A quark core-gluon model for heavy hybrid baryons
Abstract: Besides the ordinary hadrons, QCD allows the existence of states in which excitations of the gluonic field can play the role of valence particles, either alone in a glueball, or coupled to quarks in a hybrid. So, hybrid baryons, made of three quarks and a gluon, can a priori exist. Till now, there is no experimental evidence for such exotic hadrons but experimental efforts are being made to search… ▽ More

Tests of the envelope theory for three-body forces
Abstract: Many-body forces, and specially three-body forces, are sometimes a relevant ingredient in various fields, such as atomic, nuclear or hadronic physics. As their precise structure is generally difficult to uncover or to implement, phenomenological effective forces are often used in practice. A form commonly used for a many-body variable is the square-root of the sum of two-body variables. Even in th… ▽ More

The envelope theory as a pedagogical tool
Abstract: The envelope theory is a reliable and easy to implement method to solve time independent Schrödinger-like equations (eigenvalues and eigenvectors). It is particularly useful to solve many-body systems since the computational cost is independent from the number of particles. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, we want to make known a method that is probably too little used. Second, we also… ▽ More

Many-quark interactions: Large-$N$ scaling and contribution to baryon masses
Abstract: Starting from an effective Hamiltonian modelling a baryon made of $N$ identical quarks in the large-$N$ approach of QCD, we obtain analytical formulas allowing to estimate the contributions of multiquark interactions to the baryon mass. The cases of vanishing (mass spectrum) and non-vanishing (baryon melting) temperatures are treated.

Improvement of the Envelope Theory for Systems with Different Particles
Abstract: The envelope theory is a method to compute approximate eigensolutions of quantum $N$-body Hamiltonians with a quite general structure in $D$ dimensions. The advantages of the method are that it is easy to implement and that $N$ is treated as any other parameters of the Hamiltonian, allowing the computation for systems of all sizes. Semirelativistic Hamiltonians and the auxiliary field method
Abstract: Approximate analytical closed energy formulas for semirelativistic Hamiltonians of the form $σ\sqrt{\bm p^{2}+m^2}+V(r)$ are obtained within the framework of the auxiliary field method. This method, which is equivalent to the envelope theory, has been recently proposed as a powerful tool to get approximate analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation. Various shapes for the potential $V(r)$… ▽ More

Auxiliary field method for the square root potential
Abstract: Using the auxiliary field method, we give an analytical expression for the eigenenergies of a system composed of two non-relativistic particles interacting via a potential of type $\sqrt{a^2 r^2 + b}$. This situation is usual in the case of hybrid mesons in which the quark-antiquark pair evolves in an excited gluonic field. Asymptotic expressions are proposed and the approximate results are comp… ▽ More

Towers of hybrid mesons
Abstract: A hybrid meson is a quark-antiquark pair in which, contrary to ordinary mesons, the gluon field is in an excited state. In the framework of constituent models, the interaction potential is assumed to be the energy of an excited string. An approximate, but accurate, analytical solution of the Schrödinger equation with such a potential is presented. When applied to hybrid charmonia and bottomonia,… ▽ More

The Glueball Spectrum from Constituent Models
Abstract: We present a model for odd-$C$ (negative charge parity) glueballs with three constituent gluons. The model is an extension of a previous study of two-gluon glueballs. We show that, even if spin-1 gluons seem to reproduce properly the lattice QCD spectrum for $C=+$ states, the extension for $C=-$ cannot match with the lattice results. Resorting to the helicity formalism, we show how transverse gl… ▽ More

Some equivalences between the auxiliary field method and the envelope theory
Abstract: The auxiliary field method has been recently proposed as an efficient technique to compute analytical approximate solutions of eigenequations in quantum mechanics. We show that the auxiliary field method is completely equivalent to the envelope theory, which is another well-known procedure to analytically solve eigenequations, although relying on different principles \textit{a priori}. This equi… ▽ More

Auxiliary field method and analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation with exponential potentials
Abstract: The auxiliary field method is a new and efficient way to compute approximate analytical eigenenergies and eigenvectors of the Schrödinger equation. This method has already been successfully applied to the case of central potentials of power-law and logarithmic forms. In the present work, we show that the Schrödinger equation with exponential potentials of the form $-αr^λ\exp(-βr)$ can also be an… ▽ More
