The protection of confidential information is a global issue and block encryption algorithms are the most reliable option. The famous information theorist, Claude Shannon has given two desirable characteristics that should exist in a strong cipher which are substitution and permutation in their fundamental research on Communication Theory of Secrecy Systems. block ciphers strictly follow the substitution and permutation principle to generate a ciphertext. The actual strength of the block ciphers against several attacks is entirely based on its substitution characteristic, which is gained by using the S-Box. In the current literature, algebraic structure-based and chaos-based techniques are highly used for the construction of S-boxes because both these techniques have favourable features for S-box construction, but also various attacks of these techniques have been identified. True randomness has been universally recognized as the ideal method for cipher primitives design because true random numbers are unpredictable, irreversible, and unreproducible. The basic concept of the proposed technique is the extraction of true random bits from underwater acoustic waves and to design a novel technique for the dynamic generation of S-boxes using the chain of knights tour. The proposed method satisfies all standard evaluation tests of S-boxes construction and true random numbers generation. Two million bits have been analyzed using the NIST randomness test suite, and the results show that underwater sound waves are an impeccable entropy source for true randomness. Additionally, our dynamically generated S-boxes have better or equal strength, over the latest published S-boxes (2020 to 2021). According to our knowledge first time, this type of research has been done, in which natural randomness of underwater acoustic waves has been used for the construction of block cipher's S-Box

Due to the unavailability of nationally representative data on time use, a systematic analysis of the gender gap in unpaid household and care work has not been undertaken in the context of India. The present paper, using the recent Time Use Survey (2019) data, examines the socioeconomic and demographic factors associated with variation in time spent on unpaid household and care work among men and women. It analyses how much of the gender gap in the time allocated to unpaid work can be explained by differences in these factors. The findings show that women spend much higher time compared to men in unpaid household and care work. The decomposition results reveal that differences in socioeconomic and demographic factors between men and women do not explain most of the gender gap in unpaid household work. Our results indicate that unobserved gender norms and practices most crucially govern the allocation of unpaid work within Indian households.

The Latent heat storage technology is being used worldwide to bridge the gap between supply and demand of energy. The material store energy during the charging process (melting) and releases energy during the discharging process (solidification). In spite of having various advantages such as high storage energy density, it suffers from the fact that most Phase Change Materials (PCMs) commonly used have a very low thermal conductivity, hence, very slow charging /discharging times. In the current work, a shell and tube type heat exchanger with phase change material on the shell side and heat transfer fluid on the tube side are considered. The effect of flow rate and inlet temperature of heat transfer fluid on melting and solidification times are investigated with single and double pass (counter and parallel) arrangements of Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF). The major difficulty encountered in the melting of the PCM is the accumulation of solid (unmelted) part at the bottom during the charging process, while the liquid part remains at the top during the discharging process, which decreases the efficiency of the system to quite a great extent. In this study, an attempt has been made to improve the efficiency of the system by considering two configurations (double and triple tube) of the shell and tube heat exchanger and it is found that the latter case has better performance.

Chronic alcoholism is correlated with medical, behavioral, and psychological problems including brain cell damage. However, probiotics such as Lactobacillus Plantarum has shown the promising result in soothing the human brain. This report, using the Confocal-IPR technique, nano to submicron scale structural abnormalities of the glial cells and the nuclei of alcoholic mice brain in the presence of probiotics. The increase in the structural disorder of alcoholic brain cells while the decrease or normalcy in the structural disorder of brain cells of mice fed with probiotics and alcohol simultaneously indicates that alcohol stimulates probiotics and enhances brain function.

Molecular specific photonic localization is a sensitive technique to probe the structural alterations or abnormalities in a cell such as abnormalities due to alcohol or other drugs. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy by mother, or fetal alcoholism, is one of the major factors of mental retardation in children. Fetal alcohol syndrome and alcohol related neurodevelopmental disorder are awful outcomes of the maternal alcohol consumption linked with notable cognitive and behavioral defects. Alcohol consumed by the pregnant mother, being teratogenic, interferes with the fetal health resulting brain damage and other birth defects. This might affect the brain cells at the very nanolevel which cannot be predicted by the present histopathological procedures. We perform quantification of nanoscale spatial structural alterations in two different spatial molecular components, DNA and histone molecular mass densities, in brain cell nuclei of fetal alcohol effected (FAE) pups at postnatal day 60. Confocal images of the brain cells are collected and the degree of morphological alterations in DNA and histone, in terms of mass density fluctuations are obtained using the recently developed molecular specific light or photonic localization analysis technique. The results show an increase in degree of spatial structural disorder in DNA and a reduced histone modification. Increase in spatial disorder in DNA may suggest DNA unwinding and possibly responsible for increase in gene expression. Reduced histone modification may suggest its release from the DNA and help in the unwinding of DNA and gene expression. The probable cause for structural disorder as well as opposite rearrangements for DNA and histone molecules in fetal alcohol effects is also discussed.

We use the continuity and momentum equations for cold inertial electrons, Boltzmann law for inertialess hot electrons, non-isothermal density distribution for hot ions, and Poisson's equation to derive an energy integral with a modified Sagdeev potential (MSP) for nonlinear EAWs. The MSP is analyzed to demonstrate the existence of arbitrary amplitude EA solitary pulses (EASPs) and EA double layers (EA-DLs). Small amplitude limits have also been considered and analytical results for EASPs and EA-DLs are presented. The implication of our results to space and laboratory plasmas is briely discussed.

The generation of Rossby rogue waves (Rossby rogons), as well as the excitation of bright and dark Rossby envelpe solitons are demonstrated on the basis of the modulational instability (MI) of a coherent Rossby wave packet. The evolution of an amplitude modulated Rossby wave packet is governed by one-dimensional (1D) nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE). The latter is used to study the amplitude modulation of Rossby wave packets for fluids in Earth's atmosphere and in the solar photosphere. It is found that an ampitude modulated Rossby wave packet becomes stable (unstable) against quasi-stationary, long wavelength (in comparision with the Rossby wave length) perturbations, when the carrier Rossby wave number satisfies $k^2 < 1/2$ or $\sqrt{2}+1<k^2<3$ ($k^2 >3$ or $1/2<k^2<\sqrt{2}+1$). It is also shown that a Rossby rogon or a bright Rossby envelope soliton may be excited in the shallow water approximation for the Rossby waves in solar photosphere. However, the excitation of small or large scale perturbations may be possible for magnetized plasmas in the ionosphereic $E-$layer.

However, the perturbations with both positive and negative potentials may exist when dusts are negatively charged. The results may be useful for the excitation of SWS in laboratory negative ion plasmas as well as for observation in space plasmas where charged dusts may be positively or negatively charged.

By means of particle simulations of the equations of motion for ions interacting among themselves under the influence of newly discovered Shukla-Eliasson attractive force (SEAF) in a dense quantum plasma, we demonstrate that the SEAF can bring ions closer at atomic dimensions. We present simulation results of the dynamics of an ensemble of ions in the presence of the SEAF without and with confining external potentials and collisions between the ions and degenerate electrons. Our particle simulations reveal that under the SEAF, ions attract each other, come closer and form ionic clusters in the bath of degenerate electrons that shield the ions. Furthermore, an external confining potential produces robust ion clusters that can have cigar-like and ball-like shapes, which remain stable when the confining potential is removed. The stability of ion clusters is discussed. Our results may have applications to solid density plasmas (density exceeding $10^{23}$ per cubic centimeters), where the electrons will be degenerate and quantum forces due to the electron recoil effect caused by the overlap** of electron wave functions and electron tunneling through the Bohm potential, electron-exchange and electron-exchange and electron correlations associated with electron-1/2 spin effect, and the quantum statistical pressure of the degenerate electrons play a decisive role.

We present a generalized nonlinear theory for large amplitude electrostatic (ES) ion shocks in collisional quantum plasmas composed of mildly coupled degenerate electron fluids of arbitrary degeneracy and non-degenerate strongly correlated ion fluids with arbitrary atomic number. For our purposes, we use the inertialess electron momentum equation including the electrostatic, pressure gradient and relevant quantum forces, as well as a generalized viscoelastic momentum (GVEM) equation for strongly correlated non-degenerate ions. The ion continuity equation, in the quasi-neutral approximation, then closes our nonlinear system of equations. When the electric field is eliminated from the GVEM equation by using the inertialess electron momentum equation, we then obtain a generalized GVEM and the ion continuity equations exhibiting nonlinear couplings between the ion number density and the ion fluid velocity. The pair of nonlinear equations is numerically solved to study the dynamics of arbitrary large amplitudes planar and non-planar ES shocks arising from the balance between harmonic generation nonlinearities and the ion fluid viscosity for a wide range of the plasma mass-density and the ion atomic-number that are relevant for the cores of giant planets (viz. the Jupiter) and compact stars (viz. white dwarfs). Our numerical results reveal that the ES shock density profiles strongly depend on the plasma number density and composition (the atomic-number) parameters. Furthermore, density perturbations propagate with Mach numbers which significantly dependent on the studied plasma fractional parameters. It is concluded that the dynamics of the ES shocks in the super-dense degenerate plasma is quite different in the core of a white dwarf star from that in the lower density crust region.

The dynamics of the modulated drift wave packet is governed by a nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The latter is used to study the modulational instability of a Stoke's wave train to a small longitudinal perturbation. It is shown that the drift wave packet is stable (unstable) against the modulation when the drift wave number lies in $0< k < 1/\sqrt{2}$ $(1/\sqrt{2}<k<1)$. Thus, the modulated drift wave packet can propagate in the form of bright and dark envelope solitons or as a drift wave rogon.

For this purpose, we use a generalized hydrodynamic model for the strongly coupled dust grains, accounting for arbitrary large amplitude dust number density compressions and potential distributions associated with fully nonlinear nonstationary DA waves. Time-dependent numerical solutions of our nonlinear model compare favorably well with the recent experimental works (mentioned above) that have reported the formation of large amplitude non-stationary DA shocks and DA solitary pulses in low-temperature dusty plasma discharges.

We present a nonlinear theory for relativistic X-ray free electron lasers in the quantum regime, using a collective Klein-Gordon (KG) equation (for relativistic electrons), which is coupled with the Maxwell-Poisson equations for the electromagnetic and electrostatic fields. In our model, an intense electromagnetic wave is used as a wiggler which interacts with a relativistic electron beam to produce coherent tunable radiation. The KG-Maxwell-Poisson model is used to derive a general nonlinear dispersion relation for parametric instabilities in three-space-dimensions, including an arbitrarily large amplitude electromagnetic wiggler field. The nonlinear dispersion relation reveals the importance of quantum recoil effects and oblique scattering of the radiation that can be tuned by varying the beam energy.

We report new attractive force between ions that are shielded by degenerate electrons in quantum plasmas. Specifically, we show that the electric potential around an isolated ion has a hard core negative part that resembles the Lennard-Jones (LJ)-type potential. Physically, the new electric potential is attributed to the consideration of the quantum statistical pressure, the quantum Bohm potential, as well as the electron exchange and electron correlations due to electron-1/2 spin within the framework of the quantum hydrodynamical description of quantum plasmas. The shape of the attractive potential is determined by the ratio between the Bohr radius and the Wigner-Seitz radius of degenerate electrons. The existence of the hard core negative potential will be responsible for the attraction of ions forming lattices and atoms/molecules, as well as for critical points and phase transitions in quantum plasmas at nanoscales.

We study the nonlinear propagation of electrostatic wave packets in a collisional plasma composed of strongly coupled ions and relativistically degenerate electrons. The equilibrium of ions is maintained by an effective temperature associated with their strong coupling, whereas that of electrons is provided by the relativistic degeneracy pressure. Using a multiple scale technique, a (3+1)-dimensional coupled set of nonlinear Schrödinger-like equations with nonlocal nonlinearity is derived from a generalized viscoelastic hydrodynamic model. These coupled equations, which govern the dynamics of wave packets, are used to study the oblique modulational instability of a Stoke's wave train to a small plane wave perturbation. We show that the wave packets, though stable to the parallel modulation, becomes unstable against oblique modulations. In contrast to the long-wavelength carrier modes, the wave packets with short-wavelengths are shown to be stable in the weakly relativistic case, whereas they can be stable or unstable in the ultra-relativistic limit. Numerical simulation of the coupled equations reveals that a steady state solution of the wave amplitude exists together with the formation of a localized structure in (2+1) dimensions. However, in the (3+1)-dimensional evolution, a Gaussian wave beam self-focuses after interaction and blows up in a finite time. The latter is, however, arrested when the dispersion predominates over the nonlinearities. This occurs when the Coulomb coupling strength is higher or a choice of obliqueness of modulation, or a wavelength of excitation is different. Possible application of our results to the interior as well as in an outer mantle of white dwarfs are discussed.

The nonlinear interaction between intense laser light and a quantum plasma is modeled by a collective Dirac equation coupled with the Maxwell equations. The model is used to study the nonlinear propagation of relativistically intense laser light in a quantum plasma including the electron spin-1/2 effect. The relativistic effects due to the high-intensity laser light lead, in general, to a downshift of the laser frequency, similar to a classical plasma where the relativistic mass increase leads to self-induced transparency of laser light and other associated effects. The electron spin-1/2 effects lead to a frequency up- or downshift of the electromagnetic (EM) wave, depending on the spin state of the plasma and the polarization of the EM wave. For laboratory solid density plasmas, the spin-1/2 effects on the propagation of light are small, but they may be significant in super-dense plasma in the core of white dwarf stars. We also discuss extensions of the model to include kinetic effects of a distribution of the electrons on the nonlinear propagation of EM waves in a quantum plasma.

We consider the nonlinear propagation of electrostatic wave packets in an ultra-relativistic (UR) degenerate dense electron-ion plasma, whose dynamics is governed by the nonlocal two-dimensional nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger-like equations. The coupled set of equations are then used to study the modulational instability (MI) of a uniform wave train to an infinitesimal perturbation of multi-dimensional form. The condition for the MI is obtained, and it is shown that the nondimensional parameter, $β\proptoλ_C n_0^{1/3}$ (where $λ_C$ is the reduced Compton wavelength and $n_0$ is the particle number density), associated with the UR pressure of degenerate electrons, shifts the stable (unstable) regions at $n_{0}\sim10^{30}$ cm$^{-3}$ to unstable (stable) ones at higher densities, i.e. $n_{0}\gtrsim7\times10^{33}$. It is also found that {the} higher the values of $n_{0}$, the lower is the growth rate of MI with cut-offs at lower wave numbers of modulation. Furthermore, the dynamical evolution of the wave packets is studied numerically. We show that either they disperse away or they blowup in a finite time, when the wave action is below or above the threshold. The results could be useful for understanding the properties of modulated wave packets and their multi-dimensional evolution in UR degenerate dense plasmas, such as those in the interior of white dwarfs {and/or} pre-Supernova stars.

We investigate the nonlinear interaction between a relativistically strong laser beam and a plasma in the quantum regime. The collective behavior of the electrons is modeled by a Klein-Gordon equation, which is nonlinearly coupled with the electromagnetic wave through the Maxwell and Poisson equations. This allows us to study the nonlinear interaction between arbitrarily large amplitude electromagnetic waves and a quantum plasma. We have used our system of nonlinear equations to study theoretically the parametric instabilities involving stimulated Raman scattering and modulational instabilities. A model for quasi-steady state propagating electromagnetic wavepackets is also derived, and which shows the possibility of localized solitary structures in the quantum plasma. Numerical simulations demonstrate the collapse and acceleration of the electrons in the nonlinear stage of the modulational instability, as well as the possibility of wake-field acceleration of the electrons to relativistic speeds by short laser pulses at nanometer length scales. The study has importance for the nonlinear interaction between a super-intense X-ray laser light and a solid-density plasma, where quantum effects are important.

The excitation of electrostatic wakefields in a magnetized spin quantum plasma by the classical as well as the spin-induced ponderomotive force (CPF and SPF, respectively) due to whistler waves is reported. The nonlinear dynamics of the whistlers and the wakefields is shown to be governed by a coupled set of nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) and driven Boussinesq-like equations. It is found that the quantum force associated with the Bohm potential introduces two characteristic length scales, which lead to the excitation of multiple wakefields in a strongly magnetized dense plasma (with a typical magnetic field strength $B_{0}\gtrsim10^{9}$ T and particle density $n_{0}\gtrsim10^{36}$ m$^{-3}$), where the SPF strongly dominates over the CPF. In other regimes, namely $B_{0}\lesssim10^{8}$ T and $\ n_{0}\lesssim10^{35}$ m$^{-3}$, where the SPF is comparable to the CPF, a plasma wakefield can also be excited self-consistently with one characteristic length scale. Numerical results reveal that the wakefield amplitude is enhanced by the quantum tunneling effect, however it is lowered by the external magnetic field. Under appropriate conditions, the wakefields can maintain high coherence over multiple plasma wavelengths and thereby accelerate electrons to extremely high energies. The results could be useful for particle acceleration at short scales, i.e. at nano- and micrometer scales, in magnetized dense plasmas where the driver is the whistler wave instead of a laser or a particle beam.

The current understanding of some important nonlinear collective processes in quantum plasmas with degenerate electrons is presented. After reviewing the basic properties of quantum plasmas, we present model equations (e.g. the quantum hydrodynamic and effective nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson equations) that describe collective nonlinear phenomena at nanoscales. The effects of the electron degeneracy arise due to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and Pauli's exclusion principle for overlap** electron wavefunctions that result in tunneling of electrons and the electron degeneracy pressure. Since electrons are Fermions (spin-1/2), there also appears an electron spin current and a spin force acting on electrons due to the Bohr magnetization. The quantum effects produce new aspects of electrostatic (ES) and electromagnetic (EM) waves in a quantum plasma that are summarized in here. Furthermore, we discuss nonlinear features of ES ion waves and electron plasma oscillations (ESOs), as well as the trap** of intense EM waves in quantum electron density cavities. Specifically, simulation studies of the coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) and Poisson equations reveal the formation and dynamics of localized ES structures at nanoscales in a quantum plasma. We also discuss the effect of an external magnetic field on the plasma wave spectra and develop quantum magnetohydrodynamic (Q-MHD) equations. The results are useful for understanding numerous collective phenomena in quantum plasmas, such as those in compact astrophysical objects, in plasma-assisted nanotechnology, and in the next-generation of intense laser-solid density plasma interaction experiments.

Wave-wave interaction in plasmas is a topic of important research since the 16th century. The formation of Langmuir solitons through the coupling of high-frequency (hf) Langmuir and low-frequency (lf) ion-acoustic waves, is one of the most interesting features in the context of turbulence in modern plasma physics. Moreover, quantum plasmas, which are ubiquitous in ultrasmall electronic devices, micromechanical systems as well as in dense astrophysical environments are a topic of current research. In the light of notable interests in such quantum plasmas, we present here a theoretical investigation on the nonlinear interaction of quantum Langmuir waves (QLWs) and quantum ion-acoustic waves (QIAWs), which are governed by the one-dimensional quantum Zakharov equations (QZEs). It is shown that a transition to spatiotemporal chaos (STC) occurs when the length scale of excitation of linear modes is larger than that of the most unstable ones. Such length scale is, however, to be larger (compared to the classical one) in presence of the quantum tunneling effect. The latter induces strong QIAW emission leading to the occurrence of collision and fusion among the patterns at an earlier time than the classical case. Moreover, numerical simulation of the QZEs reveals that many solitary patterns can be excited and saturated through the modulational instability (MI) of unstable harmonic modes. In a longer time, these solitons are seen to appear in the state of STC due to strong QIAW emission as well as by the collision and fusion in stochastic motion. The energy in the system is thus strongly redistributed, which may switch on the onset of Langmuir turbulence in quantum plasmas.

The nonlinear propagation of electromagnetic (EM) electron-cyclotron waves (whistlers) along an external magnetic field, and their modulation by electrostatic small but finite amplitude ion-acoustic density perturbations are investigated in a uniform quantum plasma with intrinsic spin of electrons. The effects of the quantum force associated with the Bohm potential and the combined effects of the classical as well as the spin-induced ponderomotive forces (CPF and SPF respectively) are taken into consideration. The latter modify the local plasma density in a self-consistent manner. The coupled modes of wave propagation is shown to be governed by a modified set of nonlinear Schrödinger-Boussinesq-like equations which admit exact solutions in form of stationary localized envelopes. Numerical simulation reveals the existence of large-scale density fluctuations that are self-consistently created by the localized whistlers in a strongly magnetized high density plasma. The conditions for the modulational instability (MI) and the value of its growth rate are obtained. Previous results in the literature are modified and rectified. Periodic, chaotic as well as hyperchaotic behaviors of the Fourier-mode amplitudes are identified by the analysis of Lyapunov exponent spectra and the power spectrum. The periodic route to chaos is explained through an one-parameter bifurcation analysis. The system is shown to be destabilized via a supercritical Hopf-bifurcation. A simulation study is performed to investigate the dynamics of coupled Langmuir waves (LWs) and ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma. The effects of dispersion due to charge separation and the density nonlinearity associated with the IAWs, are considered to modify the properties of Langmuir solitons, as well as to model the dynamics of relatively large amplitude wave envelopes. It is found that the Langmuir wave electric field, indeed, increases by the effect of ion-wave nonlinearity (IWN). Use of a low-dimensional model, based on three Fourier modes shows that a transition to temporal chaos is possible, when the length scale of the linearly excited modes is larger than that of the most unstable ones. The chaotic behaviors of the unstable modes are identified by the analysis of Lyapunov exponent spectra. The space-time evolution of the coupled LWs and IAWs shows that the IWN can cause the excitation of many unstable harmonic modes, and can lead to strong IAW emission. This occurs when the initial wave field is relatively large or the length scale of IAWs is larger than the soliton characteristic size. Numerical simulation also reveals that many solitary patterns can be excited and generated through the modulational instability (MI) of unstable harmonic modes. As time goes on, these solitons are seen to appear in the spatially partial coherence (SPC) state due to the free ion-acoustic radiation as well as in the state of spatiotemporal chaos (STC) due to collision and fusion in the stochastic motion. The latter results the redistribution of initial wave energy into a few modes with small length scales, which may lead to the onset of Langmuir turbulence in laboratory as well as space plasmas.

The nonlinear propagation of two-dimensional (2D) quantum ion-acoustic waves (QIAWs) is studied in a quantum electron-ion plasma. By using a 2D quantum hydrodynamic model and the method of multiple scales, a new set of coupled nonlinear partial differential equations is derived which governs the slow modulation of the 2D QIAW packets. The oblique modulational instability (MI) is then studied by means of a corresponding nonlinear Schroedinger equation derived from the coupled nonlinear partial differential equations. It is shown that the quantum parameter H (proportional to $\hbar$), associated with the Bohm potential, shifts the MI domains around the $kθ$-plane, where $k$ is the carrier wave number and $θ$ is the angle of modulation. In particular, the ion-acoustic wave (IAW), previously known to be stable under parallel modulation in classical plasmas, is shown to be unstable in quantum plasmas. The growth rate of the MI is found to be quenched by the obliqueness of modulation. The modulation of 2D QIAW packets along $\mathbf{k}$ is shown to be described by a set of Davey-Stewartson-like equations. The latter can be studied for the 2D wave collapse in dense plasmas. The predicted results, which could be important to look for stable wave propagation in laboratory experiments as well as in dense astrophysical plasmas, thus generalize the theory of MI of IAW propagations both in classical and quantum electron-ion plasmas.

By means of a Madelung decomposition, exact periodic traveling solutions are constructed for a modified nonlinear Schrodinger equation derived by Stenflo and Gradov, describing electrostatic surface waves in semi-infinite plasma. The condition for the existence of bi-stable equilibria is discussed. A conservation law as well as the modulational instability admitted by the model are analyzed.

The instability and nonlinear evolution of directional ocean waves is investigated numerically by means of simulations of the governing kinetic equation for narrow-band surface waves. Our simulation results reveal the onset of the modulational instability for long-crested wave-trains, which agrees well with recent large-scale experiments in wave-basins, where it was found that narrower directional spectra leads to self-focusing of ocean waves and an enhanced probability of extreme events. We find that the modulational instability is nonlinearly saturated by a broadening of the wave-spectrum, which leads to the stabilization of the water-wave system. Applications of our results to other fields of physics, such as nonlinear optics and plasma physics are discussed.

We present a derivation of the dispersion relation for electrostatic oscillations (ESOs) in a zero temperature quantum plasma. We present a derivation of the dispersion relation for electrostatic oscillations (ESOs) in a zero temperature quantum plasma. In the latter, degenerate electrons are governed by the Wigner equation, while non-degenerate ions follow the classical fluid equations. The Poisson equation determines the electrostatic wave potential. We consider parameters ranging from semiconductor plasmas to metallic plasmas and electron densities of compressed matter such as in laser-compression schemes and dense astrophysical objects. Due to the wave diffraction caused by overlap** electron wave function due to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle in dense plasmas, we have possibility of Landau dam** of the high-frequency electron plasma oscillations (EPOs) at large enough wavenumbers. The exact dispersion relations for the EPOs are solved numerically and compared to the ones obtained by using approximate formulas for the electron susceptibility in the high- and low-frequency cases.

Abstract:
We present numerical simulations of fully nonlinear drift wave-zonal flow (DW-ZF) turbulence systems in a nonuniform magnetoplasma. In our model, the drift wave (DW) dynamics is pseudo-three-dimensional (pseudo-3D) and accounts for self-interactions among finite amplitude DWs and their coupling to the two-dimensional (2D) large amplitude zonal flows (ZFs). The dynamics of the 2D ZFs in the prese…

The dynamics of the 2D ZFs in the presence of the Reynolds stress of the pseudo-3D DWs is governed by the driven Euler equation. Numerical simulations of the fully nonlinear coupled DW-ZF equations reveal that shortscale DW turbulence leads to nonlinear saturated dipolar vortices, whereas the ZF sets in spontaneously and is dominated by a monopolar vortex structure. The ZFs are found to suppress the cross-field turbulent particle transport. The present results provide a better model for understanding the coexistence of short- and large-scale coherent structures, as well as associated subdued cross-field particle transport in magnetically confined fusion plasmas.

Abstract:
On the basis of recent investigations, a newly developed analytical procedure is used for constructing a wide class of localized solutions of the controlled three-dimensional (3D) Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE) that governs the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). On the basis of recent investigations, a newly developed analytical procedure is used for constructing a wide class of localized solutions of the controlled three-dimensional (3D) Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE) that governs the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). The controlled 3D GPE is decomposed into a two-dimensional (2D) linear Schrödinger equation and a one-dimensional (1D) nonlinear Schrödinger equation, constrained by a variational condition for the controlling potential. Then, the above class of localized solutions are constructed as the product of the solutions of the transverse and longitudinal equations. On the basis of these exact 3D analytical solutions, a stability analysis is carried out, focusing our attention on the physical conditions for having collapsing or non-collapsing solutions.

For this purpose, the reductive perturbation method is employed to the quantum hydrodynamical equations and the Poisson equation, obtaining extended quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation. The latter has been solved using the generalized expansion method to obtain a set of analytical solutions, which reflect the possibility of the propagation of various nonlinear structures. The relevance of the present investigation to the white dwarfs is highlighted.
