On the rigidity of the complex Grassmannians
Abstract: We study the integrability to second order of the infinitesimal Einstein deformations of the symmetric metric $g$ on the complex Grassmannian of $k$-planes inside $\mathbb{C}^n$. The Morse index of quartic minimal hypersurfaces
Abstract: The homogeneous minimal hypersurfaces in $S^n$ have $g = 1,2,3,4$, or $6$ distinct (constant) principal curvatures. While the Morse index and nullity have been calculated for all such hypersurfaces having $g = 1,2,3$, it has remained an open problem to compute these quantities for any of those with $g = 4$ or $6$. In this paper, we calculate the Morse index and nullity of two homogeneous minimal h… ▽ More

Abstract: We study the space of nearly Kähler structures on compact 6-dimensional manifolds. In particular, we prove that the space of infinitesimal deformations of a strictly nearly Kähler structure (with scalar curvature scal) modulo the group of diffeomorphisms, is isomorphic to the space of primitive co-closed (1,1)-eigenforms of the Laplace operator for the eigenvalue 2scal/5.

Killing forms on G2 and Spin7 manifolds
Abstract: Killing forms on Riemannian manifolds are differential forms whose covariant derivative is totally skew-symmetric. We show that on a compact manifold with holonomy G2 or Spin7 any Killing form has to be parallel. The main tool is a universal Weitzenboeck formula. We show how such a formula can be obtained for any given holonomy group and any representation defining a vector bundle.

Killing Forms on Symmetric Spaces
Abstract: Killing forms on Riemannian manifolds are differential forms whose covariant derivative is totally skew--symmetric. We show that a compact simply connected symmetric space carries a non--parallel Killing $p$--form ($p\ge2$) if and only if it isometric to a Riemannian product $S^k\times N$, where $S^k$ is a round sphere and $k>p$.

Twistor Forms on Riemannian Products
Abstract: We study twistor forms on products of compact Riemannian manifolds and show that they are defined by Killing forms on the factors. The main result of this note is a necessary step in the classification of compact Riemannian manifolds with non-generic holonomy carrying twistor forms.

Unit Killing Vector Fields on Nearly Kahler Manifolds
Abstract: We study 6-dimensional nearly Kahler manifolds admitting a Killing vector field of unit length. In the compact case it is shown that up to a finite cover there is only one geometry possible, that of the 3--symmetric space $S^3 \times S^3$.

An upper bound for a Hilbert polynomial on quaternionic Kahler manifolds
Abstract: In this article we prove an upper bound for a Hilbert polynomial on quaternionic Kaehler manifolds of positive scalar curvature. As corollaries we obtain bounds on the quaternionic volume and the degree of the associated twistor space. Moreover the article contains some details on differential equations of finite type. Part of it is used in the proof of the main theorem.

Conformal Killing forms on Riemannian manifolds
Abstract: Conformal Killing forms are a natural generalization of conformal vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. They are defined as sections in the kernel of a conformally invariant first order differential operator. We show the existence of conformal Killing forms on nearly Kaehler and weak G_2-manifolds. Moreover, we give a complete description of special conformal Killing forms. A further result is… ▽ More

Twistor Forms on Kaehler Manifolds
Abstract: Twistor forms are a natural generalization of conformal vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. They are defined as sections in the kernel of a conformally invariant first order differential operator. We study twistor forms on compact Kaehler manifolds and give a complete description up to special forms in the middle dimension. Symmetries of Contact Metric Manifolds
Abstract: We study the Lie algebra of infinitesimal isometries on compact Sasakian and K--contact manifolds. On a Sasakian manifold which is not a space form or 3--Sasakian, every Killing vector field is an infinitesimal automorphism of the Sasakian structure. For a manifold with K--contact structure, we prove that there exists a Killing vector field of constant length which is not an infinitesimal automo… ▽ More
