Abstract:
In this article, we show that $α$-fractal functions defined on Sierpiński gasket (denoted by $\triangle$) depend continuously on the parameters involved in the construction. In the latter part of this article, the continuous dependence of parameters on $α$-fractal functions defined on $\triangle$ is shown graphically.

Abstract:
In this paper, a metric on $S_b$-metric space analogous to the Hausdorff metric has been introduced and some basic properties are obtained on multi-valued $S_b$-metric space. Further, the fundamental multi-valued contraction of Nadler(1962) has been extended to the $S_b$-metric space setting, and two results have been established. The entire study is supported by suitable examples.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of the $α$-fractal function and fractal approximation for a set-valued continuous map defined on a closed and bounded interval of real numbers. Also, we study some properties of such fractal functions. Further, we estimate the perturbation error between the given continuous function and its $α$-fractal function. Additionally, we define a new graph of a set-valued function different from the standard graph introduced in the literature and establish some bounds on the fractal dimension of the newly defined graph of some special classes of set-valued functions. Also, we explain the need to define this new graph with examples. In the sequel, we prove that this new graph of an $α$-fractal function is an attractor of an iterated function system.

In this article, we construct the multivariate fractal interpolation functions for a given data points and explore the existence of $α$-fractal function corresponding to the multivariate continuous function defined on $[0,1]\times \cdots \times [0,1](q\text{-times})$. The parameters are selected such that the corresponding fractal version preserves some of the original function's properties, for instance, if the given function is Hölder continuous, then the corresponding $α$-fractal function is also Hölder continuous. Moreover, we explore the restriction of the $α$-fractal function on the co-ordinate axis. Furthermore, the box dimension and Hausdorff dimension of the graph of the multivariate $α$-fractal function and its restriction are investigated. In the last section, we prove that the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of fractal function satisfies a self-referential equation.

We consider the monotone inclusion problems in real Hilbert spaces. Proximal splitting algorithms are very popular technique to solve it and generally achieve weak convergence under mild assumptions. Researchers assume the strong conditions like strong convexity or strong monotonicity on the considered operators to prove strong convergence of the algorithms. Mann iteration method and normal S-iteration method are popular methods to solve fixed point problems. We propose a new common fixed point algorithm based on normal S-iteration method using Tikhonov regularization to find common fixed point of nonexpansive operators and prove strong convergence of the generated sequence to the set of common fixed points without assuming strong convexity and strong monotonicity. Based on proposed fixed point algorithm, we propose a forward-backward-type algorithm and a Douglas-Rachford algorithm in connection with Tikhonov regularization to find the solution of monotone inclusion problems. Further, we consider the complexly structured monotone inclusion problems which are very popular these days. We also propose a strongly convergent forward-backward-type primal-dual algorithm and a Douglas-Rachford-type primal-dual algorithm to solve the monotone inclusion problems. Finally, we conduct a numerical experiment to solve image deblurring problems.

Magnetic analogue of an isolated free electric charge, i.e., a magnet with a single north or south pole, is a long sought-after particle which remains elusive so far. In magnetically frustrated pyrochlore solids, a classical analogue of monopole was observed as a result of excitation of spin ice vertices. Direct visualization of such excitations were proposed and later confirmed in analogous artificial spin ice (ASI) systems of square as well as Kagome geometries. However, such charged vertices are randomly created as they are thermally driven and are always associated with corresponding emergent antimonopoles of equal and opposite charges connected by observable strings. Here, we demonstrate a controlled stabilisation of a robust isolated emergent monopole state in individual square ASI vertices by application of an external magnetic field. The excitation conserves the magnetic charge without the involvement of a corresponding antimonopole. Well supported by Monte Carlo simulations our experimental results enable, in absence of a true elemental magnetic monopole, creation of electron vortices and studying electrodynamics in presence of a monopole field in a solid state environment.

In artificial spin ice systems, an interplay of defects and dipolar interactions is expected to play important roles in stabilizing different collective magnetic states. In this work, we investigated the magnetization reversal of individual defective square artificial spin ice vertices where defects break four-fold rotational symmetry of the system. By varying the angle between the applied field and the geometrical axis of the vertices, we observe a change in energy landscape of the system resulting into the stabilization of collective low-energy magnetic states. We also observe that by changing the angle, it is possible to access different vertex configurations. Micromagnetic simulations are performed for varying angle as well as external field, the results of which are consistent with the experimental data.

Two dimensional materials are an emerging class of materials which is transforming the present day research activity on a phenomenal scale. Hexagonal boron nitride is a wide band gap 2D material which is an excellent substrate for graphene based electronics. To achieve the full potential of hBN scalable and high yield growth procedures are required. Here, we demonstrate the synthesis of hBN by reactive R.F magnetron sputtering over copper foil. Copper foil preparation conditions determines the phase selectivity of BN films. Deposition of hBN on non-electropolished Cu foils with predominant (100) orientation resulted in growth of BN islands with mixed cubic and hexagonal BN phase. On electropolished Cu foils with high symmetry hexagonal (111) surface termination we get growth of continuous hexagonal BN films, while on Cu foils having (100) and (110) orientation with lower symmetry growth of cubic BN films are observed.

Si(100) substrates were exposed to 500 eV argon ions. Different surface morphology evolves with increasing angle of incidence. Parallel-mode ripples are observed up to 67\degree which undergo a transition to perpendicular-mode ripples at 80\degree. However, this transition is not a sharp one but undergoes a series of unusual pattern formation at intermediate angles. Complete smoothening of silicon surface is observed at incident angles beyond 80\degree. The observed patterns are attributed to surface confined viscous flow and sputter erosion under ion bombardment.

Zn nanoclusters (NCs) are deposited by Low-energy cluster beam deposition technique. The mechanism of oxidation is studied by analysing their compositional and morphological evolution over a long span of time (three years) due to exposure to ambient atmosphere. It is concluded that the mechanism proceeds in two steps. In the first step, the shell of ZnO forms over Zn NCs rapidly up to certain limiting thickness: with in few days -- depending upon the size -- Zn NCs are converted to Zn-ZnO (core-shell), Zn-void-ZnO, or hollow ZnO type NCs. Bigger than ~15 nm become Zn-ZnO (core-shell) type: among them, NCs above ~25 nm could able to retain their initial geometrical shapes (namely triangular, hexagonal, rectangular and rhombohedral), but ~25 to 15 nm size NCs become irregular or distorted geometrical shapes. NCs between ~15 to 5 nm become Zn-void-ZnO type, and smaller than ~5 nm become ZnO hollow sphere type i.e. ZnO hollow NCs. In the second step, all Zn-void-ZnO and Zn-ZnO (core-shell) structures are converted to hollow ZnO NCs in a slow and gradual process, and the mechanism of conversion proceeds through expansion in size by incorporating ZnO monomers inside the shell. The observed oxidation behaviour of NCs is compared with theory of Cabrera - Mott on low-temperature oxidation of metal.

High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) are used to study the ion induced effects in Au, Ag nanostructures grown on Si and thermally grown SiO2 substrates. Au and Ag films (~2 nm) are prepared by thermal evaporation under high vacuum condition at room temperature (RT). These films were irradiated with MeV Au ions also at RT. Very thin films of Au and Ag deposited on silicon substrates (with native oxide) form isolated nano-island structures due to the non-wetting nature of Au and Ag. Ion irradiation causes embedding of these nanoislands into the substrate. For Ag nanoislands with diameter 15 - 45 nm, the depth of the embedding increases with ion fluence and the nano particles are fully submerged into Si and SiO$_2$ substrate at a fluence of 5*10^14 ions /cm^2 without any mixing. Au nanoparticles (diameter 6 - 20 nm), upon ion irradiation, forms embedded gold-silicide in the case of Si substrate and show lack of mixing and silicide formation in the case of SiO2 substrate system.

Au nanoparticles, prepared by thermal evaporation under high vacuum condition on Si substrate, are irradiated with Au ions at different ion energies. During ion irradiation, embedding of nanoparticles as well as ejection of nano-clusters is observed. Ejected particles (usually smaller than those on the Si substrate) due to sputtering are collected on carbon-coated transmission electron microscopy (TEM) grids. Both the TEM grids and the ion-irradiated samples are analyzed with TEM. Unirradiated as well as irradiated samples are also analyzed by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS). In the case of low energy (32 keV) ions, where the nuclear energy loss is dominant, both sputtering and embedding are less compared to medium energy (1.5 MeV). In the high energy regime (100 MeV), where the electronic energy loss is dominant, sputtering is maximum but practically there is no embedding. Ion bombardment of surfaces at an angle with respect to the surface-normal produces enhanced embedding compared to normal-incidence bombardment. The depth of embedding increases with larger angle of incidence. Au nanoparticles after ion irradiation form embedded gold-silicide. Size distribution of the sputtered Au clusters on the TEM grids for different ion energy regimes are presented.

Anomalous Hall effect shows that the charge carriers (electrons) are spin polarized and participate in the observed ferromagnetic behavior.
