Most current classifiers are vulnerable to adversarial examples, small input perturbations that change the classification output. Many existing attack algorithms cover various settings, from white-box to black-box classifiers, but typically assume that the answers are deterministic and often fail when they are not. We therefore propose a new adversarial decision-based attack specifically designed for classifiers with probabilistic outputs. It is based on the HopSkipJump attack by Chen et al. (2019, arXiv:1904.02144v5 ), a strong and query efficient decision-based attack originally designed for deterministic classifiers. Our P(robabilisticH)opSkipJump attack adapts its amount of queries to maintain HopSkipJump's original output quality across various noise levels, while converging to its query efficiency as the noise level decreases. We test our attack on various noise models, including state-of-the-art off-the-shelf randomized defenses, and show that they offer almost no extra robustness to decision-based attacks. Code is available at https://github.com/cjsg/PopSkipJump .

{.2in} {\small {\bf Abstract.} Due to the extra degrees of freedom, special affine Fourier transform (SAFT) has achieved a respectable status within a short span and got versatile applicability in the areas of signal processing, image processing, sampling theory, quantum mechanics. However, due to its global kernel, SAFT fails to obtain local information of non-transient signals. To overcome this, we in this paper introduce the concept of novel special affine wavelet transform (NSAWT) and extend key harmonic analysis results to NSAWT analogous to those for the wavelet transform. We first establish some fundamental properties including Moyal's principle, Inversion formula and the range theorem. Some Heisenberg type inequalities and Pitt's inequality are established for SAFT and consequently Heisenberg uncertainity principle is derived for NSAWT.

In this paper, we show how to construct an orthonormal basis from Riesz basis by assuming that the fractional translates of a single function in the core subspace of the fractional multiresolution analysis form a Riesz basis instead of an orthonormal basis. In the definition of fractional multiresolution analysis, we show that the intersection triviality condition follows from the other conditions. Furthermore, we show that the union density condition also follows under the assumption that the fractional Fourier transform of the scaling function is continuous at $0$. At the culmination, we provide the complete characterization of the scaling functions associated with fractional multiresolutrion analysis.

The fractional Fourier transform (FrFT), which is a generalization of the Fourier transform, has become the focus of many research papers in recent years because of its applications in electrical engineering and optics. In this paper, we introduce the notion of fractional biorthogonal wavelets on $\mathbb{R}$ and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the translates of a single function to form the fractional Riesz bases for their closed linear span. We also provide a complete characterization for the fractional biorthogonality of the translates of fractional scaling functions of two fractional MRAs and the associated fractional biorthogonal wavelet families. Moreover, under mild assumptions on the fractional scaling functions and the corresponding fractional wavelets, we show that the fractional wavelets can generate Reisz bases for $L^2(\mathbb R).$.

Lifted inference reduces the complexity of inference in relational probabilistic models by identifying groups of constants (or atoms) which behave symmetric to each other. A number of techniques have been proposed in the literature for lifting marginal as well MAP inference. We present the first application of lifting rules for marginal-MAP (MMAP), an important inference problem in models having latent (random) variables. Our main contribution is two fold: (1) we define a new equivalence class of (logical) variables, called Single Occurrence for MAX (SOM), and show that solution lies at extreme with respect to the SOM variables, i.e., predicate groundings differing only in the instantiation of the SOM variables take the same truth value (2) we define a sub-class {\em SOM-R} (SOM Reduce) and exploit properties of extreme assignments to show that MMAP inference can be performed by reducing the domain of SOM-R variables to a single constant. We refer to our lifting technique as the {\em SOM-R} rule for lifted MMAP. Combined with existing rules such as decomposer and binomial, this results in a powerful framework for lifted MMAP. Experiments on three benchmark domains show significant gains in both time and memory compared to ground inference as well as lifted approaches not using SOM-R.

Wavelet frames have become a useful tool in time freqency analysis and image processing. Many authors worked in the field of wavelet frames and obtained various necessary and sufficient conditions. Ron and Shen [17] gave a charactarization of wavelet frames. Benedetto and Treiber [3], Ron and Shen [17] presented different presentations to the wavelet frames. Any function $f \in L^2(R)$ can be expanded as an orthonormal wavelet series and pointwise convergence and uniform convergence of series have been discussed extensively by various authors [9, 17]. In this paper we investigate the pointwise convergence of orthogonal wavelet series in Pringscheim's sense. Furthermore, we investigate Cesaro $|C,1,1|$ summability and the strong Cesaro $|C,1,1|$ summability of wavelet series.
