In this work, we study quantum heat transport in a single trapped ion, driven by laser excitation and coupled to thermal reservoirs operating at different temperatures. Our focus lies in understanding how different laser coupling scenarios impact the system dynamics. As the laser intensity reaches a regime where the ion's electronic and motional degrees of freedom strongly couple, traditional approaches using phenomenological models for thermal reservoirs become inadequate. Therefore, the adoption of the dressed master equation (DME) formalism becomes crucial, enabling a deeper understanding of how distinct laser intensities influence heat transport. Analyzing the heat current within the parameter space defined by detuning and coupling strength, we observe intriguing circular patterns which are influenced by the ion's vibrational frequency and laser parameters, and reveal nuanced relationships between heat transport, residual coherence, and system characteristics. Our study also reveals phenomena such as negative differential heat conductivity and asymmetry in heat current flow, offering insights into the thermal properties of this essential quantum technology setup.

Trapped ions driven by electromagnetic radiation constitute one of the most developed quantum technologies to date. The scenarios range from proof-of-principle experiments to on-chip integration for quantum information units. In most cases, these systems have operated in a regime where the magnitude of the ion-radiation coupling constant is much smaller than the trap and electronic transition frequencies. This regime allows the use of simple effective Hamiltonians based on the validity of the rotating wave approximation. However, novel trap and cavity designs now permit regimes in which the trap frequency and the ion-radiation coupling constant are commensurate. This opens up new venues for faster quantum gates and state transfers from the ion to a photon, and other quantum operations. From the theoretical side, however, there is not yet much known in terms of models and applications that go beyond the weak driving scenario. In this work, we will present two main results in the scenario of stronger drivings. First, we revisit a known protocol to reconstruct the motional Wigner function and expand it to stronger driving lasers. This extension is not trivial because the original protocol makes use of effective Hamiltonians valid only for weak drivings. The use of stronger fields or faster operations is desirable since experimental reconstruction methods of that kind are usually hindered by decoherence. We then present a model that allows the analytical treatment of stronger drivings and that works well for non-resonant interactions, which are generally out of the reach of the previous models.

In the present work, we carry out the study of scattering solitons for the anti-kink/kink and kink/anti-kink configurations. Furthermore, we can observe the same effects as those described by D. Bazeia et al.. We apply the collective coordinate approximation method to describe both scattering configurations and verify that just as happens in the polynomial models $φ^4$ and $φ^6$, the method has its limitations regarding the initial scattering speeds. In such a way that, for certain initial speeds, the solution of collective coordinates agrees with the fullsimulation, and for other speeds, there is a discrepancy in the solutions obtained by these two methods. We also noticed that, considering the hybrid model, the null-vector problem persists for both configurations, and when trying to fix it, a singularity is created in moduli-space as well as in $φ^4$.

Abstract:
We discuss two models in $1+1$ dimensional space-time for real scalar field multiplets on the root space of $\mathfrak{g}_2$ and $\mathfrak{su}(4)$ Lie algebras. The construction of these models is presented and the corresponding BPS solutions are found.
