We explore the ground state energies of the neutral and charged vector $K^{*}$ mesons in the external abelian magnetic field of QCD scale using overlap fermions. We attempt to calculate the magnetic moment and the magnetic dipole polarizability of the $K^{*0}$ and $\bar{K}^{*0}$ mesons and investigate their dependence on the ratio of the strange quark mass to the light quark mass. It is found that the ground state energy and the magnetic dipole polarizability depends on the meson spin projection on the magnetic field axis. This leads to the appearance of dileptonic asymmetry, which can be characterized by the tensor polarizability estimated for the $K^{*0}$ mesons. We obtain that the $g$-factor of the vector $K^{*\pm}$ mesons depends on the $m_s/m_u$ value. Also we do not observe any evidence of the tachyon mode existence for the strange vector mesons.

The gravitational quark and gluon form factors of nucleons are calculated. It is shown that the gluon gravitational radius of the nucleon is comparable to the electromagnetic radius of the proton. The power dependence of form factors is investigated. As a result, it was obtained that the quark gravitational form factor is reproduced by the dipole form, while the form of the gluon gravitation form factor corresponds to the triple form.

In recent years, the theory of quantum phase transitions has rapidly developed. These are transitions at a zero temperature which are associated with a change of the theory parameters like couplings. In contrast, the classical phase transitions occur ``within'' the same theory (in particular, with the same couplings) and are associated with a change in temperature. Within the framework of a simple model of Dirac fields in the Euclidean Rindler space, we establish an intermediate case when the phase transition occurs at a finite temperature, but the temperature itself is of a quantum origin (the Unruh temperature). Moreover, the phase transition point is uniquely associated with the behavior of individual levels, namely at the Unruh temperature the two lowest Matsubara modes become singular on the Rindler horizon. This provides a new manifestation of the duality between the thermodynamic description and the geometric approach (the behavior of the quantum levels of particles living on a nontrivial geometric manifold). Although the considered example refers to the physics of black holes, we note the formal similarity of the Unruh temperature with the parameter characterizing quantum transitions in the theory of condensed matter.

In a fluid with vorticity and acceleration, an axial current arises in the third order of gradient expansion, called the kinematical vortical effect (KVE). While existing in the absence of gravitational fields, it is nevertheless associated with effects in curved space-time, namely with the gravitational chiral quantum anomaly. In this paper, the KVE transport coefficients were found using the Zubarev quantum-statistical density operator for the Rarita-Schwinger-Adler theory, which includes fields with spins 3/2 and 1/2. A prediction is made about the possible form of the transport coefficients for massless fields with arbitrary spin.

A search for the $P$- and $CP(T)$-violating electric dipole moments (EDM) of atoms, particles and nuclei with sensitivity up to $10^{-15}$ in units of magnetic dipole moments, allowed by all discrete symmetries, is one of the topical problems of modern physics. According to Sakharov, $CP$-violation is one of the three key criteria of baryogenesis in generally accepted paradigm of the Big Bang cosmology. All three criteria are supported by the Standard Model (SM), but it fails to describe the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe. This is regarded a strong argument in favor of existence of $CP$-symmetry breaking mechanisms beyond minimal SM, which can lead to measurable EDMs of atoms, particles and nuclei. Direct searches for EDM of charged particles and nuclei are possible only in storage rings (COSY, NICA). After successful studies by the JEDI collaboration at the COSY synchrotron, at the forefront is a search for the proton EDM in an electrostatic storage ring with the proton spin frozen at the magic energy with projected sensitivity $d_p\sim 10^{-29}\,e\cdot$cm. Following a brief introduction to the $CP$-violation physics and the baryogenesis, the review presents a detailed discussion of significant contributions to the spin dynamics from the terrestrial gravity along with the new effects of Earth's rotation in ultrasensitive searches for the EDM of charged particles and neutrons. Quite remarkably, for the projected sensitivity to the proton EDM, these false EDM effects can by one to two orders of magnitude exceed the signal of the proton EDM, and become comparable to an EDM contribution in experiments with ultracold neutrons. We also discuss the role of a precessing spin as a detector of the axion-like dark matter, and consider applications of the quantum gravitational anomalies to the dense matter hydrodynamics and the spin phenomena in the non-central nuclear collisions.

We consider the theory of Rarita-Schwinger field interacting with a field with spin 1/2, in the case of finite temperature, chemical potential and vorticity, and calculate the chiral vortical effect for spin 3/2. We have clearly demonstrated the role of interaction with the spin 1/2 field, the contribution of the terms with which to CVE is 6. Since the contribution from the Rarita-Schwinger field is -1, the overall coefficient in CVE is 6-1=5, which corresponds to the recent prediction of a gauge chiral anomaly for spin 3/2. The obtained values for the coefficients $μ^2$ and $T^2$ are proportional to each other, but not proportional to the spin, which indicates a possible new universality between the temperature-related and the chemical potential-related vortical effects. The results obtained allow us to speculate about the relationship between the gauge and gravitational chiral anomalies.

We reanalyze the experimental NMC data on the nonsinglet structure function $F_2^p-F_2^n$ and E866 data on the nucleon sea asymmetry $\bar{d}/\bar{u}$ using the truncated moments approach elaborated in our previous papers. With help of the special truncated sum one can overcome the problem of the unavoidable experimental restrictions on the Bjorken $x$ and effectively study the fundamental sum rules for the parton distributions and structure functions. Using only the data from the measured region of $x$, we obtain the Gottfried sum $\int_0^1 F_2^{ns}/x\, dx$ and the integrated nucleon sea asymmetry $\int_0^1 (\bar{d}-\bar{u})\, dx$. We compare our results with the reported experimental values and with the predictions obtained for different global parametrizations for the parton distributions. We also discuss the discrepancy between the NMC and E866 results on $\int_0^1 (\bar{d}-\bar{u})\, dx$. We demonstrate that this discrepancy can be resolved by taking into account the higher-twist effects.

Two alternative frameworks to evaluate the effect are considered, both of which have already been tried in the literature. First, the standard thermal fied theory and, alternatively, Hawking-radiation-type derivation. In our earlier attempt to compare the two approaches, we found a crucial factor of two difference. Here we revisit the problem, paying more attention to details of infrared regularizations. We find out that introduction of an infinitesimal mass of the vector field brings the two ways of evaluating the chiral vortical effect into agreement with each other. Our analysis shows that the azimuthal asymmetries and Callan-Gross ratio are predicted to be large and very sensitive to the contribution of the gluonic counterpart of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$, describing the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized nucleon. In particular, the maximum values of the azimuthal distributions vary from 0 to 1 depending on $h_{1}^{\perp g}$. We conclude that future measurements of these quantities at the proposed EIC and LHeC colliders could clarify in details the proton spin decomposition puzzle.

The Unruh effect has been investigated from the point of view of the quantum statistical Zubarev density operator in space with the Minkowski metric. Quantum corrections of the fourth order in acceleration to the energy-momentum tensor of real and complex scalar fields, and Dirac field are calculated. Both massless and massive fields are considered. The method for regularization of discovered infrared divergences for scalar fields is proposed. The calculated corrections make it possible to substantiate the Unruh effect from the point of view of the statistical approach, and to explicitly show its universality for various quantum field theories of massless and massive fields. The obtained results exactly coincide with the ones obtained earlier by calculation of the vacuum average of energy-momentum tensor in a space with a conical singularity. Thus, the duality of two methods for describing an accelerated medium is substantiated. One may also speak about the emergence of geometry with conical singularity from thermodynamics. In particular, the polynomiality of the energy-momentum tensor and the absence of higher-order corrections in acceleration can be explicitly demonstrated.

We demonstrate that the energy density of an accelerated fermion gas evaluated within quantum statistical approach in Minkowski space is related to a quantum correction to the vacuum expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor in a space with non-trivial metric and conical singularity. The key element of the derivation is the existence of a novel class of polynomial Sommerfeld integrals. The emerging duality of quantum statistical and geometrical approaches is explicitly checked at temperatures $T$ above or equal to the Unruh temperature $T_U$. Treating the acceleration as an imaginary part of the chemical potential allows for an analytical continuation to temperatures $T<T_U$ . There is a discontinuity at $T=T_U$ manifested in the second derivative of the energy density with respect to the temperature. Moreover, energy density becomes negative at $T<T_U$, apparently indicating some instability. Obtained results might have phenomenological implications for the physics of heavy-ion collisions.

The inverse Radon transform allows to obtain partonic double distributions from (extended) generalized parton distributions. We express the extension of generalized parton distributions by their dual parts, generalized distribution amplitudes and study some aspects of the filtered backprojection (inverse Radon transform). We also show that single integral transforms, previously obtained in the context of wave function overlap representation, are valid for generalized parton distributions that do not possess such a representation. Utilizing Radyushkin`s double distribution ansatz, we study and compare the numerical evaluation of double distributions within the filtered backprojection and single integral transforms along the imaginary and real axes.

Using the Zubarev quantum-statistical density operator, we calculated the corrections to the energy-momentum tensor of a massless fermion gas associated with acceleration. It is shown that when fourth-order corrections are taken into account, the energy-momentum tensor in the laboratory frame is equal to zero at a proper temperature measured by a comoving observer equal to Unruh temperature. Consequently, the Minkowski vacuum is visible to the accelerated observer as a medium filled with a heat bath of particles with the Unruh temperature, which is the essence of the Unruh effect.

Generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are 3-dimensional (3D) structure functions for hadrons, and they are important for solving the proton spin puzzle including partonic orbital-angular-momentum contributions. The $s$-$t$ crossed quantities of the GPDs are generalized distribution amplitudes (GDAs). Here, $s$ and $t$ are Mandelstam variables. The GDAs can be studied in two-photon processes ($γ^* γ\to h \bar h$) at KEKB. A GDA describes the amplitude from quark and antiquark to the hadron pair $h \bar h$. In 2016, the Belle collaboration reported measurements for pion-pair production in electron-positron collision, and the pion GDAs were determined in this work by analyzing the Belle data. In our analysis, the pion GDAs are expressed by a few parameters, which are determined by analyzing the Belle data. From the obtained GDAs, form factors of energy-momentum tenor, so called gravitational form factors, are calculated for pion in the timelike region. The spacelike gravitational form factors are calculated from the timelike ones by using the dispersion relation. Then, the mass radius is calculated as 0.32-0.39 fm and the mechanical radius, defined by the slope of the form factor $Θ_1$, is calculated as 0.82-0.88 fm for the pion by using the spacelike form factors. This is the first study on gravitational form factors and radii of hadrons from actual experimental measurements. In 2019, the Belle II collaboration will start collecting data by the higher luminosity Super KEKB, so that the GDAs of other hadrons should also be investigated in the near future. Our studies are valuable in understanding 3D structure and gravitational properties of hadrons.

Our analysis shows that the azimuthal distributions under consideration vary from 0 to 1 depending on the transverse-momentum dependent gluonic counterpart of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$. We conclude that the $\cos \varphi$ and $\cos 2\varphi$ asymmetries in heavy-quark pair production in DIS processes are predicted to be large in wide kinematic ranges and sensitive to the contribution of linearly polarized gluons.

We consider the problem of transferring overall rotation of quark-gluon plasma to polarization of hyperons along the rotation axis. As a toy theoretical model, we exploit that of pionic superfluidity induced by chemical potentials violating isotopic symmetry. Apparently, the model accounts only for the light degrees of freedom, that is pions. The rotation, however, results in vortices which are infinitely thin in the hydrodynamic approximation. Field theory resolves the singularity and predicts that the core of the vortices is build up on spins of baryons. We review consequences from the quark-hadron duality in this case. First, an anomalous triangle graph in effective field theory turns to be dual to the vorticity term in the standard hydrodynamic expansion. And, then, the overall coefficient determining the polarization of baryons is fixed by duality with the triangle graph in the fundamental field theory.

We determined the pion GDAs by analyzing Belle data on the differential cross section for the two-photon process $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$. From the determined GDAs, we calculated timelike gravitational form factors of the pion and they were converted to the spacelike form factors by using the dispersion relation. These gravitational form factors $Θ_1$ and $Θ_2$ indicate mechanical (pressure, shear force) and gravitational-mass (or energy) distributions, respectively. Then, gravitational radii are calculated for the pion from the form factors, and they are compared with the pion charge radius. We study the Callan-Gross ratio $R={\rm d}σ_L/{\rm d}σ_T$ in heavy-quark pair leptoproduction, $lN\rightarrow l^{\prime}Q\bar{Q}X$, as a probe of linearly polarized gluons inside unpolarized proton, where ${\rm d}σ_T$ (${\rm d}σ_L$) is the differential cross section of the $γ^*N\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}X$ process initiated by a transverse (longitudinal) virtual photon. Note first that the maximal value for the quantity $R$ allowed by the photon-gluon fusion with unpolarized gluons is large, about 2. We calculate the contribution of the transverse-momentum dependent gluonic counterpart of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$, describing the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton. Our analysis shows that the maximum value of the ratio $R$ depends strongly on the gluon polarization; it varies from 0 to $\frac{Q^2}{4m^2}$ depending on $h_{1}^{\perp g}$. We conclude that the Callan-Gross ratio in heavy-quark pair leptoproduction is predicted to be large and very sensitive to the contribution of linearly polarized gluons. For this reason, future measurements of the longitudinal and transverse components of the charm and bottom production cross sections at the proposed EIC and LHeC colliders seem to be very promising for determination of the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton.

Three-dimensional tomography of hadrons can be investigated by generalized parton distributions (GPDs), transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions (TMDs), and generalized distribution amplitudes (GDAs). The GDA studies had been only theoretical for a long time because there was no experimental measurement until recently, whereas the GPDs and TMDs have been investigated extensively by deeply virtual Compton scattering and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. Here, we report our studies to determine pion GDAs from recent KEKB measurements on the differential cross section of $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$. Since an exotic-hadron pair can be produced in the final state, the GDAs can be used also for probing internal structure of exotic hadron candidates in future. The other important feature of the GDAs is that the GDAs contain information on form factors of the energy-momentum tensor for quarks and gluons, so that gravitational form factors and radii can be calculated from the determined GDAs. We show the mass (energy) and the mechanical (pressure, shear force) form factors and radii for the pion. Our analysis should be the first attempt for obtaining gravitational form factors and radii of hadrons by analysis of actual experimental measurements. We believe that a new field of gravitational physics is created from the microscopic level in terms of elementary quarks and gluons.

We try to establish a connection between the hadronic distributions, in proton-proton collisions at very high transverse momentum $p_{\mathrm{T}}$, obtained via perturbative QCD and the Tsallis non extensive statistics. Our motivation is that while the former is expected to be valid at extremely high momentum, due to asymptotic freedom, the latter has been very successful in describing experimental spectra over a wide range of momentum. Matching the non extensive statistics with the asymptotic $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ behaviour expected from QCD leads to the value of $q=1.25$.

The GDA studies provide information on three-dimensional tomography of hadrons. The GDAs can be investigated by the two-photon process $γ^* γ\to h\bar h$, and the GPDs are studied by the deeply virtual Compton scattering $γ^* h \to γh$. The GDA studies had been pure theoretical topics, although the GPDs have been experimentally investigated, because there was no available experimental measurement. Recently, the Belle collaboration reported their measurements on the $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$ differential cross section, so that it became possible to find the GDAs from their measurements. Here, we report our analysis of the Belle data for determining the pion GDAs. From the GDAs, the timelike gravitational form factors $Θ_1 (s)$ and $Θ_2 (s)$ can be calculated, which are mechanical (pressure, shear force) and mass (energy) form factors, respectively. They are converted to the spacelike form factors by using the dispersion relation, and then gravitational radii are evaluated for the pion. The mass and mechanical radii are obtained from $Θ_2$ and $Θ_1$ as $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{mass}}} =0.56 \sim 0.69$ fm and $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{mech}}} =1.45 \sim 1.56$ fm, whereas the experimental charge radius is $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{charge}}} =0.672 \pm 0.008$ fm for the charged pion. Here, we extract the GDAs, which are $s$-$t$ crossed quantities of the GPDs, from cross-section measurements of hadron-pair production process $γ^* γ\rightarrow π^0 π^0$ at KEKB. This work is the first attempt to obtain the GDAs from the actual experimental data. The GDAs are expressed by a number of parameters and they are determined from the data of $γ^* γ\rightarrow π^0 π^0$ by including intermediate scalar- and tensor-meson contributions to the cross section. Our results indicate that the dependence of parton-momentum fraction $z$ in the GDAs is close to the asymptotic one. The timelike gravitational form factors $Θ_1$ and $Θ_2$ are obtained from our GDAs, and they are converted to the spacelike ones by the dispersion relation. From the spacelike $Θ_1$ and $Θ_2$, gravitational densities of the pion are calculated. Then, we obtained the mass (energy) radius and the mechanical (pressure and shear force) radius from $Θ_2$ and $Θ_1$, respectively. We study the Drell-Yan process in the polarized pion-nucleon scattering. We calculate the $U(1)_\text{em}$ gauge invariant hadron tensors. To this end, we have to take into account two diagrams---the standard diagram and an additional one---both diagrams are required to get the gauge invariant hadron tensor. We obtain a new single transverse spin asymmetry that probes gluon poles and chiral-odd distribution functions. The process of pion-nucleon scattering in the limit of large Feynman $x$ is described by a convolution of two non-collinear exclusive-channel distribution amplitudes, which demonstrates the duality between different factorization regimes.

Abstract:
Based on the use of contour gauge and collinear factorization, we propose a new set of single spin asymmetry which can be measured in polarized Drell-Yan process by SPD@NICA. We stress that the discussed single transverse spin asymmetries exist owing to the gluon poles manifesting in the twist-3 or twist-2$\otimes$twist-3 parton distributions related to the transverse-polarized Drell-Yan process.

We develop the general theory of spinning particles with electric and magnetic dipole moments moving in arbitrary electromagnetic, inertial and gravitational fields. Both the quantum-mechanical and classical dynamics is investigated. We start from the covariant Dirac equation extended to a spin-${\frac 12}$ fermion with anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments and then perform the relativistic Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation. This transformation allows us to obtain the quantum-mechanical equations of motion for the physical operators in the Schrödinger form and to establish the classical limit of relativistic quantum mechanics. The results obtained are then compared to the general classical description of the spinning particle interacting with electromagnetic, inertial and gravitational fields. The complete agreement between the quantum mechanics and the classical theory is proven in the general case. As an application of the results obtained, we consider the dynamics of a spinning particle in a gravitational wave and analyze the prospects of using the magnetic resonance setup to find possible manifestations of the gravitational wave on spin.

We present the QCD predictions for the azimuthal $\cos 2\varphi$ asymmetry in charm leptoproduction for the kinematics of the COMPASS experiment at CERN. The asymmetry is predicted to be large, about 15%. The radiative corrections to the QCD predictions for the $\cos 2\varphi$ distribution are estimated to be small, less than 10%. Our calculations show that the azimuthal asymmetry in charm production is well defined in pQCD: it is stable both perturbatively and parametrically, and practically insensitive to theoretical uncertainties in the input parameters. We analyze the nonperturbative contributions to the $\cos 2\varphi$ distribution due to the gluon transverse motion in the target and the $c$-quark fragmentation. Because of the $c$-quark low mass, the nonperturbative contributions are expected to be sizable, about (30--40)%. We conclude that extraction of the azimuthal asymmetries from available COMPASS data will provide valuable information about the transverse momentum dependent distribution of the gluon in the proton and the $c$-quark hadronization mechanism. Finally, we discuss the $\cos 2\varphi$ asymmetry as a probe of the gluonic analogue of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$, describing the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton.

We consider chiral fluids, with (nearly) massless fermionic constituents, in the confining phase. Chiral vortical effect (CVE) is the flow of axial current along the axis of rotation of the fluid while the spin alignment is a non-vanishing correlation of polarizations of baryons with the axis of rotation. As the theoretical framework we use the model of pionic superfluidity induced by a non-vanishing isotopic chemical potential. We note that the average value of spin of virtual baryons reproduces the CVE. The role of defects, or vortices is crucial. The model does not apply directly to the quark-gluon plasma but might indicate existence of a mechanism to produce baryons with relatively large polarization in heavy-ion collisions.
