Abstract:
We introduce RakutenAI-7B, a suite of Japanese-oriented large language models that achieve the best performance on the Japanese LM Harness benchmarks among the open 7B models. Along with the foundation model, we release instruction- and chat-tuned models, RakutenAI-7B-instruct and RakutenAI-7B-chat respectively, under the Apache 2.0 license.

Abstract:
We show that all countable subsets of any pseudocompact quasitopological group in the form of a Korovin orbit are closed, discrete, and $C^\ast$-embedded. Consequently, any infinite pseudocompact Korovin orbit is not homeomorphic to a topological group. Moreover, infinite pseudocompact Korovin orbits are not homeomorphic to any Mal'tsev space.

Dynamical properties of uniform electron fluids (jellium model) are studied within a novel non-perturbative approach consisting in the combination of the self-consistent version of the method of moments (SCMM) involving up to nine sum rules and other exact relations, the two-parameter Shannon information entropy maximization procedure, and the ab initio path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) simulations of the imaginary-time intermediate scattering function.
The explicit dependence of the electronic dynamic structure factor (DSF) on temperature and density is studied in a broad realm of variation of the dimensionless parameters ($2\leq r_s\leq 36$ and $1\leq θ\leq 8$). When the coupling is strong ($r_s\geq 16$) we clearly observe a bi-modal structure of the excitation spectrum with a lower-energy mode possessing a well pronounced roton-like feature ($θ\leq 2$) and an additional high-energy branch within the roton region which evolves into the strongly overdamped high-frequency shoulder when the coupling decreases ($r_s\leq 10$). We are not aware of any reconstruction of the DSF at these conditions with the effects of dynamical correlations, included here via the intermediate scattering and the dynamical Nevanlinna parameter functions. The standard static-local-field approach fails to reproduce this effect. The reliability of our method is confirmed by a detailed comparison with the recent ab initio dynamic-local-field approach by Dornheim et al. [Phys.Rev.Lett. 121, 255001 (2018)] available for high/moderate densities ($r_s\leq 10$). Moreover, within the SCMM we are able to construct the modes dispersion equation in a closed analytical form and find the decrements (lifetimes) of the quasiparticle excitations explicitly. The physical nature of the revealed modes is discussed. Mathematical details of the method are complemented in the Supplementary Material.

The dynamic structure factor and the eigenmodes of density fluctuations in the uniform liquid $^3$He are studied using a novel non-perturbative approach. This new version of the self-consistent method of moments invokes up to nine sum rules and other exact relations involving the spectral density, the two-parameter Shannon information entropy maximization procedure, and the ab initio path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) simulations which provide crucial reliable input information on the system static properties. Detailed analysis of the dispersion relations of collective excitations, the modes decrements and the static structure factor (SSF) of $^3$He at the saturated vapor pressure is performed. The results are compared to available experimental data~[1,2]. The theory reveals a clear signature of the roton-like feature in the particle-hole segment of the excitation spectrum with a significant reduction of the roton decrement in the wavenumber range $1.3 A^{-1} \leq q\leq 2.2 A^{-1}$. The observed roton mode remains a well defined collective excitation even in the particle-hole band, where, however, it is strongly damped. Hence, the existence of the roton-like mode in the bulk liquid $^3$He is confirmed like in other strongly interacting quantum fluids~[3]. The phonon branch of the spectrum is also studied with a reasonable agreement with the same experimental data being achieved. The presented combined approach permits to produce ab initio data on the system dynamic characteristics in a wide range of physical parameters and for other physical systems.

The self-consistent relaxation theory is employed to describe the collective ion dynamics in strongly coupled Yukawa classical one-component plasmas. The theory is applied to equilibrium states corresponding to intermediate screening regimes with appropriate values of the structure and coupling parameters. The information about the structure (the radial distribution function and the static structure factor) and the thermodynamics of the system is sufficient to describe collective dynamics over a wide range of spatial ranges, namely, from the extended hydrodynamic to the microscopic dynamics scale. The main experimentally measurable characteristics of the equilibrium collective dynamics of ions -- the spectrum of the dynamic structure factor, the dispersion parameters, the speed of sound and the sound attenuation -- are determined within the framework of the theory without using any adjustable parameters. The results demonstrate agreement with molecular dynamics simulations. Thus a direct realization is presented of the key idea of statistical mechanics: for the theoretical description of the collective particle dynamics of equilibrium fluids it is sufficient to know the interparticle interaction potential and the structural characteristics. Comparison with alternative or complementary theoretical approaches is provided.

For special classes $\mathcal C$, we present some necessary and sufficient conditions on $G$ in order that the (semi)completions $\mathcal C[G)$ and $\mathcal C[G]$ be Hausdorff. Also, we give an example of a Hausdorff paratopological abelian group $G$ whose $\mathcal C$-semicompletion $\mathcal C[G)$ fails to be a $T_1$-space, where $\mathcal C$ is the class of continuous homomorphisms of sequentially compact topological groups to paratopological groups. In particular, the group $G$ contains an $ω$-bounded sequentially compact subgroup $H$ such that $H$ is a topological group but its closure in $G$ fails to be a subgroup.

Let us call a (para)topological group \emph{strongly submetrizable} if it admits a coarser separable metrizable (para)topological group topology. We present a characterization of simply $sm$-factorizable (para)topo\-logical groups by means of continuous real-valued functions. We show that a (para)topo\-logical group $G$ is a simply $sm$-factorizable if and only if for each continuous function $f\colon G\to \mathbb{R}$, one can find a continuous homomorphism $\varphi$ of $G$ onto a strongly submetrizable (para)topological group $H$ and a continuous function $g\colon H\to \mathbb{R}$ such that $f=g\circ\varphi$. This characterization is applied for the study of completions of simply $sm$-factorizable topological groups. We prove that the equalities $μ{G}=\varrho_ω{G}=\upsilon{G}$ hold for each Hausdorff simply $sm$-factorizable topological group $G$. This result gives a positive answer to a question posed by Arhangel'skii and Tkachenko in 2018. Also, we consider realcompactifications of simply $sm$-factorizable paratopological groups. It is proved, among other results, that the realcompactification, $\upsilon{G}$, and the Dieudonné completion, $μ{G}$, of a regular simply $sm$-factorizable paratopological group $G$ coincide and that $\upsilon{G}$ admits the natural structure of paratopological group containing $G$ as a dense subgroup and, furthermore, $\upsilon{G}$ is also simply $sm$-factorizable. Some results in [\emph{Completions of paratopological groups, Monatsh. Math. \textbf{183} (2017), 699--721}] are improved or generalized.

We provide some characterizations of precompact abelian groups $G$ whose dual group $G_p^\wedge$ endowed with the pointwise convergence topology on elements of $G$ contains a nontrivial convergent sequence. In the special case of precompact abelian \emph{torsion} groups $G$, we characterize the existence of a nontrivial convergent sequence in $G_p^\wedge$ by the following property of $G$: \emph{No infinite quotient group of $G$ is countable.} Finally, we present an example of a dense subgroup $G$ of the compact metrizable group $\mathbb{Z}(2)^ω$ such that $G$ is of the first category in itself, has measure zero, but the dual group $G_p^\wedge$ does not contain infinite compact subsets. This complements Theorem 1.6 in [J.E.~Hart and K.~Kunen, Limits in function spaces and compact groups, \textit{Topol. Appl.} \textbf{151} (2005), 157--168]. As a consequence, we obtain an example of a precompact reflexive abelian group which is of the first Baire category.

In the context of museums, the question is: how can rich learning experiences be provided for increasingly technologically advanced young visitors in museums? Which high-tech platforms and solutions do museums need to focus on? At the same time, the software games business is growing fast and now finding its way into non-entertainment contexts, hel** to deliver substantial benefits, particularly in education, training, research, and health. This article outlines some aspects facing Digitally Native learners in museums through an analysis of several radically new key technologies: Interactivity, Wearables, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. Special attention is paid to use cases for application of games-based scenarios via these technologies in non-leisure contexts and specifically for educational purposes in museums.

The famous Banach-Mazur problem, which asks if every infinite-dimensional Banach space has an infinite-dimensional separable quotient Banach space, has remained unsolved for 85 years, though it has been answered in the affirmative for reflexive Banach spaces and even Banach spaces which are duals. The analogous problem for locally convex spaces has been answered in the negative, but has been shown to be true for large classes of locally convex spaces including all non-normable Fréchet spaces. In this paper the analogous problem for topological groups is investigated. Indeed there are four natural analogues: Does every non-totally disconnected topological group have a separable quotient group which is (i) non-trivial; (ii) infinite; (iii) metrizable; (iv) infinite metrizable. All four questions are answered here in the negative. However, positive answers are proved for important classes of topological groups including (a) all compact groups; (b) all locally compact abelian groups; (c) all $σ$-compact locally compact groups; (d) all abelian pro-Lie groups; (e) all $σ$-compact pro-Lie groups; (f) all pseudocompact groups. Negative answers are proved for precompact groups.

The types of instability in the interacting binary stars are reviewed. The project "Inter-Longitude Astronomy" is a series of smaller projects on concrete stars or groups of stars. It has no special funds, and is supported from resources and grants of participating organizations, when informal working groups are created. Totally we studied 1900+ variable stars of different types. The characteristic timescale is from seconds to decades and (extrapolating) even more. The monitoring of the first star of our sample AM Her was initiated by Prof. V.P. Tsesevich (1907-1983). Since more than 358 ADS papers were published. Some highlights of our photometric and photo-polarimetric monitoring and mathematical modelling of interacting binary stars of different types are presented: classical, asynchronous, intermediate polars and magnetic dwarf novae (DO Dra) with 25 timescales corresponding to different physical mechanisms and their combinations (part "Polar"); negative and positive superhumpers in nova-like and many dwarf novae stars ("Superhumper"); eclipsing "non-magnetic" cataclysmic variables; symbiotic systems ("Symbiosis"); super-soft sources (SSS, QR And); spotted (and not spotted) eclipsing variables with (and without) evidence for a current mass transfer ("Eclipser") with a special emphasis on systems with a direct impact of the stream into the gainer star's atmosphere, or V361 Lyr-type stars. Other parts of the ILA project are "Stellar Bell" (interesting pulsating variables of different types and periods - M, SR, RV Tau, RR Lyr, Delta Sct) and "Novice"(="New Variable") discoveries and classification with a subsequent monitoring for searching and studying possible multiple components of variability. Special mathematical methods have been developed to create a set of complementary software for statistically optimal modelling of variable stars of different types.

The half-duration of the eclipse is 0.0617(7), 0.1092(18) and 0.1015(7) for Algol, $β$ Lyrae and W UMa, respectively. The brightness ratio is 6.8$\pm$1.0, 4.9$\pm$1.0 and 1.15$\pm$0.13. For an analysis, the light curve of the star V0882 Car = 2MASS J11080308 - 6145589 of the classic Algol - subtype (βPersei) is used. By analyzing dozens of modified functions with additional parameters, it was chosen the 14 best ones according to the criterion of the least sum of squares of deviations. The best are the functions with an additional parameter, describing profiles, which are limited in phase.

Early this century K. H. Hofmann and S. A. Morris introduced the class of pro-Lie groups which consists of projective limits of finite-dimensional Lie groups and proved that it contains all compact groups, all locally compact abelian groups, and all connected locally compact groups and is closed under the formation of products and closed subgroups. They defined a topological group $G$ to be almost connected if the quotient group of $G$ by the connected component of its identity is compact.
We show here that all almost connected pro-Lie groups as well as their continuous homomorphic images are $R$-factorizable and \textit{$ω$-cellular}, i.e.~every family of $G_δ$-sets contains a countable subfamily whose union is dense in the union of the whole family. We also prove a general result which implies as a special case that if a topological group $G$ contains a compact invariant subgroup $K$ such that the quotient group $G/K$ is an almost connected pro-Lie group, then $G$ is $R$-factorizable and $ω$-cellular.
Applying the aforementioned result we show that the sequential closure and the closure of an arbitrary $G_{δ,Σ}$-set in an almost connected pro-Lie group $H$ coincide.

We review the method NAV (New Algol Variable) first introduced in 2012Ap.....55..536A, which uses the locally-dependent shapes of eclipses in an addition to the trigonometric polynomial of the second order (which typically describes the "out-of-eclipse" part of the light curve with effects of reflection, ellipticity and O'Connell). Eclipsing binary stars are believed to show distinct eclipses only if belonging to the EA type. With a decreasing eclipse width, the statistically optimal value of the trigonometric polynomial s (2003ASPC..292..391A) drastically increases from ~2 for elliptic (EL) variables without eclipses, ~6-8 for EW and up to ~30-50 for some EA with narrow eclipses. In this case of large number of parameters, the smoothing curve becomes very noisy and apparent waves (the Gibbs phenomenon) may be seen. The NAV set of the parameters may be used for classification in the GCVS, VSX and similar catalogs. The maximal number of parameters is m=12, which corresponds to s=5, if correcting both the period and the initial epoch. We have applied the method to few stars, also in a case of multi-color photometry (2015JASS...32..127A), when it is possible to use the phenomenological parameters from the NAV fit to estimate physical parameters using statistical dependencies. We conclude that the NAV approximation is better than the TP one even for the case of EW-type stars with much wider eclipses. It may also be used to determine timings (see 2005ASPC..335...37A for a review of methods) or to determine parameters in the case of variable period, using a complete light curve modeling the phase variations. The method is illustrated on 2MASS J11080447-6143290 (EA-type), USNO-B1.0 1265-0306001 and USNO-B1.0 1266-0313413 (EW-type) and compared to various other methods from the literature.

The variability was reported in 2012OAP....25..150A, and the object was monitored. The two-color observations covered all phase interval. The object is classified as an Algol-type variable with tidally distorted components, and shows an asymmetry of the maxima (the OĆonnell effect). For phenomenological modeling, we used the trigonometric polynomial approximation of statistically optimal degree, and a recent method "NAV" (New Algol Variable) using local specific shapes for the eclipse. Methodological aspects are described, especially for the case of few color observations. Estimates of the physical parameters based on analysis of phenomenological parameters, are presented.

Phenomenological characteristics of the sample of the Algol-type stars are revised using a recently developed NAV ("New Algol Variable") algorithm (2012Ap.....55..536A, 2012arXiv 1212.6707A) and compared to that obtained using common methods of Trigonometric Polynomial Fit (TP) or local Algebraic Polynomial (A) fit of a fixed or (alternately) statistically optimal degree (1994OAP.....7...49A, 2003ASPC..292..391A). The computer program NAV is introduced, which allows to determine the best fit with 7 "linear" and 5 "non-linear" parameters and their error estimates. The number of parameters is much smaller than for the TP fit (typically 20-40, depending on the width of the eclipse, and is much smaller (5-20) for the W UMa and beta Lyrae - type stars. This causes more smooth approximation taking into account the reflection and ellipsoidal effects (TP2) and generally different shapes of the primary and secondary eclipses. An application of the method to two-color CCD photometry to the recently discovered eclipsing variable 2MASS J18024395 + 4003309 = VSX J180243.9 +400331 (2015JASS...32..101A) allowed to make estimates of the physical parameters of the binary system based on the phenomenological parameters of the light curve. The phenomenological parameters of the light curves were determined for the sample of newly discovered EA and EW - type stars (VSX J223429.3+552903, VSX J223421.4+553013, VSX J223416.2+553424, US-NO-B1.0 1347-0483658, UCAC3-191-085589, VSX J180755.6+074711= UCAC3 196-166827). Despite we have used original observations published by the discoverers, the accuracy estimates of the period using the NAV method are typically better than the original ones.

Phenomenological modeling of variable stars allows determination of a set of the parameters, which are needed for classification in the "General Catalogue of Variable Stars" and similar catalogs. We apply a recent method NAV ("New Algol Variable") to eclipsing binary stars of different types. Although all periodic functions may be represented as Fourier series with an infinite number of coefficients, this is impossible for a finite number of the observations. Thus one may use a restricted Fourier series, i.e. a trigonometric polynomial (TP) of order s either for fitting the light curve, or to make a periodogram analysis. However, the number of parameters needed drastically increases with decreasing width of minimum. In the NAV algorithm, the special shape of minimum is used, so the number of parameters is limited to 10 (if the period and initial epoch are fixed) or 12 (not fixed). We illustrate the NAV method by application to a recently discovered Algol-type eclipsing variable 2MASS J11080308-6145589 (in the field of previously known variable star RS Car) and compare results to that obtained using the TP fits. For this system, the statistically optimal number of parameters is 44, but the fit is still worse than that of the NAV fit. Application to the system GSC 3692-00624 argues that the NAV fit is better than the TP one even for the case of EW-type stars with much wider eclipses. Model parameters are listed.

The weight and Lindelöf property in spaces and topological groups

Better upper bounds for the weight of topological groups are given. For example, if a topological group $H$ contains a dense subgroup $G$ such that $G$ is a Lindelöf $Σ$-space, then $w(H)=w(G)\leq ψ(G)^ω$. Further, if a Lindelöf $Σ$-space $X$ generates a dense subgroup of a topological group $H$, then $w(H)\leq 2^{ψ(X)}$.
Several facts about subspaces of Hausdorff separable spaces are established. It is well known that the weight of a separable Hausdorff space $X$ can be as big as $2^{2^{\mathfrak c}}$, where ${\mathfrak c}=2^ω$. We prove on the one hand that if a regular Lindelöf $Σ$-space $Y$ is a subspace of a separable Hausdorff space, then $w(Y)\leq \mathfrak c$, and the same conclusion holds for a Lindelöf $P$-space $Y$. On the other hand, we present an example of a countably compact topological group $G$ which is homeomorphic to a subspace of a separable Hausdorff space and satisfies $w(G)=2^{2^{\mathfrak c}}$, i.e. has the maximal possible weight.

A subspace Y of a separable metrizable space X is separable, but without X metrizable this is not true even If Y is a closed linear subspace of a topological vector space X. K.H. Hofmann and S.A. Morris introduced the class of pro-Lie groups which consists of projective limits of finite-dimensional Lie groups and proved that it contains all compact groups, locally compact abelian groups and connected locally compact groups and is closed under products and closed subgroups. A topological group G is almost connected if the quotient group of G by the connected component of its identity is compact. We prove that an almost connected pro-Lie group is separable iff its weight is not greater than c. It is deduced that an almost connected pro-Lie group is separable if and only if it is a subspace of a separable Hausdorff space. It is proved that a locally compact (even feathered) topological group G which is a subgroup of a separable Hausdorff topological group is separable, but the conclusion is false if it is assumed only that G is homeomorphic to a subspace of a separable Tychonoff space. Every precompact topological group of weight less than or equal to c is topologically isomorphic to a closed subgroup of a separable pseudocompact group of weight c. This implies that there is a wealth of closed nonseparable subgroups of separable pseudocompact groups. An example is presented under CH of a separable countably compact abelian group which contains a non-separable closed subgroup. It is proved that the following conditions are equivalent for an omega-narrow topological group G: (i) G is a subspace of a separable regular space; (ii) G is a subgroup of a separable topological group; (iii) G is a closed subgroup of a separable pathconnected locally pathconnected group.

There are few realizations of the "physical" Wilson-Devinney (1971) code and its improvements, e.g. Binary Maker, Phoebe. A parameter search using the Monte-Carlo method was realized by Zola et al. (2010), which is efficient in expense of too many evaluations of the test function. We compare existing algorithms of minimization of multi-parametric functions and propose to use a "combined" algorithm, depending on if the Hessian matrix is positively determined. To study methods, a simply fast-computed function resembling the "complete" test function for the physical model. Also we adopt a simplified model of an eclipsing binary at a circular orbit assuming spherical components with an uniform brightness distribution. This model resembles more advanced models in a sense of correlated parameter estimates due to a similar topology of the test function. Such a model may be applied to detached Algol-type systems, where the tidal distortion of components is negligible.

The convergent power moments of the imaginary part of the model system dielectric function are expressed in terms of its partial static structure factors, which are computed by the method of hypernetted chains using the Deutsch effective potential. High-frequency asymptotic behavior of the dielectric function is specified to include the effects of inverse bremsstrahlung. The agreement with the MD data is improved, and important statistical characteristics of the model TCP, such as the probability to find both electron and ion at one point, are determined.

Abstract:
The in-plane polarizational stop** power of heavy-ion diclusters in a two-dimensional strongly coupled electron liquid is studied. Analytical expressions for the stop** power of both fast and slow projectiles are derived. To go beyond the random-phase approximation we make use of the inverse dielectric function obtained by means of the method of moments and some recent analytical expressions…

We study the high-velocity-projectile limit of the polarizational contribution to the in-plane stop** power in a strongly coupled two-dimensional electron liquid. The dielectric formalism based on the method of moments is employed. The frequency moments of the loss function are calculated using the model Hamiltonian including the two-dimensional Coulomb interaction potential proportional to the inverse power of k. We prove that the leading term of the high-velocity asymptote, like in the random-phase approximation, is not affected by correlations.

Abstract:
The problem of calculation of the reflectivity of non-ideal shock-compressed plasmas is revisited. The dielectric formalism based on the method of moments incorporating exact asymptotic forms and sum rules is applied to the new experimental data. The approach is based on the Ansatz of reflection of laser radiation from a thin shock-front and possesses one adjustable parameter which depends only…

The problem of calculation of the reflectivity of non-ideal shock-compressed plasmas is revisited. The dielectric formalism based on the method of moments incorporating exact asymptotic forms and sum rules is applied to the new experimental data. The approach is based on the Ansatz of reflection of laser radiation from a thin shock-front and possesses one adjustable parameter which depends only on the thermodynamic conditions of the experiment. A self-consistent agreement with all available experimental data is achieved.

Abstract:
Asymptotic forms of the Hilbert-Scmidt and Hilbert norms of positive definite Toeplitz matrices $Q_{N}=(b(j-k))_{j,k=0}^{N-1}$ as $N\to \infty $ are determined. Here $b(j)$ are consequent trigonometric moments of a generating non-negative mesure $dσ(θ)$ on $[ -π,π] $. It is proven that $σ(θ)$ is continuous if and only if any of those contributions is $o(N)$. Analogous criteria are given for posi…

Here $b(j)$ are consequent trigonometric moments of a generating non-negative mesure $dσ(θ)$ on $[ -π,π] $. It is proven that $σ(θ)$ is continuous if and only if any of those contributions is $o(N)$. Analogous criteria are given for positive integral operators with difference kernels.
Obtained results are applied to processing of stationary random signals, in particular, neutron signals emitted by boiling water nuclear reactors.
