Fine-grained visual classification (FGVC) is a challenging computer vision problem, where the task is to automatically recognise objects from subordinate categories. One of its main difficulties is capturing the most discriminative inter-class variances among visually similar classes. Recently, methods with Vision Transformer (ViT) have demonstrated noticeable achievements in FGVC, generally by employing the self-attention mechanism with additional resource-consuming techniques to distinguish potentially discriminative regions while disregarding the rest. However, such approaches may struggle to effectively focus on truly discriminative regions due to only relying on the inherent self-attention mechanism, resulting in the classification token likely aggregating global information from less-important background patches. Moreover, due to the immense lack of the datapoints, classifiers may fail to find the most helpful inter-class distinguishing features, since other unrelated but distinctive background regions may be falsely recognised as being valuable. To this end, we introduce a simple yet effective Salient Mask-Guided Vision Transformer (SM-ViT), where the discriminability of the standard ViT`s attention maps is boosted through salient masking of potentially discriminative foreground regions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that with the standard training procedure our SM-ViT achieves state-of-the-art performance on popular FGVC benchmarks among existing ViT-based approaches while requiring fewer resources and lower input image resolution.

Crowd anomaly detection is one of the most popular topics in computer vision in the context of smart cities. A plethora of deep learning methods have been proposed that generally outperform other machine learning solutions. Our review primarily discusses algorithms that were published in mainstream conferences and journals between 2020 and 2022. We present datasets that are typically used for benchmarking, produce a taxonomy of the developed algorithms, and discuss and compare their performances. Our main findings are that the heterogeneities of pre-trained convolutional models have a negligible impact on crowd video anomaly detection performance. We conclude our discussion with fruitful directions for future research.

The popularity of content management software (CMS) is growing vastly to the web developers and the business people because of its capacity for easy accessibility, manageability and usability of the distributed website contents. As per the statistics of Built with, 32% of the web applications are developed with WordPress(WP) among all other CMSs [1]. It is obvious that quite a good number of web applications were built with WP in version 4.7.0 and 4.7.1. A recent research reveals that content injection vulnerability was found available in the above two versions of WP [2]. Unauthorized content injection by an intruder in a CMS managed application is one of the serious problems for the business as well as for the web owner.Therefore, detection of the vulnerability becomes a critical issue for this time. In this paper, we have discussed about the root cause of WP content injection of the above versions and have also proposed a detection model for the given vulnerability. A tool, SAISAN has been implemented as per our anticipated model and conducted an examination on 176 WP developed web applications using SAISAN. We achieved the accuracy of 92% of the result of SAISAN as compared to manual black box testing outcome.
