Dip-Bump Structure in Proton's Single Diffractive Dissociation at the Large Hadron Collider
Abstract: By extending the dipole Pomeron (DP) model, successful in describing elastic nucleon-nucleon scattering, to proton single diffractive dissociation (SD), we predict a dip-bump structure in the squared four-momentum transfer ($t$) distribution of proton's SD. Structures in the $t$ distribution of single diffractive dissociation are predicted around $t=-4$ GeV$^2$ at LHC energies in the range of 3 Ge… ▽ More

Strangeness production in double gap events in ALICE
Abstract: The ALICE detector at the LHC was upgraded in the long shutdown of 2019-2021 in order to take data at much-increased Run 3 and 4 rates. The various challenges of this upgrade are presented, and the first results of strangeness production in double gap events collected in 2022 are shown by presenting distributions of kaon pairs.

Multiple pion pair production in a Regge-based model
Abstract: Central diffractive event topologies at the LHC energies can be identified by two different approaches. First, the forward scattered protons can be measured in Roman pots. Second, a veto on hadronic activity away from midrapidity can be imposed to define a double-gap topology. Such a double-gap topology trigger has been implemented by the ALICE collaboration in Run 1 and Run 2 of the LHC. The anal… ▽ More

Central exclusive meson production in proton-proton collisions in ALICE at the LHC
Abstract: Central exclusive production at hadron colliders is characterised by the hadronic state produced at or close to midrapidity, and by the two forward scattered protons, or remnants thereof. No particles are produced between the midrapidity system and the forward going beam particles, and such events can hence be identified experimentally by a double-gap topology. At LHC energies, central exclusive p… ▽ More

Pomeron/glueball and odderon/oddball trajectories
Abstract: We predict glueball/oddball resonances lying on the pomeron/odderon trajectories. A simple new form of the trajectories, with threshold and asymptotic behaviour required by analyticity and unitarity, is proposed. The parameters of these (pomeron and odderon) trajectories are fitted to the data on high-energy elastic proton-proton scattering. The fitted trajectories are extrapolated to the resonanc… ▽ More

Light-by-light scattering in ultra-peripheral heavy-ion collisions at low diphoton masses
Abstract: We present a study of photon-photon scattering in the mass range $W_{γγ} < 5$ GeV. We extend earlier calculations of this cross section for $W_{γγ}>$ 5 GeV into the low mass range where photoproduction of the pseudoscalar resonances $η$, $η^{'}(958)$ contributes to two-photon final states.
