Large language models (LLMs) have profoundly transformed natural language applications, with a growing reliance on instruction-based definitions for designing chatbots. However, post-deployment the chatbot definitions are fixed and are vulnerable to attacks by malicious users, emphasizing the need to prevent unethical applications and financial losses. Existing studies explore user prompts' impact on LLM-based chatbots, yet practical methods to contain attacks on application-specific chatbots remain unexplored. This paper presents System Prompt Meta Language (SPML), a domain-specific language for refining prompts and monitoring the inputs to the LLM-based chatbots. SPML actively checks attack prompts, ensuring user inputs align with chatbot definitions to prevent malicious execution on the LLM backbone, optimizing costs. It also streamlines chatbot definition crafting with programming language capabilities, overcoming natural language design challenges. Additionally, we introduce a groundbreaking benchmark with 1.8k system prompts and 20k user inputs, offering the inaugural language and benchmark for chatbot definition evaluation. Experiments across datasets demonstrate SPML's proficiency in understanding attacker prompts, surpassing models like GPT-4, GPT-3.5, and LLAMA. Our data and codes are publicly available at: https://prompt-compiler.github.io/SPML/.

We explicitly describe all inner derivations of these group algebras over an arbitrary field. Finally, we classify all derivations of the above group algebras when $\mathbb{F}$ is an algebraic extension of a prime field.

This article explores additive codes with one-rank hull, offering key insights and constructions. The article introduces a novel approach to finding one-rank hull codes over finite fields by establishing a connection between self-orthogonal elements and solutions of quadratic forms. It also provides a precise count of self-orthogonal elements for any duality over the finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$, particularly odd primes. Additionally, construction methods for small rank hull codes are introduced. The highest possible minimum distance among additive one-rank hull codes is denoted by $d_1[n,k]_{p^e,M}$. The value of $d_1[n,k]_{p^e,M}$ for $k=1,2$ and $n\geq 2$ with respect to any duality $M$ over any finite field $\mathbb{F}_{p^e}$ is determined. Furthermore, the new quaternary one-rank hull codes are identified over non-symmetric dualities with better parameters than symmetric ones.

In this work, we explore the possibility that Early Dark Energy (EDE) is dynamical in nature and study its effect on cosmological observables. We introduce a parameterization of the equation of state allowing for an equation of state $w$ differing considerably from cosmological constant (cc, $w={-1}$) and vary both the initial $w_i$ as well final $w_f$ equation of state of the EDE fluid. This idea is motivated by the fact that in many models of EDE, the scalar field may have some kinetic energy when it starts to behave like EDE before the CMB decoupling. We find that the present data have a mild preference for non-cc early dark energy $( w_i= -0.78)$ using Planck+BAO+Pantheon+S$H_0$ES data sets, leading to $Δχ^2_{\rm min}$ improvement of -2.5 at the expense of one more parameter. However, $w_i$ is only weakly constrained, with $w_i < -0.56$ at $1σ$. We argue that allowing for $w_i\neq -1$ can play a role in decreasing the $σ_8$ parameter. Yet, in practice the decrease is only $\sim0.4σ$ and $σ_8$ is still larger than weak lensing measurements. We conclude that while promising, a dynamical EDE cannot resolve both $H_0$ and $σ_8$ tensions simultaneously.

We present small-scale structure constraints on sterile dark matter produced from a heavy mediator particle, inspired by models of moduli decay. Dark matter particles produced through this mechanism can contribute to the entire dark matter energy density but the particles have a non-thermal phase-space distribution; however, we show that the resulting linear matter power spectra can be mapped to effective thermal-relic warm dark matter models. This production mechanism is therefore subject to warm dark matter constraints from small-scale structure as probed by ultra-faint dwarf galaxy abundances and strong gravitational lensing flux ratio statistics. We use the correspondence to thermal-relic models to derive a lower bound on the non-thermal particle mass of $107\ \mathrm{keV}$, at $95\%$ confidence. These are the first and most stringent constraints derived on sterile dark matter produced via the heavy mediator decay scenario we consider.

The applications of additive codes mainly lie in quantum error correction and quantum computing. Due to their applications in quantum codes, additive codes have grown in importance. In addition to this, additive codes allow the implementation of a variety of dualities. The article begins by develo** the properties of Additive Complementary Dual (ACD) codes with respect to arbitrary dualities over finite abelian groups. Further, we introduce a subclass of non-symmetric dualities referred to as skew-symmetric dualities. Then, we precisely count symmetric and skew-symmetric dualities over finite fields. Two conditions have been obtained: one is a necessary and sufficient condition, and the other is a necessary condition. The necessary and sufficient condition is for an additive code to be an ACD code over arbitrary dualities. The necessary condition is on the generator matrix of an ACD code over skew-symmetric dualities. We provide bounds for the highest possible minimum distance of ACD codes over skew-symmetric dualities. Finally, we find some new quaternary ACD codes over non-symmetric dualities with better parameters than the symmetric ones.

The Pandora Software Development Kit and algorithm libraries provide pattern-recognition logic essential to the reconstruction of particle interactions in liquid argon time projection chamber detectors. Pandora is the primary event reconstruction software used at ProtoDUNE-SP, a prototype for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment far detector. ProtoDUNE-SP, located at CERN, is exposed to a charged-particle test beam. This paper gives an overview of the Pandora reconstruction algorithms and how they have been tailored for use at ProtoDUNE-SP. In complex events with numerous cosmic-ray and beam background particles, the simulated reconstruction and identification efficiency for triggered test-beam particles is above 80% for the majority of particle type and beam momentum combinations. Specifically, simulated 1 GeV/$c$ charged pions and protons are correctly reconstructed and identified with efficiencies of 86.1$\pm0.6$% and 84.1$\pm0.6$%, respectively. The efficiencies measured for test-beam data are shown to be within 5% of those predicted by the simulation.

The polycrystalline co-doped samples of Sm0.5Y0.5Fe0.58Mn0.42O3 were prepared by solid-state reaction route and its various physical properties with their correlations have been investigated. The dc magnetization measurements on the sample revealed a weak ferromagnetic (WFM) transition at TN=361 K that is followed by an incomplete spin reorientation (SR) transition at TSR1= 348 K. A first order magnetic transition (FOMT) around 292 K completes the spin reorientation transition and the material enters into a nearly collinear antiferromagnetic (AFM) state for T < 260 K. The compound exhibited magnetization reversal below the compensation temperature (Tcomp) = 92 K at low measured field of 100 Oe. At further low temperature below 71 K, the compound also exhibited Zero-field cooled memory effects confirming a reentrant s**lass state formation. Robust magnetodielectric (MD) magnetoelectric coupling has been established in the present material through field dependent dielectric and resistivity measurements. True ferroelectric transition with a considerable value of saturation polarization (= 0.06 micro C/cm2 at 15 K) have been found in the specimen below TFE= 108 K. We observed an intense spin-phonon coupling (SPC) across TSR and TN from the temperature dependent Raman spectroscopy and is responsible for the intrinsic magnetoelectric effect. This SPC also stabilizes the ferroelectric state below TFE in the material. The delicate interplay of the lattice (Phonons), charge and spins governs the observed features in the investigated physical properties of the material that makes the specimen a promising multifunctional material.

Liquid argon time projection chamber detector technology provides high spatial and calorimetric resolutions on the charged particles traversing liquid argon. As a result, the technology has been used in a number of recent neutrino experiments, and is the technology of choice for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). In order to perform high precision measurements of neutrinos in the detector, final state particles need to be effectively identified, and their energy accurately reconstructed. This article proposes an algorithm based on a convolutional neural network to perform the classification of energy deposits and reconstructed particles as track-like or arising from electromagnetic cascades. Results from testing the algorithm on data from ProtoDUNE-SP, a prototype of the DUNE far detector, are presented. The network identifies track- and shower-like particles, as well as Michel electrons, with high efficiency. The performance of the algorithm is consistent between data and simulation.

Key takeaways are summarized as follows. 1) LArTPCs have unique sensitivity to a range of physics and astrophysics signatures via detection of event features at and below the few tens of MeV range. 2) Low-energy signatures are an integral part of GeV-scale accelerator neutrino interaction final states, and their reconstruction can enhance the oscillation physics sensitivities of LArTPC experiments. 3) BSM signals from accelerator and natural sources also generate diverse signatures in the low-energy range, and reconstruction of these signatures can increase the breadth of BSM scenarios accessible in LArTPC-based searches. 4) Neutrino interaction cross sections and other nuclear physics processes in argon relevant to sub-hundred-MeV LArTPC signatures are poorly understood. Improved theory and experimental measurements are needed. Pion decay-at-rest sources and charged particle and neutron test beams are ideal facilities for experimentally improving this understanding. 5) There are specific calibration needs in the low-energy range, as well as specific needs for control and understanding of radiological and cosmogenic backgrounds. 6) Novel ideas for future LArTPC technology that enhance low-energy capabilities should be explored. These include novel charge enhancement and readout systems, enhanced photon detection, low radioactivity argon, and xenon do**. 7) Low-energy signatures, whether steady-state or part of a supernova burst or larger GeV-scale event topology, have specific triggering, DAQ and reconstruction requirements that must be addressed outside the scope of conventional GeV-scale data collection and analysis pathways.

Cosmologies with Light Massive Relics (LiMRs) as a subdominant component of the dark sector are well-motivated from a particle physics perspective, and can also have implications for the $σ_8$ tension between early and late time probes of matter clustering. The effects of LiMRs on the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and structure formation on large (linear) scales have been investigated extensively. In this paper, we initiate a systematic study of the effects of LiMRs on smaller, nonlinear scales using cosmological $N$-body simulations; focusing on quantities relevant for photometric galaxy surveys. For most of our study, we use a particular model of nonthermal LiMRs but the methods developed easily generalize to a large class of models of LiMRs -- we explicitly demonstrate this by considering the Dodelson-Widrow form of the velocity distribution. We find that, in general, the effects of LiMR on small scales are distinct from those of a $Λ$CDM universe, even when the value of $σ_8$ is matched between the models. We show that weak lensing measurements around massive clusters, between $\sim 0.1 h^{-1}$Mpc and $\sim 10 h^{-1}$Mpc, should have sufficient signal-to-noise in future surveys to distinguish between $Λ$CDM and LiMR models that are tuned to fit both CMB data and large (linear) scale structure data at late times. Furthermore, we find that different LiMR cosmologies which are indistinguishable by conventional linear probes can be distinguished by these probes if their velocity distributions are sufficiently different. LiMR models can, therefore, be best tested and constrained by jointly analyzing data from CMB and late-time structure formation on both large \textit{and} small scales.

Recently there has been reports of finding a lower bound on the neutrino mass parameter ($Σm_ν$) when using ACT and SPTpol data however these bounds on the $Σm_ν$ are still weaker for most case around at 1 $σ$ level. In this context, here in this work, we study the consequences of using an enlarged four parameter dynamical dark energy equation of state on neutrino mass parameter as well as on the Hubble and S8 tensions. The four parameter dark energy equation of state incorporates a generic non-linear monotonic evolution of the dark energy equation of state, where the four parameters are the early and the present value of the equation of state, the transition scale factor and the sharpness of the transition. We report that with lensing-marginalized Planck + BAO + Pantheon and prior on absolute magnitude $M_B$ and KIDS/Viking $S_8$ prior, the model favours a non-zero value for the neutrino mass parameter at the most at $\sim 1 σ$ level ($Σm_ν= 0.1847_{-0.165}^{+0.0698}$ eV). In this case this model also brings down the Hubble tension to $\sim 2.5 σ$ level and the S8 tension to $\sim$ 1.5 $σ$ level. This model also provide a tighter constraints on the value of the dark energy equation of state at present epoch $w_0$ ($w_0 = -0.9901_{-0.0766}^{+0.0561}$) in comparison to the CPL like parameterization.

The $Λ$CDM prediction of $S_8\equivσ_8(Ω_m/0.3)^{0.5}$ -- where $σ_8$ is the root mean square of matter fluctuations on a 8 $h^{-1}$Mpc scale -- once calibrated on Planck CMB data is $2-3σ$ lower than its direct estimate by a number of weak lensing surveys. In this paper, we explore the possibility that the '$S_8$-tension' is due to a non-thermal hot dark matter (HDM) fractional contribution to the universe energy density leading to a power suppression at small-scales in the matter power spectrum. Any HDM models can be characterized by its effective mass $ m_{sp}^{\rm eff}$ and its contribution to the relativistic degrees of freedom at CMB decoupling $ΔN_{\rm eff}$. Taking the specific example of a sterile particle produced from the decay of the inflaton during a matter dominated era, we find that from Planck only the tension can be reduced below $2σ$, but Planck does not favor a non-zero ${m_{sp}^{\rm eff},ΔN_{\rm eff}}$. In combination with a measurement of $S_8$ from KIDS1000+BOSS+2dfLenS, the $S_8$-tension would hint at the existence of a particle of mass $ m_{sp}^{\rm eff} \simeq 0.67_{-0.48}^{+0.26}$ ${\rm eV}$ with a contribution to $ΔN_{\rm eff} \simeq0.06\pm0.05$. However, Pantheon and BOSS BAO/$fσ_8$ data restricts the particle mass to $m_{sp}^{\rm eff} \simeq 0.48_{-0.36}^{+0.17}$ and contribution to $ΔN_{\rm eff} \simeq 0.046_{-0.031}^{+0.004}$. We discuss implications of our results for other canonical non-thermal HDM models -- the Dodelson-Widrow model and a thermal sterile particle with a different temperature in the hidden sector. We report competitive results on such hidden sector temperature which might have interesting implications for particle physics model building, in particular connecting the $S_8$-tension to the longstanding short baseline oscillation anomaly.

Interface of transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) and high-k dielectric transition metal oxides (TMO) had triggerred umpteen discourses due to the indubitable impact of TMO in reducing the contact resistances and restraining the Fermi-level pinning for the metal-TMDC contacts. In the present work, we focus on the unresolved tumults of large-area TMDC/TMO interfaces, grown by adopting different techniques. Here, on a pulsed laser deposited (PLD) MoS2 thin film, a layer of TiO2 is grown by using both atomic layer deposition (ALD) and PLD. These two different techniques emanate TiO2 layers with different crystalline properties, thicknesses and interfacial morphologies, subsequently influencing the electronic and optical properties of the interfaces. In addition, they manifest a boost in the extent of p-type do** with increasing thickness of TiO2, as emerged after analyzing the core-level shifts of the X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS). Density functional analysis of the MoS2/Anatase-TiO2 interfaces, for pristine and in presence of a wide range of interfacial defects, could explain the interdependence of do** and the terminating atomic-surface of TiO2 on MoS2. The optical properties of the interface, encompassing the photoluminescence, transient absorption and z-scan two-photon absorption indicate the presence of defect-induced localized mid-gap levels in MoS2/TiO2 (PLD), resulting quenched exciton signals. On the contrary, the relatively defect-free interface in MoS2/TiO2 (ALD) demonstrates a clear presence of both A and B excitons of MoS2. From the investigation of optical properties, we indicate that MoS2/TiO2 (PLD) interface may act as a promising saturable absorber. Moreover, MoS2/TiO2 (PLD) interface had resulted a better photo-transport. A potential application of MoS2/TiO2 (PLD) is demonstrated by the fabrication of a p-type photo-transistor with the ionic-gel top gate.

This work reports the electrical transport and temperature-dependent photoconductivity in tungsten diselenide (WSe2) thin films. The electrical conductivity analysis shows the presence of the three regions with temperature variation. At lower temperatures (<190K), carriers become localized to small regions in the film due to the Mott hop** mechanism. The middle region (190 to 273 K) follows Seto parameters and obtained low barrier height (0.0873 eV) may be responsible for the improved carrier mobility. At higher temperature (>273K) region, thermally activated conduction is dominated with two activation energies of ~138 meV and 98 meV. The peaks obtained in photoluminescent analysis attributes to the presence of mid-bandgap states or defect states which play an important role in the photoconductivity of WSe2. The transient photoconductivity measurements show consistent temperature-dependent behaviour. The effect of light intensity and wavelength variation on the photoconductivity of WSe2 thin films is also discussed. The photocurrent is 1.19*10-5 A at 125 K while at 350 K it was observed to be 3.12*10-4 A. The light-on/off current cycles show that the current can recover to its initial state which points to the stable and outstanding reversible properties of the WSe2 thin film device to be used in photodetector applications.

We present a novel scenario, in which light ($\sim$ few \rm{eV}) dark fermions (sterile neutrinos) interact with a scalar field like in mass varying neutrino dark energy theories. As the $\rm{eV}$ sterile states naturally become non-relativistic before the Matter Radiation Equality (MRE), we show that the neutrino-scalar fluid develops strong perturbative instability followed by the formation of neutrino-nuggets and the early dark energy behaviour disappears around MRE. The stability of the nugget is achieved when the Fermi pressure balances the attractive scalar force and we numerically find the mass and radius of heavy cold nuggets by solving for the static configuration for the scalar field. We find that for the case when DM nugget density is sub-dominant and most of the early DE energy goes into scalar field dynamics, it can in principle relax the Hubble anomaly. Especially when a kinetic energy dominated phase appears after the phase transition, the DE density dilutes faster than radiation and satisfy the requirements for solving $H_0$ anomaly. In our scenario, unlike in originally proposed early dark energy theory, the dark energy density is controlled by ($\rm{eV}$) neutrino mass and it does not require a fine tuned EDE scale. We perform a MCMC analysis and confront our model with Planck + SHOES and BAO data and find an evidence for non-zero neutrino-scalar EDE density during MRE. Our analysis shows that this model is in agreement of nearly 1.3$σ$ with SHOES measurement which is $H_0 = 74.03 \pm 1.42$ km/s/Mpc.

In this paper we show that concatenating the embeddings from the pre-trained model with those from a simple sentence embedding model trained only on the target data, can improve over the performance of FT for few-sample tasks. To this end, a linear classifier is trained on the combined embeddings, either by freezing the embedding model weights or training the classifier and embedding models end-to-end. We perform evaluation on seven small datasets from NLP tasks and show that our approach with end-to-end training outperforms FT with negligible computational overhead. Further, we also show that sophisticated combination techniques like CCA and KCCA do not work as well in practice as concatenation. We provide theoretical analysis to explain this empirical observation.

We can use field-programmable gate arrays as low-cost hardware accelerators along with a low-cost general-purpose processor instead of a high-cost application-specific processor for such applications. In this work, we employ an efficient Strassens algorithm for matrix multiplication and a highly efficient run-time-reconfigurable floating-point multiplier for matrix element multiplication. The run-time-reconfigurable floating-point multiplier is implemented with custom floating-point format for variable-precision applications. Some need high precision, some need low power consumption, low latency etc. But IEEE-754 format is not really flexible for these specifications and also design is complex. Optimal run-time reconfigurable hardware implementations may need the use of custom floating-point formats that do not necessarily follow IEEE specified sizes. In this paper, we present a run-time-reconfigurable floating point multiplier implemented on FPGA with custom floating point format for different applications. This floating point multiplier can have 6 modes of operations depending on the accuracy or application requirement. With the use of optimal design with custom IPs (Intellectual Properties), a better implementation is done by truncating the inputs before multiplication. Volumes 2 and 3 of this IDR describe, for the single-phase and dual-phase technologies, respectively, each detector module's subsystems, the technical coordination required for its design, construction, installation, and integration, and its organizational structure.

It is intended as an intermediate milestone on the path to a full TDR, justifying the technical choices that flow down from the high-level physics goals through requirements at all levels of the Project. These design choices will enable the DUNE experiment to make the ground-breaking discoveries that will help to answer fundamental physics questions. Volume 2 describes the single-phase module's subsystems, the technical coordination required for its design, construction, installation, and integration, and its organizational structure.

The increasing demand for Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) foils has been driven by their application in many current and proposed high-energy physics experiments. Micropack, a Bengaluru-based company, has established and commercialized GEM foils for the first time in India. Micropack used the double-mask etching technique to successfully produce 10 cm $\times$ 10 cm GEM foil. In this paper, we report on the development as well as the geometrical and electrical properties of these foils, including the size uniformity of the holes and leakage current measurements. Our characterization studies show that the foils are of good quality and satisfy all the necessary quality control criteria.

Abstract:
In the present paper, the notion of $\mathbb{R}$-complex Finsler space with Infinite Series ($α, β$)- metric $\dfrac{β^2}{β- α}$ is defined. The Fundamental metric fields $g_{ij}$, $g_{i\bar{j}}$, their determinants and the inverse of these tensor fields are obtained. Also some properties of these spaces are studied.

Abstract:
In this article, we establish a sufficient condition for the existence of a primitive element $α\in {\mathbb{F}_{q^n}}$ such that the element $α+α^{-1}$ is also a primitive element of ${\mathbb{F}_{q^n}},$ and $Tr_{\mathbb{F}_{q^n}|\mathbb{F}_{q}}(α)=a$ for any prescribed $a \in \mathbb{F}_q$, where $q=p^k$ for some prime $p$ and positive integer $k$. We prove that every finite field $\mathbb{F}_{q^n}~ (n \geq5),$ contains such primitive elements except for finitely many values of $q$ and $n$. Indeed, by computation, we conclude that there are no actual exceptional pairs $(q,n)$ for $n\geq5.$

Incorporation of magnetism in graphene based compounds holds great promise for potential spintronic applications. By optimizing point defects and high edge density of defects, we report many-fold increase in the ferromagnetic saturation moment in lacey reduced graphene oxide nanoribbons (LRGONR) as compared to other graphene derivatives. The samples were synthesized using chemical unzip** methodology. Detailed structural and morphological characterizations are discussed that include XRD, Raman, SEM, HRTEM and XPS measurements. Brilluoin function analysis to magnetization data reflects best fit for J = 7/2 with a saturation moment of 1.1 emu/g. The microscopic origin of magnetization in LRGONR is assigned to high edge defect density which has also been correlated to microstructure.

We consider the problem of existence and enumeration of primitive TSRs of order n over any finite field. Here we prove the existence of primitive TSRs of order two over finite fields of characteristic two and establish an equivalence between primitive TSRs and primitive polynomials of special form. A conjecture regarding the existence of these special type of primitive polynomials is submitted by us along with some experimental verification. Further we have attempted to enumerate primitive TSRs of order two over finite fields of characteristic two. Finally we give a general search algorithm for primitive TSRs of odd order over any finite field and in particular of order two over fields of characteristic two.

It has a crystal structure consists of discrete PO4 tetrahedra linked by ZnO4 and NaO4 distorted tetrahedral such that three tetrahedra, one of each kind, share one corner. The presence of UV sensitive Zn-O-Zn bonds efficient energy transfer to Mn2+ ions resulted in brightest PL and external quantum yield of 63% at 418 nm. Our experiment demonstrated the possibility of producing inexpensive white-light emitting devices for future.
