This paper investigates the existence and properties of anisotropic strange quark stars in the context of massive Brans-Dicke theory. The field equations are constructed in Jordan frame by assuming a suitable potential function with MIT bag model. We employ the embedding class-one approach as well as junction conditions to determine the unknown metric functions. Radius of the strange star candidate, LMC X-4, is predicted through its observed mass for different values of the bag constant. We analyze the effects of coupling parameter as well as mass of scalar field on state determinants and execute multiple checks on the stability and viability of the spherical system. It is concluded that the resulting stellar structure is physically viable and stable as it satisfies the energy conditions as well as essential stability criteria.

In this paper, we construct anisotropic spherical solutions from known isotropic solutions through extended gravitational decoupling method in the background of self-interacting Brans-Dicke theory. The field equations are decoupled into two sets by applying geometric deformations on radial as well as temporal metric components. The first array corresponds to isotropic fluid while influence of the anisotropic source is confined to the second set. The isotropic sector is determined through metric functions of isotropic solutions (Tolman IV/Krori-Barua) whereas two constraints on the anisotropic source are required to close the second system. The impact of the massive scalar field as well as the decoupling parameter on the physical characteristics of the anisotropic solutions is analyzed graphically. We also check the viability, compactness, surface redshift and stability of the obtained solutions. It is found that the resulting solutions follow accepted physical trend for some values of the decoupling parameter.

In this paper, we study thermodynamics, quasi-normal modes and thermal fluctuations of a charged black hole with Weyl corrections. We first obtain thermodynamic quantities such as Hawking temperature, entropy, and heat capacity for non-rotating as well as rotating versions of this black hole. We also evaluate temperature through quantum tunneling mechanism which is exactly the same as found through surface gravity. We then discuss the relation between Davies's point and quasi-normal modes. Finally, we investigate the effects of thermal fluctuations on the uncorrected thermodynamic quantities. It is concluded that the logarithmic corrections originated from thermal fluctuations make the system more unstable for small BHs.

For this purpose, we consider an isotropic Tolman IV solution and extend it to anisotropic domain by transforming both temporal as well as radial metric potentials. To examine the physical viability and stability of interior anisotropic solutions, we plot energy bounds, TOV equation, causality condition and adiabatic index for the stars Her X-I and PSR J 1416-2230. It is found that both obtained models show realistic behavior as they fulfill all physical constraints as well as stability criterion. We apply cut and paste approach to construct gravastars through the matching of interior non-singular de Sitter geometry with exterior regular black hole. This model contains three regions, i.e., interior, thin-shell and exterior. The interior and exterior regions are connected at thin-shell. We investigate physical viability of the developed model by the energy conditions and explore its stability by using radial perturbation about the equilibrium shell radius. It is found that thin-shell gravastars show large stable regions for the Bardeen-de Sitter black hole as compared to the Bardeen black hole. It is concluded that stable regions exist near the formation of expected event horizon.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existence of static stable Einstein universe using inhomogeneous linear perturbations in the context of $f(R,T)$ gravity ($R$ and $T$ denote the scalar curvature and trace of the stress-energy tensor, respectively). The static and perturbed field equations are constructed for perfect fluid parameterized by linear equation of state parameter. We obtain solutions manifesting the Einstein static state by considering peculiar $f(R,T)$ forms for vanishing and non-vanishing conservation of the stress-energy tensor. It is observed that stable static Einstein regions exist for both closed as well as open FLRW universe models for an appropriate choice of parameters. We conclude that this theory is efficient for presenting such cosmological solutions leading to emergent universe scenario.

In this paper, we formulate an analytic expression of the greybody factor for the Kerr-Newman black hole in the presence of the quintessential field. Primarily, we analyze the profile of effective potential by transforming the radial equation of motion into standard Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger form through tortoise coordinate. The two asymptotic solutions, in the form of hypergeometric functions, are computed at distinct radial regions such as a black hole and cosmological horizons determined by the quintessence. To extend the viability over the whole radial regime, we match the analytical solutions smoothly in an intermediate region by using a semi-classical approach. We also calculate the emission rates and absorption cross-section for the massless scalar fields to elaborate on the significance of our result. It is found that the electromagnetic force together with the gravitational pull of the black hole maximizes the effective potential and consequently, decreases the emission process of scalar field particles.

Motivated by the transformative impact of deep neural networks (DNNs) in various domains, researchers and anti-virus vendors have proposed DNNs for malware detection from raw bytes that do not require manual feature engineering. In this work, we propose an attack that interweaves binary-diversification techniques and optimization frameworks to mislead such DNNs while preserving the functionality of binaries. Unlike prior attacks, ours manipulates instructions that are a functional part of the binary, which makes it particularly challenging to defend against. We evaluated our attack against three DNNs in white- and black-box settings, and found that it often achieved success rates near 100%. Moreover, we found that our attack can fool some commercial anti-viruses, in certain cases with a success rate of 85%. We explored several defenses, both new and old, and identified some that can foil over 80% of our evasion attempts. However, these defenses may still be susceptible to evasion by attacks, and so we advocate for augmenting malware-detection systems with methods that do not rely on machine learning.

This paper proposes a new defense called $n$-ML against adversarial examples, i.e., inputs crafted by perturbing benign inputs by small amounts to induce misclassifications by classifiers. Inspired by $n$-version programming, $n$-ML trains an ensemble of $n$ classifiers, and inputs are classified by a vote of the classifiers in the ensemble. Unlike prior such approaches, however, the classifiers in the ensemble are trained specifically to classify adversarial examples differently, rendering it very difficult for an adversarial example to obtain enough votes to be misclassified. We show that $n$-ML roughly retains the benign classification accuracies of state-of-the-art models on the MNIST, CIFAR10, and GTSRB datasets, while simultaneously defending against adversarial examples with better resilience than the best defenses known to date and, in most cases, with lower classification-time overhead.

In order to analyze the structure formation of quark stars, we consider the Heintzmann solution and assume that strange quark matter is characterized by MIT bag model equation of state. We evaluate the unknown parameters through matching conditions and obtain the values of radii of strange quark stars using modified Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation with observed values of masses and bag constant. The feasibility of our considered solution is analyzed by graphical analysis of matter variables, energy bounds, causality condition and adiabatic index. It is found that the strange quark stars show stable structure corresponding to Heintzmann solution and their physical viability enhances with increasing values of the model parameter $σ$.

This paper studies the effects of charge on a peculiar stellar object, recognized as gravastar, under the influence of $f(R,T)$ gravity by considering the conjecture of Mazur and Mottola in general relativity. The gravastar is also known as an alternative to a black hole and is expressed by three distinct domains named as (i) the interior domain, (ii) the intermediate shell and (iii) the exterior domain. We analyze these domains for a specific $f(R,T)$ gravity model conceding the conformal Killing vectors. In the interior domain, we assume that pressure is equal to negative energy density which leads to the existence of repulsive force on the spherical shell. The intermediate shell consists of ultra-relativistic plasma and pressure which shows a direct relation with energy density and counterbalances the repulsive force applied by the interior domain. The exterior vacuum spherical domain is taken to be the de Sitter spacetime illustrated by the Reissner-Nordström metric. We conclude that non-singular solutions of charged gravastar with various physical properties such as length, energy, entropy and equation of state parameter are physically consistent.

In this paper, we formulate an analytical expression of greybody factor in the context of rotating Bardeen black hole which is valid in low energy and low angular momentum region. Primarily, we analyze the profile of effective potential which originates the absorption probability. We then derive two asymptotic solutions by solving the radial part of Klein-Gordon equation in two different regions, namely, black hole and far-field horizons. We match these solutions smoothly to an intermediate regime to extend our results over the whole radial coordinate. In order to elaborate on the significance of the analytical solution, we compute the energy emission rate and absorption cross-section for the massless scalar field. It is found that the rotation parameter increases the emission rate of scalar field particles while the orbital angular momentum minimizes the emission process.

For this purpose, we consider the FRW universe with pressureless matter and power-law scale factor. We examine the behavior of the equation of state parameter and check the stability of ghost dark energy model through the squared speed of sound parameter. We also analyze the behavior of phase planes like $ω_{eff}-ω'_{eff}$ and $r-s$ graphically. It is found that the equation of state parameter represents the quintessence era for non-interacting while the phantom phase of the universe for an interacting case. The squared speed of sound indicates stable ghost dark energy model for both cases. The $ω_{eff}-ω'_{eff}$ plane shows thawing region for non-interacting while freezing region for an interacting case. The $r-s$ plane corresponds to the Chaplygin gas model in both scenarios. This study focuses to overcome two major limitations of existing works: data diversity and effective learning method. Hence, the existing Arabic numeral datasets have been merged into a single dataset and augmented to introduce data diversity. Moreover, a novel deep model has been proposed to exploit diverse data samples of unified dataset. The proposed deep model utilizes the low-level edge features by propagating them through residual connection. To make a fair comparison with the proposed model, the existing works have been studied under the unified dataset. The comparison experiments illustrate that the unified dataset accelerates the performance of the existing works. Moreover, the proposed model outperforms the existing state-of-the-art Arabic handwritten numeral classification methods and obtain an accuracy of 99.59% in the validation phase. In this paper, we examine the thermodynamic features of an exotic fluid known as modified cosmic Chaplygin gas in the context of homogeneous isotropic universe model. For this purpose, the behavior of physical parameters are discussed that help to analyze nature of the universe. Using specific heat formalism, the validity of third law of thermodynamics is checked. Furthermore, with the help of thermodynamic entities, the thermal equation of state is also discussed. The thermodynamic stability is explored by means of adiabatic, specific heat and isothermal conditions from classical thermodynamics. It is concluded that the considered fluid configuration is thermodynamically stable and expands adiabatically for an appropriate choice of parameters.

The field equations are obtained for unperturbed as well as axially perturbed FRW metric. These field equations are solved simultaneously to obtain the unknown perturbation parameters. We find that the assumed perturbations can affect matter as well as four-velocity. Moreover, ignoring the material perturbations we explicitly obtain an expression for four-velocity. It is concluded that axial gravitational waves in the curvature-matter coupling background can produce cosmological rotation or have memory effect if the wave profile has a discontinuity at the wavefront.

This paper is devoted to study the cosmological behavior of homogeneous and isotropic universe model in the context of $f(R,T^{\varphi})$ gravity where $\varphi$ is the scalar field. For this purpose, we follow the first order formalism defined by $H=W(\varphi)$. We evaluate Hubble parameter, effective equation of state parameter $(ω^{eff})$, deceleration parameter and potential of scalar field for three different values of $W(\varphi)$. We obtain phantom era in some cases for the early times. It is found that exponential expression of $W(\varphi)$ yields $ω^{eff}$ independent of time for flat universe and independent of model parameter otherwise. It is concluded that our model corresponds to $Λ$CDM for both initial as well as late times.

We study the wormhole solutions by assuming four different matter contents, a specific redshift function and a particular $F(T,T_\mathcal{G})$ model. The behavior of null/weak energy conditions for these fluids is analyzed graphically. It turns out that wormhole solutions can be obtained in the absence of exotic matter for some particular regions of spacetime. This paper explores the non-equilibrium behavior of thermodynamics at the apparent horizon of isotropic and homogeneous universe model in $f(\mathcal{G},T)$ gravity ($\mathcal{G}$ and $T$ represent the Gauss-Bonnet invariant and trace of the energy-momentum tensor, respectively). We construct the corresponding field equations and analyze the first as well as generalized second law of thermodynamics in this scenario. It is found that an auxiliary term corresponding to entropy production appears due to the non-equilibrium picture of thermodynamics in first law. The universal condition for the validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics is also obtained. Finally, we check the validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics for the reconstructed $f(\mathcal{G},T)$ models (de Sitter and power-law solutions). We conclude that this law holds for suitable choices of free parameters.

Much research effort has been devoted to better understanding adversarial examples, which are specially crafted inputs to machine-learning models that are perceptually similar to benign inputs, but are classified differently (i.e., misclassified). Both algorithms that create adversarial examples and strategies for defending against them typically use $L_p$-norms to measure the perceptual similarity between an adversarial input and its benign original. Prior work has already shown, however, that two images need not be close to each other as measured by an $L_p$-norm to be perceptually similar. In this work, we show that nearness according to an $L_p$-norm is not just unnecessary for perceptual similarity, but is also insufficient. Specifically, focusing on datasets (CIFAR10 and MNIST), $L_p$-norms, and thresholds used in prior work, we show through online user studies that "adversarial examples" that are closer to their benign counterparts than required by commonly used $L_p$-norm thresholds can nevertheless be perceptually different to humans from the corresponding benign examples. Namely, the perceptual distance between two images that are "near" each other according to an $L_p$-norm can be high enough that participants frequently classify the two images as representing different objects or digits. Combined with prior work, we thus demonstrate that nearness of inputs as measured by $L_p$-norms is neither necessary nor sufficient for perceptual similarity, which has implications for both creating and defending against adversarial examples. We propose and discuss alternative similarity metrics to stimulate future research in the area.

The physical existence of wormhole solutions can be examined through null/weak energy conditions of perfect fluid and null energy condition of the effective energy-momentum tensor. The graphical interpretation of constructed wormhole solutions ensures the existence of physically viable and traversable wormholes for all models. Images perturbed subtly to be misclassified by neural networks, called adversarial examples, have emerged as a technically deep challenge and an important concern for several application domains. Most research on adversarial examples takes as its only constraint that the perturbed images are similar to the originals. However, real-world application of these ideas often requires the examples to satisfy additional objectives, which are typically enforced through custom modifications of the perturbation process. In this paper, we propose adversarial generative nets (AGNs), a general methodology to train a generator neural network to emit adversarial examples satisfying desired objectives. We demonstrate the ability of AGNs to accommodate a wide range of objectives, including imprecise ones difficult to model, in two application domains. In particular, we demonstrate physical adversarial examples---eyeglass frames designed to fool face recognition---with better robustness, inconspicuousness, and scalability than previous approaches, as well as a new attack to fool a handwritten-digit classifier.

The popularity of content management software (CMS) is growing vastly to the web developers and the business people because of its capacity for easy accessibility, manageability and usability of the distributed website contents. As per the statistics of Built with, 32% of the web applications are developed with WordPress(WP) among all other CMSs [1]. It is obvious that quite a good number of web applications were built with WP in version 4.7.0 and 4.7.1. A recent research reveals that content injection vulnerability was found available in the above two versions of WP [2]. Unauthorized content injection by an intruder in a CMS managed application is one of the serious problems for the business as well as for the web owner. Therefore, detection of the vulnerability becomes a critical issue for this time. In this paper, we have discussed about the root cause of WP content injection of the above versions and have also proposed a detection model for the given vulnerability. A tool, SAISAN has been implemented as per our anticipated model and conducted an examination on 176 WP developed web applications using SAISAN. We achieved the accuracy of 92% of the result of SAISAN as compared to manual black box testing outcome.

A variational principle is established to determine characteristic frequencies of oscillation which define stability criteria for gaseous cylinder. We compute the ranges of radii as well as adiabatic index for both charged and uncharged cases in Newtonian and post-Newtonian limits. We observe that positive values of $m$ provide more stable future attractors as compared to its negative values. We also analyze the behavior of power-law scale factor which shows different cosmological phases. We evaluate scalars associated with electric and magnetic parts of the Weyl tensor for both non-spinning (at the center) and spinning (in the surrounding of the center) fluids of the configuration. For this purpose, we use the evolution as well as constraint equations for kinematical quantities and Weyl tensor. Finally, we investigate the existence of gravitational radiation through super-Poynting vector. It is found that the fluid is not gravitationally radiating in the non-spinning case but it is gravitationally radiating for the spinning case.
