On the supersingular locus of the Siegel modular variety of genus 3 or 4
Abstract: We study the supersingular locus of the Siegel modular variety of genus 3 or 4. More concretely, we decompose the supersingular locus into a disjoint union of the product of a Deligne-Lusztig variety of Coxeter type and a finite-dimensional affine space after taking perfection.

On Frobenius liftability of surface singularities
Abstract: We show that a plt surface singularity $(P\in X,B)$ is $F$-liftable if and only if it is $F$-pure and is not a rational double point of type $E_8^1$ in characteristic $p=5$. As a consequence, we prove the logarithmic extension theorem for $F$-pure surface pairs and Bogomolov-Sommese vanishing for globally $F$-split surface pairs. These results were previously known to hold in characteristic $p>5$.

On the semi-infinite Deligne--Lusztig varieties for $\mathrm{GSp}$
Abstract: We prove that the structure of Lusztig's semi-infinite Deligne--Lusztig variety for $\mathrm{GSp}$ (and its inner form) is isomorphic to an affine Deligne--Lusztig variety at infinite level, as a generalization of Chan--Ivanov's result. Furthermore, we show that a component of some affine Deligne--Lusztig variety for $\mathrm{GSp}$ can be written as a direct product of a classical Deligne--Lusztig… ▽ More

Quasi-F-splittings in birational geometry II
Abstract: Over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>41$, we prove that three-dimensional $\mathbb Q$-factorial affine klt varieties are quasi-$F$-split. Furthermore, we show that the bound on the characteristic is optimal.

Quasi-F-splittings in birational geometry
Abstract: We develop the theory of quasi-$F$-splittings in the context of birational geometry. Amongst other things, we obtain results on liftability of sections and establish a criterion for whether a scheme is quasi-$F$-split employing the higher Cartier operator. As one of the applications of our theory, we prove that three-dimensional klt singularities in large characteristic are quasi-$F$-split, and so… ▽ More

Plasmon-molecule remote coupling via column-structured silica layer for enhancing biophotonic analysis
Abstract: We demonstrated remote plasmonic enhancement (RPE) by a dense random array of Ag nanoislands (AgNIs) that were partially gold-alloyed and attached with column-structured silica (CSS) overlayer of more than 100 nm in thickness. The physical and chemical protection of the CSS layer could lead to reducing the mutual impact between analyte molecules and metal nanostructures. RPE plate was realized jus… ▽ More

Fedder type criteria for quasi-$F$-splitting
Abstract: Yobuko recently introduced the notion of quasi-$F$-splitting and $F$-split heights, which generalize and quantify the notion of Frobenius-splitting, and proved that $F$-split heights coincide with Artin-Mazur heights for Calabi-Yau varieties. In this paper, we prove Fedder type criteria of quasi-$F$-splittings of complete intersections, and in particular obtain an easy formula to compute Artin-Maz… ▽ More

Unpolarized Shafarevich conjectures for hyper-Kähler varieties
Abstract: The Shafarevich conjecture/problem is about the finiteness of isomorphism classes of a family of varieties defined over a number field with good reduction outside a finite collection of places. For K3 surfaces, such a finiteness result was proved by Y. She. For hyper-Kähler varieties, which are higher-dimensional analogs of K3 surfaces, Y. On the Shafarevich conjecture for irreducible symplectic varieties
Abstract: Irreducible symplectic varieties are higher-dimensional analogues of K3 surfaces. In this paper, we prove the Shafarevich conjecture for irreducible symplectic varieties of fixed deformation class. We also observe that the second cohomological generalization of the Shafarevich conjecture does not hold in general, and discuss another formulation of a cohomological generalization.

On behavior of conductors, Picard schemes, and Jacobian numbers of varieties over imperfect fields
Abstract: Let $X$ be a regular geometrically integral variety over an imperfect field $K$. Unlike the case of characteristic $0$, $X':=X\times_{\mathrm{Spec}\,K}\mathrm{Spec}\,K'$ may have singular points for a (necessarily inseparable) field extension $K'/K$. In this paper, we define new invariants of the local rings of codimension $1$ points of $X'$, and use these invariants for the calculation of $δ$-inv… ▽ More

Reduction annealing effects on the crystal structure of $T^{\prime}$-type La$_{1.8}$Eu$_{0.2}$CuO$_{4+α-δ}$
Abstract: We performed neutron powder diffraction measurements on the as-sintered (AS) and oxygen-reduced (OR) La$_{1.8}$Eu$_{0.2}$CuO$_{4+α-δ}$ (LECO). The structural parameters for oxygens in AS and OR samples refined by the Rietveld analysis are almost identical to those of the reference system, Pr$_{2}$CuO$_{4+α-δ}$. Thus, the two systems are comparable in terms of the structural changes in oxygens due… ▽ More

On the finiteness of twists of irreducible symplectic varieties
Abstract: Irreducible symplectic varieties are higher-dimensional analogues of K3 surfaces. In this paper, we prove the finiteness of twists of irreducible symplectic varieties via a fixed finite field extension of characteristic $0$. The main ingredient of the proof is the cone conjecture for irreducible symplectic varieties, which was proved by Markman and Amerik--Verbitsky. As byproducts, we also discuss… ▽ More

Minimal model program for semi-stable threefolds in mixed characteristic
Abstract: In this paper, we study the minimal model theory for threefolds in mixed characteristic. As a generalization of a result of Kawamata, we show that the MMP holds for strictly semi-stable schemes over an excellent Dedekind scheme $V$ of relative dimension two without any assumption on the residue characteristics of $V$. We also prove that we can run a $(K_{X/V}+Δ)$-MMP over $Z$, where… ▽ More

Abstract: A bielliptic surface (a hyperelliptic surface) is a surface whose Albanese morphism gives an elliptic fibration.
