field of 9T in the specific heat measurement, one of the CDW transitions is suppressed.

There is an enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature (T$_{\rm c}$) as compared to the T$_{\rm c}$ of the single crystals of the parent compound Fe$_{1+x}$Se by about 25%. The superconducting parameters such as the critical fields, coherence length, penetration depth and the Ginzburg-Landau parameter have been estimated for these single crystals. Analysis of the critical current data suggests a fluctuation in electronic mean free path induced ($δl$) pinning mechanism in this material. Thermally activated transport across the superconducting transition in the presence of external magnetic fields suggests a crossover from a single vortex pinning regime at low fields to a collective flux creep regime at higher magnetic fields. The nature of charge carriers in the normal state estimated from the Hall effect and thermal transport measurements could provide crucial information on the mechanism of superconductivity in Fe-based materials.

A magnetic transition develops at 24 K for Sm1-xYxMnO3 (x=0.4,0.5) which is not present in the parent compound. This transition coincides with the onset of electric order, with an electric polarization measured along the c axis. It is proposed that the effect of Y do** is to bring about a subtle distortion of the MnO6 octahedra, causing a magnetic ordering of the Mn3+ moments similar to that reported for the well studied multiferroic TbMnO3. Following on from our previous study on polycrystalline samples, we present measurements of the magnetic and electric properties of single crystal Sm0.6Y0.4MnO3 and Sm0.5Y0.5MnO3. The data are summarized in a phase diagram for each of the principal crystallographic axes for the x=0.5 compound. Powder neutron diffraction experiments on SmMnO3 and Sm0.6Y0.4MnO3 show that the Y substitution causes a change in the Mn-O-Mn bond angle towards the value found for TbMnO3. The magnetic structure of Sm0.6Y0.4MnO3 has been shown to consist of two phases: a sinusoidal ordering of the Mn3+ moments below 50 K and a cycloidal ordering below 27 K. The cycloidal ordering occurs at the same temperature as the previously observed ferroelectric polarization, suggesting a similar multiferroic mechanism to that found in TbMnO3.

The possible role of the crystalline anisotropy on vortex pinning is explored via magnetic torque magnetometry. We present evidence in favor of pinning related to spatial variations of the charge carrier mean free path leading to small bundle vortex pinning by randomly distributed (weak) pinning centers for both $H \parallel c$ and $H \perp c$. This is further corroborated using magnetization data for $H \parallel c$ in a single crystal of FeSe$_{0.35}$Te$_{0.65}$. Dynamical response across second magnetization peak (SMP) anomaly in FeSe$_{0.5}$Te$_{0.5}$ has been compared with that across the well researched phenomenon of peak effect (PE) in a single crystal of CeRu$_2$.

We report the observation of positive magnetization on field cooling (PMFC) in low applied magnetic fields (H < 100 Oe) in a single crystal of Ca(3)Rh(4)Sn(13) near its superconducting transition temperature (T(c) approx 8.35 K). For 30 Oe < H < 100 Oe, the PMFC response crosses over to a diamagnetic response as the temperature is lowered below 8 K. For 100 Oe < H < 300 Oe, the diamagnetic response undergoes an unexpected reversal in its field dependence above a characteristic temperature (designated as T*(VL) = 7.9 K), where the field-cooled cool-down magnetization curves intersect. The in-phase and out-of-phase ac susceptibility data confirm the change in the superconducting state across T*(VL). We ascribe the PMFC response to a compression of magnetic flux caused by the nucleation of superconductivity at the surface of the sample. In very low fields (H < 20 Oe), the PMFC response has an interesting oscillatory behaviour which persists up to about 7 K. The oscillatory nature underlines the interplay between competing responses contributing to the magnetization signal in PMFC regime. We believe that the (i) counterintuitive field dependence of the diamagnetic response for H > 100 Oe and above T*(VL) (lasting up to T(c), (ii) the oscillatory character in PMFC response at low fields and (iii) the PMFC peaks near 8.2 K in 30 Oe <= H <= 100 Oe provide support in favour of a theoretical scenario based on the Ginzburg-Landau equations. The scenario predicts the possibility of complex magnetic fluctuations associated with transformation between different metastable giant vortex states prior to transforming into the conventional vortex state as the sample is cooled below T*(VL).

We present magnetic field dependence of the critical current density from dc-magnetization measurements concerning the anisotropic behavior of flux line lattice (FLL) in a single crystal of YNi_2B_2C. The peak effect (PE) phenomenon is observed for all crystallographic orientations, but the second magnetization peak (SMP) anomaly is observed only for H//a. Our study reveals that the FLL obtained when H//[100] is better ordered within the basal plane. However, the FLL for H// c is found to be even more ordered than that for H//[110]. The perfect square symmetry of the FLL for H//c is perhaps responsible for promoting the realization of the best spatial order of the FLL prior to the onset of PE, indicating a correlation between the crystalline lattice and the FLL. We have also found a change over in the power law governing the decay of the critical current density which is identified as a crossover from weak to weaker pinning regime in the phase diagram.

Abstract:
We have explored the vortex phase diagram in a spherical single crystal of niobium (T ~ 9.3 K) via isothermal and temperature dependent dc magnetization and ac-susceptibility measurements. The crystal has extremely weak pinning that can be inferred from the reversibility of loops below T_c. However, one can visualize the peak effect (PE) feature in the isothermal M-H loops up to T = 8 K. The PE…

The PE is also prominent in isothermal ac-susceptibility data for H > 750 Oe. An interesting observation in the present study is the prominent fingerprints of surface superconductivity, starting just above the collapse of pinning at the peak position of the PE and ending at the surface critical field (H_c3). We have also observed the paramagnetic Meissner effect in field-cooled magnetization data recorded at relatively large fields in this crystal. A vortex phase diagram is constructed by marking the peak positions of the PE (H_p), the upper critical field (H_c2) and the surface critical field (H_c3). Unlike a previous report which shows the existence of a multi-critical point in the phase dia-gram of a Nb crystal, where H_p, H_c2 and H_c3 lines meet, we do not observe a multi-critical point in our weak pinning crystal.

For, a well defined peak effect (PE) and second magnetization peak (SMP) can be observed and the loop is open prior to the PE. However, for, the loop is closed and one can observe only the PE. We have investigated the history dependence of magnetization hysteresis data for by recording minor hysteresis loops. The observed history dependence in across different anomalous regions are rationalized on the basis of su-perheating/supercooling of the vortex matter across the first-order-like phase transition and possible additional effects due to annealing of the disordered vortex bundles to the underlying equilibrium state.

Resistivity increases with Eu concentration up to x = 0.16 but decreases for higher Eu concentration (x > 0.16). In the magnetoresistance data, in addition to a peak corresponding to the insulator-metal transition at (TI-M1), a second peak is also observed at a relatively lower temperature, (TI-M2). Both TI-M1 and TI-M2 follow the same trend as TC. The unique variation of TC and magnetoresistance is explained on the basis of structure and disorder correlated to microscopic electronic phase segregation. The studies with the existing studies also point to the universibility of this consideration.

Magnetization measurements as a function of temperature in low magnetic fields show clear evidence for two components of magnetic order (TM1 ~ 32K and TM2 ~ 27K) aligned opposite to each other with respect to the magnetic field direction even though only Ru5+moments can order magnetically in this compound. The second component of the magnetic order at TM2 ~ 27K results only in a magnetization reversal, and not in the negative magnetization when the magnetization is measured in the field cooled (FC) mode. Isothermal magnetization (M-H) measurements show hysteresis with maximum coercivity (Hc) and remnant magnetization (Mr) at T ~ 27 K, corroborating the presence of the two oppositely aligned magnetic moments, each with a ferromagnetic component. The two components of magnetic ordering are further confirmed by the double peak structure in the heat capacity measurements. These anomalous properties have significance to some of the earlier results obtained for the Cu-substituted superconducting Sr2YRu1-xCuxO6 compounds.

Detailed magnetic properties of the compound Sr2YbRuO6 are presented here. The compound belongs to the family of double perovskites forming a monoclinic structure. Magnetization meas-urements reveal clear evidence for two components of magnetic ordering aligned opposite to each other, leading to a magnetization reversal, compensation temperature (T* = 34 K) and neg-ative magnetization at low temperatures and low magnetic fields. Heat capacity measurements corroborate the presence of two components in the magnetic ordering and a noticeable third anomaly at low temperatures (~15 K) which cannot be attributed the Schottky effect. The calcu-lated magnetic entropy is substantially lower than that expected for the ground states of the or-dered moments of Ru5+ and Yb3+, indicating the presence of large crystal field effects and/ or in-complete magnetic ordering and/or magnetic frustrations well above the magnetic ordering. An attempt is made to explain the magnetization reversal within the frameworks of available models.

Antiferromagnetic transitions are inferred at 54 K and 47 K in Ba2SmRuO6 and Ba2DyRuO6, respectively in the magnetization measure-ments. Heat capacity measurements show large jumps at the corresponding temperatures and confirm the bulk magnetic ordering. Both the measurements provide clear indication of the ordering of the rare earth moments also along with the Ruthenium moments. How-ever, the heat capacity results suggest that the ordering of rare earth magnetic moments is spread over a large temperature range and is affected by a large crystal field effect on Ru and rare earth ions. The anomaly observed in the magnetization measurements at 42 K (below the magnetic ordering) in Ba2SmRuO6 is discerned as a reorientation of Sm3+ moments

The measurements were carried out over a temperature range of 2-9K which spans across the ferromagnetic transition temperature. From an analysis of the spectra, we show that (i) the temperature dependence of the extracted value of transport spin polarization closely follows the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization; (ii) the superconducting quasiparticle lifetime shows a large decrease close to the Curie temperature of the ferromagnet. We attribute the latter to the presence of strong ferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the ferromagnet close to the ferromagnetic transition temperature.

The order-disorder transition in this specimen proceeds in a multi-step manner. The phase coexistence regime between the onset temperature of the PE and the spinodal temperature (where metastability effects cease) seems to comprise two parts, where ordered and disordered regions dominate the bulk behavior, respectively. The PE line in the vortex phase diagram is argued to terminate at the low field end at a critical point in the elastic (Bragg) glass phase.
