Groupoid homology and K-theory for algebraic actions from number theory
Abstract: We compute the groupoid homology for the ample groupoids associated with algebraic actions from rings of algebraic integers and integral dynamics. We derive results for the homology of the topological full groups associated with rings of algebraic integers, and we use our groupoid homology calculation to compute the K-theory for ring C*-algebras of rings of algebraic integers, recovering the resul… ▽ More

On the C*-algebra associated with the full adele ring of a number field
Abstract: The multiplicative group of a number field acts by multiplication on the full adele ring of the field. Generalising a theorem of Laca and Raeburn, we explicitly describe the primitive ideal space of the crossed product C*-algebra associated with this action. We then distinguish real, complex, and finite places of the number field using K-theoretic invariants. Combining these results with a recent… ▽ More

Constructing number field isomorphisms from *-isomorphisms of certain crossed product C*-algebras
Abstract: We prove that the class of crossed product C*-algebras associated with the action of the multiplicative group of a number field on its ring of finite adeles is rigid in the following explicit sense: Given any *-isomorphism between two such C*-algebras, we construct an isomorphism between the underlying number fields. As an application, we prove an analogue of the Neukirch--Uchida theorem using top… ▽ More

Limits of KMS states on Toeplitz algebras of finite graphs
Abstract: The structure of KMS states of Toeplitz algebras associated to finite graphs equipped with the gauge action is determined by an Huef--Laca--Raeburn--Sims. Their results imply that extremal KMS states of type I correspond to vertices, while extremal KMS states at critical inverse temperatures correspond to minimal strongly connected components. The purpose of this article is to clarify the role of… ▽ More

C*-dynamical invariants and Toeplitz algebras of graphs
Abstract: In recent joint work of the authors with Laca, we precisely formulated the notion of partition function in the context of C*-dynamical systems. Here, we compute the partition functions of C*-dynamical systems arising from Toeplitz algebras of graphs, and we explicitly recover graph-theoretic information in terms of C*-dynamical invariants. In addition, we compute the type for KMS states on C*-alge… ▽ More

Partition functions as C*-dynamical invariants and actions of congruence monoids
Abstract: We study the phase transition of KMS states for the C*-algebras of $ax+b$-semigroups of algebraic integers in which the multiplicative part is restricted to a congruence monoid, as in recent work of Bruce generalizing earlier work of Cuntz, Deninger, and Laca. Here we realize the extremal low-temperature KMS states as generalized Gibbs states by constructing concrete representations induced from e… ▽ More

Reconstructing the Bost--Connes semigroup actions from K-theory
Abstract: We complete the classification of Bost--Connes systems. We show that two Bost--Connes C*-algebras for number fields are isomorphic if and only if the original semigroups actions are conjugate. Together with recent reconstruction results in number theory by Cornelissen--de Smit--Li--Marcolli--Smit, we conclude that two Bost--Connes C*-algebras are isomorphic if and only if the original number field… ▽ More

Primitive ideals and K-theoretic approach to Bost-Connes systems
Abstract: By KMS-classification theorem, the Dedekind zeta function is an invariant of Bost-Connes systems. In this paper, we show that it is in fact an invariant of Bost-Connes $C^*$-algebras. We examine second maximal primitive ideals of Bost-Connes $C^*$-algebras, and apply $K$-theory to some quotients.

Bost-Connes systems for local fields of characteristic zero
Abstract: The Bost-Connes system is a $C^*$-dynamical system which has a relation with the class field theory. The purpose of this paper is to generalize the notion of Bost-Connes systems to local fields of characteristic zero. The notable phenomenon in the case of local fields is the absence of the phase transition. We also investigate the relation between the global and local ones.

Irreducible Representations of Bost-Connes systems
Abstract: The classification problem of Bost-Connes systems was studied by Cornellissen and Marcolli partially, but still remains unsolved. In this paper, we will give a representation-theoretic approach to this problem. We generalize the result of Laca and Raeburn, which concerns with the primitive ideal space on the Bost-Connes system for $\mathbb{Q}$. As a consequence, the Bost-Connes $C^*$-algebra for a… ▽ More

On Nuclearity of $C^*$-algebras of Fell bundles over étale groupoids
Abstract: In this paper, we show that if E is a Fell bundle over an amenable étale locally compact Hausdorff groupoid such that every fiber on the unit space is nuclear, then $C?^*r(E)$ is also nuclear. In order to show this result, we introduce (minimal) tensor products of Fell bundles with fixed $C^*$-algebras.
