A multidimensional solution to additive homological equations
Abstract: In this paper we prove that for a finite-dimensional real normed space $V$, every bounded mean zero function $f\in L_\infty([0,1];V)$ can be written in the form $f = g\circ T - g$ for some $g\in L_\infty([0,1];V)$ and some ergodic invertible measure preserving transformation $T$ of $[0,1]$. Our method moreover allows us to choose $g$, for any given $\varepsilon>0$, to be such that… ▽ More

Full proof of Kwapień's theorem on representing bounded mean zero functions on $[0,1]$
Abstract: In [7], Kwapień announced that every mean zero function $f\in L_\infty[0,1]$ can be written as a coboundary $f = g\circ T -g$ for some $g\in L_\infty[0,1]$ and some measure preserving transformation $T$ of $[0,1]$. Whereas the original proof in [7] holds for continuous functions, there is a serious gap in the proof for functions with discontinuities. In this article we fill in this gap and establi… ▽ More

Innerness of continuous derivations on algebras of locally measurable operators
Abstract: It is established that every derivation continuous with respect to the local measure topology acting on the *-algebra $LS(\mathcal{M})$ of all locally measurable operators affiliated with a von Neumann algebra $\mathcal{M}$ is necessary inner. If $\mathcal{M}$ is a properly infinite von Neumann algebra, then every derivation on $LS(\mathcal{M})$ is inner. In addition, it is proved that any derivat… ▽ More

Abstract: Let $\mathcal{I,J}$ be symmetric quasi-Banach ideals of compact operators on an infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert space $H$, let $\mathcal{J:I}$ be a space of multipliers from $\mathcal{I}$ to $\mathcal{J}$. Obviously, ideals $\mathcal{I}$ and $\mathcal{J}$ are quasi-Banach algebras and it is clear that ideal $\mathcal{J}$ is a bimodule for $\mathcal{I}$. We study the set of all derivations fro… ▽ More

Kruglov operator and operators defined by random permutations
Abstract: The Kruglov property and the Kruglov operator play an important role in the study of geometric properties of r.i. function spaces. We prove that the boundedness of the Kruglov operator in a r.i. space is equivalent to the uniform boundedness on this space of a sequence of operators defined by random permutations. It is shown also that there is no minimal r.i. space with the Kruglov property.

An Analytic Approach to Spectral Flow in von Neumann Algebras
