We have performed time-dependent density functional theory simulations for the neutralization process of a hydrogen ion injected at 100eV onto the (110) surface of tungsten material. We have also proposed a method for evaluating the detection probability of electrons in a small region. This probability is interpreted as that of detecting hydrogen in each state: positive ion, neutral atom, and negative ion. As a result, the probabilities of detecting hydrogen after a collision as a positive ion, neutral atom, and negative ion were approximately 30 percent, 50 percent, and 20 percent, respectively.

The neutralization process of an ion particle on a surface is key issue of the plasma-wall interaction (PWI). We investigated helium (He) ion injection onto a tungsten surface using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) simulation. We developed the TDDFT code QUMASUN for this study, simulating the process of electron transfer from the surface to the He nucleus by solving the time evolution of electron wave function and the classical motion of nuclei simultaneously. Our results show that the probabilities of injected $\text{He}^{2+}$ changing into $\text{He}^{1+}$ and $\text{He}^{0}$ on the surface are approximately 40 percent and 13 percent, respectively. The captured electrons by $\text{He}^{1+}$ and $\text{He}^{0}$ predominantly occupy the 2s and 2p orbitals, corresponding to excited states. In addition, we stated some challenges for applying TDDFT to plasma-wall interactions.

It has recently been argued that the Hubble tension may call for a combination of both pre- and post-recombination new physics. Motivated by these considerations, we provide one of the first concrete case studies aimed at constructing such a viable combination. We consider models that have individually worked best on either end of recombination so far: a spatially uniform time-varying electron mass leading to earlier recombination (also adding non-zero spatial curvature), and a sign-switching cosmological constant inducing an AdS-to-dS transition within the $Λ_{\rm s}$CDM model. When confronted against Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), Baryon Acoustic Oscillations, and Type Ia Supernovae data, we show that no combination of these ingredients can successfully solve the Hubble tension. We find that the matter density parameter $Ω_m$ plays a critical role, driving important physical scales in opposite directions: the AdS-to-dS transition requires a larger $Ω_m$ to maintain the CMB acoustic scale fixed, whereas the varying electron mass requires a smaller $Ω_m$ to maintain the redshift of matter-radiation equality fixed. Despite the overall failure, we use our results to draw general model-building lessons, highlighting the importance of assessing tension-solving directions in the parameter space of new physics parameters and how these correlate with shifts in other standard parameters, while underscoring the crucial role of $Ω_m$ in this sense.

We present constraints on the varying electron mass model and EDE models by including new DESI data as well as cosmic microwave background by Planck and the conventional BAO data from 6dF, MGS, and DR12 and supernovae light curve data into analysis. Since new DESI BAO data indicates slightly longer sound horizon $r_dh$ than the other BAO observations, for the varying electron mass model, the larger $H_0 =69.44\pm 0.84 $ km$/$s$/$Mpc is indicated.

We construct semiorthogonal decompositions of derived categories of coherent sheaves on moduli stacks of semistable objects on K3 surfaces, where each summand is a categorical Hall product of quasi-BPS categories. We also introduce and study a reduced quasi-BPS category. When the weight is coprime to the Mukai vector, the reduced quasi-BPS category is proper, smooth, and its Serre functor is trivial étale locally on the good moduli space. Moreover we prove that its topological K-theory recovers the BPS invariants of K3 surfaces, which are known to be equal to the Euler characteristics of Hilbert schemes of points on K3 surfaces. We regard reduced quasi-BPS categories as noncommutative hyperkähler varieties which are categorical versions of crepant resolutions of singular symplectic moduli spaces of semistable objects on K3 surfaces.

In previous work, we studied quasi-BPS categories (of symmetric quivers with potential, of preprojective algebras, of surfaces) and showed they have properties analogous to those of BPS invariants/ cohomologies. For example, quasi-BPS categories are used to formulate categorical analogues of the PBW theorem for cohomological Hall algebras (of Davison-Meinhardt) and of the Donaldson-Thomas/BPS wall-crossing for framed quivers (of Meinhardt-Reineke).
The purpose of this paper is to make the connections between quasi-BPS categories and BPS cohomologies more precise. We compute the topological K-theory of quasi-BPS categories for a large class of symmetric quivers with potential. In particular, we compute the topological K-theory of quasi-BPS categories for a large class of preprojective algebras, which we use (in a different paper) to compute the topological K-theory of quasi-BPS categories of K3 surfaces. A corollary is that there exist quasi-BPS categories with topological K-theory isomorphic to BPS cohomology.
We also compute the topological K-theory of categories of matrix factorizations for smooth affine quotient stacks in terms of the monodromy invariant vanishing cohomology, prove a Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch theorem for matrix factorizations, and check the compatibility between the Koszul equivalence in K-theory and dimensional reduction in cohomology.

We construct semiorthogonal decompositions of the categories of matrix factorizations for moduli stacks of representations of (framed or unframed) symmetric quivers with potential, where the summands are categorical Hall products of quasi-BPS categories. These results generalize our previous results about the three loop quiver.
We prove several properties of quasi-BPS categories: wall-crossing equivalence, strong generation, and categorical support lemma in the case of tripled quivers with potential. We also introduce reduced quasi-BPS categories for preprojective algebras, which have trivial relative Serre functor and are indecomposable when the weight is coprime with the total dimension. In this case, we regard the reduced quasi-BPS categories as noncommutative local hyperkähler varieties, and as (twisted) categorical versions of crepant resolutions of singularities of good moduli spaces of representations of preprojective algebras.
The studied categories include the local models of quasi-BPS categories of K3 surfaces. In a follow-up paper, we establish analogous properties for quasi-BPS categories of K3 surfaces.

With the increasing importance of data privacy protection, various privacy-preserving machine learning methods have been proposed. In the clustering domain, various algorithms with a federated learning framework (i.e., federated clustering) have been actively studied and showed high clustering performance while preserving data privacy. However, most of the base clusterers (i.e., clustering algorithms) used in existing federated clustering algorithms need to specify the number of clusters in advance. These algorithms, therefore, are unable to deal with data whose distributions are unknown or continually changing. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving continual federated clustering algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, an adaptive resonance theory-based clustering algorithm capable of continual learning is used as a base clusterer. Therefore, the proposed algorithm inherits the ability of continual learning. Experimental results with synthetic and real-world datasets show that the proposed algorithm has superior clustering performance to state-of-the-art federated clustering algorithms while realizing data privacy protection and continual learning ability. We point out that the recent result of primordial helium-4 ($^4$He) abundance measurement by EMPRESS, which has reported a smaller $^4$He abundance than other measurements, can be well fitted by assuming a time-variation of the fine structure constant $α$ which is slightly smaller than the present value during big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN). We find that the EMPRESS result in combination with deuterium abundance measurement indicates $-2.6\% <Δα/α<-1.4 \%$ (68\% C.L.) where $Δα$ is the difference between the values of $α$ at the BBN and present epochs, while $-1.2\% <Δα/α<0.4 \%$ (68\% C.L.) is obtained from other previous $^4$He abundance data. We also investigate its effects in the framework where the effective number of neutrino species and the lepton asymmetry, which are other typical interpretations of the EMPRESS result, are allowed to vary. Once a smaller $α$ is adopted, the EMPRESS result can be explained without assuming any non-standard values for the effective number of neutrino species and lepton asymmetry.

In this paper, we prove several properties of quasi-BPS categories analogous to BPS sheaves in cohomological DT theory.
We first prove a categorical analogue of Davison's support lemma, namely that complexes in the quasi-BPS categories for coprime length and weight are supported over the small diagonal in the symmetric product of the three dimensional affine space. The categorical support lemma is used to determine the torsion-free generator of the torus equivariant K-theory of the quasi-BPS category of coprime length and weight.
We next construct a bialgebra structure on the torsion free equivariant K-theory of quasi-BPS categories for a fixed ratio of length and weight. We define the K-theoretic BPS space as the space of primitive elements with respect to the coproduct. We show that all localized equivariant K-theoretic BPS spaces are one dimensional, which is a K-theoretic analogue of the computation of (numerical) BPS invariants of the three dimensional affine space.

We begin the study of categorifications of Donaldson-Thomas invariants associated with Hilbert schemes of points on the three-dimensional affine space, which we call DT categories. The DT category is defined to be the category of matrix factorizations on the non-commutative Hilbert scheme with a super-potential whose critical locus is the Hilbert scheme of points. The first main result in this paper is the construction of semiorthogonal decompositions of DT categories, which can be regarded as categorical wall-crossing formulae of the framed triple loop quiver. Each summand is given by the categorical Hall product of some subcategories of matrix factorizations, called quasi-BPS categories. They are categories of matrix factorizations on twisted versions of noncommutative resolutions of singularities considered by Špenko-Van den Bergh, and were used by the first author to prove a PBW theorem for K-theoretic Hall algebras. We next construct explicit objects of quasi-BPS categories via Koszul duality equivalences, and show that they form a basis in the torus localized K-theory. These computations may be regarded as a numerical K-theoretic analogue in dimension three of the McKay correspondence for Hilbert schemes of points. In particular, the torus localized K-theory of DT categories has a basis whose cardinality is the number of plane partitions, giving a K-theoretic analogue of MacMahon's formula.

A cosmological model with a time-varying mass of electrons seems a promising solution for the so-called Hubble tension. We examine the big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) constraints on the time-varying electron mass model, because a larger electron mass gives rise to the smaller neutron decay rate which could affect the light element abundance. Additionally, different inferred cosmological parameters, primarily baryon asymmetry, to keep the cosmic background power spectrum unchanged could affect the abundance of light element. We find that the predicted helium fraction becomes larger and the deuterium abundance becomes smaller as the electron mass at the BBN time becomes larger. Thus, we conclude that an acceptable electron mass at the BBN time would be only approximately 1% greater than the current electron mass.

The invariants are analogous to the BPS counts of Gopakumar and Vafa for Calabi-Yau 3-folds, Klemm and Pandharipande for Calabi-Yau 4-folds, Pandharipande and Zinger for Calabi-Yau 5-folds.
We conjecture that our invariants are integers and give a sheaf-theoretic interpretation in terms of reduced $4$-dimensional Donaldson-Thomas invariants of one-dimensional stable sheaves. We check our conjectures for the product of two $K3$ surfaces and for the cotangent bundle of $\mathbb{P}^2$. Modulo the conjectural holomorphic anomaly equation, we compute our invariants also for the Hilbert scheme of two points on a $K3$ surface. This yields a conjectural formula for the number of isolated genus $2$ curves of minimal degree on a very general hyperkähler $4$-fold of $K3^{[2]}$-type. The formula may be viewed as a $4$-dimensional analogue of the classical Yau-Zaslow formula concerning counts of rational curves on $K3$ surfaces.
In the course of our computations, we also derive a new closed formula for the Fujiki constants of the Chern classes of tangent bundles of both Hilbert schemes of points on $K3$ surfaces and generalized Kummer varieties.

We show the existence of semiorthogonal decompositions of Donaldson-Thomas categories for $(-1)$-shifted cotangent derived stacks associated with $Θ$-stratifications on them. Our main result gives an analogue of window theorem for categorical DT theory, which has applications to d-critical analogue of D/K equivalence conjecture, i.e. existence of fully-faithful functors (equivalences) under d-critical flips (flops). As an example of applications, we show the existence of fully-faithful functors of DT categories for Pandharipande-Thomas stable pair moduli spaces under wall-crossing at super-rigid rational curves for any relative reduced curve classes.

We introduce extra radiation components such as hot axions or sterile neutrinos in addition to the energy density of neutrinos with large neutrino degeneracy. Then, a larger $N_\mathrm{eff}$ is allowed without spoiling Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN), as positive neutrino degeneracy $ξ_e$ could improve BBN fit. By analysing the data from Planck, baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), BBN and type-Ia supernovae (SNeIa), it can be seen that the Hubble tension can be ameliorated for $ξ_{e}\simeq 0.04$ and $0.3 \lesssim ΔN_\mathrm{eff} \lesssim 0.6$.

The shorten sound horizon scale at the recombination epoch by introducing extra energy components such as the extra radiation or early dark energy (EDE) is a simple approach to so-called the Hubble tension. We compare EDE models, an extra radiation model and an EDE and extra radiation co-existing model with paying attention to the fit to big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN). We find that a fit to BBN in EDE models also is somewhat poorer than that in the $Λ$CDM model, because the increased inferred baryon asymmetry leads to smaller deuterium abundance. We find that an extra radiation-EDE co-existing model indicates the largest present Hubble parameter $H_0$ between models studied. We also the examine data sets dependence, whether we include BBN or not. The difference in an extra radiation model is $3.22 < N_\mathrm{eff} < 3.49 \,(68 \%)$ for data sets without BBN and $3.16 < N_\mathrm{eff} < 3.40 \,(68 \%)$ for data sets with BBN, and is so large that the $1σ$ border of the larger side becomes the $2σ$ border.

In this paper, we propose a sheaf theoretical interpretation of the genus one GV type invariants using descendent insertions on the above moduli spaces. The conjectural formula in particular implies nontrivial constraints on genus zero GV type (equivalently GW) invariants of CY 4-folds which can be proved by the WDVV equation.

We develope $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant categorical Donaldson-Thomas theory for local surfaces, i.e. the total spaces of canonical line bundles on smooth projective surfaces. We introduce $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant DT categories for local surfaces as Verdier quotients of derived categories of coherent sheaves on derived moduli stacks of coherent sheaves on surfaces, by subcategories of objects whose singular supports are contained in unstable loci. Via Koszul duality, our construction may be regarded as certain gluing of $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant derived categories of factorizations.
We also develope $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant DT theory for stable D0-D2-D6 bound states on local surfaces, including categorical Pandharipande-Thomas theory. The key result toward the construction is the description of the stack of D0-D2-D6 bound states on the local surface as the dual obstruction cone over the moduli stack of pairs on the surface. We propose several conjectures on wall-crossing of PT categories, motivated by categorifications of wall-crossing formula of PT invariants and d-critical analogue of D/K equivalence conjecture in birational geometry.
We establish three ways toward the categorical wall-crossing conjecture: semiorthogonal decomposition via linear Koszul duality, window theorem for DT categories, and categorified Hall products. These techniques indicate several implications, e.g. rationality of generating series of PT categories, wall-crossing equivalence of DT categories for one dimensional stable sheaves, and categorical MNOP/PT correspondence for reduced curve classes.

With the STM mesurements, we revealed that the CDW intensities along each triple-$q$ directions are different. Thus the rotational symmetry of $1T$-VSe$_2$ is lower than that in typical two-dimentional triple-$q$ CDWs. We found that the CDW peaks form a kagome lattice rather than a triangular lattice. The Friedel oscillations have the chirality and the periodicity reflected properties of the background CDW. With the optical measurements in $1T$-VSe$_2$, we also observed a lower rotational symmetry with the polarization dependence of the transient reflectivity variation, which is consistent with the STM result on a microscopic scale. Both $1T$-TiSe$_2$ and $1T$-VSe$_2$ show chiral CDWs, which implies that such waves are usual for CDWs with the condition $H_\mathrm{CDW} \equiv q_{1}\cdot(q_{2} \times q_{3}) \neq0$.

We study the reduced Donaldson-Thomas theory of abelian threefolds using Bridgeland stability conditions. The main result is the invariance of the reduced Donaldson-Thomas invariants under all derived autoequivalences, up to explicitly given wall-crossing terms. We also present a numerical criterion for the absence of walls in terms of a discriminant function. For principally polarized abelian threefolds of Picard rank one, the wall-crossing contributions are discussed in detail. The discussion yield evidence for a conjectural formula for curve counting invariants by Bryan, Pandharipande, Yin, and the first author.
For the proof we strengthen several known results on Bridgeland stability conditions of abelian threefolds. We show that certain previously constructed stability conditions satisfy the full support property. In particular, the stability manifold is non-empty. We also prove the existence of a Gieseker chamber and determine all wall-crossing contributions. A definition of reduced generalized Donaldson-Thomas invariants for arbitrary Calabi-Yau threefolds with abelian actions is given.

The PB phase (PBP) of VVSs can be divided into two phases: homogeneous and inhomogeneous PBPs. Homogeneous and inhomogeneous PBPs are related to the conventional PBP and the spatially-dependent geometric phase given by an IA medium such as a polarization converter, respectively. We theoretically detected that inhomogeneous PBP accumulation originates from the gauge dependence of the index of the hybrid-order Poincaré sphere, which provides an alternate method for understanding optical spin--orbital angular momentum conversion. The homogeneous PBP, which is explicitly observed for the first time, has implications for quantum state manipulation and information processing.

In a recent letter, Milione et al. reported the Pancharatnam-Berry phase (PBP) on a higher-order Poincaré sphere (HOPS) [Phys. Rev. Lett, 108, 190401 (2012)]. They used two spin-orbit converters (SOCs) to make a trajectory along the HOPS. However, the SOCs actually do not make a path on the HOPS. We briefly discuss a way of acquiring a PBP made by SOCs.

Hall algebras in the derived category and higher rank DT invariants
Authors:
Yukinobu Toda
Abstract:
We remark that the combination of the works of Ben-Bassat-Brav-Bussi-Joyce and Alper-Hall-Rydh imply the conjectured local description of the moduli stacks of semi-Schur objects in the derived category of coherent sheaves on projective Calabi-Yau 3-folds. This result was assumed in the author's previous papers to apply wall-crossing formulas of DT type invariants in the derived category, e.g. DT/P…

This result was assumed in the author's previous papers to apply wall-crossing formulas of DT type invariants in the derived category, e.g. DT/PT correspondence, rationality, etc. We also show that the above result is applied to prove the higher rank version of DT/PT correspondence and rationality.

Abstract:
In [7], Donovan and Wemyss introduced the contraction algebra of flop- ** curves in 3-folds. When the flop** curve is smooth and irreducible, we prove that the contraction algebra together with its A_\infty-structure recovers various invariants associated to the underlying singularity and its small resolution, including the derived category of singularities and the genus zero Gopakuma-Vafa inv…

Non-commutative virtual structure sheaves

Abstract:
The moduli spaces of stable sheaves on projective schemes admit certain gluing data of Kapranov's NC structures, which we call quasi NC structures. The formal completion of the quasi NC structure at a closed point coincides with the pro-representable hull of the non-commutative deformation functor of the corresponding sheaf. In this paper, we show the existence of smooth non-commutative dg-resolutions of the above quasi NC structures, and call them quasi NCDG structures. When there are no higher obstruction spaces, the quasi NCDG structures define the notion of NC virtual structure sheaves, the non-commutative analogue of virtual structure sheaves. We show that the NC virtual structure sheaves are described in terms of usual virtual structure sheaves together with Schur complexes of the perfect obstruction theories.

The completion of our quasi NC structure at a closed point of the moduli space gives a pro-representable hull of the non-commutative deformation functor of the corresponding sheaf developed by Laudal, Eriksen, Segal and Efimov-Lunts-Orlov. We also show that the framed stable moduli spaces of sheaves have canonical NC structures.
