The present study focuses on experimental investigations of spin current across the interface of an iridate/manganite heterostructure (SrIrO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3) consisting of oxide epitaxial films with nanometer thickness. Pure spin current is induced by microwave irradiation in the GHz frequency band, specifically under conditions of ferromagnetic resonance. The detection of spin current is achieved through the inverse spin-Hall effect, which measures the charge current arising on the electrically conductive SrIrO3 film with strong spin-orbit interaction. To quantify the efficiency of spin current conversion to charge current, the angular dependences of spin magnetoresistance of the iridate/manganite interface are measured, thereby determining the spin- Hall angle.

Spin reorientation is an important phenomenon of rare-earth perovskites, orthoferrites and orthochromites. In this study, we consider a simple but realistic microscopic theory of the spontaneous spin-reorientation transitions induced by the 4f-3d interaction, more specifically, the interaction of the main Kramers doublet or non-Kramers quasi-doublet of the 4f ion with an effective magnetic field induced by the 3d sublattice. The obtained results indicate that the cause of both the temperature and the character of the spin-reorientation transition is a competition between the second and fourth order spin anisotropy of the 3d sublattice, the crystal field for 4f ions, and the 4f-3d interaction.

We consider the effects of the magnetic field on the frustrated phase states of the dilute Ising chain, especially, the behavior of the magnetic entropy change and the isentropic dependence of the temperature on the magnetic field, which are the key parameters of the magnetocaloric effect. The found temperature dependences of entropy demonstrate the nonequivalence of frustrated phases in the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic cases. In the antiferromagnetic case, the nonzero magnetic field at certain parameters causes a charge ordering for nonmagnetic impurities at a half-filling, while in the ferromagnetic case, the magnetic field reduces the frustration of the ground state only partially. It is also shown, that impurities radically change the magnetic Grüneisen parameter in comparison with the case of a pure Ising chain.

We present results on experimental studies of spin current, measured under spin pum** at ferromag-netic resonance in wide frequency band 2-20 GHz for SrIrO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 heterostructures fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering at high temperature. The epitaxial growth of the thin film in heterostructure by a cube-on-cube mechanism was confirmed by XRD and TEM analysis. Taking into account the con-tribution of anisotropic magnetoresistance the spin current was estimated as 1/3 of the total response. We show that both real and imaginary parts of spin mixing conductance are valuable for heterostructures with strong spin-orbit interaction in SrIrO3. Imaginary part of spin mixing conductance was estimated by means of shift of ferromagnetic resonance field of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 layer in heterostructure. The spin mag-netoresistance was evaluated from angular dependencies of magnetoresistance measured in planar Hall configuration. In order to extract the influence of anisotropic magnetoresistance a La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 film was measured as well. The spin Hall angle for heterostructure was found higher than for interface Pt/ La0.7Sr0.3MnO3.

The magnetocaloric effect in a two-dimensional Ising model is considered for different ratios between parameters of inter-site repulsion of nonmagnetic impurities and exchange coupling. Classical Monte Carlo simulations on a square lattice show that in case of weak coupling and at sufficiently high concentrations of nonmagnetic impurities the long-range ferromagnetic ordering breaks down to give isolated spin clusters in the ground state of the system. This leads to appearance of a paramagnetic response in the system at the zero temperature and nonzero entropy of the ground state. The feasibility to detect frustration of ground state using data on the magnetic entropy variation is discussed

The superconducting current has been observed in mesa-heterostructures Nb/Au/Sr2IrO4/YBa2Cu3Ox with Sr2IrO4 interlayer thickness d=5 and 7 nm and in-plane sizes L=10-50 mcm. A strontium iridate, Sr2IrO4, is known as a canted antiferromagnetic insulator at low temperatures and characterized also by the strong spin-orbit interaction due to the impact of the IrO2 plane. The superconducting critical current density jC =0.3 A/cm^2 for the case d=7 nm was observed at T=4.2K. The temperature dependences of the superconducting critical current IC(T) and the voltage position on the I-V curve of the gap singularity of the Nb electrode show an increase with decreasing temperature and corresponds to the expected BCS behavior of the Nb energy gap. The critical current is very sensitive to the influence of an external magnetic field and reduces twice at an external magnetic field (H=0.2 Oe for L=40-50 mcm) comparable with the earth magnetic field; The magnetic field dependence IC(H) at low H was narrower than the Fraunhofer pattern about 1.5 times. Both the integer and fractional Shapiro steps at voltages V=(m/n)(h/2e)fe were observed under microwave radiation at frequencies fe=38 GHz and fe=50 GHz. Fractional Shapiro steps (m/n=1/2, 3/2) may point on the presence of the second harmonic in the superconducting current-phase relation.

Their compact circuits contain just one and two Josephson junctions, respectively. While the signal is represented as magnetic flux, the proposed cells are inherently nonlinear and close-to-linear magnetic flux transformers. The neuron is capable of providing a one-shot calculation of sigmoid and hyperbolic tangent activation functions most commonly used in MLP. The synapse features by both positive and negative signal transfer coefficients in the range ~ (-0.5,0.5). We briefly discuss implementation issues and further steps toward multilayer adiabatic superconducting artificial neural network which promises to be a compact and the most energy-efficient implementation of MLP.

Ferromagnetic resonance measurements of heterostructure Au/LMO/YBCO shows ferromagnetic state at temperatures below 150 K as in the case of reference LMO film grown on the neodymium gallate substrate. The heights of the tunneling barrier evaluated from resistive characteristics of mesa-structures at different thickness of interlayer showed an exponential decrease from 30 mV down to 5 mV with the increase of manganite interlayer thickness. Temperature dependence of the conductivity of mesa-structures could be described taking into account the d-wave superconductivity in YBCO and a spin filtering of the electron transport. Spin filtering is supported also by measurements of magneto-resistance and the high sensitivity of mesa-structure conductivity to weak magnetic fields.

We have further observed superconducting currents in mesa-structures fabricated by deposition of a second superconducting Nb layer on top of the heterostructure, followed by patterning with photolithography and ion-beam etching. Josephson effects observed in these mesa-structures can be explained by the penetration of a triplet component of the superconducting order parameter into the magnetic layers.

We present results of numerical simulations of a metamaterial element (meta-atom) for planar negative media based on cuprate Josephson junctions. The proposed circuit consists of two coupled resonators: "magnetic dipole" and "electric dipole". The first one is a superconducting spiral resonator with multijunction superconducting structure - SQIF (SQIF - superconducting quantum interference filter), and the second one is a comb-shape resonator made from normal metal film. We show, that in comparison with passive metal resonators, the superconducting resonator with Josephson junctions (magnetic dipole) can be tuned by external magnetic field due to magnetic dependence of Josephson inductance. The simulated characteristics of one-dimensional planar negative media are discussed.

Transport and magnetic properties of LSMO manganite thin films and bicrystal junctions were investigated. Manganite films were epitaxially grown on STO, LAO, NGO and LSAT substrates and their magnetic anisotropy were determined by two techniques of magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Compare with cubic substrates a small (about 0.3 persentage), the anisotropy of the orthorhombic NGO substrate leads to a uniaxial anisotropy of the magnetic properties of the films in the plane of the substrate. Samples with different tilt of crystallographic basal planes of manganite as well as bicrystal junctions with rotation of the crystallographic axes (RB - junction) and with tilting of basal planes (TB - junction) were investigated. It was found that on vicinal NGO substrates the value of magnetic anisotropy could be varied by changing the substrate inclination angle from 0 to 25 degrees. Measurement of magnetic anisotropy of manganite bicrystal junction demonstrated the presence of two ferromagnetically ordered spin subsystems for both types of bicrystal boundaries RB and TB. The magnitude of the magnetoresistance for TB - junctions increased with decreasing temperature and with the misorientation angle even misorientation of easy axes in the parts of junction does not change. Analysis of the voltage dependencies of bicrystal junction conductivity show that the low value of the magnetoresistance for the LSMO bicrystal junctions can be caused by two scattering mechanisms with the spin- flip of spin - polarized carriers due to the strong electron - electron interactions in a disordered layer at the bicrystal boundary at low temperatures and the spin-flip by anti ferromagnetic magnons at high temperatures.

We report on the study of electron transport in the oxide heterostructures with superconductor/magnetic matter (S/M) interfaces where anomaly large penetration of superconducting correlations in magnetic matter (proximity effect) is realized. The developed theoretical model based on multilayer magnetic structure of M-interlayer and experiment show presence of the long-range proximity effect at S/M-interface with antiferromagnetic (AF) ordering of the interlayer magnetization. The investigated hybrid heterostructures include cuprate superconductor, the AF-cuprate interlayer and conventional superconductor, Nb. The superconducting critical current with density 1-10A/cm2 and the characteristic voltage, 0.1-0.2 mV, are observed at liquid helium temperature for 15-50 nm thick M-interlayer made of AF film CaSrCuO. These heterostructures demonstrate deviation from sin-type superconducting current-phase relation and had the critical current of the second harmonic of 10-20% of the first harmonic one. The hybrid heterostructures with S/AF interface show high sensitivity to the external magnetic field that is possibly caused by the influence of an external magnetic field on the canting of magnetic moments of individual layers of AF -interlayer. Substituting the AF cuprate by a manganite film, no critical current was observed, although the M- interlayer was made very thin, down to 5 nm.

A new operating regime of the Superconducting Quantum Interference Filter (SQIF) is investigated. The voltage to magnetic field response function, V(H), is determined by a Fraunhofer dependence of the critical current and magnetic flux focusing effect in Josephson junctions (F-mode). For SQIF-arrays made of high-Tc superconducting bicrystal Josephson junctions the F-mode plays a predominant role in the voltage-field response V(H). The relatively large superconducting loops of the SQIF are used for inductive coupling to the external input circuit. It is shown that the output noise of a SQIF-array measured with a cooled amplifier in the 1-2 GHz range is determined by the slope of the V(H) characteristic. Power gain and saturation power were evaluated using low frequency SQIF parameters. Finally, we consider the influence of the spread in the parameters of Josephson junctions in the SQIF-array on the V(H) characteristic of the whole structure.
