We propose a cloud-based multimodal dialog platform for the remote assessment and monitoring of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at scale. This paper presents our vision, technology setup, and an initial investigation of the efficacy of the various acoustic and visual speech metrics automatically extracted by the platform. 82 healthy controls and 54 people with ALS (pALS) were instructed to interact with the platform and completed a battery of speaking tasks designed to probe the acoustic, articulatory, phonatory, and respiratory aspects of their speech. We find that multiple acoustic (rate, duration, voicing) and visual (higher order statistics of the jaw and lip) speech metrics show statistically significant differences between controls, bulbar symptomatic and bulbar pre-symptomatic patients. We report on the sensitivity and specificity of these metrics using five-fold cross-validation. We further conducted a LASSO-LARS regression analysis to uncover the relative contributions of various acoustic and visual features in predicting the severity of patients' ALS (as measured by their self-reported ALSFRS-R scores). Our results provide encouraging evidence of the utility of automatically extracted audiovisual analytics for scalable remote patient assessment and monitoring in ALS.

Abstract:
In the framework of the effective low-energy model for High-$T_c$ cuprates with account for three-centers interaction terms and spin fluctuations the properties of normal and superconducting phases of p- and n-type cuprates are investigated. Microscopic model parameters were obtained from ARPES data on undoped compounds. Obtained evolution of the chemical potential with do**, Fermi Surface at…

Obtained evolution of the chemical potential with do**, Fermi Surface at optimal do**, and $T_c(x)$ phase diagram for n-type cuprates are in remarkably good agreement with the experiment. It is shown that the spin-exciton mechanism due to singlet-triplet hybridization takes place in p-type, although it is too small to reproduce observed qualitative difference between p- and n-type cuprates.

Abstract:
In the present work the multiband p-d model for $CuO_2$-layer is treated. It was shown that for the realistic set of parameters besides Zhang-Rice two-particle singlet there is non-negligible contribution of two-particle triplet state to the top of the valence band. In the present work the multiband p-d model for $CuO_2$-layer is treated. It was shown that for the realistic set of parameters besides Zhang-Rice two-particle singlet there is non-negligible contribution of two-particle triplet state to the top of the valence band. Also shown, that to gain quantitative agreement with experimental data the minimal approximation should include the spin fluctuations beyond the Hubbard-I scheme. Quasiparticle spectrum, obtained in this approximation, is in fairly good agreement with ARPES data on Bi2212 High-$T_c$ compound.
